Message For The Day….Have A Hunger For GOD ….

A child told its mother as it went to bed at night, “Mother, wake me up when I am hungry.” The mother answered, “There is no need, your hunger will itself wake you up.” So too, when the hunger for God arises, it will itself activate you to seek the fulfilment. God has endowed you with hunger and illness, and He provides the food and medicine. Your duty is to see that you get the right hunger and the right illness and use the appropriate food or drug! Man must be yoked to the world and broken; that is the training which will teach that the world is unreal. When you touch fire and get the sensation of burning, you withdraw your hand instantly. Unless you touch it, you will be aware only of its light. It is light and heat both; just as this world is both true and false, that is to say, unreal.

Message For the Day….Leave Everything To God !!!

A brahmin was once crossing a river bed, and some men were washing clothes. Finding a nice new silk shawl on his shoulder, they fell upon him in a group, shouting that it belonged to the palace and had been given to them to be washed, but had been stolen and not been traced. The poor brahmin screamed “Narayana, Narayana” when they rained blows on him. Immediately Lord Narayana rose from His seat, walked forward, stopped and returned to His seat! His surprised consort asked Him the reason for His strange behaviour. Lord Narayana said, “I wanted to help that poor brahmin who has fallen into a den of scoundrels, but he has started beating them blow for blow – My help is no longer needed!” Leaving everything to His will is truly the highest form of devotion and the easiest way to win His Grace.

Message For The Day….God Loves Devotion …

Once, Krishna and Arjuna were walking together, along a beautiful path. Seeing a bird in the sky, Krishna asked Arjuna, “Is that a dove?” Arjuna replied instantly, “Yes, it is a dove.” A few seconds later, Krishna asked, “Arjuna, is that bird an eagle?” Arjuna responded, “Yes Krishna, it is an eagle.” A few seconds later, Krishna asked, “Arjuna, this does not look like an eagle – it looks like a crow to me. Is it not?” Arjuna replied, “Yes Krishna, it is a crow beyond doubt!” Krishna laughed and chided him for agreeing with whatever suggestions He gave. Arjuna responded, “Krishna, for me, your words are far more trustworthy than the evidence of my eyes. When you say something, you have the power to make it so – be it a crow, dove or eagle. Hence, if you said it is a crow, it must be so!” Implicit Faith is the secret to spiritual success. Always remember that the Lord loves, not the devotee but the devotion.

Divine Thoughts of Mahaperiavaa….

” Why do people wrangle saying that one Deity is superior to the rest that the Deity whom they worship alone is the highest ? A bridge across a river has a number of arches . To a man standing under one arch , all other arches will appear smaller than the one he stands under.

This arch will appear to be the biggest to his eyes. Even so, to a votary of a particular deity , all other deities will appear inferior.
But the truth is that the deities are manifestation of ONE GOD . All arches are similarly constructed and have the same dimension and strength and power.”

Message for the Day…GOD is your Goal !!!!

A mother fetching water from the well, will have a pot on her head, another on her hip and a third in her hand, and will be hurrying her way home, as she is always conscious of the infant in the cradle. If she forgets the infant, her gait slows down and she wanders around, chatting with all her friends. Similarly, if God, the Goal, is not cherished in the memory, one has to wander through many births and arrive home late. Hence keep the memory of the Lord and His glory, always with you. That will quicken your steps and you will arrive soon at the goal.

The God-centred person has three qualities: Purity, Perseverance and Patience. – Baba

Message for The Day….Live In God…For HIM and With HIM ….

One must develop deep detachment. There is no use renouncing some food or drink, to which you have become bound, when you hear a discourse, or when some religious text is expounded within hearing. Detach yourself from all that keeps you away from God. Spend more time on meditation or namasmarana, for peace and joy are not to be found in external nature; they are treasures lying hidden in the inner realms of each and everyone. Once they are located, one can never again be sad or agitated. With every inhalation, utter the Name of the Lord. With every exhalation, utter the Name of the Lord. Use this splendid and precious chance in your life to the fullest. Live in God, for Him and with Him.

