Message for the Day…” How ‘shavam'(corpse) can become Shivam(God)”…

The chief objective of all Sadhana (spiritual striving) is to eliminate the mind, to become A-manaska. Then illusion will disappear and Reality will be revealed. During the dark fortnight of the month, Sadhana must be done to eliminate a fraction of the mind each day; for, every day, a fraction of the Moon is shrinking. On Chathurdasi (the 14th night), the night of Shiva, only a fraction of the moon remains. If some special effort is made that night, through more intensive and vigilant Sadhana, like pujajapamdhyana (ritual worship & meditation), success is ensured. Hence, Shiva must be meditated upon that night, every month, without the mind straying towards thoughts of sleep or food. Once a year, on Mahashivaratri, a special spurt of spiritual activity is recommended, so that the Shavam (corpse) can become Shivam(God), through perpetual awareness of its Divine Indweller. Dedicate the vigil of this Shivaratri night to the Shiva present within each one of you.

Message For the Day…” Meditation Means Offering the Flower of Love to the Divine…”

Meditation is a process that takes place beyond the senses. Consider a rose plant with branches, leaves, flowers and thorns. Locating a rose plant with a flower in a garden requires concentration. Once we have concentrated and identified the flower, the next stage is to pluck it without the thorns. Love is the flower, lust is the thorn. We have to carefully pluck the flower, without the thorn. This is contemplation. Having plucked the flower, what do we do with it? We must offer it to the Lord. Thus, meditation means offering the flower of love to the Divine. In the rose plant of our body, there is the rose of pure and sacred love, emitting the fragrance of good qualities. Below the rose, however, there are thorns in the form of sensual desires. The purpose of this life and meditation is to separate the rose of selfless Love from the senses and offer it to the Lord.

“Pongal or Khichadi “…. A Spiritual Diet !!!

What’s So Amazing about Khichidi?

Via Dr. John Douillard, DCon Mar 21, 2013

Above all other Indian meals, there is one which is considered to help facilitate spiritual growth.
It is the Ayurvedic detox food—but it can also be found on many dinner tables on a normal day, as it is loved for other reasons, as well.
Khichadi, pronounced kich-ah-ree and sometimes spelled “kitchari” or “khichdi,” has long been used to nourish babies and the elderly, the sick and the healthy during special times of detox, cleansing and deep spiritual practice.
A simple, porridge-like blend of beans and rice, khichadi is often referred to as the Indian “comfort food.” But perhaps contrary to the western idea of comfort food or even health food, khichadi has many nourishing and cleansing benefits.
Join me as I investigate the subtle magic of khichadi, its profound benefits, and a simple recipe to enjoy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3HghDiIvBQ
The term khichadi is used to describe any dish made with a mixture of rice and beans. For the traditional, cleansing khichadi, split yellow mung beans were used along with a long grain white or basmati rice, and a blend of traditional Indian spices. Let’s take a look at the constituents of khichadi on their own before we talk about how to blend them together.
Why White Rice?
The first question you might ask is, why white rice? During a cleanse, the metabolism slows down and the digestive strength weakens, so any food eaten must be very easy to digest.
During a cleanse, long-grain white rice may be preferable for ease of digestion.
For khichadi, white rice is used because the husk has been milled off to make the rice easier to digest. While brown rice may be used – and will actually supply more nutrients – the husk makes brown rice much harder to digest. During cleansing, a time of already compromised digestion, this can irritate the intestinal wall and cause digestive gas or abdominal pain.
Traditionally, farmers would bring their rice to the miller and have the rice de-husked based on their needs. If someone was sick, elderly, or there was a baby in the house, all of the husk would come off, making white rice for the ease of digestion. Brown rice was used only if digestive strength was optimal or when funds were short, as it was expensive to have the rice prepared and de-husked.
Typically, long grain white rice was used over short grain rice because it was believed to be more nutritious. Even without the husk, it was considered a more stable food than short grain rice. Now, studies have shown that long grain white rice has a lower glycemic index than short grain rice.
Why Split Yellow Mung Beans?
To be called khichadi, the rice has to be cooked with a legume. Traditionally, that legume was split yellow mung dahl beans. These are the only legumes that are classified as “vata balancing” in Ayurveda. This means that, unlike every other type of beans or lentils, they will not produce any intestinal gas.
Split yellow mung beans also have their husk naturally removed. When they are split, the husk, which is very hard to digest and gas producing, naturally falls off. This process naturally renders them much easier to cook, digest, and assimilate.
A Perfect Protein
The combination of rice and beans has been a staple around the world for 10,000 years, and for good reason. You have probably heard the term “complete protein,” but let’s take a minute to really understand what that means.
There are 20 amino acids that combine with one another to make the proteins the body needs. 10 of them, the body can synthesize on its own. The other 10, called essential amino acids, the body does not make, meaning we must get it from our foods. Animal proteins are “complete” in that they contain all ten essential amino acids, but plant foods need to be combined to make a “complete protein.”
According to Ayurveda, split yellow mung beans are the one type of beans or lentils that will not produce gas.
Rice, like most grains, is very low in the amino acid lysine. As a result, if you live on grains alone, you will likely become protein deficient. Legumes and lentils, on the other hand, have lots of lysine, but they are generally low in methionine, tryptophan and cystine. Fortunately, grains are high in these three amino acids.
So the marriage of rice and beans, as found in khichadi, has been providing the 10 essential amino acids and making complete proteins for cultures around the world for thousands of years. For cultures that have subsisted on a plant-based diet, this marriage is often what allows their diet to be nutritionally sustainable.

