A family went to have the darshan of HH. Along with them, they took one of their family friends who lived in the USA for some decades. The friend did not have any great faith in our religion, system and especially the monks wearing the saffron; he went along with him with utterly non-interested to meet Him. He was under the impression that HH was a fundamentalist, an uneducated monk. This NRI had no great respect at all for Him. Not only that, he uttered such inauspicious things about Him, ‘what does He know? Does He know English?’.

There was a big throng of devotees at the Mutt and the family was standing in a decent distance from Him. As usual, HH saw this family with His graceful eyes, and called all of them near to Him.

They all went near Him, the friend too.

After all the usual courteous enquires towards the family, the Master looked at the NRI friend and asked about his details, including his name, whereabouts, his predecessors, where he is working etc etc.

Then He asked, ‘you are born in India, and you know Tamil; your wife was also born in India and should know the mother tongue. When you two converse will it be in Tamil or English?’

The friend replied ‘We never use Tamil at home, we use only English. The same goes for the kids also.’

Then HH asked, ‘before speaking, you may have to think and conceive the sentence. Is the thought process in Tamil or English?’

The friend replied, ‘That too in English only’.

Some minutes later, an old lady came to HH’s darshan.

HH looked at the NRI person and said, ‘This old lady is now very poor, but once upon a time she was very rich. But even after she lost all the materialistic wealth her devotion towards the Mutt, Acharya and me has never changed even a bit. Could you please tell me what is the English word which will describe this unflinching devotion, which can’t be changed by external situations? I would like to know.’

The man was flummoxed. He thought and thought for a while but did not know that word.

HH told him, ‘please take your time and let me know’.

Even after some time, he couldn’t come up with the required word.

Then HH said, ‘Can I suggest one word? Could you please confirm whether the same can convey this meaning? EQUIPOISED’.

The man was spellbound and fell on HH’s lotus feet for pardon.

HH is SARVAGNAN, He knows everything and He is everything.

Horse Cart Owner “s Ride in A Car of the Devotee of Mahaperiavar !!!!!

Auditor Venugopal was a native of Salem. He was a staunch bhakta (devotee) of Maha PeriyavaaL. He was the auditor of Kanchi Sankara MaTham. It was his custom to say word for word that it was only Maha Periyavaa who guided him to that profession.

As he gained some popularity, Venugopal bought a car. The desire of showing to Maha PeriyavaaL the new car bought for the first time (in his life) rising in his heart, Venugopal was headed straight for Kanchipuram in his car. Only when he parked the car in front of the MaTham did he come to know that the Mahaan was camping in Kalavai! The car then started off its trip to Kalavai.

Parking the car outside where Maha PeriyavaaL was staying, Venugopal went inside the camp.

As he saw Venugopal entering, Maha Periyavaa asked him, “car vAngiyirukkiyo? (So you have bought a car?)”. And that was even before Venugopal started telling the sage about his new car. The auditor was dumbstruck. The Mahaan was one who knew time in all its three tenses.

“Yes”, he said slowly. For a moment he even thought if it was a mistake in buying the new car before he had a word with the Mahaan. But then the Mahaan never found fault with living comfortably within one’s means!

“It is a good thing only. Alright, you do an errand for me now!” said the Mahaan.

The auditor only nodded his head in affirmation, consenting to do an errand for the sage.

“You need to go a little distance from here and turn right. If you go along the road thereafter, you will sight a pond. An old man will be sitting on the banks of the pond. You bring him here in your car. What, will you do it?” The auditor started off even before the Mahaan finished.

Going like an arrow on its course, the auditor found the old man with a beard on the banks of a pond. He did not think if Periyavaa wanted to bring that old man. For he knew that there would be a thousand meanings in what Periyavaa said.

Going near the old man, the auditor spoke to him about the sage’s instructions.

“Did he call me? Then surely I shall come with you”, said the old man. Staggering, he got into the auditor’s brand new car, who took him to the Mahaan’s sannidhi (presence). The old man stood folding his palms before the sage.

“enna saukkiyama irukkiyA? (What, are you doing well?)” was the question Periyavaa asked the old man.

