Instead of behaving in accordance with these noble virtues, people submit themselves to evil qualities like lust, greed, anger, jealousy, hatred and avarice which does not befit a human being. These changes are due to one’s food habits and behavior. The food you take and the water you drink must be pure, and timely. Lead a well regulated human life and realise the Divine within you.

இதை மாற்றினால் போதும்!

ஒரு பக்கம் சாஸ்திர நம்பிக்கையுள்ள கட்டுப் பெட்டிகள், மறுபக்கம் நவீனக் கல்வி படித்தவர்கள் என்று பிரிந்திருப்பதே தவறு. சாஸ்திரத்தில் நம்பிக்கை மட்டுமில்லாமல், நாமே எல்லா சாஸ்திரங்களையும், வித்யைகளையும் படித்தால் கட்டுப்பெட்டிகளாக இருக்க வேண்டியதேயில்லை. அதனால் அவற்றையும் படித்து, மாடர்ன் ஸயன்ஸ்களையும் படித்து, இந்த ஸயன்ஸிலும் நிறைய அம்சங்கள் நம் சாஸ்திரங்களில் இருக்கின்றன என்பதைப் புரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும். இதே மாதிரி ஸயன்ஸ்காரர்களும் சாஸ்திரங்களைப் படித்துப் புரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்பது என் ஆசை. இதற்காக பகவானைப் பிரார்த்தனை பண்ணுகிறேன். ஒன்றுக்கொன்று ‘காம்ப்ளிமென்டரி’யாக பழசும் புதிசும் இட்டு நிரப்பிக் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

நானும் சரி, மற்றவர்களும் சரி எவ்வளவு பேசினாலும் லெக்சரால் கல்சர் (கலாசாரம்) வளராது. படிப்பதாலும் வளராது. நமக்கென்று காரியத்தில் பின்னி வைத்திருக்கிற அநுஷ்டானங்களைப் பண்ணினால்தான் சித்த சுத்தி ஏற்பட்டு, நாம் படிப்பதில் ஸாரம் எது என்று புரிந்துகொண்டு அதைக் கிரஹித்துக் கொண்டு கல்சரை வளர்க்க முடியும். பிற தேச விஷயங்களில் எதை எடுத்துக் கொள்வது என்று பரிசீலித்து முடிவு செய்வதற்கு அஸ்திவாரமாக முதலில் நம் சாஸ்திரப்படி வாழ முயற்சி பண்ண வேண்டும்.

இக்காலத்தில் ஆஹாரம், விஹாரம், வாஹனம் எல்லாமே மாறித்தான் விட்டது. அத்தனையும் நம் பண்பாட்டுப்படி மாற்ற முடியுமா என்று மலைப்பாயிருந்தாலும், கொஞ்சம் strain பண்ணிக் கொண்டாவது (சிரமப்படுத்திக் கொண்டாவது) சிலதையாவது மாற்ற ஆரம்பிக்கத்தான் வேண்டும். நம் மதத்துக்கு ஆதாரமான ஆசாரங்கள், ஆஹார சுத்தி முதலியவை, பழக்கத்தில் இருந்தால்தான் போஷிக்கும். முதலில் லெக்சராகவும் அப்புறம் லைப்ரரியில் புஸ்தகமாகவும் மட்டும் இருந்தால் வெறும் வறட்டுப் பெருமை தவிர பிரயோஜனமில்லை.

நான் சொல்கிறபடி மாறுவது ஒன்றும் பெரிய கஷ்டமில்லை. ஒரே ஒரு அம்சத்தை மட்டும் நாம் பிடிவாதமாக மாற்றிக் கொண்டு விட்டால் இது ஸாத்யம்தான். ‘பணம்தான் பிரதானம்’ என்பதே அந்த அம்சம். பணமே குறி என்று நாம் இறங்கின பிற்பாடுதான் ஆசாரங்கள், வித்யா ஞானம் எல்லாமே போய்விட்டன. நம் தேசத்தில் பணம் முக்யமாய் இருந்ததேயில்லை. லௌகிக வாழ்க்கையை ஆத்ம அபிவிருத்திக்கு உபாயமாக மட்டும் வைத்துக் கொள்வதுதான் நம்முடைய தேசாசாரம்.

