Before you complain or critisise Think of………..

Before you think of saying an unkind word
Think of someone who can’t speak

Before you complain about the taste of your food
Think of someone who has nothing to eat

Before you complain about your husband or wife
Think of someone who’s crying out to God for a companion

Today before you complain about life
Think of someone who went too early to heaven

Before you complain about your children
Think of someone who desires children but they’re barren

Before you argue about your dirty house; someone didn’t clean or sweep
Think of the people who are living in the streets

Before whining about the distance you drive
Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet

And when you are tired and complain about your job
Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another
Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down
Put a smile on your face and thank God you’re alive and still around

Life is a gift
Live it…
Enjoy it…
Celebrate it…
And fulfill it.

What is Ours Will Stay With Us!!!!….

What is ours will stay with us!

Baba’s first advent at Shirdi is shrouded in mystery. Researchers point this to various dates, some as early as 1854 and some later in 1870s. It is fairly certain than during 1880s several of the well-known earlier devotees of Baba were drawn to Shirdi. This includes Nanasaheb Chandorkar, Ganpatrao Saharabuddhe also known as Das Ganu Maharaj, and Abdul. The days in Shirdi prior to this are not well documented, much less in any chronological order.

Mahalsapathy, Appa Kote, Nana Chopdar, Tatya Kote, Bayaji Bai are probably the earliest of Baba’s devotees who had the blessed and uninterrupted company of Sri Sai before crowds flocked to Shirdi. What a wonderful times those would have been! While most of the villagers thought Baba to be a mad fakir or a medicine man, these handful devotees were drawn to Baba whom they considered as their God. Baba often said to them that “Fakir (Mendicacy) was the real Lordship as it was everlasting, and the so called Lordship (riches) was transient”. Baba also used say that what God gives will stay forever and what man gives will not.

On many other occasions Baba said, out of love for His devotees – “What (whether good or bad) is ours, is with us, and what is another’s is with him.” Now, the question is to know what is “ours”. Well, didn’t Baba say that he is our caretaker and trustee of our lives and that He has to give an account of every paise to God! Yes, what is “ours” is the blessed qualification of Baba’s guardianship and protective hands. Unfortunately, when times are not good, Sai devotees forget the assurance that Baba has given and go through unnecessary turmoil instead of keeping patient and reflect on what Baba assured. Let us once again, reiterate Baba’s assurance such that we will set our priorities right:

“There will never be any dearth or scarcity, regarding food and clothes, in any devotees’ homes. It is my special characteristic that I always look to, and provide, for the welfare of those devotees, who worship Me whole-heartedly with their minds ever fixed on Me. Strive not much for food and clothes. If you want anything, beg of the Lord, leave worldly honors, try to get Lord’s grace and blessings, and be honored in His Court”

Message For The Day….God is our Eternal Companion !!!!

The Lord’s Grace is like rain – pure water, falling equally and consistently everywhere. However, the same rainwater’s taste gets changed according to the soil through which it flows, and the container which holds it. So also, the Lord’s words are sweet to some, bitter to others. The Lord’s ways are mysterious. You do not know the real reasons behind the actions of the Lord. You cannot understand the motives of another man who like you has intentions, likes and dislikes. But yet, how easily you decide the motives of One who is far above your level! How glibly you talk and judge something that is as strange to you, as atmosphere is to a fish! All you must remember is that God is your eternal companion and watchman – Live with this steady faith in Him, adore Him, and seek His ever comforting creative presence always.

The one thing that I am well known for among my friends is the laughter that I share with them. But one memory of my laughter will always stand out -it was on my trip to Kailash Mansarovar,- I had completed the third day of kailash Parikrama by foot and then I went to Ashtpad where we had to walk on ice and by evening, I was so tired that I just skipped dinner and went to sleep.. I woke up at abt 2am or so and 2 of my friends were still awake talking in the courtyard. I sat with them and one thing led to another and we started laughing like anything..At 3 am sitting in the open courtyard cracking one joke after the other- my laugh was echoing and disturbing others. It bothered a 27yr old guy to such an extent that he came out and started starring at us giving us a warning to stop. The other two stopped but I was unable to control my laugh. The more he starred at me ,- the more I laughed and the more I laughed , the more angry he became..I think in my life that has been the only episode where my laugh has managed to make someone so angry. But other than that, personally- I think the sound of your loved one laughing with you is the best sound in the whole universe and laughing with your loved ones will definetly make you cherish those moments for life….
My funda of life: To see your loved one laughing with you makes you believe that He is happy with you..And to see your loved one happy makes you the most happiest person in the whole universe..
Try it for yourself- If you can have arguments with each other why cant you also remove time to laugh with each other..

Message For The Day….Righteousness Ensures Greater Joy….