“edo irukkEn (somewhat fine)!”

The MaThams honours were given to the old man in accordance with the directions of the sage. After giving the old man dhoties, shawls and some money for his expenses to the man’s satisfaction, Kanchi Mahaan told the auditor: “Take him and drop him where he wants to alight and then come back!”

A car ride for the old man again. The auditor dropped him as he desired and then came back to the MaTham. He did not ask who that old man was, nor the sage said anything about it. Auditor Venugopal stood before the Mahaan, his hands humbly folded across his chest.

“The man you brought here–do you know who he is?”

The auditor nodded his head to say no.

“When I was a small boy, suddenly one day he brought me in his horse cart. I did not know why at that time. Only after coming here, they said that I was the 68th PIThAdhipati (pontiff)… I did not know Samskrutam at that time… I did not know Vedas… Only after coming over here, all those lessons. How many years have gone by, did you notice it? It was only this periyavar (respectable old man) who brought me here, making me sit inside his horse cart. He also did not know then why they asked for me here! How can I forget him? I suddenly remembered him, which is why I asked you to bring him here in your new car,” said Maha Periyavaa.

காதில் விழுந்ததே !!!….பதில் கொடுத்த மகாபெரியவர் !!!!

காஞ்சி மகானின் கருணைக்கு எல்லையே இல்லை. தனது அத்யந்த பக்தர்கள் தன்னை எந்த நேரத்தில் அழைத்தாலும் அவர்களுக்கு அருளாசி வழங்காமல் இருந்ததே இல்லை.

திரு ராஜகோபாலின் மனைவி கீதா பலவருடங்களுக்கு முன்பு சென்னையில் வசித்துகொண்டிருந்& #2980; சமயம். மகானிடம் பெரும் பக்தி. அவருக்கு மட்டுமல்ல, அவரது குடும்பமே மகானை கண்கண்ட தெய்வமாக வணங்கி வந்தனர் .

ஒரு சமயம் கீதாவின் தந்தைக்கு உடல் நலம் சரியில்லை. எல்லா விதமான மருத்துவ சிகிச்சையும் கிடைக்கசெய்து மசியாத அந்த நோய் அவரை படுத்த படுக்கையாக்கி விட்டது.

மருத்துவ சிகிச்சை தொடர்ந்தாலும் கீதா மகானிடம் வேண்டாத நாளில்லை, இருப்பினும் தந்தையின் உடல் நாளுக்கு நாள் மோசமாகிகொண்டு வர, ஒரு நாள் அவர் மூச்சு விடவே மிகவும் சிரமப்பட்டார். அந்த நிலை நீடித்தால் சில மணி நேரங்களில் அவர் உயிர் பிரிய நேரும்.

பூஜை அறைக்கு போய் மகானின் படத்தின் முன் விழுந்து நமஸ்கரித்துவிட்டு ” இத்தனை நாளாக என் குறையை தீர்த்து வையுங்கள்” என்று கதறிக்கொண்டு இருக்கின்றேனே பெரியவா, உங்கள் காதில் விழவே இல்லையா, என்று கடைசியாக வாய் விட்டு கதறிய போது, வீட்டின் அழைப்பு மணி ஒலித்தது. அங்கே சென்று கதவை திறந்தபோது ” காஞ்சி மடத்தில் இருந்து வருகின்றோம், மகா பெரியவா இந்த பிரசாதத்தை உங்களன்ண்டே கொடுக்க சொன்னார்” என்றனர் வந்தவர்கள்.

காதில் விழவே இல்லையா என்ற குரல் கேட்காமலா இந்த பிரசாதங்களை அனுப்பி இருக்கின்றார்? கண்களில் நீர் பெருக கீதா அவசர அவசரமாக ஸ்ரீ மடத்தில் இருந்து வந்த தீர்த்தத்தை தந்தையின் வாயில் ஊற்ற, அவரது மூச்சு திணறல் நின்றது. அதன் பிறகு அவர் தந்தை நீண்டநாள் சுகமாக வாழ்ந்தார் என்பது தான் வியப்பிற்குரிய விஷயம்.