கோதுமை உற்பத்தியை உயர்த்திய இந்திய விஞ்ஞானிக்கு உலக

உணவு விருது

இந்திய தாவரவியல் விஞ்ஞானி சஞ்சய ராஜாராமுக்கு 2014-ம் ஆண்டுக்கான உலக உணவு விருது அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

உலக கோதுமை உற்பத்தியை பசுமைப் புரட்சி மூலம் 20 கோடி டன் உயர்த்தியமைக்காக இவ்விருது அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

உலக உணவு விருது அறக்கட்டளை நிறுவனர் கென்னத் எம். குய்ன், அமெரிக்க வெளியுறவுத்துறை அமைச்சர் ஜான் கெர்ரி ஆகியோர் இதனை அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக அறிவித்தனர். இவ்விருதுக்கான பரிசுத் தொகை 2.5 லட்சம் அமெரிக்க டாலர்களாகும் (சுமார் ரூ.1.5 கோடி).

ராஜாராம், குளிர்காலம் மற்றும் கோடைகாலத்துக்கு ஏற்ற ஒட்டுவகை கோதுமை ரகங்களைக் கண்டுபிடித்தார். இவ்வகைக் கோதுமை அதிக அளவு மகசூல் கொடுக்கக்கூடியவை.

மொத்தம் 480-க்கும் அதிகமான அதிக மகசூல் தரும் கோதுமை ரகங்களை ராஜாராம் கண்டறிந்தார். இந்த கோதுமை ரகங்கள் 51 நாடுகளில் சிறு மற்றும் பெரு விவசாயிகளால் பெரிதும் பயிர் செய்யப்படுகின்றன. உலகம் முழுதும் சுமார் 6 கோடி ஹெக்டேர் வயல்களில் இவரது கோதுமை ரகங்கள் பயிர் செய்யப்பட்டன என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

விருது குறித்த அறிவிப்பை வெளியிட்ட அமெரிக்க வெளியுறவுத் துறை அமைச்சர் ஜான் கெர்ரி கூறுகையில், “ராஜாராமின் சேவை, நாம் இன்னும் பணி செய்ய வேண்டும் என அனைவரையும் தூண்டுவதாக இருக்கிறது. அடுத்த 30 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு 200 கோடிக்கும் அதிகமான மக்களுக்கான தேவையைப் பூர்த்தி செய்வது என்பது கணக்கிடுவதற்குத் சிரமம். இது இரண்டாவது பசுமைப் புரட்சிக்கான நேரமாகும்.

ராஜாராம் கண்டறிந்த நூற்றுக்கணக்கான கோதுமை ரகங்களுக்காக நாம் நன்றி சொல்லக் கடமைப் பட்டிருக்கிறோம். அவர் கண்டுபிடித்த கோதுமை ரகங்கள் ஆண்டுக்கு 20 கோடி டன் கோதுமை உற்பத்தியை அதிகரித்து, உலகம் முழுவதும் லட்சக் கணக்கானவர்களின் உணவுத் தேவையை நிறைவு செய்துள்ளது” என்றார்.

பசுமைப் புரட்சியின் தந்தை என கூறப்படும் நார்மன் இ போர்லாக், சர்வதேச மக்காச்சோளம் மற்றும் கோதுமை மேம்பாட்டு மையத்தின் (சிஐஎம்எம்ஒய்டி) கோதுமைத் திட்டத்தை 1976-ம் ஆண்டு முதல் 2001-ம் ஆண்டு வரை வழிநடத்தி வந்தார். அவருக்குப் பிறகு அத்திட்டத்தின் இயக்குநர் பொறுப்பை ராஜாராம் ஏற்றார்.

உத்தரப்பிரதேச மாநிலத்தில் பிறந்த ராஜாராம், ஆஸ்திரேலியாவின் சிட்னி பல்கலைக் கழகத்தில் டாக்டர் பட்டம் பெற்றார். தற்போது மெக்ஸிகோவில் வசித்து வருகிறார்.

Love and respect them at all times. You must satisfy the needs of your parents, using the education they gave you. Their satisfaction will give you infinite joy. வாரியாரின் நகைச்சுவை பொதிந்த சொற்ப்பொழிவுகள், கருத்துக்கள் எக்காலத்துக்கும் நிலைத்து நிற்பவை.அப்படிப்பட்ட வாரியாரின் கருத்துக்கள் கொஞ்சம் இங்கே உங்கள் பார்வைக்கு.

