Just For Laugh !!!!….A Lion”s Share of Joke!!!!!

“Two lions escape from a zoo. One of the lions had been captured from the jungle, so he runs back to the jungle.
The other was born in the zoo itself – so is basically a city-slicker. He vanishes into the city.

Three days later the jungle-lion is recaptured – and returned to the zoo.

A month passes, then two, three….. but city-lion is not traceable!
Finally, after six months the city-lion is also recaptured and brought back to the zoo.

Jungle-lion is amazed to see his friend.

Jungle-lion: For God’s sake, how were you able to evade these guys for 6 whole months?!

City-lion: Kuchh nahi yaar! I just went to a government department, and hid behind a huge pile
of dusty files that they have there.

Jungle-lion: But what did you eat there?

City-lion: Arrey, there was an unlimited supply of government servants. Whenever I ate one,
they hired five more. Nobody did any work anyway, so nobody missed the ones I ate.

Jungle-lion: Wow! But, then how did you get caught?

City-lion: Galti kar gaya yaar…….
On the last day I ate the chai-walla. Now, everyone missed their chai-walla & their chai!
They launched a massive hunt. And I got caught!”

Message For the Day…Try to Understand Others….

A renunciant couple were once proceeding through a thick jungle on a pilgrimage to an inaccessible shrine. The husband saw on the footpath a precious stone, shining brilliantly when the Sun’s rays fell upon it from between the leaves. He hastily threw some sand over it with the movement of his foot, so that his wife may not be tempted to pick it up and become a slave to the tinsel. The wife saw the gesture and chided the husband for still retaining in his mind, a distinction between sand and gold. For her, both were the same. This habit of judging and labelling others is a prevalent practice today. What can you know of the inner working of another’s mind?

Divine Image For the Day….with a Story of Inspiration…..

This is a beautiful story – it might inspire you!
What Good Does The Bhagavad Gita Do?
An old farmer lived on a farm in the mountains with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Bhagavath Gita. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could.
One day the grandson asked, “Grandpa! I try to read the Bhagavath Gita just like you but I don’t understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Bhagavath Gita do?”
The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, “Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water.”
The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house.
The grandfather laughed and said, “You’ll have to move a little faster next time,” and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home.
Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead.
The old man said, “I don’t want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You’re just not trying hard enough,” and he went out the door to watch the boy try again.
At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got back to the house. The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty.
Out of breath, he said, “See Grandpa, it’s useless!” “So you think it is useless?” The old man said, “Look at the basket.”
The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out.
“Son, that’s what happens when you read the Bhagavath Gita. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out. That is the work of Krishna in our lives!”

Message For the Day….Leave Everything To God !!!

A brahmin was once crossing a river bed, and some men were washing clothes. Finding a nice new silk shawl on his shoulder, they fell upon him in a group, shouting that it belonged to the palace and had been given to them to be washed, but had been stolen and not been traced. The poor brahmin screamed “Narayana, Narayana” when they rained blows on him. Immediately Lord Narayana rose from His seat, walked forward, stopped and returned to His seat! His surprised consort asked Him the reason for His strange behaviour. Lord Narayana said, “I wanted to help that poor brahmin who has fallen into a den of scoundrels, but he has started beating them blow for blow – My help is no longer needed!” Leaving everything to His will is truly the highest form of devotion and the easiest way to win His Grace.

Message For The Day…..Divine Bliss is Not For Sale!!!!

You will all doubtlessly agree when I say that Divine Bliss is your greatest need. However, you cannot buy it from anywhere! It has to be earned the hard way, doing good deeds, moving in good company, desisting from evil and keeping the mind attached to the Glory of God. Good and bad cannot be kept together in the same place. The Sun once remarked that he had no enemies left and someone told him that there still was one – Darkness! Then, he sent his rays, the emissaries, to seek out the foe. But wherever they went, they only saw light and darkness was nowhere to be found. They returned and reported – there was no such thing as darkness upon the earth. So too, you must gain victory of good over bad within you by persisting vigorously in your spiritual practices.

The Picture of Son….

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art..

When the Vietnamconflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.

About a month later, just before Christmas,

There was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands..

He said, ‘Sir, you don’t know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly… He often talked about you, and your love for art.’ The young man held out this package. ‘I know this isn’t much. I’m not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this.’

The father

Opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture.. ‘Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It’s a gift.’

The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.

The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings. Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection.

On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his gavel. ‘We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture?’

There was silence…

Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, ‘We want to see the famous paintings. Skip this one.’

But the auctioneer persisted. ‘Will somebody bid for this painting? Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?’

Another voice angrily. ‘We didn’t come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Gogh’s, the Rembrandts. Get on with the Real bids!’

