Just For Laugh !!!….Is Moped a Threat to Ferrari ?!!!

An elderly man on a Moped, looking about 80 years old, pulls up next to a doctor at a street light.

The old man looks over at the sleek shiny car and asks

‘What kind of car ya got there, sonny ?’

The doctor replies, ‘A Ferrari GTO.

It cost half a million dollars ! ‘

‘That’s a lot of money,’ says the old man.

‘Why does it cost so much?’

‘Because this car can do up to 320 miles an hour!’ states the doctor proudly.

The Moped driver asks, ‘Mind if I take a look inside?’

‘No problem,’ replies the doctor.

So the old man pokes his head in the window and looks around.

Then, sitting back on his Moped, the old man says, ‘That’s a pretty nice car, all right… but I’ll stick with my Moped !’

Just then the light changes,

So the doctor decides to show

The old man just what his car can do.

He floors it, and within 30 seconds

The speedometer reads 160 mph.

Suddenly, he notices a dot in his rear view mirror.  It seems to be getting closer!

He slows down to see what it could be

And suddenly WHOOOOSSSHHH !

Something whips by him going much faster !

‘ What on earth could be going faster than my Ferrari ?’ the doctor asks himself.

He presses harder on the accelerator

And takes the Ferrari up to 250 mph.

Then, up ahead of him,

He sees that it’s the old man on the Moped!

Amazed that the Moped could pass his Ferrari, he gives it more gas

And passes the Moped at 275 mph

And he’s feeling pretty good until he looks in his mirror and sees the old man gaining on him AGAIN!

Astounded by the speed of this old guy,

He floors the gas pedal and takes the Ferrari all the way up to 320 mph.

Not ten seconds later, he sees the Moped bearing down on him again!

The Ferrari is flat out,

And there’s nothing he can do!

Suddenly, the Moped plows

Into the back of his Ferrari,

Demolishing the rear end.

The doctor stops and jumps out and unbelievably the old man is still alive.

He runs up to the banged-up old guy and says, ‘I’m a doctor…. Is there anything I can do for you?’

The old man whispers,

” UNHOOK MY SUSPENDERS FROM YOUR SIDEVIEW MIRROR !!!!”

Inspiring Story of a School Dropout …

Dr. Kathiresan – MA.(history ),     M.A. ( Political History ),
M.Ed. ,                  M.Phil,
Ph.D.                    B.L.

V Kathiresan had to drop out of school to support his family. Years later, working for A P J Abdul Kalam as his driver, he was encouraged to restart his education.

Today he has a PhD, has written two books, and is a college Professor.

Anything is possible or shall we say nothing is impossible. V Kathiresan’s story proves that. This school dropout, who used to work as a driver for A P J Abdul Kalam, ensured that his dream turned into a reality at the age of 47.

A native of Vadachennimalai in Tamil Nadu, Kathiresan has come a long way with sheer determination. From being a school dropout, he went on to complete a PhD in history and was appointed a lecturer at the Arignar Anna Government Arts College in Vadachennimalai last year.

“I can never forget the role played by Kalamayya (sahib). I worked as a driver with him for five-and-a-half-years and during those long drives, I used to talk to him about my aspirations and dreams.”
“One day while driving, Ayya suggested that I should resume my studies. He told me that the best way to go about it was through long distance education. Ayya used to lecture several students about the importance of education. I used to listen to him speak and got inspired.
It wasn’t easy for Dr Kathiresan. After working at a 10 to 6 job, he would come home and study to catch up on all those lost years. His struggle against the odds has become an example for his students. Santhosh Mani, a student at the college, says his teacher’s story is like a fairy tale. “We complain so much about work load and the other burdens of life,” says Mani. “Today I look up to him and tell myself that anything is possible. It is just a matter of dedication and effort.”

Dr Kathiresan lost his father very early in life and had no choice but to support his family. Though he was always fond of studying, financial problems compelled him to drop out of school. “It was one of the most painful decisions of my life, but I accepted it as a way of life.”

He trained as an electrician and joined the Indian Army in 1979. His first posting was in Bhopal, then Sikkim followed by Hyderabad.
He first met A P J Abdul Kalam at the Defence Research and Development Laboratory in the 1980s. Kalam was DRDO’s director at the time and Kathiresan was deputed as his driver.

I must thank the Almighty that I was given such an opportunity,” says Dr Kathiresan. “If not for Kalamayya’s inspirational words, I would have never been able to achieve this. Even after Ayya left DRDO, I continued to ponder over what he said about the importance of education.”

He started working towards completing his school education. He appeared for the Class X and then Class XII examinations privately and obtained a BA from Madurai Kamraj University through distance education. He then went on to do an MA in political science.
“I noticed that as the days passed, the urge to pursue higher studies started creeping into my system. I did my BEd followed by an MEd from Madras University and then an MPhil from Kamraj University. I then did law and finally a PhD from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University.”