உலாவ இடமா இல்லை : “வெள்ளிப் பனிமலையின் மீதுலாவுவோம்” என்று பாடினார் பாரதியார். அங்கு ஏன் உலாவ வேண்டும்? உலாவ பீச்,பார்க் என்று எத்தனையோ இடம் இருக்கிறதே? அங்கெல்லாம் உலாவுவோம் என்று ஏன் எழுதவில்லை. காரணம், பாரத தேசத்தின் அந்தப்புற எல்லையாக இருக்கிறது பனிமலை. அங்கே இருப்பவர்கள், நாட்டை காக்கும் இராணுவ வீரர்கள். அவர்கள் எல்லாம் ஒரே இடத்தில் இருந்தால், பகைவர்கள் நுழைந்து விடுவார்களே.அதனால்தான் வெள்ளிப் பனி மலையில் உலாவிக் கொண்டே, நடந்து கொண்டே இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்க்காகத்தான் பாரதி இப்படி பாடினான்.

வேறுபாடு இல்லா பெண் உலகம் : எல்லா வேறுபாடுகளும் ஆண் உலகிலேயே காணப்படுகின்றன. பெண் உலகுக்கு இந்த வேறுபாடுகள் கிடையாது. ஐயர்,செட்டியார்,நாயுடு, முதலியார் முதலிய ஜாதிப் பெயர்கள் எல்லாம் ஆணின் பெயரை ஒட்டியே வருகின்றன. பெண் எந்த ஜாதியை சேர்ந்தவராக இருந்தாலும் மீனாட்சி அம்மாள், காமாட்சி அம்மாள் என்றுதானே வழங்குகின்றன.

அதிகம் எது? : பாண்டவர்கள் ஐந்து பேர். கவுரவர்கள் நூறு பேர். அந்த காலத்திலேயே நல்லவர்கள் ஐந்து பேரும், கெட்டவர்கள் நூறு பேரும் ஆக இருந்தார்கள். இப்போது கேட்கவா வேண்டும்?

கள் தேவை : கள்ளை குடித்தால்தான் போதை எனபது இல்லை. ‘கள்’ என்று சொன்னாலே பலர் மயங்கி விடுகிறார்கள். “நீ” என்பதற்க்கு பதில் நீங்’கள்’ என்று சொல்லிப்பாருங்கள். எல்லாம் அந்த ‘கள்’ செய்யும் வேலைதான்.

சினிமா: இப்போதைய சினிமாக்களை (கவனியுங்க!) பணம் பண்ணும் சாதனமாக ஆக்கிவிட்டார்கள். சினிமாக்கள் மூலம் நல்ல கருத்துக்களை இந்த சினிமாக்காரர்கள் சொல்லாமே? ஏன் சொல்லத் தயங்குகிறார்கள்? நான் ஆயிரம் சொற்பொழிவு நடத்துவதும் சரி, ஒரு நல்ல சினிமா வருவதும் சரி. பணம் சம்பாதியுங்கள். அதே சமயம் சமுதாயத்தையும் உருப்படவிடுங்கள்.

பதவி அலைச்சல்: ராமபிரான், ஆட்சியே வேண்டாம் என்று, பெரிய பதவியை துறந்து தந்தை சொல்லைக் கேட்டு காட்டுக்கு போனார். ஆனால், இப்போது சிலர் பிள்ளையார் கோவில் அறங்காவலர் பதவிக்கே அலையாய் அலைகிறார்கள்.

சாமியார் பட்டம்: கலெக்டரிடம் சினேகம் பண்ணுபவனுக்கு மக்கள் மதிப்பு கொடுக்கிறார்கள் அதுபோல, கடவுளிடம் பழகுபவனுக்கும் மக்கள் மதிப்பு கொடுக்கிறார்கள்.ஆனால், தினமும் விபுதி கொடுப்பவனையே சாமியார் ஆக்கி விடுகிறார்களே!.

நாத்திகவாதிகள் வாழ்க: இறைவனை எதிர்த்து பேசி வருவதால், இறைவனின் புகழ் மேலும் வளரும். ஆதலால், இறைவனை எதிர்ப்பவரும் இறைத்தொண்டுதான் செய்கின்றனர். குடையை விரித்து யாரும் சூரியனை மறைத்து விட முடியாது.

கோவில் எதற்கு? : இறைவன் எங்கும் நிறைந்திருந்தாலும், கோவிலில் உள்ள திரு உருவத்தில் விளங்கித் தோன்றுகின்றான். பசுவின் உடம்பில் பாலைப் பெற முயற்சி செய்கின்ற ஒருவன், பசுவின் கொம்பையோ, காதுகளையோ,வாலையோ வருடினால் பால் கிடைக்குமா? எனவே, பசுவின் பால் பெற விரும்புவோன், பசுவின் மடியை வருடிப் பால் பெறுவது போல, இறைவனின் அருளைப் பெற விரும்புவோன், கோவில் சென்று இறைவன் திருமுன் நின்று வழிப்பட்டு திருவருளைப் பெறுதல் வேண்டும்.

