Simple Tips to Beat Acidity !!!!

Top tips to beat acidity
Most people suffer from acidity these days but the good news is that it is a completely reversible condition. Here are a few tips to beat it!

Are your eating habits irregular? Do you eat out a lot? Do you love spicy food? And have you been experiencing burning sensations in the throat, gas formation, sour taste in your mouth and fatigue? Chances are that you are suffering from acidity.
What causes acidity?
Acidity is caused when the digestive juices produced in our stomach are not utilised completely. In fact the acid helps digest food we eat. However, when there isn’t enough food for digestion or if there is an over production of this acid, you will experience acidity pangs.
In addition, acidity may also be due to eating a meal filled with either sugar or spices, stress, lack of exercise or long gaps between two meals. In most cases, the main trigger for acidity is the food we eat and our eating habits.
Though acidity is one of the most common problems faced by most of us, preventing acidity from occurring is very simple. Here are a few tricks which will help you beat acidity!

Eat at regular intervals

Always eat in small portions. Instead of one heavy breakfast, break it down into two portions and eat it at two-hour intervals. This way, your stomach is neither too full nor completely empty.

Fruits and veggies

Eat a lot of fruits, vegetables and whole wheat grains as this will increase the amount of fibre you consume. The fibre in your food will absorb the extra acid produced in your stomach and also discard it out of your body. Fruits such as bananas, papayas, cucumbers and watermelons go a long way in relieving acidity. Also, dry fruits like raisins, dried figs and almonds help in easing heartburns and the burning sensation in your stomach. Eat more vegetables like drumsticks, beans, pumpkin, cabbage, carrot and spring onions.

Drink water

Drink warm water first thing in the morning. This is said to flush out the excess acid which gets accumulated in your stomach through the night. In addition, drinking tender coconut water three times a day will also help you fight acidity.

Sip milk

If you are suffering from acidity, sip cold milk frequently as milk is an acidity buster and it helps in stabilizing the gastric acids. But, do not think eating ice cream is as same as drinking cold milk. Actually the cream and sugar in the ice cream will just aggravate the acidity.
Chew on tulsi

When you are suffering from heartburns, pop in a few tulsi leaves and chew on them for a while. This can give you instant relief. Also, mint leaves are said to be equally effective. Boil mint leaves in a bowl of water and sip it frequently. This too helps relieve you from acidity.

Aniseed/sauf

Now you know the reason behind the sauf served in restaurants. It not just helps in digestion but is also great for those suffering from acidity. For best results, soak one teaspoon of sauf in one cup of boiled water overnight. Strain this water, add a teaspoon of honey to it and sip on it through the day.
Chew gum

Chewing sugarless gum is said to help in reducing heartburn. Chewing gum produces more saliva, and the alkaline properties in the saliva neutralise the acid.

In addition to above tips:

Try and avoid eating out often, eating fatty, oily food and too many chocolates.
Exercise for at least 30 minutes every day.
Say a big ‘NO’ to cigarettes!
Use an extra pillow while lying down, so that your head is slightly elevated. The elevated position helps the acid to remain inside the stomach, instead of moving into the esophagus.
Make sure that you have dinner at least two hours before your bedtime as this helps keep acidity at bay.

Smartphones…Is it Alright to Tuck Them in to Bed !!!

Gone are the days when Granma’s lullabies put us to sleep, or the days of cute teddy bear’s hugs in bed. The young generations are now taken on to Smartphones to tuck them into bed, literally. A cool infographics by Online Psychology Degree shows the extent Smartphones become indispensible in our daily lives, almost like bodily appendages.

The infographics shows that 90 percent of the young people in the age group of 18 to 29 sleep with their Smartphones; 95 percent of the people use the phone for something just before going to bed; half of the people check their phones immediately if they wake up during the night.

The finding may look staggering about the attachment that have evolved between human and his gadget buddy, and it seems quite okay as consider it as coming of age process but as infographics reveals more about, our body’s physiology is not yet grooved with the change yet.

