காஞ்சிபுரம் திருமடத்தில் கார்த்திகை திருவிழா

காஞ்சி மகாபெரியவர் காலத்தில், காஞ்சிபுரம் திருமடத்தில் கார்த்திகை திருவிழா மிகச்சிறப்பாகக் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. இரண்டு நாட்கள் முன்னதாகவே மடத்தைச் சுத்தப்படுத்தும் பணி துவங்கி விடும். வாழை மரங்கள், தோரணங்கள் கட்டி அலங்காரம் செய்வார்கள்.
திருக்கார்த்திகையன்று அதிகாலை மகாபெரியவர் ஸ்நானம் செய்து, பூஜைகள் செய்வார். மடத்திலுள்ள சந்திர மவுலீஸ்வரருக்கு அன்று சிறப்பு பூஜை நடத்தப்படும். பெரிய, சிறிய அகல் விளக்குகள் ஏராளமாக மடத்துக்கு கொண்டு வரப்படும். விளக்கேற்றும் நேரத்துக்கு முன்னதாகவே, அதில் திரியிட்டு இலுப்ப எண்ணெய் ஊற்றி தயார் நிலையில் வைக்கப்படும்.
மாலையில், பெரியவர் ஸ்நானம் செய்வார். பின் பூஜை செய்வார். அதன் பின் ஒரு தீப்பந்தத்தில் “குங்குளயம்’ என்னும் தீபம் ஏற்றப்படும். அவ்வாறு ஏற்றும் போது மந்திரங்கள் ஒலிக்கும். சிவ சகஸ்ரநாமம், லிங்காஷ்டகம், சிவ அஷ்டோத்ர பாராயணம் ஆகியவை செய்யப்பட்டவுடன், அவல், நெல் பொரி போன்றவற்றுடன் வெல்லம் கலந்து உருண்டைகளாகச் செய்து சுவாமிக்கு நைவேத்யம் செய்வார்கள். பிறகு தீபங்கள் வரிசையாக ஏற்றப்படும்.
அப்போது ஏராளமான பெண்கள் மடத்திற்கு வருவார்கள். அவர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் மஞ்சள், குங்குமம், வெற்றிலை பாக்கு, மட்டைத் தேங்காய் ஆகியவற்றைப் பலரும் தானமாகக் கொடுக்கும் படி மகாசுவாமிகள் சொல்வார். பலரும் அவ்வாறு தானம் செய்வர்.

1988-ல் காஞ்சியை அடுத்த ஓரிக்கையில் தங்கியிருந்த ஸ்வாமிகளின் தரிசனத்துக்கு சென்றிருந்தேன்.கூட்டமே இல்லை கைங்கர்யம் பண்ணும் நாலைந்து இளைஞர்கள் மட்டுமே அருகில் இருந்தனர். நமஸ்காரம் செய்தேன்.
அருகில் வரும்படி அழைத்து உட்காரச் சொன்னார்.
இப்ப என்ன நாடகம் போட்டுண்டிருக்கே?” என்று பெரியவா கேட்டதும் ஒரு கணம் திகைத்துப் போனேன்.
அதுவரை என் நாடகங்களைப் பற்றி சுவாமிகள் நேரடியாக என்னிடம் விசாரித்ததில்லையாதலால், சற்றும் எதிபாராத வகையில் திடீரென்று பெரியவா அப்படிக் கேட்டத்துதான் எனது ஒரு கணநேரத் திகைப்புக்குக் காரணம்.
“நாத்தனார் கலகம்” என்றேன் நான்.
“என்ன கதை? அதில என்ன சொல்லியிருக்கே?”
இக்கட்டான நிலைமை.”கதையை விரிவாகச் சொல்வதா-சுருக்கமாகக் கூறுவதா? எப்படித் தொடங்குவது,எங்கே தொடங்குவது? எதைச் சொல்வது,எதை விடுவது? இதற்கு முன் பெரியாவாவிடம் கதை சொல்லிப் பழக்கமில்லையே!’
இவ்வாறு சிந்தித்தப்படியே, கதையை விட்டுவிட்டு நாடகத்தின் மையக் கருத்தைக் கூறிவிடலாம் என்ற முடிவுக்கு வந்தேன்.
“இப்பெல்லாம் பிள்ளைகள் அப்பா அம்மாவைச் சரியா கவனிச்சுக்க மாட்டேங்கறா,நிறைய சம்பாதிக்கறா.அப்பாவோட பணமும்
வேண்டியிருக்கு. ஆனா அன்பா இருக்கமாட்டேங்கிறா.பெத்தவா வீட்டை விட்டுவிட்டு, விருத்தாச்ரமங்களைத் தேடிண்டு
போகவேண்டியிருக்கு,’இதை வெச்சுண்டு கதை எழுதியிருக்கேன்!’ என்று கூறினேன்.
“வாஸ்தவம்தான். என்கிட்டேகூட அப்பப்போ சிலபேர் வந்து “பையன் வெளிநாட்டிலே, உத்தியோகம் பார்க்கறான்.ஆயிரம்