வாரியாரின் அர்த்தமிக்க, அற்புதமான கருத்துக்களை உள்ளடக்கிய வார்த்தை விளையாட்டுகள்தான் மக்களிடம் ஆன்மிகம் எளிதாக சென்றடைய காரணம் என்பது உங்களுக்கு விளங்குகிறது அல்லவா?

தன் குரலை வைத்து ‘மிமிக்ரி” செய்பவர்களை (செய்துவருபவர்களை) பற்றி வாரியார் பின்வருமாறு கூறி இருக்கிறார்.

“என் குரலை நிறைய பேர் “மிமிக்ரி” கிண்டல் பண்ணுகிறார்களே. அதை நான் கிண்டல் என்று சொல்லமாட்டேன். கஷ்டப்பட்டு பயிற்சி செய்து என்னைப் போலவே பேசுகின்றார்களே. அதை எண்ணி ஆச்சரியப்படுவேன். பேசினால் பேசட்டுமே. “முருகா,முருகா” என்று அவர்கள் சொல்லித்தானே ஆக வேண்டும். அது அவர்களுக்குப் புண்ணியம் அல்லவா?

படித்ததில் பிடித்தது ….” நமக்கு நாமே ” !!!

நமக்கு நாமே…..

ஒரு தவளைக் கூட்டத்திடையே ஒரு போட்டி ஏற்பாடாகியிருந்தது. அந்த ஊர்க் கோயில் கோபுரத்தின் உச்சியில் யார் முதலில் ஏறுகிறார்களோ அவர் தான் வெற்றி பெற்றவர். “நான்”, “நீ” என்று நூற்றுக்கணக்கான தவளைகள் “சோடா பாட்டில்” உற்சாகத்துடன் கலந்து கொள்ள வந்தன. சிறிது தூரத்திலேயே உற்சாகம் `புஸ்ஸென`ப் போய் பெரும்பான்மைத் தவளைகள் போட்டியிலிருந்து பின் வாங்கின. “இந்தக் கோபுரத்திலா? அதன் உச்சியிலா?” சலித்துக் கொண்டே விலகி விட்டன.

“எனக்கு அப்பவே தெரியும் ஒன்னால முடியாதுன்னு. என்ன மாதிரிப் பேசாம இருக்க வேண்டியது தானே? பெரிய வீறாப்பு எதுக்கு? வந்தோமா பேசாமப் போட்டிய பாத்தோமான்னு இருக்கறத விட்டுட்டு” விலகி வந்தவைகளைப் பார்வையாளர்கள் கிண்டல் செய்தன.

கோபுர அடி வாரம் வரை வந்தது நான்கைந்து தவளைகளே. அதிலும் முன்னேறி ஒன்றே ஒன்று மட்டும் கோபுரத்தின் உச்சிக்குச் செல்ல ஆரம்பித்தது.

“ஏய் பாத்து, பாத்து…. போட்டியில் ஜெயிக்காட்டிக் கூட பரவாயில்லை கீழே விழுந்தே அவ்வளவு தான், உயிரே போயிடும். இது தேவையான்னு யோசித்து அப்புறமா மேல ஏறு” அந்தத் தவளையையும் மற்ற பல தவளைகள் முயற்சியைக் கைவிடச் செய்யப் பார்த்தன.

அந்த `தனித்தவளை` எதையும் லட்சியம் செய்யாது தனது லட்சியத்தில் உறுதியாக நின்று விடா முயற்சியுடன் கோபுர உச்சிக்குச் சென்று வெற்றிக் கொடி நாட்டி விட்டு வந்து விட்டது.

“எப்படி உன்னால் முடிந்தது?”

“எனக்கு அப்பவே தெரியும். நீ கண்டிப்பாக வெற்றி பெறுவாய் என்று” பழித்த தவளைகள் வெற்றிக்குப் பின் அதைச் சுற்றி இப்போது நெருக்கம் கொண்டாடின.

