Perfectly Balanced Stones!!!!

He balances them and they balance him right back. That is relationship that has formed between Michael Grabb and his special art pieces. Grabb makes most of his statues in the streams of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. His is a Sisyphean work of piling and balancing the stones one on top of another.

This activity, he says, balances the material world with the spiritual one.On the one hand is the material nature that rocks symbolize, on the other, the perfect harmony and balance that comes from the spiritual world, as well as the connection to the natural world. The results are fantastic and creative, when we see his implausible creations.

Message For The Day….Be Ever Alert Against Temptations….

The temptation to ignore Dharma grows from egoism and the acceptance of false values. The wish to satisfy the lower desire is the root of adharma (unrighteousness). This wish takes hold of you slyly, pretending to be a comrade come to save you, or like a servant come to attend on you, or like a counsellor come to warn you. Wickedness has a thousand tricks to capture your heart. You must be ever alert against the temptation; you often remind others of Dharma when you desire to squeeze some advantage from them. You must remember not only the rights that Dharma confers but also the duties it imposes.

Message For The Day….Be Good ..Honest and Well Behaved ….

Be fixed in the consciousness that you are the immortal Atma – holy, pure and Divine. This will give you unshakable courage and strength. Then you will develop mutual love and respect. Tolerate all kinds of persons and opinions, all attitudes and peculiarities. The school, your home, your workplace and the society – all of these are training grounds for tolerance. Each one must be aware of their duties and rights. All relationships must be based on love, and not fear. Only the atmosphere of love can guarantee happy co-operation and concord. Above all, be good, honest and well-behaved. That will make your degrees and achievements more desirable and valuable.

Who, What, Why: What is ‘ungoogleable’?!!!

Google sweets

The word “ungoogleable” has been removed from a list of new Swedish words after a trademark spat. But it raises the question of what can and can’t be found with a search engine.

Today Google appears to be the font of all data.

The idea that something can’t be found online is strange enough to have spawned its own adjective.

The word “ungoogleable” is in the headlines after a dispute between the search engine giant and Sweden’s language watchdog.

The Language Council of Sweden wanted to include “ungoogleable” – or “ogooglebar” – in its annual list of new Swedish words. But it defined the term as something that cannot be found with any search engine.

Google wanted the Swedish translation to be changed to refer only to Google searches, and the Council opted to remove the word altogether to avoid a lengthy legal battle.

The spat raises the question of just what “ungoogleable” means. Or more specifically, are some things still impossible to find with a search engine? And if so, is it a deliberate strategy?

To be ungoogleable might be a blessing  or curse !!!!

Message For The Day….Practice Right Conduct !!!

What is the most precious jewel we must acquire and why? Bhagawan lovingly and clearly explains to us today.

‘Speak the Truth and Practice Righteousness, Sathyam Vada Dharmam Chara,’ says the scriptures. They also declareSathyam Naasthi Paro Dharmaha – there is no dharma or law greater than Truth. Note that the Vedic injunction is “Dharmam Chara” – Practice Right Conduct. It is not enough if you learn about it, you must practice it, fill every moment with thoughts, words and deeds that reflect your awareness of this Dharma. Such a life is the hallmark of one who possesses true good character. And it is this character which the scriptures refer to as one’s best ornament.

Apple Imagines An iPhone That’s All Glass And All Screen, All The Way Around !!!

Apple just published a patent that imagines what an iPhone would look like if the whole phone body were a wraparound screen.

Here’s what Apple’s drawing looks like, via Patently Apple:

Patently Apple’s summary of Apple’s patent filing:

Today’s invention focuses on the flexible wraparound display that could be fashioned in aluminum, aluminum and glass or a fully transparent design. This future iPhone design won’t have any physical buttons so controlling the audio on the iPhone will simply require you to hover your hand over the side of the display to temporarily illustrate the controls. The new design could also produce 3D visuals through its unique dual display design. This is certainly one of Apple’s hottest inventions of the year.

Neat, right?

OK, but keep something in mind.

Apple files all kinds of patents for gadgets and technologies that never actually see the light of day. Apple does this to keep its options open. The rule is: think of an idea? Patent it. Before Samsung does.

So, the image above could be a preview of the iPhone 6 or iPhone 7 – or it could be a total red herring.

Steve Jobs On His First Day at Apple !!!!

Steve Jobs

Source: news.com.au

STEVE Jobs didn’t always wear his signature black skivvy. In fact, newly found photos showed he wore purple on his first day at work. Well… kind of.

A former Apple employee recently discovered a set of photos of Steve Jobs taken on the first day of his return to the company.

Jobs had been fired from Apple in 1985 after allegedly organising a “Coup d’état” of the Apple board. He was invited back to the company more than a decade later in 1996.

Former Mac OS Evangelist Tim Holmes had been working late that night, and was invited by his boss to attend a “Town Hall” meeting which was usually for things like company announcements.

However, “it was clearly not a company meeting,” Holmes wrote on his Flickr account.

Holmes said he called his wife and told her to meet him there. “We had no idea what was about to happen.”

You can guess what happened next. Apple was about to introduce Jobs as the de-facto chief. (Then CEO, Gil Amelio would be ousted within a year).

The photos were taken with one of Apple’s first cameras, the Apple QuickTake. It was a camera Jobs himself would kill within the year, and probably for good reason. The colours were all wrong.

Holmes emphasized that Jobs was wearing a black jacket “in real life”, as opposed to the bright purple it appears to be in the photo.

“The colours are way off due to the poor quality of digital cameras in 1996,” Holmes explained.
