The lion thought its prayers were answered when one US Zoo Manager visited the zoo and requested the zoo management to shift the lion to the US Zoo.The lion was so happy and started thinking of a central A/c environment, a goat or two every day and a US Green Card also. On its first day after arrival,the lion was offered a big bag, sealed very nicely for breakfast.
The lion opened it quickly but was shocked to see that it contained few bananas. Then the lion thought that may be they cared too much for him as they were worried about his stomach as he had recently shifted from India .
The next day the same thing happened. On the third day again the same food bag of bananas was delivered.
The lion was so furious, it stopped the delivery boy and blasted at him, ‘Don’t you know I am the lion…king of the Jungle…, what’s wrong with your management?, what nonsense is this?, why are you delivering bananas to me?’
The delivery boy politely said, ‘Sir, I know you are the king of the jungle but .. Did you know that you have been brought here on a monkey’s visa !!!!!’
Moral of Story : Better to be a Lion in India than a Monkey elsewhere !!!

ஜீவகாருண்யம் அன்பின் ஒரு பகுதி ….
அன்பைப் பேணுபவர்கள், அன்பு செலுத்த விரும்புகிறவர்கள், அன்பை மதிப்பவர்கள், அன்பாக இருக்க விரும்புபவர்கள் காருண்யத்தை கடைப்பிடித்தேயாக வேண்டும்.
அருளாளர் மாணிக்கவாசகரிடம் “ஐய நீவிர் எதைக் கண்டு மிகவும் பயப்படுவீர்கள்’ என்று வினவினார்கள். கள்வரோ, கொலைகாரரோ, காட்டு மிருகங்களோ அவருக்கு ஒரு பொருட்டாக தெரியவில்லை. “அன்பிலார் தமைக் கண்டு அஞ்சுமாறே’ என்றார். அன்பிலாதவர்கள் கொடியவர்களாக, அஞ்சப்பட வேண்டியவர்கள் என்பது அவரது கணிப்பு.
திருமூலர் “அன்பே சிவமாவது ஆரும் அறிகிலார்’ என்றார். அன்புதான் இறைவனென்றால் அன்புக்கு ஒப்பிட வேறு ஒன்றும் இல்லை.
ஜீவகாருண்யத்தை வெகுவாகப் போற்றி இறைவனை நாடுபவர்கள் அதைக் கடைபிடிக்க வேண்டுமென்று ஆழமாக எடுத்துச் சொன்னவர்களுள் வள்ளலார் முன்னிலையில் நிற்கிறார். அவருடைய பாடல்கள் ஜீவகாருண்யம் என்பது மனிதர்களையும், விலங்குகளையும் மட்டுமல்லாது செடி, கொடி பயிர்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும் உள்ளடக்கும் என்று பேசுகிறது.
“வாடிய பயிறைக் கண்டோ தெல்லாம் வாடினேன்
பசியினால் இளைத்தே,
வீடுதோ றிரந்தும் பசியறா தயர்ந்த வெற்றரைக்
கண்டுளம் பதைத்தேன்.
நீடிய பிணியால் வருந்துகின்றோர் என் நேர்
உறக்கண்டுளந்துடித்தேன்,
ஈடின்மானிகளாய் ஏழைகளாய் நெஞ் சிளைத்தவர்
தமைக்கண்டே இளைத்தேன்’ என்று வள்ளார் பாடினார். இத்துடன் அவர் நிற்கவில்லை.
மற்றவர்களுடைய துன்பத்தைப் போக்கும் வல்லமையை வரமாகத் தரும்படி வள்ளலார் இறைவனிடம் வேண்டினார்.
ஜீவ காருண்யத்தைப் பற்றி மனதை உருக்கும் திருக்குறள் ஒன்று உண்டு.