மகான் தன் பக்தர்களை பற்றி அல்லும் பகலும் நினைக்காமலா இருகின்றார்? “காதில் விழவில்லையா? என்று கேட்டவுடன் காலிங் பெல் சப்தம் கேட்டது எப்படி?

Mahaperiavar”s Words Are Words Of God …..

Once in the year 1959 Kanchi Mahaan camped at Nazarathpet near Chennai. As he needed sandal paste for his puja, he called a man named Ramamurthy and asked him to grind the paste.

The same day he ground sandal paste and gave for puja, Ramamurthy felt some uneasiness in his heart in the evening. He rushed to a doctor and got his health checked.

The doctor said after his tests, “Your heart is weak. You should not carry heavy weights or do strenuous work, especially something like grinding sandal paste.”

Ramamurthy came back to the Mahaan. As the sandal paste was needed on the next day too, the Mahaan called him and gave the work. He said, “ChandraMauleesvara would take care of everything. You grind and give me the sandal paste.”

Unable to disobey the Mahaan’s words, Ramamurthy ground and gave the sandal paste. Again he felt uneasy at heart and told PeriyavaaL what the doctor had said.

“It would be dangerous only if it is a heart attack. If the heart is weak some people might live even up to a hundred years. You do your work, don’t be afraid”, said the Mahaan. Were those not the words of God?

Thereafter Ramamurthy had the bhAgyam of grinding sandal paste for the Mahaan’s puja for a long time. No such uneasiness of heart ever raised its head on those occasions!

அந்த நாட்கள் மீண்டும் வந்திடாதோ?

1930- 1980 வரை பிறந்த நம்மை போன்றவர்களை இந்த கால குழந்தைகள் அல்லது இந்த ஜெனரேஷன் மக்கள நம்மைபற்றி என்ன நினைத்தாலும் கேலி செய்தாலும் நாம் மிக மிக அதிர்ஷ்டகாரர்களே!!!!!

WE ARE AWESOME !!!!
OUR LIFE IS A LIVING PROOF!!!!!

· தனி படுக்கையில் அல்ல!!! அம்மா அப்பாக்கூட படுத்து உறங்கியவர்கள் நாம் தான்!!!

· எந்த வித உணவுப் பொருட்களும் நமக்கு அலர்ஜியாக இருந்ததில்லை.

· கிச்சன் அலமாரிகளில் சைல்டு புருஃப் லாக் போட்டு இருந்ததில்லை.

· புத்தகங்களை சுமக்கும்பொதிமாடுகளா இருந்ததில்லை.

· சைக்கிள் ஒட்டும் போது ஹெல்மேட் மாட்டி ஒட்டி விளையாண்டது இல்லை.

· பள்ளியில் இருந்து வீட்டிற்கு வந்தது முதல் இருட்டும் வரை ஒரே விளையாட்டுதான்!!!! ரூமிற்குள் அடைந்து உலகத்தை பார்ப்பதில்லை.

· நாங்கள் விளையாடியது நிஜ நண்பர்களிடம் தான்!!!! நெட் நண்பர்களிடம் இல்லை!!!!!

· தாகம் எடுத்தால் தெரு குழாய்க்களில் தண்ணிர் குடிப்போம்!!!! பாட்டில் வாட்டர் தேடியதில்லை!!!!

· ஒரே ஜூஸை வாங்கி நாலு நண்பர்களும் மாறி மாறி குடித்தாலும் நோய்கள் எங்களை வந்தடைந்ததில்லை!!!!!

· அதிக அளவு இனிப்பு பண்டங்களையும் தட்டு நிறைய சாதம் சாப்பிட்டுவந்த போதிலும் ஒவர் குண்டாக இருந்ததில்லை!!!!

· காலில் ஏதும் அணியாமல் இருந்து நாள் முழுவதும் சுற்றி வந்தாலும் காலுக்கு ஏதும் நேர்ந்ததில்லை.!!!!

· சிறு விளக்கு வெளிச்சத்தில் படித்து வந்தாலும் கண்ணாடி அணிந்ததில்லை!!!