But still the auctioneer continued. ‘The son! The son! Who’ll take the son?’

Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. ‘I’ll give $10 for the painting…’ Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.

‘We have $10, who will bid $20?’

‘Give it to him for $10. Let’s see the masters.’

The crowd was becoming angry. They didn’t want the picture of the son.

They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.

The auctioneer pounded the gavel.. ‘Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!’

A man sitting on the second row shouted, ‘Now let’s get on with the collection!’

The auctioneer laid down his gavel. ‘I’m sorry, the auction is over.’

‘What about the paintings?’

‘I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will… I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings.

The man who took the son gets everything!’

Money is not EVERYTHING.

Alongwith Water , Happiness and Bliss also Gushing out !!!!

It was a hot summer season. Severe water scarcity prevailed in the villages. The rivers and ponds had all dried up. In many homes, even their wells went dry. Whatever water was available, the villagers shared among themselves.

On the request of devotees of a village where there was severe water scarcity, Periva had come to the village and was giving darshan.

Everyone in the village came for darshan – the rich and the poor, the good and the bad, the miser and the philanthropist; everyone.

A very old person had come. The others who were there gave him way, out of respect, to have Periva’s darshan. It was evident that he was an important person in the village.

He paid his obeisance, and stood up.

Periva asked him “What is your age?”

“Me? I am quite old now – eight two years”, replied the old man.

“Sowkiama?” (Is all well with you?), asked Periva.

“No, Sami. Where is the room for happiness? There are quarrels in my family all the time. No one listens to what I say. I am not in good health too. I am living life just for the sake of it”, said the old man.

“You must be very depressed…”

“Yes.., Sami”

“If I show you a way to be happy, will you obey me?”, asked Periva.

“Tell me Sami”, said the old man, eagerly.

“You have fenced the pump-set in your Thottam (field), with the intention that others cannot take even a drop of water. People here are undergoing a lot of hardship for water to drink and cook. You are using the water from your pump-set to water your crops, and your Thottam (field) alone is flourishing. You say that your property and family is not giving you any happiness. Break down the fence around your pump-set. Let all the people take the water. They will all bless you for this and you will find the happiness that you want”.

Tears were flowing down the eyes of the old man.

The villagers who were listening to Periva’s advise stood there stunned!

“None of them had told Periva about the pump-set in the old man’s house (or) that he had fenced it preventing them from fetching water. Nor did they tell Periva that the old man will not hesitate to pick up a fight if they trespassed”. They only prayed for the water crisis to be resolved by Periva’s grace. That’s all.

When Periva was about to leave the place, two youngsters came running. “The old man has taken off the fencing around the pump-set!”, they exclaimed.

Water was gushing from the pump-set.

Happiness and sheer bliss was also gushing from the heart of the old man who had removed the fence, paving way for everyone in the village to use the water.

Periva’s compassion has no boundaries. His Arul (Divine grace) will continue to flow like a river which never runs dry.

Let us Change our Vision….

A millionaire who was bothered by severe eye pain and irritation consulted so many doctors and was getting his treatment done. He consumed heavy dosages of drugs and injections . But the ache persisted with great vigor. One day, a monk who was supposed to be an expert in treating such patients , was called by the millionaire. The monk understood the problem and said that for sometime , the millionaire patient should concentrate only on green color and not to see any other color than the green.

The millionaire got a group of painters and purchased barrels of green color paint and directed that every object , his eyes were likely to see , to be painted green !!!.

When , one day, the monk came to visit the millionaire, , servants of millionaire, ran with buckets of green paint and poured on the monk!!!.. , since the monk was in red dress!!!!

The monk laughed and said ” if only you had purchased a pair of green spectacles worth just a few Rupees , you could have saved these walls, trees, pots, and all other articles and also could have saved a large share of your fortune!!! You can not paint the whole world green !!!”

Moral….Let us change our vision and the world will appear accordingly…It is foolish to shape the world . Let us shape ourselves first. Let us change our vision…. Think simple and live simple….

Message For The Day… Remember The God with Love ….

Lord Jesus Christ gave the following example while teaching His fishermen disciples: ‘In a river the water is flowing in a swift current. But the tiny fishes are able to swim in it and move about merrily, despite the speed of the current. In the same river, a huge elephant caught in the rapids, is likely to get washed away or drowned in spite of its enormous size. The elephant just cannot survive there! The reason is: What you need for survival in a river is not being large, but the ability to swim. Likewise a person who is caught up in the ocean of worldly existence needs, not so much metaphysics, scholarship or wealth, as much as the grace of Divine love.’ Without any knowledge of Vedanta, one can still surmount all the problems of life if one is blessed with God’s love. Hence, remember the Lord with Love, worship Him with Love and sanctify your life with Love.