In 2001, he passed the teachers’ recruitment exam, and was selected on merit. His first assignment as a teacher was at Kovilpatti where he worked for eight years. Apart from this he has written four books on history and a travel guide for the Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu.

“After completing my PhD, I called Ayya and told him that I had got a job also. The kind words and the appreciation that he gave me are more important than anything else in this world. He had faith in me and I did not let him down.”

Dr Kathiresan cannot forget the role his wife Kasthuri played in his entire struggle. A teacher herself, she was a rock through his difficult times. The couple have decided to ensure that their son Raghavan, who is in Class XII, gets sound academic grooming.

Grateful that he had Kalam as a mentor he now wants to help other students who have not had a chance to complete their education. “I would be only too glad if I could pass this on to several students who have the urge to learn and strive to be the best.”

Samsung….A Success Story …Worth Reading !!!

Samsung flash memory and processors

In the past year and a half, Samsung, a company that makes everything from dishwashers to smartphones, has become one the most powerful and recognizable names in tech.

A lot of people are even lumping Samsung together with AppleFacebookMicrosoftAmazon, and Google as one of the most important tech companies right now.
So how did Samsung get to where it is today?

Samsung was founded by Byung-Chull Lee in 1938 in Taegu, Korea. The company started as a food exporter in Korea and shipped items like dried fish and flour to China.

Samsung got into other businesses throughout the 1950s and 1960s, including life insurance and textiles.

Samsung Electronics started in 1969. That division mostly made TVs. Samsung’s first black and white TV went on sale in 1970.

Samsung expanded into even more fields in the 1970s, including petrochemicals. It also started making washing machines, refrigerators, and microwaves.

Samsung began to focus even more on electronics in the 1980s. The company began producing color TVs, personal computers, VCRs, and tape recorders. This was also the decade Samsung started exporting more of its products to North America.

Samsung teamed up with BP in 1989 to form Samsung BP Chemicals. The company sells chemical products in Korea.

In the early and mid-1990s, Samsung started producing memory and hard drives for use in personal computers. That’s still a big part of Samsung’s business today.

According to company legend, one of Samsung’s first mobile phones did not work when it came out in 1995. When Samsung’s chairman Kun-Hee Lee found out, he visited the factory where the phones were made and reportedly had the entire inventory burned.

After that initial slip up, Samsung began taking mobile more seriously by the late 1990s. It released one of its first Internet-ready phones in 1999. Mobile would eventually grow into Samsung’s most profitable business.

In the late 1990s, Samsung made more advances in television. It created the world’s first mass-produced digital TV in 1998. It had a full lineup of digital TVs by 1999.

Samsung began making HD TVs in the early 2000s. It went on to make Blu-Ray players and other home theater equipment. Today, Samsung makes some of the best HD TVs you can buy

Samsung introduced its first flagship Android phone, the Galaxy S, at the Mobile World Congress in 2010. The phone is now in its third generation and regarded as one of the best smartphones you can buy.

Samsung released the Galaxy Tab in the fall of 2010. The 7-inch device was the first mainstream Android tablet.

Google”s $82 Million Airport !!!

Google’s grip on Silicon Valley is about to stretch even further.
The search giant has proposed building an $82 million private airport for executive travel at Mineta San Jose International Airport, reports the local SF Bay Area CBS affiliate.
There is a very strong chance the offer will be accepted.
The 29 acre airport proposal is facilitated by Signature, a San Jose-based company that currently handles Google’s private jets.
Signature’s proposal will develop the west side of the airport under a 50-year lease.
Further specifics detail a 17,000-square-foot terminal, a 33,000-square-foot building for offices and retail shops, a 66,000-square-foot hangar, 18.5 acres for aircraft parking, and a 300-space car parking lot, according to NBC Bay Area.
William Sherry, the San Jose director of Aviation, along with four other evaluators gave Signature’s plan a 991 out of 1,000 rating. Officials liked the plan because of the likelihood to create jobs and additional revenues for the airport and the city’s General Fund.

Apple”s iWatch….Some Exciting Features ….

Apple has the potential to drastically reinvent the traditional smart watch.     apple iwatch on wrist
There are already a host of smartwatches out there, like the Cookoo Watch and Pebble, and one source tells us that Google’s currently working on a smart watch of its own.
Earlier this year, reports emerged of Apple’s apparent plans to start making a smartwatch.
According to Bruce Tognazzini, a principal with the Nielsen Norman Group and former Apple employee who specializes in human-computer interaction, an Apple iWatch could have a vast impact on our lives.

