Message For The Day…..Divine Bliss is Not For Sale!!!!

You will all doubtlessly agree when I say that Divine Bliss is your greatest need. However, you cannot buy it from anywhere! It has to be earned the hard way, doing good deeds, moving in good company, desisting from evil and keeping the mind attached to the Glory of God. Good and bad cannot be kept together in the same place. The Sun once remarked that he had no enemies left and someone told him that there still was one – Darkness! Then, he sent his rays, the emissaries, to seek out the foe. But wherever they went, they only saw light and darkness was nowhere to be found. They returned and reported – there was no such thing as darkness upon the earth. So too, you must gain victory of good over bad within you by persisting vigorously in your spiritual practices.

Winner Never Quits !!!….Quitter Never Wins !!!!!

Here are few stories of some personalities who never quit in their first attempt !!!

1. When Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, he tried over 1000 experiments before he got it to work. A young reporter asked him how it felt to fail so many times. He said, “I never failed once. I invented the light bulb. It just happened to be a 1000-step process.”

2. Wilma Rudolph was the 20th of 22 children. She was born prematurely and her survival was doubtful. When she was 4 years old, she contracted double pneumonia and scarlet fever, which left her with a paralyzed left leg. At age 9, she removed the metal leg brace she had been dependent on and began to walk without it. By 13 she had developed a rhythmic walk, which doctors said was a miracle. That same year she decided to become a runner. She entered a race and came in last. For the next few years every race she entered, she came last. Everyone told her to quit, but she kept on running. One day she actually won race. And then another. From then on she won every race she entered.
Eventually this little girl, who was told she would never walk again, went on to win three Olympic Gold Medals!!!

3. In 1962, four nervous young musicians played their first record audition for the executives of the Decca recording Company. The executives were not impressed. While turning down this group of musicians, one executive said, “We don’t like their round. Groups of guitars are on the way out.” The group was called The Beatles.

4. In 1944, Emmeline Snively, director of the Blue Book Modeling Agency, told modeling hopeful Norma Jean Baker, “You’d better learn secretarial work or else get married.” She went on and became Marilyn Monroe.

5. In 1954, Jimmy Denny, manager of the Grand Ole Opry, fired a singer after one performance. He told him, “You ain’t goin’ nowhere….son. You ought to go back to driving’ a truck.” He went on to become the most popular singer in America named Elvis Presley.

6. When Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876, it did not ring off the hook with calls from potential backers. After making a demonstration call, President Rutherford Hayes said, “That’s an amazing Invention, but who would ever want to use one of them?”

7. In the 1940s, another young inventor named Chester Carlson took his idea to 20 corporations, including some of the biggest in the country. They all turned him down. In 1947 – after seven long years of rejections! He finally got a tiny company in Rochester, New York, the Haloid Company, to purchase the rights to his invention an electrostatic paper-copying process. Haloid became Xerox Corporation we know today.

Moral:

Character cannot be developed in ease and comfort.Only through experiences of trial and suffering, one’s mental capacity can be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved. You gain strength and confidence in every experience where you really learn to handle fear and tension and learn to take failure as learning opportunity. You must do the thing you cannot do. And remember, the finest steel comes to shape through the hottest furnace. And even the precious gold is tested against fire.

We have no right to ask when suffering or sorrow comes, “Why did this happen to me?”
unless we ask the same question for every moment of happiness that comes our way.

Be like steel, not glass! Tests of life are to make us,not to break us!

Winner never quits! Quitter never wins!

Life’s good and stay alive all your life!

Message For The Day….HE is Everthing….

The Lord is a Mountain of Love. Any number of ants carrying away particles of sweetness cannot exhaust His plenty. He is an Ocean of Mercy without a limiting shore. And devotion is the easiest way to win His Grace and also to realize that He pervades everything; in fact, He is everything! Sharanagathi (total surrender) or leaving everything to His Will, is the highest form of devotion. Devotion and the attitude of surrender, which is its final fruit, will give you great courage to meet any emergency; such courage is what is called Renunciation. When Devotion is just emerging as a sapling, a fence is needed to protect the tender plant. That fence is religion and its rules, restrictions, directions and commands.