“உன்னால் எப்படி முடிந்தது என்பதை எல்லோருக்கும் சொன்னாயானால் உனது வெற்றியின் ரகசியம் எது என்பதை விளக்கினால் எதிர்காலத்தில் அது எங்களைப் போன்ற முன்னேறத் துடிப்பவர்களுக்கு உறுதுணையாக இருக்கும்” உண்மையாகவே அக்கறை கொண்ட தவளைகள் அதனிடம் வந்தன.

“வேறு ஒரு ரகசியம் இல்லை. எனது காதுகளைப் பொத்திக் கொண்டேன். செவிடாகி விட்டேன்.” வெற்றித் தவளை சொன்னது.

“அப்படீன்னா”

“செவிடாக நடித்தேன். நீங்கள் சொல்வது எதுவும் காதில் விழாத மாதிரி எனது கொள்கையிலேயே உறுதியாக உச்சி வரை சென்றேன்.” காரணம் விளங்கியது.

ஒரு சிறிய தவளை வாழ்க்கையின் பல பரிமாணங்களை எடுத்துரைக்கிறது. குறிக்கோளை அடைய இடையூறுகள் பல வரலாம். இடையூறுகள் சூழ்நிலை, உற்றார் உறவினர்கள் என்று பல ரூபங்களிலிருந்தும் வரலாம். மற்றவர்கள் ஏளனம் செய்யலாம். அடைய முடியாது என்று குறிக்கோளிலிருந்து தடுக்கலாம். ஆனால் குறிக்கோளிலேயே குறியாக இருக்கும் ஒருவனுக்கு இவையெல்லாம் ஒரு பொருட்டேயல்ல. இந்த ஏளனம், தடை இவையெல்லாம் `செவிடன் காதில் ஊதிய சங்கு’ போல் அவர்களை ஒன்றும் செய்யாது போய் விடும். வெற்றி பெறுவதில் உள்ள குறிக்கோள் அது மட்டுமே அவர்கள் எண்ணத்தில் நிற்கும்.

துரோணாச்சாரியார் எல்லோருக்கும் வைத்த அந்தப் போட்டியில் – மாமரத்தில் உள்ள கிளியின் கண்ணைக் குறி வைத்த அந்தப் போட்டியில் அர்ஜுனனிடம் மட்டும் இருந்த அந்த இலக்கு, அந்த ஒரு தெளிவு அதுவே வெற்றிக்கு வழி வகுக்கும். இதற்கு எதிரிடையாக இருந்தவர்கள் பின்பு வெற்றிக் கனியைப் பறித்தவுடன் சொந்தம் கொண்டாடி வருவதும் கண்கூடு. அவர்கள் நாக்கு தடம் புரண்டு போவதும் யதார்த்தம்.

இராமாயணத்தில் அனுமனது திறமையை அவ்வப்போது நினைவூட்டி ஊக்குவிக்க ஒரு ஜாம்பவான் இருந்தான். இக்கலியுகத்தில் அத்தகைய ஜாம்பவான்கள் கிடைப்பது மிக மிக அரிது. நமக்கு நாமே ஜாம்பவான்களாக இருப்பதே புத்திசாலித்தனம்.

While the architectures of yesteryear are often blamed for urban decay, today’s buildings could be responsible for its renewal.

Jutting from the ground like two giant stalagmites, the latest design from UK architecture firm Chetwoods is going to blow the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, out of the water—and save the world while it’s at it. Standing a full kilometer (3,281 ft) tall, the structure might be the key to solving China’s catastrophic pollution problem on every level. Bestowing upon the project the hopeful moniker, ‘The Phoenix Towers,’ Chetwoods hopes to resurrect the Chinese city of Wutan from its ashes.

By using a complex mechanical system to simultaneously filter Wuhan’s air and water, collect solar, wind, and hydrogen power, provide produce from a massive vertical garden, harvest rainwater, house restaurants and businesses, boil biomass, and generally aim to solve every major ecological crisis faced by central China’s “Fourth Pole,” the Phoenix Towers just might live up to their name. “It doesn’t just stand there and become an iconic symbol of Wuhan, it has to do a job,” founder Laurie Chetwood said in an interview with Dezeen. “We’ve applied as many environmental ideas as we possibly could to justify the shape and the size of them.”

 

 

Aside from their super-sustainable abilities, one of the coolest things about the Phoenix Towers is that Chetwoods designed them to resonate with local religion and philosophy. The towers link Western technology and architecture to the Chinese myths of the phoenix; two towers represent the dual gender the legendary bird has in Chinese iconography, and the spirit of rebirth is spread throughout all eight hectares of the the half-mile high towers. With these spiritual considerations in mind, the firm makes a peace offering to the the somewhat rocky history of Western insensitivity when it comes to development in China. The towers also aim to attract eco-tourism, with profit margins further extending that olive branch.

