Spiritual Practice (Sadhana) must be done in a disciplined and systematic manner, in an atmosphere filled with virtues. Just as fans in a large hall cool the atmosphere and provide soothing breeze to the people gathered there, so too, the fans of Truth, Right Conduct, Peace and Love (Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi,and Prema) are necessary to reduce the sweltering heat of ignorance, falsehood, injustice and indiscipline (Ajnaana, Asathya, Anyaaya and Akrama). In a world where noble conduct is being insulted and denied at every turn, peace and tolerance are the only means through which you can save yourself. This is the most important aspect that I ask you to cultivate. In every act, have tolerance and patience with a mutual helping attitude. In the family, cultivate patience and mutual respect; in the community, have righteousness and justice.

NASA Spent $12 Million For a Space Pen While the Russians Just Use Pencils-Fiction!
Summary of the eRumor
The message says that the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration spent ten years and $12 million developing a pen that writes in zero gravity for use by astronauts. The pen will write upside down, underwater, on almost any surface and is functional at extremely hot and cold temperatures. The Russians, however, filled the need for a space writing instrument by simply using pencils.
The Truth
For some people, it’s sport to point out government waste and bureaucratic stupidity, but this story about the space pen won’t provide ammunition for it. The government did not fund the development of the pen, it did not cost $12 million to perfect, and neither the Americans nor the Russians consider it desirable to use pencils in space. In fact, both Americans and Russians use the space pen for their flights.
The famous space pen, which is still a popular product today, was developed by Paul Fisher the founder of the Fisher pen company. An engineer who improved ball point technology, he created his “bullet pen” in the 1940’s, which became one of the best-selling pens of the Twentieth Century. Later, he perfected a pen that was sealed with pressure inside of the cartridge that made the ink to flow regardless of gravity. It also worked in high and low temperature extremes, underwater, and wrote on many kinds of surfaces. According to the Fisher Pen company, after extensive testing, NASA chose the pen in 1967 for use by Apollo astronauts and it’s been a part of space travel ever since. The company says it took Fisher about 2 years and $2 million to develop the space pen. Prior to 1967, there were no pens that worked in space so there were pencils used, but there were concerns about pencil dust floating around the space capsules as well as fears that if the tip of a pencil broke off and drifted into the electronics, there would be problems.

When confronted with the same problem, the Russians used a pencil.