· உடல் வலிமை பெறஊட்டசத்து பானங்கள்அருந்தியதில்லை .மிஞ்சிய சாதத்தில் ஊற்றி வைத்த நீரைச் சாப்பிட்டே உடல் வலிமை பெற்றவர்கள்!!!!

· எங்களுக்கு வேண்டிய வீளையாட்டு பொருட்களை நாங்களே உருவாக்கி விளையாடி மகிழ்வோம்!!!!

· எங்கள் பெற்றோர்கள் பண வசதி மிக்க லட்சாதிபதிகள் அல்ல!!!! ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் பணம் பணம் என்று அதன் பின்னால் ஒடுபவர்கள் அல்லர். அவர்கள் தேடுவதும் கொடுப்பதும் அன்பை மட்டுமே!!! பொருட்களை அல்ல!!!!

· அவர்கள் தொடர்பு கொள்ளும் அருகாமையில்தான் நாங்கள் இருந்து வந்தோம் அவர்கள் எங்களை தொடர்பு கொள்ள “ஏலேய்ய்ய்” என்ற ஒரு வார்த்தை போதுமானதாக இருந்தது. அதனால் தொடர்பு கொள்ள செல்போனை தேட அவசியமில்லை!!!!

· உடல் நலம் சரியில்லை என்றால் டாக்டர் வீடு தேடி வருவார் >>>டாக்டரை தேடி ஒடியதில்லை!!!!!

· எங்களது உணர்வுகளை போலியான உதட்டசைப்பினால் செல்போன் மூலம் பறிமாறவில்லை!!!!!

உள்ளத்தில் இருந்து வரும் உண்மைகளை எழுத்தில் கொட்டி கடிதமாக எழுதி தெரிவித்து வந்தோம். அதனால் சொன்ன சொல்லில் இருந்து என்றும் மாறியதில்லை.

· எங்களிடம் செல்போன் டிவிடி, ப்ளை ஸ்டேஷன், எக்ஸ்பாக்ஸ், வீடியோ கேம் பெர்சனல் கம்பியூட்டர், நெட், சாட் போன்றவகள் இல்.லை ஆனால் நிறைய நிஜமான நண்பர்கள் இருந்தனர்!!!!!

· வேண்டும் பொழுது நினைத்த நண்பர்கள் வீட்டிற்கு சென்று உணவுண்டு உரையாடி மகிழந்து வந்தோம். அவர்கள் வீட்டிற்கு போவதற்கு போனில் அனுமதி பெற தேவையில்லை!!!!!

· எங்கள் காலங்களில் திறமை மிக்க தலைவர்கள் இருந்தனர். அவர்கள் சமுகத்திற்காக தங்கள் செல்வங்களை செலவிட்டனர் இந்த காலம் போல சமுக செல்வங்களை கொள்ளை அடித்தவர்கள் அல்லர்!!!!!

· உறவுகள் அருகில் இருந்தது உள்ளம் நன்றாக இருந்ததால் உடல் நலம் காக்க இன்சூரன்ஸ் எடுத்தத்தில்லை

· நாங்கள் எடுத்த புகைபடங்கள் கருப்பு வெள்ளையாக இருந்தாலும் அதில் உள்ளவர்களிடம் வண்ணமயமான நல்ல எண்ணங்கள் இருப்பதை உணரலாம். ஆனால் இப்போது எடுக்கப்படும் படங்கள் கலராக இருக்கலாம் ஆனால் அதில் உள்ளவ்ர்களின் எண்ணங்கள் வெள்ளையா இல்லையா என்று சொல்ல முடியவில்லையே !!!!

· இலவசம் பெறும் பிச்சைகாரர்களாக இருந்ததில்லை!!!!!

· சொல்லுங்க நீங்க இப்போ …. அந்த பொன்னான காலங்களில் பிறந்து வளர்ந்த வந்த நாங்கள் அதிர்ஷ்ட சாலிகளா இல்லையா என்பதை !!!!!!!!!!!!