“கொல்லான் புலாலை மறுத்தானைக் கைகூப்பி
எல்லா உயிரும் தொழும்’
“உயிர்களைக் கொல்லாதவன், விலங்குகளின் தசையை உண்ணாதவன், பாதையில் நடந்து செல்லும் பொழுது பாதையில் அவனைப் பார்க்கின்ற உயிர்களெல்லாம் அவனைக் கைகூப்பித் தொழும்’ என்று வள்ளுவர் சொல்கிறார்.
திரு. சுகிசிவம் அவர்கள் இது பற்றி ஒரு கருத்துச் சொல்வார்கள். ஒரு பாம்பு போகும் போது அதைச் சீண்டினால் அது தனது உயிருக்கு ஆபத்து என்று அறிந்தவுடன் தன் உடலிலுள்ள விஷத்தையெல்லாம் தேக்கிக் கடித்து விஷத்தை உமிழ்கிறது. இதைப்போல் எந்த ஒரு பிராணியும் அதனுடைய உயிருக்கு ஆபத்து ஏற்படும்போது தன் உடலிலுள்ள விஷத்தை வெளியில் கொண்டுவரும் என்பதில் சந்தேகமில்லை. கொல்லப்படும்போது எல்லா விலங்குகளும் தங்களுடைய உடம்பிலுள்ள விஷத்தை வெளிக் கொணர்ந்து விடுகின்றன என்பது மறுக்கமுடியாத உண்மை.
ஜீவன்களுக்கு கருணைக் காட்டுவதில் சத்தியசாயி பகவான் மிக உச்சத்தில் காணப்படுகிறார்.
ஒருமுறை பகவான் காரில் போய்க் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். பாதையில் ஒரு பாம்பு குறுக்கே ஓடியது. ஓட்டுனர் வண்டியை பிரேக் போடாமல் பாம்பின் மேல் வண்டியை ஏற்றிவிட்டான். புட்டப்பர்த்தி வந்ததும் பகவான் வாகனத்திலிருந்து இறங்கினார். நேரே தனது அறைக்குச் சென்றார். ஓட்டுனரை கூப்பிட்டு அனுப்பினார். ஓட்டுனர் வந்தவுடன் தனது மேலங்கியை கழற்றி ஓட்டுனருக்குக் காட்டினார். முதுகிலே டயரின் தடம் பதிந்திருந்தது. பகவான் “பார் அந்தப் பாம்பின் மேல் நீ காரை ஏற்றவில்லை என் முதுகின் மேல் ஏற்றிவிட்டாய்’ என்றார். ஓட்டுனருக்கு வியர்த்தது. கையும் காலும் ஓடவில்லை. “இனிமேல் இம்மாதிரியாக நடந்து கொள்ளாதே’ என்று எச்சரித்து அனுப்பி வைத்தார்.
இன்னொரு முறை சித்திராவதி நதிக்கு அக்கரையிலிருந்து ஒரு குடும்பம் பகவானைப் பார்க்க வந்திருந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் இரண்டு நாட்கள் தங்கினார்கள். பகவானிடம் விடை பெற்று, தங்கள் ஊருக்குப் புறப்பட்டுச் சென்றார்கள். பகவான் உடனே அவர்களை கூப்பிட்டு அனுப்பினார். “நீங்கள் மாட்டு வண்டியில் தானே வந்தீர்கள்’ என்று பகவான் கேட்டார். தொடர்ந்தும் சொன்னார். “நான்கு பெரியவர்களும், மூன்று குழந்தைகளும் இருக்கின்றீர்கள்’. சித்திராவதி நதிப்படுக்கை மணலாக இருக்கிறது. ஆற்றøக் கடந்த பிறகு நீங்கள் வண்டியில் ஏறிக் கொள்ளுங்கள். அதற்கு முன் வண்டியில் ஏறினால் மாடு மிகவும் கஷ்டப்படும். மாட்டைக் கஷ்டப்படுத்தாதீர்கள் என்று அவர்களுக்கு அறிவுரை சொல்லி அனுப்பி வைத்தார். எங்கோ இருக்கின்ற மாட்டுக்காக இறைவனின் இதயம் எவ்வளவு கனிகிறது என்று பாருங்கள்.
