And Something That Will Refresh Us In Return..
And It Can Be Found In Each Of Us,
And It Can Bring Light Into The Darkest Of Places!!.

Temple images

Learn From Singapore !!!!!

source:::::: T.N. Ninan iN Business Standard…
Natarajan

A friend with a business base in Singapore once got a call from the island-state’s tax authorities; they wanted to pay him a visit. Being an Indian, he was naturally alarmed at the prospect, so he got his assistant to say he was not in the office. The next day the call came again; among the thoughts that now crossed his mind was to catch the first flight out of Singapore, for fear of the local taxman. It eventually turned out to be a taxwoman, smartly dressed in a business suit and armed with a briefcase. After the initial introductions, they sat down and the lady told the businessman that the Singapore tax authorities were very happy with his record as a corporate citizen who paid his taxes. She had come to express the tax department’s appreciation. She then snapped open her briefcase, pulled out a Montblanc pen, reached across and offered it to the businessman as a gift from the tax authorities. “I could have fainted,” he recalled. She also left behind her business card; “Call me if you have any problems on taxes,” she said as a parting word !!!!

” Pegasus”… Amazing Wildlife Photograph!!!!!

Pegasus

we have this amazing photograph, by Jagdeep Rajput aptly titled  ‘Pegasus’.

This stunning image of a nilgai and a Sarus Crane spreading its wings instantly brought to mind the winged horse of Greek legend.

The nilgai Boselaphus tragocamelus is a commonly seen antelope in central and northern India, as well as parts of Pakistan and Nepal. A habitat generalist, it avoids dense forests, but occupies open grasslands and the wetlands that are favoured by the Sarus Crane Grus antigone, the world’s tallest flying bird with wingspans that can exceed 2.5 m.

The story of this image involves a nilgai that approached a Sarus Crane nest in which an egg had been laid. The photographer captured the image in the Keoladeo National Park, Bharatpur, at the instant the bird was chasing the antelope away!

Message For the Day…. In Silence You Will See God ….

You can feel the presence of God, in the depth of silence. In the excitement, clutter and confusion of the marketplace, you cannot hear His gentle footsteps. He resounds with clarity, when all is filled with silence. Hence I insist on silence, practice of soft speech and minimum sound. Talk little, talk in whispers, sweet and true. When you want to place a heavy thing on the ground, place it with care, do not drop it and create noise around you. Bend a little, keep it softly and gently on the floor with care. Similarly examine each and every act of yours and see to it that you execute it softly and silently. Transact all dealings with minimum speech and eliminate noise. Do not shout to persons standing far, go near them or beckon them to approach you. Loud noise is a sacrilege on the sky, just as there are sacrilegious uses of earth and water.

No Fast Food at Our Times !!!… Only Slow Food !!!!

source:::: input from my brother who is younger to me ….a true reflection of good old days !!!!!
Natarajan

If you grew up in a generation before there was fast food, you may want to share some of these memories with your children or grandchildren. Just don’t blame me if they bust a gut laughing.

Growing up isn’t what it used to be, is it?

Someone asked the other day, ‘What was your favourite ‘fast food’ when you were growing up?’
‘We didn’t have fast food when I was growing up,’ I informed him.
‘All the food was slow.’
‘C’mon, seriously.. Where did you eat?’
‘It was a place called ‘home,” I explained. !
‘Mum cooked every day and when Dad got home from work, we sat down together at the dining room table, and if I didn’t like what she put on my plate, I was allowed to sit there until I did like it.’

By this time, the lad was laughing so hard I was afraid he was going to suffer serious internal damage, so I didn’t tell him the part about how I had to have permission to leave the table.

But here are some other things I would have told him about my childhood if I’d figured his system could have handled it:

Some parents NEVER owned their own house, wore jeans, set foot on a golf course, travelled out of the country or had a credit card.

My parents never drove me to school… I had a bicycle that weighed probably 50 pounds, and only had one speed (slow)..

We didn’t have a television in our house until I was 15!!!!
It was, of course, black and white, and the station went off the air at 10 PM, after playing the national anthem and epilogue; it came back on the air at about 6 am. And there was usually a locally produced news and farm show on, featuring local people….

Pizzas were not delivered to our home… But milk was.

How many do you remember?
Headlight dip-switches on the floor of the car.
Ignition switches on the dashboard.
Trouser leg clips for bicycles without chain guards.
Soldering irons you heated on a gas burner.
Using hand signals for cars without turn indicators.

Older Than Dirt Quiz:
Count all the ones that you remember, not the ones you were told about.. Ratings at the bottom

1. Sweet cigarettes
2. Coffee shops with juke boxes
3 . Home milk delivery in glass bottles
4. Party lines on the telephone
5. Newsreels before the movie
6. TV test patterns that came on at night after the last show and were there until TV shows started again in the morning.
(There were only 2 channels [if you were fortunate])
7. Peashooters
8. 33 rpm records
9. 45 RPM records
10. Hi-fi’s
11. Metal ice trays with levers
12. Blue flashbulb
13. Cork popguns
14. Wash tub wringers

If you remembered 0-3 = You’re still young
If you remembered 3-6 = You are getting older
If you remembered 7-10 = Don’t tell your age
If you remembered 11-14 = You’re positively ancient!

I must be ‘positively ancient’ but those memories are some of the best parts of my life. I am sure People of my age group will tend to agree with my views …