History ….A Quick Look …..an inspirational story …

Sunday, December 7th, 1941–Admiral Chester Nimitz was attending a
concert in Washington, D.C. He was paged and told there was a phone
call for him. When he answered the phone, it was President Franklin
Delano Roosevelt on the phone. He told Admiral Nimitz that he (Nimitz)
would now be the Commander of the Pacific Fleet.

Admiral Nimitz flew to Hawaii to assume command of the Pacific Fleet.
He landed at Pearl Harbor on Christmas Eve, 1941. There was such a
spirit of despair, dejection and defeat–you would have thought the
Japanese had already won the war. On Christmas Day, 1941, Adm. Nimitz
was given a boat tour of the destruction wrought on Pearl Harbor by
the Japanese. Big sunken battleships and navy vessels cluttered the
waters everywhere you looked.

As the tour boat returned to dock, the young helmsman of the boat
asked, “Well Admiral, what do you think after seeing all this
destruction?” Admiral Nimitz’s reply shocked everyone within the sound
of his voice.

Admiral Nimitz said, “The Japanese made three of the biggest mistakes
an attack force could ever make or God was taking care of America.
Which do you think it was?”

Shocked and surprised, the young helmsman asked, “What do mean by
saying the Japanese made the three biggest mistakes an attack force
ever made?” Nimitz explained:

Mistake number one: The Japanese attacked on Sunday morning. Nine out
of every ten crewmen of those ships were ashore on leave. If those
same ships had been lured to sea and been sunk–we would have lost
38,000 men instead of 3,800.

Mistake number two: When the Japanese saw all those battleships lined
in a row, they got so carried away sinking those battleships, they
never once bombed our dry docks opposite those ships. If they had
destroyed our dry docks, we would have had to tow every one of those
ships to America to be repaired. As it is now, the ships are in
shallow water and can be raised. One tug can pull them over to the dry
docks, and we can have them repaired and at sea by the time we could
have towed them to America . And I already have crews ashore anxious
to man those ships.

Mistake number three: Every drop of fuel in the Pacific theater of war
is in top of the ground storage tanks five miles away over that hill.
One attack plane could have strafed those tanks and destroyed our fuel
supply. That’s why I say the Japanese made three of the biggest
mistakes an attack force could make or God was taking care of America
.
Admiral Nimitz was able to see a silver lining in that situation and circumstance
where everyone else saw only despair and defeat.

President Roosevelt had chosen the right man for the right job.

When the whole world is sleeping
HE walks on the deserted street
With few devotees following and
Chanting slokas
For the early morning bath
In the temple pond.

The Sun came out to see HIM
The air breezed to fan HIM
The trees shed their leaves to lay carpet for HIM
The flowers blossomed to welcome HIM
The birds tweeted to greet HIM
The people woke up to bow to HIM.

நம் நினைவில் நிலைத்திருக்கும் வாரியார் !!!!

கிருபானந்த வாரியார் அவர்களின் நகைச்சுவை பொதிந்த சொற்ப்பொழிவுகள், கருத்துக்கள் எக்காலத்துக்கும் நிலைத்து நிற்பவை.
அப்படிப்பட்ட வாரியாரின் கருத்துக்கள் கொஞ்சம் இங்கே உங்கள் பார்வைக்கு.

‘கம்’ முனு இரு: “கம்முனு சும்மா ஒரு. எல்லாம் தானே நடக்கும்” என்று பேச்சுவாக்கில் சொல்வதுண்டு. உண்மையில் “கம்” எனபது விநாயகரின் பீஜ மந்திரம். “ஓம் கம் கணேசாய நம” எனபதாகும். ‘கம்’ என்ற விநாயக மந்திரத்தை உச்சரித்து கொண்டே இருந்தால், எல்லா காரியங்களும் மங்களமாகவே முடியும் என்ப்தே இதன் பொருள்.