சாயி பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் உடற்பயிற்சி விளையாட்டுகள் நடக்கின்றன. அதில் அங்கமாக மார்ச் பாஸ்ட் என்ற அணிவகுப்பு நடக்கிறது. அச்சமயம் பார்த்து நிறைமாதக் கர்ப்பமாகத் தெரியும் ஒரு நாய் மைதானத்துள் புகுகிறது. விளையாட்டு ஆரவாரங்களை அது சற்றும் கவனியாமல் நேரே பல்கலைக்கழக வேந்தனான பகவானை நோக்கி ஓடுகிறத. விளையாட்டுக்களை பார்வையிட பகவான் மேடையிலே அமர்ந்திருக்கிறார். அவரை நோக்கி அந்த நாய் ஓடுகிறது. பகவானை நோக்கி ஓடுகிற நாயை எப்படித் துரத்துவதென்று எல்லோரும் திகைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். அணியை விட்டு விலகிப் போய் அந்த நாயை விரட்டுவதை சுவாமி ஏற்றுக்கொள்வாரா என்று மாணவர்கள் கலங்கிக் கொண்டே லெஃப்ட்ரைட் போட்டுச் சென்றனர்.
ஒரு மாணவன் மாத்திரம் சற்று துணிவு கொண்டு நாயை விரட்டப் பார்த்தான். ஆனால் நாயோ சற்றும் சளைக்காமல் பகவானை நோக்கி ஓடியது. மேடை அருகில் அந்த நாய் நின்றது. முகம் தூக்கி நேரே நாயகன் முகம் பார்த்தது. பகவான விளையாட்டு விழாவை மறந்தார். அந்த நாய்க்கு அன்பு செய்யவே அங்கு வந்தாற் போன்ற ஒரு பிரேமை ஆட்கொண்டது. அவரது கரத்திலிருந்து தின்பண்டங்கள் விழுந்து கொண்டே இருந்தன. கர்ப்பிணி நாய் லபக் லபக் என்று உண்டது. எல்லையில்லா கருணையுள்ளம் அல்லவா இது.
அன்பு காட்ட ஆளின்றி தெருத் தெருவாய் அலைந்த ஒரு நாயைக் கண்டு அலறினார் ஆங்கிலக் கவிஞர் அன்னா பிராஞ்ச்.
உனக்கொரு கடவுள் இல்லையெனில் எனக்கும் கடவுள் இல்லையே இல்லை என்று பாடிய ஆங்கிலக் கவிஞர் இந்தக் காட்சியைக் கண்டிருந்தால் இந்தப் பாட்டைப் பாடியிருக்கமாட்டார்.
புறப்படுவதற்காக எழுந்திருந்த சுவாமி சட்டென்று திரும்பி மேலும் சில தின்பண்டங்களை நாயின் வாயில் ஊட்டினார்.
இந்த நாய்க்கு காட்டிய கனிவு முந்திய அவதாரத்திலிருந்தே வருகிறதோ?
ஒருநாள் மாலை சீரடி பாபா, தாத்யாவுடன் மசூதியில் அமர்ந்துகொண்டிருக்கும் போது லட்சுமிபாய் வந்து வணங்கினாள். “பாபா அவளிடம், ஓ! லட்சுமி, நான் மிகவும் பசியாய் இருக்கிறேன்’ என்றார். “பாபா சற்றுநேரம் பொறுங்கள். நான் ரொட்டியுடன் வருகிறேன்’ என்று கூறிக்கொண்டு சென்றாள். பிறகு ரொட்டி, காய்கறிகளுடன் அவள் திரும்பினாள். அவர் அதை எடுத்து நாய்க்குக் கொடுத்தார்.
