When plans are laid by the rulers for the uplift of the people and for training the children of the land, I want that the ancient wisdom of Bharath, still preserved and practised by scholars, be consulted. That will keep the keel of the ship straight. I want that the knowledge embodied in the Upanishads should be handed down to everyone. Bhakthi or devotion-directed education must take precedence over the Bhukthi or enjoyment-directed learning that prevails today in most countries of the world. Bhakthi is the yearning which goads you onto the spiritual discipline which will endow you with the Supreme Wisdom. Have both – faith and steadiness – in this pursuit, and you will win.

7 “C” s Of Happiness !!!!
What are the critical ingredients for experiencing genuine happiness? Here are seven elements of life that I believe are essential to the attainment of human happiness. I call them the “7 C’s in the pursuit of happiness.” One is not more important than any of the others.
1 -Compassion
In order to evolve into a state of happiness, you must develop your in-born ability to care about life, to value life in all its forms, to engage in loving, kind actions, to cultivate an attitude of what Nobel laureate, Dr. Albert Schweitzer called “reverence for life,” (including your own).
2 -Contentment
Inner calm. Peace of mind and heart does not mean acceptance of everything that happens. It does mean letting go of fear. When you live life fearlessly, you experience a kind of peace that permeates every cell of your body, every thought of your mind, every emotion of your heart, every element of your spirit.
3 -Connection
Without effectively connecting to other humans, you become less than human yourself. Connection means involving yourself in relationship to everyone around you, connecting to your own inner life, and becoming aware of the environment in which you live. Learn to create high-quality relationships, and your happiness is almost guaranteed.
4 -Communication
Communication is our primary method for connection. It increases your knowledge, your understanding, and your awareness. Language is precious. Words are the building blocks of all happiness.
5 -Commitment
Oprah Winfrey says that what motivates her to get up in the morning is “my commitment to my life and fulfilling my life purpose.” If one of your life’s purposes is to enhance your happiness, committing your life to the service of others brings more happiness than you can imagine. Happiness requires you commit yourself to something larger than yourself.
6 -Consciousness
Most spiritual teachers believe we are living in a sleep-like or dream state. In order to be happy, one must increase one’s awareness of life. And the single awareness that is most conducive to happiness is: the impermanence of everything. Life is in a constant state of flux, of change, of rhythm and of evolution.
7 -Creativity
Creating your life experience by consciously choosing your thoughts, your actions, your decisions and your attitudes will allow you to attain personal happiness regardless of external circumstances.
The pursuit of happiness is not something you search for or attain from outside your skin. Happiness develops from within. You were born to be happy. You were given life to experience happiness. Pursuing it is your right. Sail the 7 C’s of happiness and the pursuit of it becomes obvious and being alive becomes the happiest of moments

” For You I will Be The Guru “…Mahaperiavar….
Of the many occasions I had visited this great Mahan, I used to stand alone by the side and watch for a few hours many mortals come and go. On one occasion, He noticed me standing in a corner and wondering why I am just standing allowing all others to come and go, He asked His sincere devotee, Balu mama:
“Why is he standing there? Does he want anything? Ask him.”
Balu mama came and asked me,
“Periyavaa wants to know is there anything you want. Why are you just looking at Him and not coming to have the Prasadams?”
I told Balu mama (most of the time tears of joy used to roll down my eyes), “Every time I come here I have witnessed a rare incident between Periyavaa and His staunchest devotee. So today also I am just waiting in the side lines for one.”
Periyavaa overheard this and He said smilingly, “Let him wait for a few more minutes and one such incident is about to happen!”
Many men and women passed by.
Sooner a lady, Saroja, came to see Periyavaa.
She hesitated a bit to go near Him.
Periyavaa asked Balu mama to ask her ‘what she wants’.
She replied to Balu Mama :”I am coming here for the first time. I have heard from my neighbours in Hyderabad talking so much about this Mahan. So I came to have His darshan”
Periyavaa smiled and asked her,
“There is something more than the Darshan you are trying to seek from me!”
She started weeping like a small child. She must be around 55 Yrs Old!
“Yes Swamiji. I am really unable to bear the agony.”
“You must be a Dwaithin..”Swamiji said, meaning she is an Iyengar lady.
She was startled to know that: “Yes Swamiji..Indeed Yes.”and her weeping power overtook her much more to the dismay of all around!
Swamiji asked her:”What is that which is worrying you inside?”
She started narrating in-between her weeps:
“I have been sincerely following one Saint for more than 25 yrs now. I never found anything wrong with him and I have gone to Sanmarga only through this Guru. But of late I have found my Guru is not a real Guru. He has some behavioural problems and I stopped going to him altogether. But I am unable to stand this happening as I trusted this Guru so much and suddenly I find a vacuum in my life, in my spiritual life. That’s why when my friends recommended me I came all the way to have Darshan from you and be a devotee of you for ever in my life!”
Periyava started smiling..
“So you think by just switching over to another Guru like me your problems get solved?”
“That is what I feel”
Periyavaa said:”You are wrong.Krishna says “Yathatho kapikauntheya, Purushasya Vipas chithaha…”
The moment you are born as a human, you are bound to make mistakes. There is no escape for anyone in this world. Just because you switch over to another Guru like me, what is the surety that I am more purer? The very thought itself is wrong, as every human being has his own limitations.
No doubt I can understand your agony. What you should do is to start praying silently within yourself to a God of your choice.Try to get that inner “Anandha” instead of searching for another Guru who according to Krishna “May be much worse than the one you have experienced.”
There was spellbound silence everywhere…
I went to get His Blessings.
He said smilingly, “For you I will ever be the Guru, Don’t worry.”
Silence was broken with laughter everywhere…
I came out wiping my tears of joy…
Jaya Jaya Shankara, Hara Hara Shankara!

