Stephan Brusche: The Banana Artist….!!!

One can forgive Stephan Brusche for playing with his food. This surprising artist has managed to transform one of my favorite items of grocery into works of art I would never part from. He doesn’t just draw or cut up the bananas, but uses both to create scenes and sculptures both whimsical and inventive. I think he’s top notch, and I’ve enjoyed being surprised again and again by his creativity.

See some more of his terrific works on his Website, Facebook page orInstagram.

Lost Keys

yougottobekidding's avatarYou Got to be Kidding's Blog

After a meeting several days ago, I couldn’t find my keys. I quickly gave myself a personal “TSA Pat Down”.

They weren’t in my pockets. Suddenly I realized I must have left them in the car. Frantically, I headed for the parking lot. My husband has scolded me many times for leaving my keys in the car’s ignition. He’s afraid that the car could be stolen. As I looked around the parking lot, I realized he was right. The parking lot was empty. I immediately called the police. I gave them my location, confessed that I had left my keys in the car, and that it had been stolen.

Then I made the most difficult call of all to my husband: “I left my keys in the car and it’s been stolen.”

There was a moment of silence. I thought the call had been disconnected, but then I heard his…

A Hospital Bill

You don’t have to be Catholic to appreciate this one!!

A man suffered a serious heart attack while shopping in a store.

The store clerk called 911 when they saw him collapse to the floor.

The paramedics rushed the man to the nearest hospital where he had emergency
open heart bypass surgery.

He awakened from the surgery to find himself in the care of nuns at the
Catholic Hospital. A nun was seated next to his bed holding a clipboard
loaded with several forms, and a pen. She asked him how he was going to
pay for his treatment.

“Do you have health insurance?” she asked.

He replied in a raspy voice, “No health insurance.”

The nun asked, “Do you have money in the bank?”

He replied, “No money in the bank.”

Do you have a relative who could help you with the payments?”
asked the irritated nun.

He said…

The Perfect Man

Nice one on the lighter side…. I am getting it reblogged in my site.

This was soooo touching!

Frank Feldman

A man walks out to the street and catches a taxi just going by.
He gets into the taxi, and the cabbie says, “Perfect timing – you’re just like Frank.”

Passenger: “Who?”

Cabbie: “Frank Feldman… he’s a guy who did everything right all the time. Like my coming along when you needed a cab, things happened like that to Frank Feldman every single time.”

Passenger: “There are always a few clouds over everybody.”

Cabbie: “Not Frank Feldman. He was a terrific athlete. He could have won the Grand Slam at tennis. He could golf with the pros. He sang like an opera baritone and danced like a Broadway star. And you should have heard him play the piano!  He was an amazing guy.”

Passen ger: “Sounds like he was somebody really special.”

Cabbie: “Oh hell there’s more. He had a memory like a computer. …

Where Phrase Came From

yougottobekidding's avatarYou Got to be Kidding's Blog

I did not check on Snopes to make sure these were all true. Some may be simply be the result of someone’s overactive imagination. Be that as it may, they are still fun to read.

A SHOT OF WHISKEY
In the old west a .45 cartridge for a six-gun cost 12 cents, so did a glass of whiskey. If a cowhand was low on cash he would often give the bartender a cartridge in exchange for a drink. This became known as a “shot” of whiskey.

THE WHOLE NINE YARDS
American fighter planes in WW2 had machine guns that were fed by a belt of cartridges. The average plane held belts that were 27 feet (9 yards) long. If the pilot used up all his ammo he was said to have given it the whole nine yards.

BUYING THE FARM
This is synonymous with dying. During WW1 soldiers were given…

Power Outage

yougottobekidding's avatarYou Got to be Kidding's Blog

A gentleman reported the following:

“I had a power outage at my house this morning and my PC, Laptop, TV, DVD, IPad and my new surround sound music system were all shut down.

Then I discovered that my iPhone battery was dead.

To top it off, it was raining so I couldn’t go for a walk, bike, or run.

The garage door opener needs electricity so I couldn’t go anywhere in the car.

I went into the kitchen to make coffee and then I remember that this also needed power, so I sat and talked with my wife for a few hours.

She seems like a nice person.

How to Make a Baby

yougottobekidding's avatarYou Got to be Kidding's Blog

Canadian photographer Patrice Laroche surely will have no trouble explaining to his kids about the birds and the bees. During his wife Sandra’s pregnancy, the artist created this hilarious explanatory photo series title “How to Make a Baby”.

The creative couple planned and carried out their project throughout the whole period of 9 months, taking pictures in the same settings as Sandra’s belly expanded.

The pregnancy saga of Sandra and Patrice basically denounces all the traditional cabbage and the stork stories.

And that’s how it works!
