There are learned scholars who spend a good deal of time in arguing that this form of God is superior to the other. This delusion has caused great harm. The truth is that each reveals a certain phase of Divinity. The comparison itself diminishes the integrity of any scholar! Anyone who has reverence for God, would not attempt at intellectually estimating the power of the Lord, they would, in fact, earnestly try to get an intuitive experience of the Divine! Harmony is the test of any religious outlook; if it breeds hate or faction or pride, the outlook is definitely evil. Keep away from these, if you are interested in your spiritual practice.

Spiritual Practice (Sadhana) is constantly cultivating good thoughts and undertaking good deeds. –

பெரியாரும் , மகாபெரியவரும் ….

காஞ்சிப் பெரியவரின் கூடவே இருந்து, அவருக்கு 40 ஆண்டுக் காலம் சேவை
செய்யும் பாக்கியம் பெற்றவர் லக்ஷ்மிநாராயணன் என்னும் 76 வயதுப்
பெரியவர். மாங்காட்டில் இருக்கிறார். காஞ்சிப் பெரியவர் பற்றி அவர்
சொன்ன ஒரு விஷயம்……

காஞ்சிப் பெரியவர் தமது பரிவாரங்களுடன் நடந்து வருகிறார். லஸ் அருகில்,
அவரையும் அவரது அடியவர் கூட்டத்தையும் தாக்குவதற்காக திராவிடர்
கழகத்தினர் கழி, கட்டைகளோடு நின்றுகொண்டு இருக்கிறார்கள். காஞ்சிப்
பெரியவருக்கு ஏதேனும் சங்கடம் நேர்ந்துவிட்டால், தங்களால் அதைத் தாங்கிக்
கொள்ள முடியாதே என்கிற பதைப்போடு டி.டி.கே., சதாசிவம் போன்றோர் கையைப்
பிசைந்துகொண்டு நிற்கிறார்கள். பெரியவரை மேலே முன்னேறி வர வேண்டாம் என்று
அவர்கள் கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறார்கள். அவரது பாதுகாப்புக்கு போலீஸ் அதிகாரிகள்
இருக்கிறார்கள். இருந்தாலும், அவர்களும் தங்களை மீறி பெரியவருக்கு
ஏதேனும் ஆபத்து நேர்ந்துவிடுமோ என்கிற பயத்தில், அவரை மேலே செல்ல
வேண்டாம் என்று தயவுடன் கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறார்கள்.

பெரியவர் புன்னகைக்கிறார். “ஏன் வீணா பயப்படறேள்? அவா என்னை ஒண்ணும் பண்ண
மாட்டா!’ என்று சொல்லிவிட்டு, அருகே இருந்த அம்பாள் கோவில் எதிரே நின்று
சிறிது நேரம் கண்களை மூடிப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்துகொண்டுவிட்டு, மேலே
நடக்கத் தொடங்குகிறார். கூடவே நடந்து செல்லும் அனைவரின் மனதிலும் திக்…
திக்..! என்ன ஆகப் போகிறதோ என்று படபடப்பு!

அந்த நேரத்தில், ஈ.வே.ரா. பெரியார் அங்கே வருகிறார். திராவிடர் கழகத்
தொண்டர்களைப் பார்த்து உரத்த குரலில், “எல்லாரும் கட்டைகளைக் கீழே
போட்டுட்டு, ஒதுங்கி நில்லுங்க. பெரியவரை வழி மறிக்கிறது, தாக்குறது
எல்லாம் கூடாது, சொல்லிட்டேன்! அவர் எங்கே போகணுமோ, அங்கே அவரை ஒரு
ஆபத்தும் இல்லாம கொண்டு போய்ச் சேர்க்க வேண்டியது உங்க பொறுப்பு!’ என்று
கட்டளை இடுகிறார். அந்தக் கணீர்க் குரல் பெரியவருக்கும் அவரைச் சுற்றி
நிற்கும் அனைவருக்கும் கேட்கிறது. “நான்தான் சொன்னேனே, பார்த்தீர்களா!’
என்பதுபோல் பெரியவர் தம் அருகில் இருப்பவர்களைப் பார்த்துப் புன்னகை
பூத்தபடி, தொடர்ந்து நடக்கிறார்.