‘My mum’s doing the shopping’ !!!!
Locked in: the baby with the note. Photo: FacebookA photo of a baby inside a locked car outside a New Zealand supermarket has sparked outrage online.
The photo was taken outside Porirua Pak ‘n Save on Saturday morning, the New Zealand Herald reported.
The photo shows a newborn baby wrapped in a blanket in a car seat, with a note on the blanket saying to call if there are any issues.
A mobile phone number is on the note.
A man who spoke to the Herald said he saw the baby and the note after he and his family parked next to it.
“It was written from the baby’s perspective, and it said, ‘My mum’s in doing the shopping, call her if I need anything’, and it had the cellphone number.
“We waited there for a little bit, wondering if the mum was just going to be two seconds and come back. And my wife said, ‘I’m not going in without someone being here with the baby’,” the man told the Herald.
The photo was posted on radio personality Polly Gillespie’s Facebook page and triggered many heated responses.
Commenter Cat Marie Horne wrote: “I’m sorry this is completely irresponsible! You do not leave children under the age of 14 unsupervised at all.
“Why did she have time to write a note?? Secondly, you do not put a capsule seat in the front of a car, due to dashboard airbags. Also, if you are that tired you should not be driving.”
There were more than 1100 comments on the post, with many outraged at the incident, but many felt sympathy for the mother involved.
Linda Gill wrote:”It was in Porirua, according to the original Facebook post… and it’s not something I would have done but I choose not to come on here and condemn her.
“It’s very easy to come on here and cast judgement on others, because I’m sure you’ve never, ever done anything wrong in your lives.
“The difference is someone took a photo this time. Aren’t you all glad that someone isn’t following you around with a camera. (Aimed at no one in particular, just food for thought).”
Porirua Pak ‘n Save compliance manager Marty Fryer said he didn’t know what had happened until somebody rang him about it yesterday.
“It’s not really an issue we deal with normally, although we get all sorts of things going on out here.
“We have staff in the carpark so if they saw something like a baby in a car they would bring it to our attention,” he said.
It is illegal for a parent or guardian to leave a child under the age of 14 alone for an unreasonable time or in unreasonable conditions. Doing so could result in a fine of up to $2000.

Budget Airline Easy Jet Follows Ryan Air in Removing Airport Check in Counters !!!
Passengers flying with EasyJet will need to check-in online after the airline removes all its check-in desks from airports. Photo: BloombergEuropean budget airline EasyJet is to close all its airport check-in desks, in an attempt to encourage more passengers to check in online.
The desks will be replaced by bag-drop desks, for those flyers wishing to travel with checked luggage, from April 30.
Passengers who forget to check in online will still be able to do so at the airport free of charge, but it is hoped the facility will only be used in “exceptional circumstances.”
Low-cost rival Ryanair abolished check-in desks in 2009 and currently charges passengers £70 ($A102) per person at the airport if they don’t check in online, or if they fail to print out their boarding pass. Last year a British woman, Suzy McLeod, received the backing of more than half a million Facebook users after she was charged £240 (the fee at the time was £60 per person) at Alicante airport after she forgot to print out four boarding passes. Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary responded in typically confrontational style, branding Ms McLeod “stupid”.
An EasyJet spokesman said an unspecified “transition period” would give passengers time to adapt to the new policy, but claimed that no plans were in place to charge a similar fee if they forget to check in online, or to print their boarding pass.
“We try to be a bit more customer friendly than Ryanair, and hope passengers choose to check-in online without the threat of punitive charges,” said a spokesman.
“EasyJet is always looking to make travel easier and more affordable. Online check in has proved popular with passengers, for whom it saves time queuing at the airport, and has helped easyJet keep its costs, and therefore its fares, low.”
He added that 80 per cent of passengers already choose to check in online, and that the move was aimed at making the airport journey quicker for all.
EasyJet passengers can check in online up to 30 days before they fly. They are currently permitted to travel with one piece on hand luggage, no bigger than 56 x 45 x 25cm. It charges customers £25 to travel with a single piece of hold baggage.
