“POSTAL INDEX NUMBER ”

SILENCE IN COURT!!!!!!
These are from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters.
ATTORNEY: What was the first thing your husband said to you that morning?
WITNESS: He said, ‘Where am I, Cathy?’
ATTORNEY: And why did that upset you?
WITNESS: My name is Susan!
____________________________________________
ATTORNEY: What gear were you in at the moment of the impact with the other vehicle?
WITNESS: Gucci sweats and Reeboks.
____________________________________________
ATTORNEY: This myasthenia gravis, does it affect your memory at all?
WITNESS: Yes.
A TTORNEY: And in what ways does it affect your memory?
WITNESS: I forget.
ATTORNEY: You forget? Can you give us an example of something you forgot?
___________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Now doctor, isn’t it true that when a person dies in his sleep, he doesn’t know about it until the next morning?
WITNESS: Did you actually pass the bar exam?
____________________________________
ATTORNEY: The youngest son, the 20-year-old, how old is he?
WITNESS: He’s 20, much like your IQ.
__________________________________________
ATTORNEY: She had three children, right?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: How many were boys?

ATTORNEY: Were there any girls?
WITNESS: Your Honor, I think I need a different attorney. Can I get a new attorney?

ATTORNEY: How was your first marriage terminated?
WITNESS: By death.
ATTORNEY: And by whose death was it terminated?
WITNESS: Take a guess.
____________________________________________
_____________________________________
ATTORNEY: Is your appearance here this morning pursuant to a deposition notice which I sent to your attorney?
WITNESS: No, this is how I dress when I go to work.
_______________________ _______________
ATTORNEY: Doctor, how many of your autopsies have you performed on dead people?
WITNESS: All of them. The live ones put up too much of a fight.
_________________________________________
ATTORNEY: ‘ALL your responses MUST be oral, OK? What school did you go to?’
WITNESS: ‘Oral’
_________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?
WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 PM
ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time?
WITNESS: If not, he was by the time I finished.
____________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Are you qualified to give a urine sample?
WITNESS: Are you qualified to ask that question?
______________________________________
ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
ATTORNEY: I see, but could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless?
WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law.

A Swedish woman has discovered her wedding ring on a carrot growing in her garden, 16 years after she lost it, says a newspaper.
Lena Paahlsson had long ago lost hope of finding the ring, which she designed herself, reports Dagens Nyheter.
The white-gold band, set with seven small diamonds, went missing in her kitchen in 1995, she told the paper.
Although the ring no longer fits, she hopes to have it enlarged so she can wear it again.
Mrs Paahlsson and her family live on a farm near Mora in central Sweden.
She took the ring off to do some Christmas baking with her daughters, but it disappeared from the work surface where it had been left, she explained to Dagens Nyheter.
The family searched everywhere and years later took up the tiling on the floor during renovations, in the hope of finding the ring.
It was not until 16 years later when Mrs Paahlsson was pulling up carrots in her garden that she noticed one with the gold band fastened tightly around it.
Lena Paahlsson and husband Ola say it is incredible that the ring has been found“The carrot was sprouting in the middle of the ring. It is quite incredible,” her husband Ola said to the newspaper.
The couple believe the ring fell into a sink back in 1995 and was lost in vegetable peelings that were turned into compost or fed to their sheep.
“I had given up hope,” Mrs Paahlsson told Dagens Nyheter, adding that she wanted to have the ring adjusted to fit her.
“Now that I have found the ring again I want to be able to use it,” she said.
Lena Paahlsson says the ring was on a small carrot she was about to discard!!!!!

Workers at Berlin Brandenberg airport are unable to turn off the lights. Picture: Berlin Brandenberg airport
BERLIN’S Brandenberg airport has a small problem.
There’s no way to turn off the lights in the brand new building.
Technical director Horst Amann told German news service Spiegel.de: “We haven’t progressed far enough with our lighting system that we can control it.”
Sky News reported that the cost of the project has doubled original estimates, now standing at $5.45 billion.
Yes, although they have spent $5.45 billion on the building there is no way to turn off the lights. No light switches at all.
The construction site that will eventually become the Berlin International Airport was originally scheduled to begin operations in October 2011. Since work started construction shortcomings, design errors and technical glitches have been found.
No opening date has been set and project directors are refusing to even estimate when it may open.
“I will only name a date when I can take responsibility for it,” Mr Amann said…

Okawa was born on March 5, 1898 and married in 1919. She had three children, two of whom – a son and a daughter – are still alive and in their 90s.
The centenarian, who has four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, has reportedly never had any major health problems, but broke her leg aged 102.
The world’s oldest living person is a 115-year-old man who lives in Kyoto, not far from Okawa. He will turn 116 in April.

Maha Periavaa was giving dharshan to a queue of devotees.
Suddenly Periva asked a devotee when his turn came, to show his wrist watch. His Holiness enquired in detail about the make, model, cost, etc. of the wrist watch. But without giving it back to the devotee he placed it near Himself.
Likewise he did the same to the next few devotees. There gathered a collection of wrist watches.
Next was the turn of a father-son-duo. His Holiness asked them to take whatever wrist watch they liked among the collection and it is theirs.
The duo immediately fell on the feet of His Holiness and cried for pardon.
The duo had earlier rejected a girl’s marriage proposal for not being able to provide the wrist watch demanded by the duo.
What a gentle and powerful way of correcting a wrong!