Message For The Day….We Should Be Like Pure Iron…

God draws the individual towards Himself. It is the nature of both to have this mutual affinity; they are just like the iron and magnet. But if the iron is rusty, covered with layers of dirt, the magnet is unable to attract. Remove the impurities, then you will shine forth in your real nature and the Lord will draw you unto Him. Spiritual practices (Sadhana) should result in inner as well as external cleanliness. You do not feel refreshed if you wear unwashed clothes after your bath. Nor do you feel clean if you wear washed clothes, but skip taking bath. Hence, both are needed – the baahya (external) and the bhaava (internal). Trials and tribulations are the means by which this cleansing is done. They are like the dietary and other restrictions prescribed to supplement the effect of the drug of Namasmarana (remembrance of God).

Message For The Day….Divine is Human….

You have come into the world to realise yourselves. You come fully equipped with all the instruments needed for that endeavour – viveka, vairaagya and vichakshana (discrimination, non-attachment and skill); and the urge to enlarge your love, enrich your emotions and ennoble your actions. But you have lost your way; you are caught in a morass and are confused by mirages and dreams which you take as real; you run after false colours and cheap substitutes. Remember that everything is subordinated to that supreme task. The body should be fed and kept free from disease. Why? So that it may be fit for spiritual discipline. Spiritual discipline for what? For the realisation of the truth about oneself. The subtle is the basis for the gross; the Divine is the basis for the Human.

Words of Wisdom….Worth Keeping in Our Heart !!!!

A man with one watch knows what time it is.. A man with two watches is never quite sure of the time !!!

D’ont look where you fall, but where you slipped!!!

Look at life through the windshield…not the rearview mirror!!!

People may doubt what you say, but they will believe what you do !!!

Be nice to people on your way up..because you will need them on your way down!!!

Never explain…your friends do not need it… your enemies will not believe it !!!

Time you enjoyed wasting was not wasted!!!

Courage is not a lack of fear, but the ability to act while facing fear !!!

If you are heading in the wrong direction, you are allowed to do a U turn!!!

You have got to do your own growing..no matter how tall your father was !!!

The best way to predict your future is to create it !!!!!

Run Your Own Race….

FOCUS……..

I was jogging one day and i noticed a person in front of me, about 1/4 of mile. I could tell he was running a little slower than me and I thought, good, i shall try to catch him. I had about a mile to go my path before i needed to turn off.

So i started running faster and faster. Every block, i was gaining on him just a little bit. After just a few minutes i was only about 100 yards behind him, so i really picked up the pace and push myself. You would have thought i was running in the last leg of London Olympic competition. I was determined to catch him.

Finally, i did it! I caught and passed him by. On the inside i felt so good.
“I beat him” of course, he didn’t even know we were racing.

After i passed him, i realized i had been so focused on competing against him that i had missed my turn. I had gone nearly six blocks past it. I had to turn around and go all back. Isn’t that what happens in life when we focus on competing with co-workers, neighbors, friends, family, trying to outdo them or trying to prove that we are more successful or more important?

We spend our time and energy running after them and we miss out on our own paths to our God given destinies. The problem with unhealthy competition is that its a never ending cycle.

There will always be somebody ahead of you, someone with better job, nicer car, more money in the bank, more education, a prettier wife, a more handsome husband, better behaved children, etc. But realize that “You can be the best that you can be, you are not competing with no one.” Some people are insecure because they pay too much attention 2 what others are doing, where others are going, wearing driving.

Take what God has given you, the height, weight personality. Dress well wear it proudly! You’ll be blessed by it.
Stay focused and live a healthy life.

There’s no competition in DESTINY, run your own RACE and wish others WELL!!!

Message For The Day….Earn the Grace of God…

Many of you are drawn to God due to health problems or mental worry of some sort or the other. Know that these are mere baits by which you have been drawn closer to God, so that you may contact Him, receive His Grace and strengthen your faith in the Divine. Problems and worries are really to be welcomed as they teach you the lessons of humility and reverence. Today, the entire world faces many problems. Many hesitate to believe that things will improve and that life for all will be happy and full of joy, that the Golden Age will ever recur. Be assured that Divinity will always be present to protect and establish righteousness, and avert the crisis upon humanity.

