All of you have two desires – Shreyas and Preyas. People are attracted by all kinds of objects in the world. People seek only those that will please the senses. Deriving pleasure from time to time through sense organs is described as Preyas. Preyas is not enduring, it is like a mirage. Sensuous pleasures are momentary and leave a trail of pain behind. However, from the learned to the illiterate, most people seek only such fleeting and unreal pleasures. Indulgence in sensual pleasures lead to bad practices and wrong conduct. You must graduate from Preyas to Shreyas. Shreyas means overcoming the demands of the senses and achieving spiritual bliss. All actions connected to the soul are related to Shreyas, while Preyas is related to the body.

When you offer salutations to someone, understand that you are saluting your own self. That ‘someone’ is none other than your own reflection. See others just as you see your own reflection in the mirror. When you are surrounded by many mirrors, you see a number of reflections. Reflections are many but the person is one. Reactions, reflections, and resounds are many but the reality is one. Names and forms may be different, but all beings are part and parcel of the same Divine Principle. Divinity is the underlying principle in the apparent multiplicity of this world. When I am speaking here, My voice is heard through each and every loudspeaker in this hall. In the same manner there exists the principle of unity in our hearts which we have to recognise.

In the Solar System the Earth is a miniscule entity. Asia is small in comparison to the Earth. Within Asia, India is just one country and within India, the district of Anantapur is still smaller; and Prasanthi Nilayam within Anantapur is tinier in comparison. Within Prasanthi Nilayam, you perhaps stay in one room. Then, why should you have an ego that is bigger than the Universe in its totality? This is totally an act of delusion, arising from ignorance. In fact, a great scholar, devotee and role model on the path of spirituality from ancient yore, Bhartruhari stated, “Out of ignorance I behaved like an elephant in rut thinking that there is no one superior to me. Because of the Divine Vision of sages and their teachings, I learnt the truth. Just as a disease can be cured by taking appropriate medicine, the fickle mind can be subdued by the Darshan and the teachings of sages and scholars.”

Buddha experienced the unity of all creation. There was total transformation in Him once He attained the vision of ekatma (oneness of the atma). He realised that all worldly relations were false. He transcended body consciousness. That is why he earned the appellation Buddha (the enlightened one). Man should use his buddhi (intellect) to understand this principle of unity. Buddhi is of two types: the buddhi that sees diversity in unity is worldly intelligence. You should develop adhyatmic buddhi (spiritual intelligence) in order to realise the underlying unity of all creation. It gives you the experience of the atmic principle which is the same in the entire creation. Buddha attained the vision of the atma. Truly speaking, Buddha is not just one individual. All of you are Buddhas. You will see unity everywhere once you understand this truth.

When a machine can get rusted without proper use and neglect, will not the human body and mind get rusted if it is not well maintained? Where does the rust come from? Dust accumulates on the machine when it is not used. Then over time the dust gets converted into rust. Due to this rust, the machine loses all its efficiency and productivity. It then needs to be repaired and is so taken to the workshop. There, it is overhauled and then it returns to its best and becomes fully productive. What should you do to become the best you can be? You must remove the rust and dust in you! The rust and dust are the evil intentions and your wavering mind. Submit your body and mind to the Lord, and keep them in good working condition at all times. You will then become the best.

இந்த ஆண்டு அக்னி நட்சத்திரம் மே 4 முதல் மே 28 வரை…

 