About 63 percent of the people aren’t getting enough sleep, and too much of screen-time wake reduces melatonin level, the hormone that induces sleep. Not having enough sleep in turn causes stress and depression and also raises heart attack risks by 50 percent.

So this is a wake up call about prioritizing our needs over our wants as infographics puts it “You love your gadgets, but taking them to bed isn’t worth it. When you go to bed say goodnight to your technology too.”

Asparagus Vegetable….Controls Blood Sugar

Scientists found regular intake of Asparagus vegetable keeps blood sugar levels under control and boosts the production of insulin, the hormone that helps body to absorb glucose.

Asparagus (Thanneervittan kizhangu in Tamil), a popular vegetable, could be a powerful new culinary weapon in the fight against diabetes as it controls blood sugar, a new study has found.

Scientists have found regular intake of the vegetable keeps blood sugar levels under control and boosts the production of insulin, the hormone that helps body to absorb glucose.

Type two diabetes, which accounts for 90 per cent of all diabetes cases, is emerging as a major health burden, the ’Daily Mail’ reported.

It can raise the risk of heart attacks, blindness and amputation; however, if doctors catch it early, it can be well controlled with diet and medication.

Once known as ‘late onset’ diabetes, since it only tended to strike from middle-age onwards, doctors are now beginning to see patients in their teens and twenties with the condition.

Scientists at the University of Karachi in Pakistan injected rats with chemicals to induce a diabetic state, with low levels of insulin and high blood sugar content.

They then treated half with an extract from the asparagus plant and the other half with an established anti-diabetic drug, called glibenclamide.

The rats were fed the asparagus extract in small or large doses every day for 28 days. Blood tests were then carried out to measure changes in their diabetes.

The results published in the British Journal of Nutrition, showed low levels of the asparagus suppressed blood sugar levels but did not improve insulin output.

Only high doses of the extract had a significant effect on insulin production by the pancreas, the organ which releases the hormone into the bloodstream.

The findings support earlier studies highlighting the benefits of asparagus.

“This study suggests asparagus extract exerts anti-diabetic effects,” researchers said.

What Future Smartphones might Look Like!!!!!!

 source::::::::siliconindia net

Natarajan

The future has always been something that intrigues us, the fear of the unknown.  Gadgets are devices that keep undergoing various innovations on almost daily basis. The technology like 3G, huge screen smartphones, thin laptops, LTE were something which until few years ago were thought of as being impossible. But like they say “nothing is impossible.”

Here are 5 futuristic smartphones that we wish would become a reality in the years to come!!!!

1. Palm iPhone concept

With the release of iPhone 5 the latest jokes doing the rounds about Apple is that each year they would come out with an iPhone with the exact same features, only difference being that it would be longer. This joke is a bit nasty.

Apple has always been known as a company that innovates.  The new futuristic concept of iPhone is the Palm iPhone. This concept was created by Designer Samuel Lee Kwon. If this gadget becomes a reality you will be able to wear the phone instead of carrying it. The Palm iPhone can be strapped around your wrist. The device comes with a projector that would project the screen on to you r palm. This means that once you wear your smartphone there would be no question of leaving it somewhere in a hurry. The only question is – will Apple work on this concept, and if yes, how soon?

2. Philips Fluid phone

The Philips Fluid Phone’s concept is slightly similar to that of the Palm iPhone. This phone might be a flexible strip which takes the shape of your wrist when not in use and straightens out to become a phone when needed. The screen boasts of a high resolution OLED display screen. If this concept is worked on and developed it could usher in a new era in the gadget world.

3. LG Paper Touch

Thinner, slimmer seem to be the new mantra with the gadget world. We have already seen many such smartphones in the market. Well the electronic company LG is looking to make smartphone with the thinness of a paper. In fact they have already got the concept ready. Along with being thin as a paper you can also fold the phone four times because of the elastomer joints it has.  At every fold the gadget would have different uses. It would serve as a music player or you can even turn it into a flip phone and when opened completely it functions as a tablet.