உலாவ இடமா இல்லை : “வெள்ளிப் பனிமலையின் மீதுலாவுவோம்” என்று பாடினார் பாரதியார். அங்கு ஏன் உலாவ வேண்டும்? உலாவ பீச், பார்க் என்று எத்தனையோ இடம் இருக்கிறதே? அங்கெல்லாம் உலாவுவோம் என்று ஏன் எழுதவில்லை. காரணம், பாரத தேசத்தின் அந்தப்புற எல்லையாக இருக்கிறது பனிமலை. அங்கே இருப்பவர்கள், நாட்டை காக்கும் இராணுவ வீரர்கள். அவர்கள் எல்லாம் ஒரே இடத்தில் இருந்தால், பகைவர்கள் நுழைந்து விடுவார்களே.அதனால்தான் வெள்ளிப் பனி மலையில் உலாவிக் கொண்டே, நடந்து கொண்டே இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்க்காகத்தான் பாரதி இப்படி பாடினான்.

வேறுபாடு இல்லா பெண் உலகம் : எல்லா வேறுபாடுகளும் ஆண் உலகிலேயே காணப்படுகின்றன. பெண் உலகுக்கு இந்த வேறுபாடுகள் கிடையாது. ஐயர்,செட்டியார்,நாயுடு, முதலியார் முதலிய ஜாதிப் பெயர்கள் எல்லாம் ஆணின் பெயரை ஒட்டியே வருகின்றன. பெண் எந்த ஜாதியை சேர்ந்தவராக இருந்தாலும் மீனாட்சி அம்மாள், காமாட்சி அம்மாள் என்றுதானே வழங்குகின்றன.

அதிகம் எது? : பாண்டவர்கள் ஐந்து பேர். கவுரவர்கள் நூறு பேர். அந்த காலத்திலேயே நல்லவர்கள் ஐந்து பேரும், கெட்டவர்கள் நூறு பேரும் ஆக இருந்தார்கள். இப்போது கேட்கவா வேண்டும்?

கள் தேவை : கள்ளை குடித்தால்தான் போதை எனபது இல்லை. ‘கள்’ என்று சொன்னாலே பலர் மயங்கி விடுகிறார்கள். “நீ” என்பதற்க்கு பதில் நீங்’கள்’ என்று சொல்லிப்பாருங்கள். எல்லாம் அந்த ‘கள்’ செய்யும் வேலைதான்.

சினிமா: இப்போதைய சினிமாக்களை (கவனியுங்க!) பணம் பண்ணும் சாதனமாக ஆக்கிவிட்டார்கள். சினிமாக்கள் மூலம் நல்ல கருத்துக்களை இந்த சினிமாக்காரர்கள் சொல்லாமே? ஏன் சொல்லத் தயங்குகிறார்கள்? நான் ஆயிரம் சொற்பொழிவு நடத்துவதும் சரி, ஒரு நல்ல சினிமா வருவதும் சரி. பணம் சம்பாதியுங்கள். அதே சமயம் சமுதாயத்தையும் உருப்படவிடுங்கள்.

பதவி அலைச்சல்: ராமபிரான், ஆட்சியே வேண்டாம் என்று, பெரிய பதவியை துறந்து தந்தை சொல்லைக் கேட்டு காட்டுக்கு போனார். ஆனால், இப்போது சிலர் பிள்ளையார் கோவில் அறங்காவலர் பதவிக்கே அலையாய் அலைகிறார்கள்.

நாத்திகவாதிகள் வாழ்க: இறைவனை எதிர்த்து பேசி வருவதால், இறைவனின் புகழ் மேலும் வளரும். ஆதலால், இறைவனை எதிர்ப்பவரும் இறைத்தொண்டுதான் செய்கின்றனர். குடையை விரித்து யாரும் சூரியனை மறைத்து விட முடியாது.

கோவில் எதற்கு? : இறைவன் எங்கும் நிறைந்திருந்தாலும், கோவிலில் உள்ள திரு உருவத்தில் விளங்கித் தோன்றுகின்றான். பசுவின் உடம்பில் பாலைப் பெற முயற்சி செய்கின்ற ஒருவன், பசுவின் கொம்பையோ, காதுகளையோ,வாலையோ வருடினால் பால் கிடைக்குமா? எனவே, பசுவின் பால் பெற விரும்புவோன், பசுவின் மடியை வருடிப் பால் பெறுவது போல, இறைவனின் அருளைப் பெற விரும்புவோன், கோவில் சென்று இறைவன் திருமுன் நின்று வழிப்பட்டு திருவருளைப் பெறுதல் வேண்டும்.