Here are several reasons why you should be really excited:

Apple can solve the “having-to-remove-the-watch-from-your-arm-problem” by implementing wireless charging, which the company holds a patent for.
Apple’s patent for curved glass screens could help reduce the clunky factor.
There won’t need to be a bunch of buttons and menus because Siri will be able to handle complex tasks.
The iWatch could facilitate communication with your iPhone so you can see who’s calling.
It could eliminate the need for typing in passwords on Apple devices.
You may never lose your iPhone again because the iWatch will alert you if you start moving out of range.
It could use sensors to track how many calories you’re burning and miles you’re walking, and monitor things like blood pressure.
If the NFC chip makes its way to the iWatch, you could just swipe your watch over a reader to make payments.
It will very likely support music functions.
The iWatch could function as remote control via compatibility with Siri.
Apple could use the iWatch to fix its maps by using crowdsourced pressure data.

Horse Cart Owner “s Ride in A Car of the Devotee of Mahaperiavar !!!!!

Auditor Venugopal was a native of Salem. He was a staunch bhakta (devotee) of Maha PeriyavaaL. He was the auditor of Kanchi Sankara MaTham. It was his custom to say word for word that it was only Maha Periyavaa who guided him to that profession.

As he gained some popularity, Venugopal bought a car. The desire of showing to Maha PeriyavaaL the new car bought for the first time (in his life) rising in his heart, Venugopal was headed straight for Kanchipuram in his car. Only when he parked the car in front of the MaTham did he come to know that the Mahaan was camping in Kalavai! The car then started off its trip to Kalavai.

Parking the car outside where Maha PeriyavaaL was staying, Venugopal went inside the camp.

As he saw Venugopal entering, Maha Periyavaa asked him, “car vAngiyirukkiyo? (So you have bought a car?)”. And that was even before Venugopal started telling the sage about his new car. The auditor was dumbstruck. The Mahaan was one who knew time in all its three tenses.

“Yes”, he said slowly. For a moment he even thought if it was a mistake in buying the new car before he had a word with the Mahaan. But then the Mahaan never found fault with living comfortably within one’s means!

“It is a good thing only. Alright, you do an errand for me now!” said the Mahaan.

The auditor only nodded his head in affirmation, consenting to do an errand for the sage.

“You need to go a little distance from here and turn right. If you go along the road thereafter, you will sight a pond. An old man will be sitting on the banks of the pond. You bring him here in your car. What, will you do it?” The auditor started off even before the Mahaan finished.

Going like an arrow on its course, the auditor found the old man with a beard on the banks of a pond. He did not think if Periyavaa wanted to bring that old man. For he knew that there would be a thousand meanings in what Periyavaa said.

Going near the old man, the auditor spoke to him about the sage’s instructions.

“Did he call me? Then surely I shall come with you”, said the old man. Staggering, he got into the auditor’s brand new car, who took him to the Mahaan’s sannidhi (presence). The old man stood folding his palms before the sage.

“enna saukkiyama irukkiyA? (What, are you doing well?)” was the question Periyavaa asked the old man.

“edo irukkEn (somewhat fine)!”

The MaThams honours were given to the old man in accordance with the directions of the sage. After giving the old man dhoties, shawls and some money for his expenses to the man’s satisfaction, Kanchi Mahaan told the auditor: “Take him and drop him where he wants to alight and then come back!”

A car ride for the old man again. The auditor dropped him as he desired and then came back to the MaTham. He did not ask who that old man was, nor the sage said anything about it. Auditor Venugopal stood before the Mahaan, his hands humbly folded across his chest.

“The man you brought here–do you know who he is?”

The auditor nodded his head to say no.

“When I was a small boy, suddenly one day he brought me in his horse cart. I did not know why at that time. Only after coming here, they said that I was the 68th PIThAdhipati (pontiff)… I did not know Samskrutam at that time… I did not know Vedas… Only after coming over here, all those lessons. How many years have gone by, did you notice it? It was only this periyavar (respectable old man) who brought me here, making me sit inside his horse cart. He also did not know then why they asked for me here! How can I forget him? I suddenly remembered him, which is why I asked you to bring him here in your new car,” said Maha Periyavaa.

Message For The Day…Find Some time for Daily Prayers …

A person once told Dr. Johnson, the famous English thinker, that he could seldom get time to recite the Name of God, what with the hundreds of things he had to do from morning till nightfall and even far into the night. Dr. Johnson replied with another question. He asked how millions of people found space to live upon the face of the earth, which is two-thirds water and the rest is too full of mountains, deserts, forests, icy regions, river beds, marshes and similar impossible areas. The questioner said that man somehow struggled to find living space. So too, said Dr. Johnson, man must somehow find a few minutes a day for prayer to the Lord. Keep the Name and Form of your choice ever in your consciousness. The Name must be as constant as breathing. And for this, practice is essential.