4. Blue Facebook phone

This is for sure going to be a delight for all the Facebook addicts out there, if this phone actually finds its way into production. This phone would have a complete blue body keeping in mind Facebook’s color. The phone comes with a wedge design. It comes with Facebook buttons like – Like, Notifications etc. The camera with a LED flash allows the user to take pictures and immediately upload them on your Facebook profile.

To make calls you will have to turn the phone and speak as the speaker is located on the reverse side of the phone.

5. Nokia HumanForm

Nokia has developed a transparent phone concept.  Along with transparent concept this futuristic phone also comes with flexible design and can assess the mood of the user. Creepy but true! Nokia is working to make their futuristic smartphone as human as they possibly can.  Along with this, as the phone is flexible you can turn it into various shapes to perform various different commands like; twist the phone to browse and bend it to zoom.  Many times people complain about the phone being stiff. This smartphone looks to address that issue. The phone will take the shape of the ear of the user.

Happy Birthday Windows!!!….You Are 27 Today and still Going Strong!!!!!

The first independent version of the Microsoft Windows version 1.0 released on 20 November 1985 was aWindows graphical user interface (GUI) for its own operating system (MS-DOS), which had shipped for IBM PC and compatible computers since 1981.

The foundation for the world’s software giant rather had a humble beginning. Paul Allen and Bill Gates, as computer enthusiasts were immediately drawn to implementation of the programming language BASICS for the microcomputers, after coming across the January 1, 1975 issue of the Popular Electronics which demonstrated the Altair 8800 a microcomputer. Gates called the creator of the new microcomputer, MITS (Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems) offering a demonstration of their interpreter for Altair, in order to win the contract.

Allen and Gates had neither an interpreter nor an Altair system, yet in the eight weeks before the demo they developed an interpreter. When Allen flew to Albuquerque, New Mexico to meet with MITS, the interpreter worked and MITS agreed to distribute Altair BASIC.

After this success, Allen and Gates co-founded Microsoft. Gross income of the young company was $1 million in 1975. Allen named the company Micro-Soft which stood for microcomputer and software, and later when company went international, Gates took off the ‘hyphen’ and the company then became“Microsoft”.

Windows 1.0 was not a complete operating system, but rather an “operating environment” that extended MS-DOS, and shared the latter’s inherent flaws and problems, and was not a big hit.

This version included simple programs like, graphics painter like Windows Paint; Windows Write, a simple word processor; an appointment “calendar”; a “card-filer”; a “notepad”; a “clock”; a “control panel”; a “computer terminal”; “Clipboard”; and RAM driver. It also included the MS-DOS Executive and a game called Reversi.

Windows evolved over the period, the latest Windows 8 is the master in user interface and cloud connection. Resplendent with app tiles, and robust with OS, is a sure treat for people who like the beauty in sync with computational power.

Here are the 27 amazing facts compiled by Forbes on the occasion of celebrating 27thWindows birthday.

4 Worms in Church Sermon!!!!

source::::: unknown…input from one of my friends….

Four worms and a lesson to be learned!!

A minister decided that a visual demonstration would add emphasis to his Sunday sermon.

Four worms were placed into four separate jars.

The first worm was put into a container of alcohol.

The second worm was put into a container of cigarette smoke.

The third worm was put into a container of chocolate syrup.

The fourth worm was put into a container of good clean soil.

At the conclusion of the sermon, the Minister reported the following results:

The first worm in alcohol .. . . . . . Dead .

The second worm in cigarette smoke . . . Dead .

Third worm in chocolate syrup . . . . Dead.

Fourth worm in good clean soil . . .. Alive …

So the Minister asked the congregation,

“What did you learn from this demonstration?”

Maxine was sitting in the back quickly raised her hand and said . . .

“As long as you drink, smoke and eat chocolate, you won’t have worms!”