அக்னி நட்சத்திரம். இந்தப் பெயரைச் சொன்னாலே, வியர்த்து விறுவிறுத்து, பெருமூச்சு விடத் தொடங்கிவிடுவார்கள் பலர்.
சூரியனுக்கும் அக்னிக்கும் என்ன சம்பந்தம்? நட்சத்திரம் என்று சொல்வது ஏன்?
சூரியனும் ஓர் நட்சத்திரம்தான். அதீத பிரகாசத்தினாலும் பூமிக்கு அருகிலேயே இருப்பதாலும் பகலில் தெரிகிறது என்கின்றனர் விஞ்ஞானிகள். குறிப்பிட்ட காலகட்டத்தில் பூமிக்கு மிக அருகில் சூரியன் வருவதால் வெம்மை அதிகரிக்கிறது. அதோடு, அக்னிநட்சத்திர காலகட்டத்தில் சூரியனும், சந்திரனும் பூமிக்க அருகே வருவதாகச் சொல்கின்றனர்.
புராணம் என்ன சொல்கிறது?
முன்பொரு காலத்தில் பன்னிரண்டு வருடங்கள் இடைவிடாமல் நெய் ஊற்றி சுவேதகி எனும் யாகம் செய்தனர் முனிவர்கள். அக்னி தேவன் அந்த யாக நெய்யை உண்டதால் உடல்நலம் பாதிக்கப்பட்டான். மூலிகைச் செடிகள் நிறைந்த காண்டவ வனத்தை உண்டால், அவனது உடல் நலமாகும் என்றனர் எல்லோரும். அதன்படி அவன் அதனை அழிக்க முற்பட்டபோது, அங்கிருந்த உயிர்கள் வருணனை வேண்ட, பலத்த மழை பெய்தது. எனவே அக்னி திருமாலின் உதவியை நாடினான். மகாவிஷ்ணு, அர்ஜுனனை அனுப்பினார். அவன் அம்புகளால் கூரை அமைத்து மழையைத் தடுத்து, அக்னிபகவான் காட்டினை உண்ண உதவினான். இருபத்தொரு நாட்கள் இந்த காண்டவ வன தகனம் நடந்தது.
சூரியனின் வெப்பமும், அக்னியின் வெம்மையும் சேர்ந்து உலகையே தகித்தது அந்த நாட்களில், இது அக்னி நட்சத்திர காலகட்டமாகச் சொல்லப்படுகிறது.
சூரியனின் மனைவி உஷாதேவி, தன் கணவனின் உடல் வெப்பம் தாங்காமல் தவித்தாள். தன் நிழலையே ஒரு பெண்ணாகப் படைத்து அங்கே இருக்கச் செய்துவிட்டு தான் மறைந்து வாழ்ந்தாள். நிழல் பெண்ணுடன் வாழ்ந்த சூரியன் ஒரு காலகட்டத்தில் உண்மை உணர்ந்தான். உஷாவை மீண்டும் அழைத்தான். அவள் மறுக்க, சூரியனின் வெம்மையைக் குறைத்திட முடிவு செய்தார், அவள் தந்தையான விஸ்வகர்மா, அதன்படி பகலவனின் தேஜஸைத் தேய்த்து மழுக்கி அவனது வெப்பத்தைத் தணித்தார்.
உஷா மகிழ்வோடு கணவன் வீடு வந்தாள். தான் இழந்த ஒளியை வருடத்தில் சில நாட்கள் திரும்பப் பெற வேண்டும் என விரும்பினான், சூரியன். சம்மதித்தார் விஸ்வகர்மா. சூரியன் தன் முழுமையான தேஜஸுடன் இருக்கும் காலகட்டமே அக்னி நட்சத்திரம் என்கிறது மற்றொரு புராணம்.
ஈசனின் அனல் விழிக் கனலில் இருந்து அவதரித்தவன் ஆறுமுகன். தீப்பிழம்பு சரவணப் பொய்கையில் விந்து சிசுவான போது அவனை எடுத்து வளர்த்தவர்கள் கார்த்திகைப் பெண்கள். குழந்தையின் உடல் தகிப்பைத் தணிக்க, தங்கள் உடலோடு சேர்த்து அணைத்க் கொண்டனராம் அப்பெண்கள். அவர்களிடம் இருந்த குளிர்ச்சி குழந்தைக்கு போக, பாலகனின் உடல் வெப்பம் அந்தப் பாவையர்க்குச் சென்றதாம். தன் மீது அன்பு கொண்ட அவர்களது உடல் வெப்பத்தை, பிரகாசமான ஒளியாக மாற்றி அவர்களை நட்சத்திரங்களாக வானத்தில் சுடர்விடச் செய்தான் சுப்ரமண்யன். கார்த்திகை நட்சத்திரத்தின் அதிதேவதை அக்னி தேவன். பொதுவாகவே கார்த்திகை நட்சத்திரத்தினை வெப்பமான நட்சத்திரம் என்பார்கள்.
அக்னி நட்சத்திரத் தொடக்கநாள் முதல் காலத்தில் அதிகாலையில் எழுந்து நீராடுங்கள். சூரியனுக்கு உரிய கோலத்தை பூஜை அறையில் அரிசி மாவினால் போடுங்கள். சூரியனை நோக்கி மனதார வேண்டுங்கள். முதல் நாளிலும் கடைசி நாளிலும் சூரியனுக்கு சர்க்கரைப் பொங்கல் நிவேதனம் செய்யலாம்.
நெய் தீபம் அல்லது நல்லெண்ணெய் தீபம் ஏற்றி வைத்து முருகப் பெருமான் துதிகளைச் சொல்லுங்கள் வெம்மை தீர்க்கும் அம்மன்களான, மாரிய்மன் மீனாட்சியம்மன் ஆகியோரை வழிபடுவதும் நல்லது. பரணிக்குரிய துர்க்கையும், ரேவதிக்கு உரிய பிரம்மனையும் கிருத்திகைக்கு உரிய அக்னி பகவானையும் கும்பிடுவதும் சிறந்தது. சிவபெருமான், நரசிம்மர், மகாவிஷ்ணு, சீதளா தேவி போன்ற தெய்வங்களை வணங்குவது மிகவும் நன்மை தரும்.
நோய்கள் எளிதாக பரவும் காலகட்டம் இது. எனவே மஞ்சள் கரைத்த நீரை வேப்பிலையால் தொட்டு வீடு முழுவதும் தெளிக்கலாம். இவை அனைத்தையும் விட, வெயிலால் வாடுவோர் குளிரும் வண்ணம் பானகம், நீர்மோர், தண்ணீர், தயிர்சாதம், விசிறி, காலணிகள் என உங்களால் இயன்றதை தானமாக அளியுங்கள். கால்நடைகளுக்கு நீரும், கீரையும் கொடுங்கள்.
உங்கள் மனமும் உடலும் குளிர இறைவன் அருள் மழை பொழிவான்.