Khichadi for Cleansing
During a cleanse, it is essential to have adequate protein to keep the blood sugar stable and the body burning fat.
One of the most common reasons folks have trouble with cleansing is due to unstable blood sugars made worse by the detox process. During a fast, for example, you are asked to drink only water, juice or veggies. For many, this type of austere fasting can be a strain and deplete blood sugar reserves. Then folks get really hungry, irritable, and end up with a low blood sugar headache or crash. While the goal of a fast is to shift the body into fat metabolism and detox the fat cells, this will not happen if the body is under stress and strain as a result of a difficult fast.
Here’s the basic equation:
Stress = Fat storing
No Stress = Fat burning
If you are attempting to detox heavy metals, preservatives, chemicals, pesticides and environmental toxins from your fat cells with a cleanse, make sure that you are not straining, or the amount of fat burned will be minimal.
Khichadi provides nourishment in the form of a complete protein that will keep the blood sugars stable during a cleanse. Otherwise, ironically, the body may react to the cleanse as a fat-storing emergency!
The goal of any effective cleanse should be to convince the body and the cells that life is not an emergency and that it is okay to burn that stored fat and release toxins. During a khichadi cleanse, you are eating this complete protein three meals a day, so there is no starvation response whatsoever. In fact, I always say that during our Colorado Cleanse and Short Home Cleanse, if you are straining or hungry than you are not getting the optimal benefits. The more comfortable you are the more fat you will burn.
Khichadi to Heal the Gut
In India, khichadi is often the first food for babies, not only because it is so easy to digest, it alsoheals and soothes the intestinal wall.
With 95 percent of the body’s serotonin produced in the gut, it is clear we process our stress through the intestinal wall. Chronic stress will irritate the intestinal wall and compromise digestion, the ability to detoxify through the gut, and cope with stress. During a Khichadi cleanse, the digestive system can heal. While we offer four dietary options in our Khichadi cleanses, eating just khichadi as a “mono diet” allows much of the digestion to be at rest during the cleanse, providing the nutrition needed to heal the gut and nourish the body.
Spiritual Practice and Deep Inner Calm
The state of fat metabolism facilitates a deep inner calm, making it the natural state for spiritual inquiry and practice. For this reason, khichadi was also fed to monks and ascetics to help
Having adequate protein to maintain blood sugar stability during a cleanse can facilitate feelings of inner peace and calm.
create a sense of stillness in which we gain greater access to old toxic emotional and behavior patterns. This is also why khichadi is the food of choice of Panchakarma, Ayurveda’s deepest detox retreat.

“Hanuman Chalisa” Tells You the Distance Between Earth and Sun !!!

Any one knows the Hanuman chalisa? In Hanuman Chalisa, it is said :
“Yug sahastra yojan per Bhanu!
Leelyo taahi madhur phal janu!!

1 Yug = 12000 years
1 Sahastra = 1000
1 Yojan = 8 Miles

Yug x Sahastra x Yojan = par Bhanu
12000 x 1000 x 8 miles = 96000000 miles

1 mile = 1.6kms

96000000 miles = 96000000 x 1.6kms =
1536000000 kms to Sun

NASA has said that, it is the exact distance between Earth and Sun (Bhanu).
Which proves Hanuman ji did jump to Planet Sun, thinking it as a sweet fruit (Madhu phal)..

It is really interesting how accurate and meaningful our ancient scriptures are..Unfortunately barely it is recognized, interpreted accurately or realized by any in today’s time…

GAYATRI MANTRA”  the most powerful hymn in the world
Dr.Howard Steingeril,
an american scientist, collected Mantras, Hymns and invocations from all over the world and tested their strength in his Physiology Laboratory…

Hindus’ Gayatri Mantra produced 110,000 sound waves /second…

This was the highest and was found to be the most powerful hymn in the world.
Through the combination of sound or sound waves of a particular frequency, this Mantra is claimed to be capable of developing specific spritual potentialities.
The Hamburg university initiated research into the efficacy of the Gayatri Mantra both on the mental and physical plane of CREATION…

The GAYATRI MANTRA is broadcasted daily for 15 minutes from 7 P.M. onwards over Radio Paramaribo, Surinam, South America for the past two years, and in Amsterdam, Holland for the last six months.

“Om Bhoor Bhuwah Swah, Tat Savitur Varenyam, Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi, Dhiyo Yo Nah Pra-chodayaat !”

“It’s meaning:
God is dear to me like my own breath, He is the dispeller of my pains, and giver of happiness.
I meditate on the supremely adorable Light of the Divine Creator, that it may inspire my thought and understanding.”