பெரியாரின் கட்டளையைச் சிரமேற்கொண்டு, பெரியவரைப் பாதுகாப்பாக அழைத்துக்
கொண்டுபோய் விடுகிறார்கள் திராவிடர் கழகத் தொண்டர்கள். இந்தச் சம்பவம்
நடக்கும்போது கூடவே இருந்தவர் லக்ஷ்மிநாராயணன். இதை அவர் விவரித்தபோது,
அன்றைக்கிருந்த படபடப்பு அவரது வர்ணனையில் இருந்தது.

இந்தச் சம்பவத்துக்குச் சில ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னால் வரை, காஞ்சிப்
பெரியவர் ‘மேனா’ என்று சொல்லக்கூடிய சிவிகையில்தான் சென்றுகொண்டு
இருந்தார். சிவிகை என்பது பல்லக்கு. பழைய காலத் திரைப் படங்களில்
இளவரசியை ஒரு பல்லக்கில் வைத்து, முன்னால் நான்கு பேர், பின்னால் நான்கு
பேர் தூக்கிச் செல்வதைப் பார்த்திருக்கலாம். பெரியவரையும் அதுபோல்தான்
அடியவர்கள் தூக்கிச் செல்வார்கள்.

ஒருமுறை, பெரியவர் அதுபோல் மேனாவில் சென்றுகொண்டு இருந்தபோது, வழியில்
மேடை போட்டுப் பெரியார் பேசிக்கொண்டு இருக்கிறார். “மற்றவர்கள்
சிரமப்பட்டுத் தூக்கிச் செல்ல, சொகுசாக உட்கார்ந்துகொண்டு போகிறாரே,
இவரெல்லாம் ஒரு துறவியா? மனிதனை மனிதன் சுமப்பது எத்தனைக் கேவலமானது!
துறவி என்றால் எல்லாச் சுகங்களையும் துறக்க வேண்டும். இப்படி அடுத்தவர்
தோளில் உட்கார்ந்து போகும் இவரைத் துறவி என்று எப்படி ஒப்புக்கொள்ள
முடியும்?’ என்று பெரியார் முழங்கிக்கொண்டு இருப்பது பெரியவரின்
காதுகளில் விழுந்தது.

அவ்வளவுதான்… மேனாவை அங்கேயே தரையிறக்கச் சொல்லி இறங்கிவிட்டார்
பெரியவர். “அவர் ஏதோ சொல்றார்; சொல்லிட்டுப் போறார். அதைப் பெரிசா
எடுத்துக்காதீங்கோ! உங்களைச் சுமந்துண்டு போறதை நாங்க பாக்கியமா
கருதறோம்!’என்று மடத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் பெரியவரிடம்
கெஞ்சியிருக்கிறார்கள்.

“இல்லை. அவர் சொல்றதுதான் சரி! சுகத்தைத் துறக்காதவன் துறவியே இல்லை.
இனிமே எனக்கு இந்த மேனா வேண்டாம். இனி நான் எங்கே போகணும்னாலும்
நடந்துதான் போகப் போறேன்’ என்று தீர்மானமான முடிவெடுத்துவிட்டார்
காஞ்சிப் பெரியவர்.
கடைசி வரையிலும், அவர் அந்த முடிவிலிருந்து மாறவில்லை. அவர் கால்கள்
தெம்பு இருக்கும்வரை நடந்துகொண்டே இருந்தன.

No Limit for The Compassion of Mahaperiavaa….

It was the beginning of May, with the sun at its scorching best. There was a political meeting opposite to Kacchabeswarar (Kacchabam – tortoise) temple. Atheists. The audience was around 200. The leader swore that he would demolish all temples, build industries in those places and provide jobs to everyone.

Inside the Kanchi mutt, Periava called for the Paatti who used to serve butter milk in front of the mutt. He told her to make an ‘Unda’ full of butter milk. He listed the ingredients – asafetida, curry leaves, green chillies, ginger, mustard (boiled). The Sishyas and devotees were surprised at His knowledge and were also worried because it was an ordinary day and there were not too many people at the mutt.