அதற்கு லட்சுமி, பாபா இது என்ன? உங்களுக்காக நான் அவசரமாக ஓடி எனது கைகளால் ரொட்டி தயாரித்தேன். நீங்கள் அதில் சிறிதேனும் எடுத்துக் கொள்ளாமல் நாயிடம் தூக்கி ஏறிகிறீர்களே! வீணாக எனக்குத் தொல்லை கொடுத்தீர்கள்? என்றாள். அதற்க பாபா, ஒன்றுமில்லாததற்காக ஏன் கவலைப்படுகிறாய். நாயின் பசிøய் தணிப்பது என் பசியைத் தணிப்பது போன்றதேயாம். நாய்க்கும் ஓர் ஆத்மா இருக்கிறது. ஜந்துக்கள் வெவ்வேறாயிருப்பினும் சில பேசினும், சில ஊமையாயிருப்பினும் அவையாவற்றுமுடைய பசியும் ஒன்றேயாம். பசியாய் இருப்போருக்கு உணவு அளிப்பவன் உண்மையிலேயே எனக்கு உணவைப் பரிமாறுகிறான் என்று நிச்சயமாக அறிந்து கொள்வாயாக. இதை ஒரு ஆதார நீதிக்கதையாகக் கருது என்று பதிலளித்தார். இது ஒரு சாதாரண சிறிய நிகழ்ச்சிதான். ஆனால், அது ஒரு மிகப் பெரும் ஆன்மிக உண்மையை பாபா அதன் மூலம் முன்னிலைக்குக் கொணர்ந்து காட்டினார். தினசரி வாழ்வில் அதை நடைமுறைக்குக் கொண்டுவருவதலை, எவருடைய உணர்ச்சியும் துன்புறாதமுøயில் எடுத்துக்காட்டினார்.
1972ல் பாபாவின் பிறந்தநாளுக்காக 108 பக்தர்களுக்கு நவம்பர் 24ம் தேதி திகதிபஜனை மண்டபத்தில் தனியாக, பிரத்தியேக தரிசனம் வழங்குகிறார். வரிசையாக உள்ள ஒவ்வொருவரிடமும் வந்து தாமே விபூதி பொட்டலம் தருகிறார். அமர்ந்திருந்த பெண்மணிக்கு வழங்கிவிட்டு, அடுத்தவரிடம் நகர்ந்த பாபா மீண்டும் அவளிடமே தரும்பி வந்து இன்னும் 2 பொட்டலங்களைப் போட்டு “யே பில்லி கே லியே’ (இவை பூனைக்காக என்கிறார்) ஆம் அவளுக்கு நினைவு வந்து விட்டது. கண்கள் குளமாயின. எட்டு மாதங்களுக்கு முன் அவளுடைய வளர்ப்புப் பூனை திடீரென்று மேசைக்குத்தாவி ஒரு தின்பண்டத்தை கௌவிக் கொண்டு ஓடியது. கடும் கோபம் கொண்ட பெண்மணி பக்கத்திலிருந்த தடியால் கடுமையாக அடித்துவிட்டார். சுவரில் மாட்டியிருந்த பாபவின் படங்கள் அனைத்தும் தடதடவென விழுந்தன.
மனமிறங்கி புனித அச்சத்தினால் நடுங்கினாள். பூனையைக் கையிலே தூக்கி வருடினாள் என்ன ஆச்சர்யம். பூனை மேல் பூராவும் விபூதி. பாபாவின் வியூதிக்கே உரிய சுகந்தம் வீசுகிறது. பூனையின் புண் ஆறியது. புண் செய்தவளின் கண் ஆறாகப் பெருகியது. அதில் அவள் செய்த குற்றம் கரைந்தது.
எட்டு மாதங்களுக்குப் பின் அந்த பூனைக்குத் தான் ஸ்பெஷலாக இரண்டு பொட்டலங்கள் கொடத்தனுப்புகிறார் கருணை வள்ளல் பாபா. வாயில்லா ஜீவங்களுக்காகத் தன் நிலையிலிருந்து இறங்கிவந்து அருளும் பகவான் தொண்டுசெய்யும் நமக்காக என்னவெல்லாம் செய்வான்
