Thanks to Sri Varagooran mama for the article. Although a short incident, this has a very big teachings for all of us. As we all know that Mahaperiyava is none other Sarveswaran, we should avoid kamya bakthi towards and ask for only one thing –  His blessings to end this vicious cycle of birth and death. We all are humans and go through so many problems on a regular basis – it is natural for us seek divine help for our problems. If we remember that all our sufferings are nothing due to our own karma, then we will know what to ask.

I remember Sri Nochur quoting an incident from Periyava where Periyava used to feel that so many people come and ask for marriage, promotion, more money, better health etc but no one comes and ask for athma gnanam. Our acharyas are here only to help us achieve athma…