It is a sign of indolence to think that you won’t suffer from grief or loss; they are inevitable. Earn the Grace of the Lord every minute; then, even mountains of sin can be reduced to dust.

India..Great Grand Mother of Tradition !!!

Nice thoughts on the Republic Day of India……….

In Praise of India – 10 Famous Quotations about India …Every Indian should be proud to be an Indian citizen !!!
source ::::input from a friend of mine….

1. Will Durant, American historian: “India was the motherland of
our race, and Sanskrit the mother of Europe’s languages: she was the
mother of our philosophy; mother, through the Arabs, of much of our
mathematics; mother, through the Buddha, of the ideals embodied in
Christianity; mother, through the village community, of
self-government and democracy. Mother India is in many ways the mother
of us all”.

2. Mark Twain, American author: “India is, the cradle of the human
race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the
grandmother of legend, and the great grand mother of tradition. our
most valuable and most instructive materials in the history of man are
treasured up in India only.”

3. Albert Einstein, American scientist: “We owe a lot to the
Indians, who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile
scientific discovery could have been made.”

4. Max Mueller, German scholar: If I were asked under what sky the
human mind has most fully developed some of its choicest gifts, has
most deeply pondered on the greatest problems of life, and has found
solutions, I should point to India.

5. Romain Rolland, French scholar : “If there is one place on the
face of earth where all the dreams of living men have found a home
from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it
is India.”

6. Henry David Thoreau, American Thinker & Author: Whenever I have
read any part of the Vedas, I have felt that some unearthly and
unknown light illuminated me. In the great teaching of the Vedas,
there is no touch of sectarianism. It is of all ages, climbs, and
nationalities and is the royal road for the attainment of the Great
Knowledge. When I read it, I feel that I am under the spangled heavens
of a summer night.

7. R.W. Emerson, American Author: In the great books of India, an
empire spoke to us, nothing small or unworthy, but large, serene,
consistent, the voice of an old intelligence, which in another age and
climate had pondered and thus disposed of the questions that exercise
us.

8. Hu Shih, former Ambassador of China to USA: “India conquered
and dominated China culturally for 20 centuries without ever having to
send a single soldier across her border.”

9. Keith Bellows, National Geographic Society : “There are some
parts of the world that, once visited, get into your heart and won’t
go. For me, India is such a place. When I first visited, I was stunned
by the richness of the land, by its lush beauty and exotic
architecture, by its ability to overload the senses with the pure,
concentrated intensity of its colors, smells, tastes, and sounds… I
had been seeing the world in black & white and, when brought
face-to-face with India, experienced everything re-rendered in
brilliant technicolor.”

10. A Rough Guide to India: “It is impossible not to be astonished
by India. Nowhere on Earth does humanity present itself in such a
dizzying, creative burst of cultures and religions, races and tongues.
Enriched by successive waves of migration and marauders from distant
lands, every one of them left an indelible imprint which was absorbed
into the Indian way of life. Every aspect of the country presents
itself on a massive, exaggerated scale, worthy in comparison only to
the superlative mountains that overshadow it. It is this variety which
provides a breathtaking ensemble for experiences that is uniquely
Indian. Perhaps the only thing more difficult than to be indifferent
to India would be to describe or understand India completely. There
are perhaps very few nations in the world with the enormous variety
that India has to offer. Modern day India represents the largest
democracy in the world with a seamless picture of unity in diversity
unparalleled anywhere else.

Message For the Day….You Are the Divine Self…..

Live with the consuming conviction that you are the Divine Self (Atma). This is the hard core eternal truth. The Atma it is, that sees through your eyes, hears through your ears, works through your fingers and moves through your feet. This true ‘you’ will not be elated by praise or deflated by blame. If someone carps at you, reason out thus within yourself: “Is he or she casting aspersions on my body? Well, why should I be worried then? Or are the abuses being addressed to the Atma? Nothing can affect its purity, or tarnish its glory. So remain calm and unperturbed.” You may ask, what happens then to the strings of abuse? Like the letter sent by post and refused by the addressee, it returns to the sender.

Be humble, be calm, be tolerant. Co-operate with all and treat everyone
with courtesy and kindness.