எத்தனை எத்தனையோ மகான்கள் இந்த பாரதத்துல பிறந்திருக்காங்க. அவங்களை தெய்வத்துக்கு சமமா வணக்கவும் செய்யறாங்க.
ஆனா, வாழும் காலத்துலயே நடமாடும் தெய்வம்னு சொல்லப்பட்ட, போற்றப்பட்ட, கடவுளுக்கு சமமாகவே கருதப்பட்டவர், மகா பெரியவாதான்.

 

அவர் சந்திரமௌலீஸ்வரருக்கும் காமாட்சிக்கும் பூஜை செய்யறது, தெய்வமே தெய்வத்துக்கு பூஜை செய்யற மாதிரி இருக்கும். பக்தி மணம் கமழ பரமாசார்யா செய்யற ஆராதனையைப் பார்த்து ஆனந்தக் கண்ணீர் விடாதவங்க இல்லைன்னே சொல்லிடலாம்.
அந்த மகான், தான் ஆராதனைகள் செய்யறப்ப மட்டுமல்லாமல், தெய்வத்துக்கு யாரெல்லாம் பூஜை, புனஸ்காரங்கள் செய்யறாங்களோ அவங்க எல்லாருமே சிரத்தையாகம், பழமையான வழிபாட்டு முறைகளை கொஞ்சமும் மாற்றாமலும் செய்யணும்கறதுல உறுதியா இருந்தார். அதுவும் புராணப் பெருமை உடைய புராதனக் கோயில்கள்ல உரிய ஆகம முறையில் கொஞ்சம்கூட மாற்றம் செய்யக்கூடாதுங்கறதுதான் மகா பெரியவாளோட கட்டளை!
காஞ்சி மடத்தோட ரொம்ப நெருக்கின தொடர்பு உடையவர் ஸ்தானிகம் காமகோடி சாஸ்திரிகள். அவர் மகன் ஸ்தானிகம் சுரேஷ் சாஸ்திரிகள் சொன்ன அற்புதமான சம்பவம் ஒண்ணு, பூஜையை எப்படிப் பண்ணணும்னு மகாபெரியவா சொல்லியிருக்காங்கறதை எல்லாரும் தெரிஞ்சுக்க உதவக் கூடியது.

அந்த சமயம், ராமநாதபுரத்துல இளையாத்தங்குடியில் தங்கியிருந்தார், மகா பெரியவா. கடிதத்தை படிச்சுட்டு காமகோடி சாஸ்திரிகளை ஒரு நிமிஷம் உற்றுப்பார்த்த பெரியவா, “ஒரு நல்ல நாள்ல காமாட்சி அம்மனுக்கு பூஜை பண்ண ஆரம்பிச்சுடு’ அப்படின்னு சொல்லி ஆசிர்வதிச்சார்.