Jutting from the ground like two giant stalagmites, the latest design from UK architecture firm Chetwoods is going to blow the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, out of the water—and save the world while it’s at it. Standing a full kilometer (3,281 ft) tall, the structure might be the key to solving China’s catastrophic pollution problem on every level. Bestowing upon the project the hopeful moniker, ‘The Phoenix Towers,’ Chetwoods hopes to resurrect the Chinese city of Wutan from its ashes.

By using a complex mechanical system to simultaneously filter Wuhan’s air and water, collect solar, wind, and hydrogen power, provide produce from a massive vertical garden, harvest rainwater, house restaurants and businesses, boil biomass, and generally aim to solve every major ecological crisis faced by central China’s “Fourth Pole,” the Phoenix Towers just might live up to their name. “It doesn’t just stand there and become an iconic symbol of Wuhan, it has to do a job,” founder Laurie Chetwood said in an interview with Dezeen. “We’ve applied as many environmental ideas as we possibly could to justify the shape and the size of them.”

 

 

Aside from their super-sustainable abilities, one of the coolest things about the Phoenix Towers is that Chetwoods designed them to resonate with local religion and philosophy. The towers link Western technology and architecture to the Chinese myths of the phoenix; two towers represent the dual gender the legendary bird has in Chinese iconography, and the spirit of rebirth is spread throughout all eight hectares of the the half-mile high towers. With these spiritual considerations in mind, the firm makes a peace offering to the the somewhat rocky history of Western insensitivity when it comes to development in China. The towers also aim to attract eco-tourism, with profit margins further extending that olive branch.

How Switzerland Scored The Most Dramatic Goal Of The World Cup

In a sudden turn of events in the final seconds of their opening match, Switzerland took advantage of Ecuador’s own missed opportunity and scored the most improbable and dramatic goal of the World Cup so far, giving the Swiss the win with just 20 seconds remaining.

It looked like Switzerland and Ecuador were headed towards the first tie of the World Cup. But in the final minute of stoppage time, Ecuador took advantage of a bad pass by Switzerland and started what looked like a promising counter-attack.

Ecuador’s Antonio Valencia had a full head of steam and with four defenders back, it looked like he had a direct path to the goal and a chance for an open shot as the defenders were waiting for the cross.

As a defender closes in on Valencia he plays a perfect cross to an open teammate.

But instead of taking a one-timer or an immediate shot, the Ecuadorian player hesitated, allowing two Swiss players to converge on the ball and close off any shooting lanes.

A nice sliding tackle by one defender causes Ecuador to turn the ball over without even taking a shot.

Rather than defend the ball, three of the Ecuadorian players are now standing around and showing their disgust at the missed opportunity. This leaves Switzerland with an advantage on the attack.

Sensing the advantage, one player for Ecuador appeared to intentionally try to draw a foul so his team could reset.

Instead, the referee allowed the play to continue which allowed the attack to continue and effectively took another Ecuadorian player out of the play.

Amazingly, Ecuador has left themselves in a position where the Swiss have a 6-on-4 advantage in the final seconds of a tied match. A long cross to the other side sets up the final play.

However, the play almost never happened as a high bounce on the pass nearly sent the ball out of bounds. Instead, Ricardo Rodriguez manages to get a toe of his boot on the ball and keep it in bounds.

Rodriguez manages to control the ball and move towards the box. Meanwhile, Haris Seferovic, who delivered the pass to Rodriguez from the other side, is now sprinting past the defenders in the box.

A perfect pass from Rodriguez around the defender left a wide-open Seferovic with an easy shot into the top of the net.

The referee would blow the whistle 20 seconds later and the match was over and the celebration was on.

Especially for the Swiss Cheeseheads.

Today people tend to go by the letter of the scriptures. The words of the scriptures should be interpreted and understood in the context of the prevailing time and circumstances. Then their real meaning will be clear. Also no one adheres to what one says or preaches. More than listening to spiritual discourses, one must try to practise at least a part of what one learns. Vedanta is being expounded at many places, not to speak of the discourses on the Gita. But how many understand the real spirit of the Gita and act up to its message? It is because of this dichotomy between preaching and practice that spiritual teachings are being treated with little regard. Only when the feelings emanating from the heart, the words coming out of the mouth and the actions one performs are all in perfect harmony will one’s life be based on truth.