Meanwhile, the atheist’s meeting ended, and the leader got into the car and drove away. The crowd walked to the bus stop near the mutt. Then they saw the Paatti serving butter milk. In hardly 10 minutes, the ‘unda’ was empty. Then, one of them said to another, ‘ shall we go and have darshan of Sami?’. Everyone felt the same, but hesitated because they thought others would curse them.

At that moment, Maha Swami came out to go to Gangai Kondan Mandapam to have darshan of Anjaneyar. The whole crowd prostrated before Him on the mid-day, May month, hot sand. Periava stopped, blessed them and asked, ‘ did all of you get butter milk?’.

There could be limits to Gods’ (Shiva, Vishnu…) mercy, but not for Periava’s compassion.

என்று அறிந்த ஒரு அந்தண அடியார், சீமை சென்று திரும்பிய பின், அங்கும்
தமது ஆசாரங்களை வழுவாது பின்பற்றியதை பெரியவாளிடம் தெரிவித்தால் அதை அவர்
ஏற்று கொள்வார் என்று எண்ணினார்.

“இங்கிலாந்தில் கூட விடாமல் அம்மாவாசை தர்ப்பணம் பண்ணினேன்”

“அதாவது…..நீ போனது போறாதுன்னு, ஒன்னோட பித்ருக்களையும் சீமைக்கு
வரவழைச்சுட்டியாகĮ 1;கும்?” என்று சிரித்துகொண்டே ஒரு வெட்டு வெட்டினார்
பெரியவா!

சொன்னேன். வ்ருத்தியாறதுக்கு பெரியவாதான் அனுக்ரஹிக்கணும்”

“அபத்தம் வ்ருத்தியாவதற்கு நான் வேற அனுக்ரஹிக்கணுமா?” என்றார் குறும்பாக பெரியவா!

ஒருமுறை திருமதி M S ம் திரு சதாஸிவமும் கச்சேரிக்காக வெளிநாடு
சென்றுவிட்டு திரும்பியதும் பெரியவாளை தர்சனம் பண்ண வந்தார்கள். பூஜை
முடிந்து எல்லாருக்கும் தன் கையாலேயே தீர்த்தம் குடுத்துக்
கொண்டிருந்தார் பெரியவா. அந்த வரிசையில் சதாஸிவத்துக்கு பின்னால் திரு
ரா.கணபதி நின்று கொண்டிருந்தார்.

சாதாரணமாக கடல் கடந்து போய்விட்டு வந்த பிராம்மணனுக்கு பெரியவா தன்
கையால் சந்திரமௌலீஸ்வரர் அபிஷேக தீர்த்தம் தருவது சாஸ்த்ர விரோதமாகையால்
சதாசிவத்துக்கு பெரியவா கையால் தீர்த்தம் கிடைக்காது என்பது ரா.கணபதிக்கு
நிதர்சனமாக தெரிந்திருந்தது. ஆனால், சதாசிவத்துக்கு இந்த விஷயம்
தெரியாதாகையால் ரொம்ப சந்தோஷமாக இவரோடு பேசிக்கொண்டே கியூவில் முன்னேறிக்
கொண்டிருந்தார்.

ரா.கணபதிக்கு ரொம்ப இக்கட்டான சூழ்நிலை. “பெரியவாளே கதி” என்று நகர்ந்து
கொண்டிருந்தார். இதோ! சதாஸிவம் பெரியவா முன்னால் தீர்த்தத்துக்காக கையை
நீட்டிவிட்டார்…….

பெரியவா உத்ரணியை பாத்திரத்துக்குள் போட்டுவிட்டு, பக்கத்திலிருந்த
தேங்காயை எடுத்து தரையில் தட்டி உடைத்தார்……

“இன்னிக்கி ஒனக்கு ஸ்பெஷல் தீர்த்தம்!” இளநீரை சதாசிவத்தின் கைகளில்
விட்டார்! சதாசிவத்தின் முகத்தில் ஏகப்பட்ட சந்தோஷம்! ரா.கணபதிக்கோ
நிம்மதி பெருமூச்சு!