வாரியாரின் அர்த்தமிக்க, அற்புதமான கருத்துக்களை உள்ளடக்கிய வார்த்தை விளையாட்டுகள்தான் மக்களிடம் ஆன்மிகம் எளிதாக சென்றடைய காரணம் என்பது உங்களுக்கு விளங்குகிறது அல்லவா?

தன் குரலை வைத்து ‘மிமிக்ரி” செய்பவர்களை (செய்துவருபவர்களை) பற்றி வாரியார் பின்வருமாறு கூறி இருக்கிறார்.

“என் குரலை நிறைய பேர் “மிமிக்ரி” கிண்டல் பண்ணுகிறார்களே. அதை நான் கிண்டல் என்று சொல்லமாட்டேன். கஷ்டப்பட்டு பயிற்சி செய்து என்னைப் போலவே பேசுகின்றார்களே. அதை எண்ணி ஆச்சரியப்படுவேன். பேசினால் பேசட்டுமே. “முருகா,முருகா” என்று அவர்கள் சொல்லித்தானே ஆக வேண்டும். அது அவர்களுக்குப் புண்ணியம் அல்லவா? ”

காஞ்சி மஹா பெரியவர் மீது மிகுந்த பக்தி கொண்டிருந்தனர் அந்த தம்பதியினர். காஞ்சி மஹானை வணங்காமல் எந்த செயலையும் ஆரம்பிக்க மாட்டார்கள். அந்த அளவுக்கு அவர் மீது அவர்களுக்கு பக்தி.

இந்நிலையில் ஒரு நாள், அந்த பெண்மனி கர்ப்பிணி ஆனாள். குழந்தை எந்த பிரச்சினையும் இன்றி ஆரோக்கியமாக பிறக்க வேண்டும் என்று அவர்கள் மஹானை வேண்டாத நாளே இல்லை.

ஒரு நாள் இரவில் நன்றாக தூங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த கர்ப்பிணிப் பெண்ணின் கனவில் நரசிம்மர் தோன்றி, பிறக்கப்போகும் குழந்தைக்கு தனது பெயரை சூட்டுமாறு உத்தரவிட்டார்.

ஆனால், கர்ப்பிணிப் பெண்ணோ, ‘எங்களுக்கு எல்லாமே காஞ்சி பெரியவர்தான். அவர் எப்படிச் சொல்கிறாரோ அதைத்தான் செய்வோம்’ என்று தெய்வத்திடமே வாதிட்டாள் கனவில்.!

நரசிம்மரும் அந்த பெண்ணை அவளது வழிக்கு விடவில்லை. ‘எனது பெயரைத்தான் வைக்க வேண்டும்’ என்று அவரும் உறுதியாக இருந்தார்.

அப்போதே கனவும் கலைந்து விட்டது. விழித்த கர்ப்பிணிப் பெண்ணுக்கு இறைவன் இட்ட உத்தரவை எப்படி நிறைவேற்றுவது என்ற பயம் ஏற்பட்டது. இருந்தாலும், தான் கண்ட கனவு பற்றி கணவரிடம் கூறினாள்.

தொடர்ந்து, இருவரும் காஞ்சி மஹானை கேட்ட பிறகு, அது பற்றி முடிவெடுக்கலாம் என்று தீர்மானித்தனர்.

அடுத்த மாதமே அவர்களுக்கு அழகான ஆண் குழந்தை பிறந்தது. குழந்தைக்கு என்ன பெயர் சூட்டலாம் என்பதை உறுதி செய்ய இருவரும் குழந்தையுடன் காஞ்சி மஹா பெரியவரை பார்க்கச் சென்றனர்.

மஹான் காலடியில் குழந்தையை கிடத்தியவர்கள், மஹான் என்ன சொல்லப் போகிறார் என்பதை கேட்கும் பொருட்டு அமைதியாக நின்றனர்.