புரிந்தது …..தெளிந்தது !!!
ஒரு துறவி தன் சீடனுடன் குடிலில் அமர்ந்திருந்தார்.
ஒரு குடும்பஸ்தர் வந்தார்.
“”சுவாமி! எனக்கு ஆயிரம் கடன்கள். பெண்ணுக்கு கல்யாணம் செய்ய வழியில்லை. உடல்நிலையும் சரியில்லை. இந்த பிரச்னை தீர யோசனை கூறுங்கள்…” என்று கேட்டார்.
“”அப்பனே! இதுவிதிப்பயன். மாற்றலாகாது. பெருமாள் நாமத்தை மனதார உச்சரி; கஷ்டங்களைக் குறைக்கலாம்,” என்றார் துறவி.
வந்தவர் விரக்தியாய் கேட்டார்.
“”உங்கள் கூற்றுப்படி, விதிப்படி தான் எல்லாம் நடக்குமென்றால், பெருமாளை துணைக்கு அழைப்பானேன்! அவன் நாமத்தை
சொல்லுவானேன்!”.
குரு சிரித்தார்.
“”மகனே! பெருமாள் கிருஷ்ணாவதாரம், ராமாவதாரம் எடுத்தார். மனிதரூபத்தில் இருந்தார். அவர் நினைத்தால் எல்லாவற்றையும் மாற்றியிருக்க முடியும். ஆனால், அதர்மத்தை நடக்க விட்டதும், பெரும் துன்பப் போராட்டத்திற்குப் பின், தர்மத்தை வெல்லச் செய்ததும். விதியின் வலிமையை உணர்த்துவதற்காகத் தான்! காய்ச்சல் வந்தால், மருந்து சாப்பிட்டு அதைக் குறைப்பது போலத்தான் விதியின் பாதை. அந்தப் பாதையை மாற்ற முடியாது. ஆனால், அதன் கடுமையை குறைக்கவே கடவுளிடம் வேண்டுகிறோம், புரிகிறதா!” என்றார்.
வந்தவருக்கு நன்றாய் புரிந்தது, மனம் தெளிந்தது
ஒரு பணக்காரரும், பரம ஏழையும் திருப்பதி சென்றனர். வேங்கடவன் அருள்வேண்டி தரிசனம் செய்தனர்.
அது திருவிழா காலம். எனவே, வழக்கமான கூட்டத்தை விட இரண்டரை மடங்கு கூட்டம்.
தரிசனம் முடித்த அவர்கள், லட்டுக்காக வரிசையில் காத்து நின்றனர். பணக்காரருக்கு நான்கு லட்டுகள் கிடைத்தது. ஏழையால் ஒன்றே ஒன்று தான் வாங்க முடிந்தது.
அவனுக்கு மிகவும் வருத்தம். மலைப்பாதையில் திரும்பி வரும் போது, ஒரு துறவியைச் சந்தித்தான்.
“”சுவாமி! செல்வந்தர்களால் எல்லாமே வாங்க முடிகிறது. ஏழையாய் பிறந்த பாவத்தால் என்னால், ஒரு லட்டு கூட அதிகமாக வாங்க முடியவில்லை,”. அவன் பரிதாபமாக சொன்னது கேட்டு, குரு சிரித்தார். அமைதியாய் பேசினார், “”மகனே! அந்த பணக்காரனுக்கு நாலு லட்டு கிடைத்திருக்கலாம். ஆனால், அவரால் துளிக்கூட உண்ண இயலாது. அவர் சர்க்கரை வியாதிக்காரர். ஆனாலும், அவர் அவற்றை வாங்கியது ஏன் தெரியுமா! தன் உறவுகளுக்கும், நண்பர்களுக்கும் பகிர்ந்தளிக்க..! பக்தியின் நோக்கம் என்ன தெரியுமா?
பிறருக்கு பகிர்ந்தளித்தல் தான்! அவரவருக்கு கிடைப்பதில், எவ்வளவு முடியுமோ அவ்வளவை மற்றவர்களுக்கு பகிர்ந்தளிக்க வேண்டும். அது மட்டுமல்ல! இதிலே இன்னொரு தத்துவமும் புதைந்து கிடக்கிறது.
திருப்பதி லட்டு அமிர்தம் போல் சுவையானது. இதை யாருக்காவது சிறு துண்டு கொடுத்தால் கூட, இன்னொரு துண்டு கிடைக்காதா என ஏங்க வைக்கும். இறைவனின் கருணையும் அப்படித்தான்.
அவனது கருணை மழையில் சிறுதுளியாவது கிடைக்காதா என்றுதான், ஒவ்வொரு பக்தனும் ஏங்குகிறான்.
உனக்கு கிடைத்த இந்த ஒரு லட்டில் சிறு துண்டை, நீ எடுத்துக்கொள். மீதியை மற்றவர்களுக்கு பகிர்ந்து கொடு. ஏழுமலையான் உன் வீட்டிற்கே வந்து விடுவான்,” என்றார்.
ஏழையின் மனம் தெளிந்தது.

Message For The Day….”Who am I ? Where Have I come from ?…”

There are four questions that every person must interest oneself with : “Who am I?”, ”Where have I come from?”, “Where am I going?” and “How long will I remain here?”. These questions have been answered clearly in the Vedas. All spiritual inquiry begins with these questions and attempts to find answers to them. If you drop a letter in the post box without writing the ‘From’ or ‘To’ address, it will go nowhere but to the ‘dead letter office’. In fact it is a waste of time writing that letter, is it not? So too, if you do not know the purpose of your life in this world, you will get caught in the cycle of birth and death, and will never reach your destination. To find answers to these key questions, you must begin enquiry about the Self. To get the answers, you must practice spiritual discipline. Then, you will find that the answers become part of your daily living experiences!

May Sai give us the wisdom to control our anger , our words , our tone and most importantly understand that arguments can never ever solve any problem. Conflicts can never bring Peace between two people . You can never ask anyone for attention or love- You can only give all the love, the attention , the care , the understanding that you desire in order to receive it from your loved one but have patience to accept that what ever is yours will always remain yours as long as you learn to give and expect less..

A bullock cart cannot move on rails nor a locomotive on the road. Each type of vehicle has its own type of road. But all move forward and reach the goal in their own good time. Same is the case, whatever be your functional role (Varna) in the society. Each Varna has its own set of rules, regulations and restrictions. Be it the Varnas or Ashramas (the various stages of life with their fixed duties), they are merely convenient arrangement for the conduct of worldly affairs and paths to attain supra-worldly joy. Whether head or heels, it is the same blood that circulates through each; it is the same body which claims them as limbs. Each limb has to perform its task, the task for which it has specialised. You cannot walk on your head or think with the feet. Whichever section of society you may belong to, the Lord is revealed when the heart is pure.
