Temples are centres of discipline, where aspirants are guided step by step to attain a vision of truth. They are schools for training of the spirit, academies for promotion of scriptural studies, institutes of super-science, and laboratories for testing the values of life. They are hospitals for the treatment and cure not only of the ‘birth-death disease’, which has persisted for ages, but even the much more patent ‘mental disorders’ that trouble those who do not know the secret of acquiring peace. Temples are gymnasia where people are reconditioned and their hesitant faith, waning conviction, and the upsurging egotism is cured. The purpose of temple is to awaken the Divinity in humanity (Madhavatwa in manavatwa), inducing people to believe that the physical frames in which they live are themselves houses of God. message for the day
Message for the Day…. ” True devotion lies in performing actions that will sanctify time. I am not asking you to serve the whole world in a big way. It is enough if you keep God in your heart and serve as your capacity permits you with love.”
|
I don’t want your devotion; I only want your transformation. You should understand that the purpose of this human body is to serve others (Paropakarartham Idam Shariram). Involve yourself in such activities which will benefit others and give them happiness. Resolve to tread the path of service. Scriptures teach that neither by penance nor by pilgrimage nor by study of scriptures nor by devotion can one cross the ocean of life. You can achieve liberation only by serving the pious. The path of service is superior to all other spiritual practices like japa, dhyana and yoga. Only through service can you please God. Some people indulge in meaningless activities in the name of devotion and waste their time. True devotion lies in performing actions that will sanctify time. I am not asking you to serve the whole world in a big way. It is enough if you keep God in your heart and serve as your capacity permits you with love. Source…. http://media.radiosai.org/ Natarajan |

Be happy and blissful. Increase your spiritual dimensions. My love is your greatest wealth and good fortune. This is My greatest gift to you. Take good care of this precious gift. This is My blessing to you on this day. Live with the firm conviction that there is one Divinity resident in all. May you all have steady devotion, and sacred, long, and happy life! May all your difficulties be removed! May you experience unalloyed bliss! May you have all this!

Message for the Day….” My grace is available in full measure for the benefit of all the devotees. “
What I have taken as a sankalpa (resolve) will surely be fructified. But I need not take on a sankalpa if I do not wish to. My own thoughts, sankalpas and ideas depend on how the devotees conduct themselves. My grace is available in full measure for the benefit of all the devotees. Since I move about like an ordinary individual talking and playing with you, many people do not understand My true nature. In this context, even people with great strength of mind cannot recognise the true nature of this Sai and the difference between the outward appearance and the real internal aspect. My objective is to establish unity in mankind and to reveal to them the aspect of divinity which is Brahman, the only goal which one should look for. It is also My duty to make you realise the kind of relationship that should exist between man and man, and that Divinity is present and latent in all human beings.

Message for the Day…. ” You will have everything in life if you have love in you. Never hate anybody. Make this your goal in life. This is My message for you today”
You cannot attain God by your wealth. God can be attained only through devotion. Satyabhama in her pride hoped to possess Krishna all for herself by her wealth. She chose to weigh Him against the huge amount of gold she possessed, and failed. Narada made her realise her folly by showing that a single basil (Tulasi) leaf offered by Rukmini with real devotion exceeded all the wealth of Satyabhama. Satyabhama symbolises desire while Rukmini represents devotion. Krishna says that He is pleased with the offering of a leaf, a flower, a fruit or water. Do not take this literally. Your body is the leaf, the flower is the blossom of your heart, your mind is the fruit, and the tears of joy is the water – these are the acceptable offerings to God. You will have everything in life if you have love in you. Never hate anybody. Make this your goal in life. This is My message for you today!

Message for the Day… ” As long as one lives within certain limits and disciplines, as well as particular rules and regulations, one will be able to maintain a good name and lead a happy and useful life.”
You want to study well, pass and get a first-class. After that you want to get a good position, get married and lead a happy family life. And then you desire for children, and want that they be intelligent and do well in life. There is no limit for such desires. The most important reason for bondage is giving too much freedom to the mind. For example, when an animal is tethered to a post, it will not be able to go to another place and spoil it. It will not be able to show anger or violence or do harm to any person. But if it is untied and let loose, it can roam over various fields, destroy the crops and cause loss and harm to others. For the mischief it does, it gets beaten. Similarly, the mind must be bound by certain regulations and limits. As long as one lives within certain limits and disciplines, as well as particular rules and regulations, one will be able to maintain a good name and lead a happy and useful life.