Silence is Self-Experience!!!!!

source:::::unknown…. input from my friend….

Natarajan

Speech needs company;
silence needs solitude

Speech wants to conquer others;
silence helps conquer oneself

Speech demands respect,
silence commands it

Speech is self -expression;
silence is self-experience

Speech is mind bound,
silence is soul bound

Speech asserts ego;
silence effaces it

Speech dissipates ego;
silence conserves it

Speech is human;
silence is divine

Speech receives appreciation;
silence receives adoration

Great works are inspired by speech
but written in silence

Life is a flower;
silence is its fragrance

We surround ourselves with noise,
because we are uncomfortable with silence.

We fill our lives with distractions,
because we are reluctant to confront

God Is Our Pilot … We are Safe In HIS Hands …

The Pilot.

A priest was on a long flight home after a Church Conference.

The first warning of approaching problems came when the
‘Fasten Your Seat Belts’ sign flashed on.
After a while a calm voice said,
“We shall not be serving beverages at this time as we are expecting a little turbulence.
Please make sure your seat belt is fastened.”

The priest looked around the aircraft and saw that many of the passengers were becoming apprehensive.
Later, the voice on the intercom said,
“We are so sorry that we are unable to serve meals at this time…
The turbulence is still ahead of us.”

And then the storm broke.
The ominous cracks of thunder could be heard even above the roar of the engines.
Lightning lit up the darkening skies, and within moments that great plane was tossed around like a cork in a celestial ocean.
One moment it was lifted on terrific currents of air, the next it fell as if about to crash.

As the priest looked around he could see that nearly
all the passengers were alarmed – except one little girl!

She sat calmly, feet tucked under her, looking at pictures in a book, oblivious of the turbulence around her.
Sometimes she would close her eyes, and then she would go back to her book.

The storm blew over.
When the plane landed and the passengers were disembarking,
the priest approached the little girl and asked her why she was not afraid like the other passengers.

The little girl replied,
“Cause my Daddy’s the pilot and he’s taking me home.”

There are many storms that buffet us…
Physical, mental, financial, domestic and other storms that can darken our skies and throw us into turmoil.

Like the little girl, let us always remember:

Our Father…. GOD… is the Pilot.
He is in complete control… He will take us Home… Don’t worry!

Kaveri Prasanna Maha Ganapathi Temple …

Thiruvaiaru is a ‘punya bhoomi’ with 5 rivers flowing through it ( Cauvery, Kudamuruti, Vadavaru, Vennaru and Vettaru ). About 9 km from here is Thirupoonthuruthi and a nearby village is ‘Nadukkaveri’.

It was the year 1942. The house of Chinnaswamy Iyer. He has a son, Ramachandran and his wife is Sita.They have been married for some time and longing for a child. They are of course devotees of Periyava.

The Maha Swamy visited the village and walked through the length of it with His sishyas and devotees.

At Chinnaswamy Iyer’s house, Sita was busy doing a ‘Kolam’. Periyava, walking at a brisk pace, suddenly stopped near Sita . She was completely taken by surprise and was speechless. With tears in her eyes she prostrated before Periyava. Periva asked her, “Where is your Raman?. Saying that He entered the house, looked around and opened a room (which was actually a dumping place) which had been kept closed for a long time, dusted off the floor with a ‘thundu’ and sat down.

By this time Raman and Sita were there. He looked at Raman and said ‘go get milk from the udders of the cow in a sombu’.

Raman did as was told. Then Periva did japa and told Rama, ‘go to Kudamuruti river, pour some milk in it and the rest on the banks of the river. Dig where you poured the milk and you will hit a basement. There, you build a temple for Vinayaga. You will live happily’. So saying, He got up and left.

Raman did as Periva said, and indeed found the basement and built a Ganesha temple there. Soon after, Sita delivered a male child and they named him ‘Ganesan’.

Well, the temple ? It still stands there in Nadukkaveri – ‘Kaveri Prasanna Maha Ganapthi temple’.