Message For the Day…” Whatever HE gives Accept It…”

The path to God is difficult, but you can win. Let God do whatever He wants. Surrender to Him and say, “I brought nothing with me! Whatever You have given me, I offer it back to You.” You may think your parents gave you the body. Who put life into your body? Who makes your heart tick incessantly? You may feed the body with tasty food but who digests all the food you eat? Who is the driving force behind the circulation of blood? God Himself regulates every single act within every living being. The eye that is not even an inch long can clearly perceive the stars, far away in the sky. Who gave this little eye, this big strength and power? God alone has conferred and is conferring everything upon you. With your little ego, you are confused that you are the doer. This is the greatest ignorance. Whatever He gives, accept it, it is for your highest good

Message For the Day…” Take Good Care of Your Mind …”

Consider your physical body a chariot. Just as the horse is important for the chariot, your mind is the most important thing for your body. What is the point if the chariot is very tastefully decorated and the horse is starved? Today, many of you are caring so much for the body and entirely neglecting the mind. Many have a very good, soft bed and stay in air-conditioned rooms, yet their body feels the heat and the mind is suffering from restlessness, with no peace of mind. Why? You are caring so much for the body and neglecting the mind. Take good care of the mind. If you do so, even if you go to a forest, it will be for-rest! The most appropriate food for your mind are virtues, good feelings, good conduct and good thought. Feed the horse well, the chariot will run! So too, take good care of your mind, you will be happy and peaceful

Message for the Day…” God is Giving us Everything with many Hands…”

There was once an old woman in Paris. It was winter and December was around the corner. Many poor people were sleeping on the streets and shivering with cold. She went around the streets and covered them with a blanket. She completed the job without any fuss or noise. Over time, the people in the town came to know about it. They wondered why this humble old woman who was herself struggling to make her ends meet setting out to help others! When children used to ask her, “Grandma, why are you walking with your head down? You are a great person!” she would respond humbly, “God is giving us everything with many hands, and I am giving with a single hand. Is that not a shame for me?” Many great people world over, have placed before us the high ideals of charity

Experience of A Devotee…” Naan Irukken Paathukkaren …”

OM SRI GURUPYO NAMAHA:,RESPECTFUL PRANAMS TO SRI KANCHI MAHA PERIVA.

My name is Madhu and my grand mother’s Athai’s daughter is Pollachi Paatti.

Once Pollachi Paati told Him that I am suffering and fighting for life due to the disease called Hemangioma which is an abnormal buildup of blood vessels in the skin or internal organs. The symptoms of which are a red to reddish-purple, raised sore (lesion) on the skin. The doctor had also given up and said I cannot survive.

Then Mahaswamigal told my Paati, “Naan irrukken.. Naan andha kuzhandhaiyai paathukkaren… I am there, I will take care of that child!”From the moment That Sarveshwaran laid His eyes on on me all my physical problems slowly started disappearing and I became alright gradually.
I do remember Mahaswamigal enquring about me with kindness, “How are you?” ie “eppadi irukke?” He also used to give me orange prasadam. I do not remember what I spoke to Him. But my grandmother and others say that I used to converse with Him like a friend sharing all my feelings. Like, “I have pain here, and You have to save me! Some people are asking what is on my face and are making make fun of me etc..” He just listened to me and said, “Do not worry, My child!”.

Once when I was much younger, Mahaswamigal rolled Kalkandu from the window. I quickly grabbed and touched his hand by mistake. Everyone was shocked but He did not do Snanam and said, “No problems!”.

I was ten years old When He attained Siddhi. I felt like my heart had stopped for a second when I saw Him being placed in a chair after His Siddhi.

My son was born last year. I had prayed to offer Elakkai garland at His Adhistanam after his punyajanam ceremony. But since I was awake the whole night for my baby I could not do that. So I was a little upset that I could not make the garland. When we finished dharshan at His Adhistanam, we got the blessings of Bala Periyava also.

At that time He called us again and gave us an Elakkai Maalai. I was simply stunned and I just wept. How did Bala Periyava come to know about the Elakkai Maalai?… Sarveshwara.

Then I believed in true devotion to our Gurus Mahaswamigal and our Periyavas. They will never let us down. All we have to do is to hold on to Their Lotus Feet tightly, whether we are sad or happy.

My parents, husband, my child, my extended family and every person that I meet in my life I see them in the form of Mahaswamigal. And He is right there to protect me wherever I go.

Message For the Day…” Cultivate the Habit of Sharing with others…”

Always help the poor and those suffering and in distress. Once upon a time, in Tamil Nadu, lived a poet saint who squatted on the small veranda of his hut and chanted beautiful songs to the Lord. One day, it was raining heavily. Another man came and asked him if he could also take shelter there. The devotee said, “There was place just enough for me to stretch out, but now that you are here we will both sit erect.” Later, another man stopped by and asked for shelter. The devotee again agreed saying, “There was place for the two of us to sit. Now that you also have joined, let us all stand.” He thus taught the principle of helping everyone and not sending anyone away who needed help, even when the means are limited. Cultivate this attitude of sharing with others any good thing you have. Thus you can practice daily, the great principle of finding God in every being.