காஞ்சி காமாட்சி அம்மன் கோயில்ல பௌர்ணமி தினங்கள்ல விசேஷ பூஜை நடக்கும் இரவு ஒன்பதரை மணிக்குத் தொடங்கப்படற அந்த பூஜை, நள்ளிரவு வரை நடக்கும். அதுல முக்கியமான விஷயம் என்னன்னா, அந்த ஆராதனையை யாரும் பார்க்க முடியாதுங்கறதுதான்.
சுமார் ஒன்பது மணி வாக்குல அந்த வழிபாட்டுல பங்கெடுத்துக்கற பக்தர்கள்கிட்ட சங்கல்பம் செய்துடுவாங்க. அதன்பிறகு கர்ப்பகிருஹத்தை சாத்திட்டு அர்ச்சகர்கள் மட்டும் உள்ளே இருந்து அர்ச்சனை, ஆராதனைகளைச் செய்வாங்க.
காமகோடி சாஸ்திரிகள் அம்மனை ஆராதிக்க ஆரம்பிச்ச பிறகு ஒரு பௌர்ணமி பூஜைக்கு வந்தார், ஆசார்யார். பக்தர்கிட்டே சங்கல்பம் எல்லாம் முடிஞ்சதும், பூஜை பண்றதுக்காக கருவறையை சாத்தினாங்க. பரமாச்சார்யார், மூலஸ்தானத்துக்கு உள்ளேயே ஒரு மணையில அமர்ந்து எல்லா ஆராதனைகளையும் முழுமையா பார்த்தார். பூஜைகள் முடிஞ்சதும் பிரசாதம் வாங்கிக் கொண்டு புறப்பட்ட பெரியவா காமகோடி சாஸ்திரிகள்கிட்டே, “நாளைக்கு கொஞ்சம் மட்த்துக்கு வந்துட்டுப் போ’ன்னு சொல்லிட்டுபோனார்.
மறுநாள் மடத்துக்குப் போனார், சாஸ்திரி. அவர்கிட்டே பெரியவா “இந்த பௌர்ணமி பூஜையை ஏன் இப்படி நடுராத்திரியில யாரும் பார்க்காதபடி பண்ணணும்? பகல்லயே செய்யலாமே?’ அப்படின்னு கேட்டார்.
அதுக்கு காமகோடி சாஸ்திரிகள், “பெரியவா, உங்களுக்குத் தெரியாததில்லை. வேத, புராண முறைப்படி நடக்கற நவாவரணபூஜை இது. காலம்காலமா காமாட்சியம்மன் கோயில்ல இந்த நேரத்துலதான் பூஜை நடத்தறது வழக்கமா இருக்கு. இதை மாத்தி பகல்ல பண்ணணும்னா, பெரியவா நீங்கதான் உத்தரவு போடணும்’னு சொன்னார்.
புன்னகை செஞ்ச பெரியவா, “அப்படியெல்லாம் செய்யக்கூடாது. பூஜை முறைகள்ல சாஸ்திர சம்பிரதாயத்தை எதுக்காகவும் மாத்தக்கூடாது’ன்னு சொல்லிட்டு, இன்னொரு கேள்வியைக் கேட்டார்.
“ராத்திரியில செய்ய வேண்டிய பூஜை இதுன்னு சொல்றியே, ஆனா இதையே வசந்த நவராத்ரி, சாரதா நவராத்ரி சமயங்கள்ல மட்டும் பகல்ல செய்யறது ஏன்?’
பரமா சார்யா இப்படிக் கேட்டதும் எல்லாருக்கும் ஆச்சர்யம். ஏன் இப்படிக் கேட்கறார்? அவருக்குத் தெரியாத என்ன விவரத்தை சாஸ்திரிகள் சொல்லப் போறார்?னு எல்லாரும் கவனமா பார்த்தாங்க.
சாஸ்திரி விளக்கங்களை ஸ்ரீவித்யா உபாசனைல உள்ள பூஜா விதிகளைச் சொன்ன சாஸ்திரிகள், அந்த முறைப்படிதான் நவாவரண பூஜை செய்யப்படுதுன்னு சொல்ல, சில ஸ்லோகங்களையும் அதுக்க விளக்கமா சொன்னார்.
எல்லாத்தையும் பொறுமையா கேட்ட ஆசார்யாள், “உன்னை நான் கேட்ட கேள்விகள் எல்லாம், ஸ்ரீ வித்யா உபாசனையை நீ பூரணமா தெரிஞ்சுண்டு இருக்கியா?ன்னு பரிசோதிக்கவும், பழமையான பூஜை முறைகளை யாரும் எதுக்காகவும் மாத்தக்கூடாதுங்கறதை மற்றவங்க தெரிஞ்சுக்கணும்கறதுக்காகவும்தான். அதோட நீ என்னைப் பார்க்க வந்தப்ப ஒரு கடிதம் எடுத்துண்டு வந்தியே, அதுல உனக்கு பரீட்சை வைச்சு பார்க்கும்படி எழுதியிருந்தார், உன் குருநாதர். அதுக்காகத்தான் இப்படிக் கேள்வி கேட்டேன். அம்பாளுக்கு உரிய ஆராதனையை நீ முழுமை கத்துண்டு இருக்கே. உன் குருநாதர்கிட்டேயும் சொல்லிடு!’ன்னு சொல்லி காமகோடி சாஸ்திரிகளை ஆசிர்வதிச்சார்.
அதோட, “ஒரு விக்ரகம் பூஜா விக்ரகமா பிரதிஷ்டை செய்யப்பட்டபிறகு அதுக்கு பூஜை செய்யறவர் எந்தக் காரணத்தாலும் வழிபாட்டு முறைகளையோ, பூஜை நேரத்தையோ மாற்றவே கூடாது. மாற்றம் இல்லாம தொடர்ந்து செய்யறபோது, அந்த விக்ரகத்துல தெய்வ சான்னித்யம் நிறைஞ்சுடும். அதுக்கப்புறம் அந்த விக்ரகத்தை பூஜிக்கறவர், வணங்கற பக்தர்கள்னு எல்லாருக்குமே அந்த தெய்வீக சக்தி பலன்தர ஆரம்பிச்சுடும். அந்த விக்ரகம் இருக்கற தலம் சுபிட்சம் நிறைஞ்சதா மாறிடும்!’ அப்படிங்கற முக்கியமான விஷயத்தையும் எல்லாருக்கும் சொன்னார் ஆசார்யார்.