“பாத்தியா? இன்னிக்கி பெரியவா எனக்கு மட்டும் ஸ்பெஷல்..லா தீர்த்தம்
குடுத்துட்டார்!…”

சாஸ்த்ரத்தையும் மீறாமல், பிறர் மனஸ் நோகாமல் தீர்வு காண தெய்வத்தால்
மட்டுமே முடியும்!

Repetition of God’s Name is the process by which the dedicatory attitude can be cultivated and grown. When confronted by a calamity, you must attach yourself to this spiritual practice, even more firmly, instead of losing faith in it and getting slack. Do not give up the medicine, when you need it the most! The pity is that when most people face the first disappointment, they lose courage and confidence, and give up their Lord! There are also others, who call out the Names of the Lord, when they are displeased with some happenings, or when they are depressed, in a tone indicative of disgust, uttering it with a sigh or a groan. This is very incorrect. The Name of the Lord must always be pronounced with joy, gratitude, exultation and remembering Him in all splendour. Call Him with Love, call Him with a heart full of sincere yearning.

Netherland

Children in Netherland come under the Dutch Law of compulsory education from the ages five to eighteen. Most international schools in Netherland are subsidized by the Dutch Ministry of education. Primary education in Netherlands is mainly based on measure to measure curricula. A lot of responsibility is taken in standardized testing and the results that are achieved.

 

Denmark

American Innovation Award for Indian-American….

Washington: A renowned Indian-American inventor at IBM, Rangaswamy Srinivasan, has been nominated by U.S. President Barack Obama for the prestigious National Medal of Technology and Innovation.

Along with Srinivasan, President Obama named 12 eminent researchers as recipients of the National Medal of Science and 10 extraordinary inventors for the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, the highest honours bestowed by the U.S. government upon scientists, engineers, and inventors.

The recipients will receive their awards at a White House ceremony in early 2013.

In 1981, Srinivasan discovered that an ultraviolet excimer laser could etch living tissues in a precise manner with no thermal damage to the surrounding area. He named the phenomenon Ablative Photo Decomposition (APD). According to his profile on the Hall of Fame website, Srinivasan and his co-inventors ran tests using the excimer laser and a conventional, green laser to etch organic matter. They discovered that while the green laser produced rough incisions, damaged by charring from the heat, the excimer laser produced clean, neat incisions.

In 1983, he collaborated with an ophthalmic surgeon to develop APD to etch the cornea. It resulted in a procedure to correct vision known today as Lasik surgery. Since the introduction of Lasik, millions of people have taken advantage of this procedure that reduces dependency on corrective lenses.

Inducted into the U.S. “Inventor Hall of Fame” in 2002, Srinivasan has spent 30 years at IBM’s T.J. Watson Research Center. He has 21 U.S. patents under his name and received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in science from the University of Madras, in 1949 and 1950. He earned doctorate in physical chemistry at the University of southern California in 1956.

“I am proud to honour these inspiring American innovators,” President Obama said, adding: “They represent the ingenuity and imagination that has long made this nation great, and they remind us of the enormous impact a few good ideas can have when these creative qualities are unleashed in an entrepreneurial environment.”

The National Medal of Technology and Innovation was created by statute in 1980 and is administered for the White House by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Patent and Trademark Office. The award recognises those who have made lasting contributions to America’s competitiveness and quality of life and helped strengthen the nation’s technological workforce.

The National Medal of Science was created in 1959 and is administered for the White House by the National Science Foundation.

Embodiments of Love! In all religions and countries, birthdays of great personalities are celebrated, but the ideals for which they lived are not remembered and followed. This turns celebrations into artificial observances. Christ taught people to love all beings and serve all with compassion. It is only by practising these ideals that one can truly celebrate Jesus Christ’s birthday. The Divinity within should be reflected in your every action. The seat of Truth is in your heart. Worshipping God means loving others with your full heart. You must live in love and lead a life of selfless service based on love. This is the best way to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

To live in “JOY”, make Jesus your first priority, Others next and Your needs, the Last. –