Often, in your ignorance, you feel small, you feel miserable, you feel that the wicked, greedy and cruel people are all happier than you and unjustifiably so. You are hurt and feel that it is unjust that you, who are so truthful, so loving, so virtuous, should suffer. Just ponder over this. Are they as happy as you imagine and is your condition, as bad as you portray it to be? Investigate for a minute, and you will know the truth yourself. External appearances are often like painted pots of poison. The hearts of people not adhering to Right Conduct know no peace – they are probably as miserable as you, if not more. Believe that Righteousness will never play false; it will ensure greater joy than can be gained through all other means.

Devotion and morality are as important for physical health as they are for mental health. They free your mind from agitation, and feed it with joy and contentment. –

Message For the Day….What God Expects From You ?….

When I sang the bhajan ‘Manasa Bhajare…’ I called on all those suffering in the endless round of birth and death to worship the feet of the Guru, the Guru that was announcing Himself, Who had come again for taking upon Himself the burden of those who find refuge in Him. That was the very first message of Mine to humanity! I said, ‘worship in your mind’. I do not need your flowers and fruits that you purchase for a small price. They are not genuinely yours. Give Me something that is yours, something which is clean, fragrant with the perfume of virtue and innocence, washed in tears of repentance. Garlands, fruits, etc. are an exhibition of your devotion. Some can afford it, the poor feel sorry that they cannot. Install the Lord in your heart and offer Him the fruits of your actions and the flowers of your innermost thoughts and feelings. That is the worship and expression of devotion God likes the most!

A Cup of Coffee on The Wall !!!

what a strange way to express one’s concern about the needy one !! True one & worth knowing.

Cup of Coffee on the Wall

I sat with my friend in a well-known coffee shop in a neighboring town of Venice, the city of lights and water. As we enjoyed our coffee, a man entered and sat on an empty table beside us. He called the waiter and placed his order saying, ‘Two cups of coffee, one of them there on the wall.’

We heard this order with rather interest and observed that he was served with one cup of coffee but he paid for two. As soon as he left, the waiter pasted a piece of paper on the wall saying ‘A Cup of Coffee’.

While we were still there, two other men entered and ordered three cups of coffee, two on the table and one on the wall. They had two cups of coffee but paid for three and left. This time also, the waiter did the same; he pasted a piece of paper on the wall saying, ‘A Cup of Coffee’.

It seemed that this gesture was a norm at this place. However, it was something unique and perplexing for us. Since we had nothing to do with the matter, we finished our coffee, paid the bill and left.

After a few days, we again had a chance to go to this coffee shop. While we were enjoying our coffee, a man entered. The way this man was dressed did not match the standard nor the atmosphere of this coffee shop. Poverty was evident from the looks on his face. As he seated himself, he looked at the wall and said, one cup of coffee from the wall. The waiter served coffee to this man with the customary respect and dignity. The man had his coffee and left without paying.

We were amazed to watch all this when the waiter took off a piece of paper from the wall and threw it in the dust bin. Now it was no surprise for us – the matter was very clear.
The great respect for the needy shown by the inhabitants of this town welled up our eyes with tears.

Coffee is not a need of our society neither a necessity of life for us. The point to note is that when we take pleasure in any blessing, maybe we also need to think about those people who appreciate that specific blessing as much as we do but they cannot afford to have it.

Note the character of this waiter, who is playing a consistent and generous role to get the communication going between the affording and the needy with a smile on his face.

Ponder upon this man in need….he enters the coffee shop without having to lower his self-esteem…he has no need to ask for a free cup of coffee…without asking or knowing about the one who is giving this cup of coffee to him…he only looked at the wall, placed an order for himself, enjoyed his coffee and left.

When we analyze this story, along with the other characters,we need to remember the role played by the wall that reflects the generosity and care of the dwellers of this town.

No One Can Hurt Us Without Our Consent…

On his First Day in office as President Abraham Lincoln entered to give His Inaugural Address, One Man stood up, he was a Rich Aristocrat.

He Said,

“Mr Lincoln, You Should Not Forget That Your Father Used to make Shoes for My Family.”
And the Whole Senate Laughed, They thought they had Made a Fool of Lincoln.
But Certain People Are Made Of A Totally Different Mettle.

Lincoln Looked At The Man Directly In the Eyes And Said,
“Sir, I Know That My father Used To Make Shoes For Your Family, And There Will Be Many Others Here,
Because He made Shoes The Way Nobody Else Can.
He Was A Creator. His Shoes Were Not Just Shoes
He Poured His Whole Soul Into Them.
I Want To Ask You,
Have You Any Complaint??
Because I Know How To Make Shoes Myself.
If You Have Any Complaint I Can Make You Another Pair Of Shoes.
But As Far As I Know, Nobody Has Ever Complained About My Father’s Shoes. He Was A Genius,
A Great Creator
And
I am Proud Of My Father.
The Whole Senate Was Struck Dumb.
They Could Not Understand What Kind Of Man Abraham Lincoln Was.
He Was Proud Because His Father Did His Job So Well That Not Even A Single Complaint Had Ever Been Heard.

Remember……
No One Can Hurt Us Without Our Consent.

It is Not What Happens to us That Hurts Us.
It Is Our Response That Hurts Us.