Message for the Day… ” The claim to be a devotee of the Lord, a votary of the Highest, can be admitted only if the passions and emotions are pure and if the character is virtuous.”
You now have multitudes of claimants for the status and benefits of a person with devotion; you can see them on the roads to holy rivers or cities, or singing spiritual songs wearing all the paraphernalia of devotion. But the claim to be a devotee of the Lord, a votary of the Highest, can be admitted only if the passions and emotions are pure and if the character is virtuous. The tongue may utter the Name of the Lord, the ear may be open when the Lord’s glory is recited, and the hand may scatter flowers on the image of God, but the tongue may not know or relish the taste, the ear may not pine, or the hand may not yearn. These can happen only when the heart is aware of the Supreme, and when the mind is thrilled recollecting the glory of God. Otherwise one is like the spoon which dips into sour and sweet with equal alacrity and insensitivity. It does not refuse or relish any of the tastes.

Message for the Day… ” Whomsoever you salute, it reaches God! Likewise, whomsoever you criticise, the criticism too reaches God. So do not criticise or hate anybody. “
Self is nothing but the principle of the all pervasive Atma (Divine Self). There is only one Self. Hence the scriptures state God is one without a second (Ekam eva Advitiyam Brahma). It is rather surprising that people are unable to believe this principle of unity. You have faith in what is broadcast on television and radio, but do not have faith in the Self. One without faith in the Self is verily blind. In this world every being is an embodiment of Divinity. Whomsoever you salute, it reaches God! Likewise, whomsoever you criticise, the criticism too reaches God. So do not criticise or hate anybody. There are many people who undertake spiritual practices like recitations, meditation and yoga. No doubt these are sacred activities and one may undertake them. But it is very essential to recognise the principle of unity. There is only one God and He is omnipresent. Why are you not able to believe this all-pervasive Divinity?