கை, காலை உதைத்து சிரித்து விளையாடிக் கொண்டிருந்த அந்த ஆண் குழந்தையைப் பார்த்த மஹா பெரியவர், “பொதுவாக ஒரு குழந்தை பிறந்த பிறகு உரிய சடங்குகள் செய்வார்கள். அதன் பிறகுதான் பெயர் சூட்டுவார்கள். ஆனால், இவன் வயிற்றில் இருக்கும்போதே பெயரை வைத்துக் கொண்டு பிறந்திருக்கிறான். அப்படித்தானே நரசிம்மா ?” என்று கேட்க, குழந்தையின் பெற்றோர் அதிசயித்துப் போய் நின்றனர்.

தாங்கள் கண்ட கனவு பற்றி மஹா பெரியவரிடம் எதுவும் சொல்லாத நிலையில், அவரே கனவில் வந்த நரசிம்மர் கூறியபடி குழந்தையை ‘நரசிம்மா’’ என்று அழைத்ததால் இன்ப அதிர்ச்சிக்கு ஆளாகி, அப்படியே சாஷ்டாங்கமாக மஹா பெரியவரின் காலில் விழுந்தனர்.

An episode as narrated by Dr.S.Kalyanaraman.Neuro Surgeon of Chennai……

With namaskarams to His Holy Feet I wish to record some interesting events that took place during the darshan of His Holiness Sri Sri Chandrasekara Saraswathi Swamigal.

I was a neighbour of “Pradosam Venkatarama Iyer” and because of his association I was drawn towards Maha Periyaval and from that moment the joy and happiness my family members and I have received is beyond words.

Regular darshan and interaction between 1978 and 1984 has made me gain knowledge about many religious activities. I am able to chant many verses and also assist my gurukul at Selaiyur in homas. This is all due to kindness and blessings I have got from Maha Periyaval.

I would like to share some events.

Sri Pradosam Venkatarama Iyer celebrated the Platinum Jubilee Peetarohanam of Maha Periyaval in a very religious manner and a procession was arranged with the Periaval’s photo in a well decorated chariot. The elephant and horse were sent from Mahalakshmi temple at Adyar by Sri Mukkur Srinivasachari. The procession went round “Gangadeeswarar temple” in Egmore and returned.

“Pradosam Uncle” gave me the photo album taken during the occasion and asked me to show it to Maha Periaval who was on his padayatra. As I was fortunate I took it and showed to Maha Periyaval during my darshan. After going through all the photos He returned the album to me and asked me whether the elephant had “Namam” and I replied to His Holiness that Namam was there. He further asked me whether the horse had Namam. I told him that I did not remember this. He asked me to check the album and reply. To everyone’s surprise the horse too had Namam. This revealed the keenness of His Holiness even while glancing through a photo album.

Everyone is aware that devotees throng to have Periyaval’s darshan wherever He stayed. One lady devotee from Mumbai was very regular to have His darshan. On one occasion when the lady devotee came to have His darshan His Holiness called her and asked the following questions.

His Holiness: What is the distance of your husband’s office from your house?

Lady devotee: It is about two Kilometers.

His Holiness:Do you have a telephone in your house?

Lady devotee: No, but my neighbour has a phone and he will call us in case of any emergency.

His Holiness:Then you should at once go back to Mumbai.

Lady devotee: I have come here with an idea of staying 3 or 4 days to have your darshan.

His Holiness: Now you had my darshan. So please go back to your place.

With much hesitation the lady devotee returned home.

After a period of six months the lady devotee came once again to have His darshan and His Holiness enquired about the health condition of the lady’s husband.

Actually what happened is this – the husband of the lady devotee had an accident in his office and the phone intimation was given to lady’s neighbour. His Holiness knew about this and asked the lady devotee to go back. Now, the lady devotee asked His Holiness that as he knew all these things, she said that He could have stopped the incident! His Holiness gently replied saying that things which were going to happen could not be stopped but being a devotee of Kamakshi Amman the repercussions would be small, and that consoled her.

Such kind of acts are innumerable and only one instance has been given here.

Jaya Jaya Shankara, Hara Hara Shankara!