Message For the Day…” Offer Your Egoistic Pride as Sacrifice @ the Altar of the Divine …”

Dedication means offering to the Divine. When you offer flowers to God along with your salutation, it symbolizes offering of the flower of your heart. The flower of the heart is usually subjected to infestation by two evil creatures; they are Ego (Ahamkar) and Jealousy (Asuya). Ego is hard to conquer and arises from seven factors – Wealth, Physical Prowess, Birth, Scholarship, Beauty, Power and Penance. As long as Ahamkara is predominant, it is impossible to recognize the Divinity within. Ego is a great barrier between the individual and God, and must be totally demolished. All forms of pride (particularly that of wealth, scholarship and power) cause human failings and downfall, and hence must be given up totally. Only when egoistic pride is offered as a sacrifice at the altar of the Divine, you can discover your true divine nature.

God has gifted to every one of you the expensive and precious heart. It is enough if there is even a little bit of pure, untainted eternal and selfless love in your heart. If you have the slightest gratitude for having the gift of life it is sufficient to redeem your life. Hearts devoid of love and gratitude are indeed barren. Aspire to cultivate this valuable and precious gift of the heart. Many pray, “Oh God, give me the energy and capability to experience Divinity and live in accordance with your command”. You pray, thinking that you do not have that strength. This is incorrect. Each and every one of you are already bestowed with that strength! You do not need anything more. You are unable to appreciate it because your vision is not focused on that. You must search and enquire within you as to what your aspirations and goals are. Then sincerely wor k towards experiencing it.

When little Abraham shared with his mother that he was disrespected and felt ashamed in the midst of his friends for wearing old and shabby clothes, she told him that he need not feel so. She counselled him that poverty, though viewed in poor light by others, will eventually help him gain respect. Lincoln later in his life declared, “You may disrespect me, but truth cannot be disrespected. It will emerge triumphant!” He proceeded on the path of truth and self-confidence taught by his mother and became the President of the United States of America. In fact, anyone who has the blessing of their mother will emerge very successful.