At the age of 7 , He is the youngest to scale the Mountain Kilimanjaro …
He just wanted to see some snow. But he got much more than that.
Samanyu, all of 7, scaled Africa’s loftiest peak and proved that no dream is impossible.
And that age is just a number.
Rediff.com‘s Divya Nair speaks to the mini mountaineer.
All photographs: Kind courtesy Samanyu Pothuraju/Boots and Crampons
On April 2, 2018, when Samanyu Pothuraju, 7, from Hyderabad, was woken up at 3 am by his expedition leader Bharat Taminneni, he didn’t want to wake up.
He begged, “It’s too cold outside. I don’t want to go. Please let me sleep.”
It was the very last leg of their ascent to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro so Bharat would not give in.
Recalls Lavanya Krishna, Samanyu’s mother, “Finally, Bharat told him that if he reached the summit, his favourite (Telugu film) hero Pawan Kalyan would (surely want to) meet him.”
Mention of Pawan Kalyan did the magic.
Samanyu woke up with a start.
Eight odd hours later that day, at 11.52 am, to be precise, little Samanyu made it to the top of Uhuru, the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. And clinched a world record.
At 7, Samanyu is the youngest person in history to scale this peak, 5,895 metres above sea level.
But the Class 3 student, who “loves karate, computers and math,” did not have the faintest idea about the significance of his journey.
“I was wearing a thick jacket and gloves. My legs were paining, but I was happy,” Samanyu tells Rediff.com from Hyderabad.
Last year he was one of the youngest to reach the Mount Everest base camp in Nepal.
What inspired him to go to Africa?
Mount Everest actually.
Says Lavanya, who accompanied Samanyu till Kilimanjaro’s second base camp and not beyond, “When we reached the base camp of Mount Everest, some months ago, he (Samanyu) was disappointed that he couldn’t see much snow.”
“When I told him about Kilimanjaro, he asked me if there would be snow and if he could touch it. I said yes. He said he wanted to go and see the snow.”
For Lavanya, a bank employee who quit her job to take care of her children (Samanyu’s elder sister is 13), sending her seven year old to the top of Kilimanjaro wasn’t an emotional decision.
It was about letting Samanyu have his dream.
She consulted Raji Thammineni of Boots and Crampons, a Hyderabad-based adventure logistics company, to find out how safe the journey was.
“Raji is a friend and she advised I first send Samanyu to a training camp to see if he was fit to go.”
Samanyu passed the camp last year with with flying colours.
“He could climb 50 steps up and down with ease, trek to mountains and even made it to the Everest base camp in October 2017,” says Lavanya.
In November, Samanyu signed up with Boots and Crampons to prepare to scale Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.
In addition to his training, Lavanya helped her son get mountain ready by showing him a video of the terrain daily.
“He saw how people climbed it in different situations — rain, sun, snow, etc.”
Samanyu was keen to see snow. But he also wanted to see East Africa’s famous blue monkeys.”
“He saw three blue monkeys,” Lavanya says.
Lavanya and Samanyu flew to Tanzania on March 27.
“It was supposed to be summer. When we reached it was raining and snowing. My head was paining on reaching the second base camp, so I was asked to rest,” says Lavanya.
The next climb, from the second base camp to the last camp, took approximately 10 hours.
The final stretch from the last camp to the summit was equally long. But Samanyu finished it like a pro, says Lavanya.
‘It required meticulous planning to achieve this mission. We took all the care and precautions to keep the child safe and help him realise (the importance) of his mission to the summit of one of the most challenging mountains in the world,’ Bharat and Raji posted on Facebook about Samanyu’s achievement.
‘Master Samanyu fought bravely with different terrains — rainforest, moorland-rocky landscape, Alpine desert and crater rim — before summiting this wonder of the world. We are extremely proud to support Master Samanyu’s achievement which brought laurels to our country,’ the post added.
The sacrifices
To prepare for Africa, Samanyu had to wake up early and religiously maintain a schedule so he could balance school, extracurricular activities and mountaineering.
“He’d wake up at 5 am and go for his karate classes followed by cycling. After school, he’d train for mountaineering,” says Lavanya.
Samanyu had to follow a strict diet. Not too much sugar. No ice cream.
“I had to eat canned food,” Samanyu tells Rediff.com. “It was tasty though.”
“After we climbed down, they gave me ice cream. I was very happy.”
What’s next
His next challenge?
“I want to do the 10 peaks challenge in Australia.”
Turns out none of this has affected his academic performance: Samanyu, who studies at the Bolton School in Hyderabad, scored over 95 per cent in his last examination.
Lavanya and Krishna spent Rs 15 lakhs funding their son’s expedition, but they feel helping Samanyu attain his dreams was their most important mission.
Here’s their message to parents: “Never stop your child from dreaming big. You can guide her /him on what is right and wrong. But support their dreams as much as you can.”
Samanyu is now waiting to meet Pawan Kalyan, as promised. His parents have tweeted the Telugu superstar about their son’s wish to meet him.
Hey, Pawan, if you are reading this feature, please do give lil’ Samanyu a call.

Message for the Day…. ” Practice ‘Help ever, hurt never’. There is no higher spiritual practice than this. This is the foundation for self-realisation!
Human body is meant to serve others, not to indulge in selfish deeds. As selfishness has become part and parcel of our lives, we indulge in many sinful activities. Eschew selfishness, take to selfless service. Give up attachment towards the body. Become attached to the Self. Understand that the same Self (Atma) exists in everyone. Though you find several bulbs glowing in a big hall, the current that is passing through them is the same. Bodies are like bulbs; the principle of Atma is the current that is present in them. With such a feeling of oneness, make efforts to alleviate the suffering of your fellow beings. Sage Vyasa has given the essence of 18 Puranas in the dictum: Paropakaraya Punyaya, Papaya Parapeedanam (one attains merit by serving others and commits sin by hurting them). So, practice ‘Help ever, hurt never’. There is no higher spiritual practice than this. This is the foundation for self-realisation!
