Message For The Day….Renounce Evil Qualities and and Win Peace !!!

You are happiest when you are immersed in yourself! The child in the womb is in the state Soham (‘I am He’ – union with God) but when it is born in the world, it starts the question Koham (‘Who am I’). For it forgot its truth and identifies itself with the body and the senses. Until it becomes a realized person (Jnani), it will never regain the knowledge of Soham. Madhava-tatvam (Divine state) when it assumes a form, is Manava (Man). Manava can become Madhava (Divine) by engaging in actions dedicated to God. You can then discover your Divine State. What is the use of doing only human action (Manava Karma) or even demoniac action and claiming that human being is Divine? Virtue must be your life-breath. Character must be your backbone. Without these no meritorious act will fructify. Retain your evil qualities and win troubles; Renounce them and win peace!

Some Pursue Happiness While Others Create It !!!

“An old man saw a scorpion drowning and decided to pull it out from the water. He calmly extended his hand to reach the creature. When he did, the scorpion stung him. With the effect of the pain, the old man let go the creature and it fell back into the water. The man realizing that the scorpion was drowning again, got back and tried to rescue it but then again it stung him. He let go of it again….

A young boy standing by, approached the old man and said, “Excuse me Sir, you are going to hurt yourself trying to save the evil-vicious creature, why do you insist? Don’t you realize that each time you try to help the scorpion, it stings you?”

The man replied, “The nature of the scorpion is to sting and mine is to help. My nature will not change in helping the scorpion.”

So the man thought for a while and used a leaf from a nearby tree and pulled the scorpion out from the water and saved it’s life.

MORAL LESSON:
Do not change your nature. If someone hurts you, just take precautions. Some pursue happiness while others create it. Let your conscience be your guide in whatever you do.”

Message For The Day….Mind is Worse Than a Drunken Monkey…

All the effort and investment you expend in pursuing the scriptures and noble thoughts are a sheer waste, if study and reflection do not help you to recognize that the mind is worse than a drunken monkey. Pilgrimages are for elevating the heart, sublimating the impulses and leading the lower self to higher levels of thought and action. Reason serves the same purpose, or at least, it ought to. Reason seeks to know the unity of the universe, the origin and the goal of all of it. Through reason, you should understand the laws that govern the microcosm (anu) and the macrocosm (Bruhath). It peeps behind the ever receding curtain to get a glimpse of the Puppeteer (Suthradhari) who pulls the strings.

Message For the Day….Control and train Your Mind For Your Journey On the Right Path !!!

Life is a pilgrimage to God and the path lies before you. But, unless you take the first step forward and follow it with succeeding steps, how can you reach it? Start with courage, faith, joy and steadiness, you will certainly succeed. The mind and the intellect are like two bullocks tied to a cart. The bullocks are not used to the road of Truth, Righteousness, Peace and Love, and so they drag the cart along the road familiar to them, namely, falsehood, injustice, worry and hatred. You have to train the bullocks to tread the right path, so that they may not bring disaster to themselves and to others. Every object or being in the world will give both pleasure and pain. Control and train your mind to see this real nature of the objective world. That is the real fruit of education.

Message For The Day….Like Butter Is Present in Milk,Divinity is Present in Everybody !!!

When some of you visit a temple or a holy shrine, even as you participate in the worship, your thoughts are about the safety of your footwear that you left outside. You will not get joy or liberation by merely going to a holy place. You will not get the joy even through darshan, sparshan and sambhashan – seeing Him, touching Him and conversing with Him. You must follow the prescription and act in accordance with the Divine Directions. Earnestly and enthusiastically, take the path shown by the great devotees of the Lord. You must feel inseparable affinity with the Lord, just as the wave is inseparable from the sea. Butter is imminent in milk and is invisible. So too, Divinity is present in every being and will manifest from within.

Message For The Day….Do Not Blame God For Your Ignorance & Foolishness …

The Lord is the Indweller in all beings and is All Pervading. He is the soul in every being. He is in you as much as He in everyone else. He is not present more in a rich person or bigger in a fat person. His spark illumines the cave of the heart, of every one. The Sun shines equally on all; His Grace is falling equally on all. You construct obstacles that prevent the rays of His Grace from touching and warming your heart. Do not blame the Lord for your ignorance or foolishness or perversity. Just as underground water wells up in a gushy spring when a bore is sunk down to that depth, by constant repetition of the Lord’s Name, touch the spring of Divinity, and one day, it will gush out in plenty giving you never ending joy.

Message For The Day….Earn Your Status In the Realm of GOD !!!

Conceit or egoism is a fatal weakness. It is the desire to be praised, to be talked about. People take delight in tom-tomming their achievements and capabilities. This actually makes them ludicrous and pitiable. They want their names and deeds to appear in the daily newspapers in big bold letters. Please understand, it is not in the newspapers that you should get attention. Earn your status in the realm of God. Earn fame in the company of the good and godly. If you are forever in the primary class working on A, B, C and other alphabets, how can you understand what the scholars say? Make progress in being humble and in showing reverence towards elders and parents.

Message For The Day….Concentrate on Your Mind Too !!!

Each and every one of you has a great deal of concentration. For, every task requires concentration and every one of you have benefitted from it. The carpenter, the weaver, the clerk, the boatman, the scientist, all have it, greater or lesser, and use it in their daily lives. You must learn to apply it towards your own mind also. Direct the mind towards its own working, examine it and train it to restrict itself to good company, good thoughts and good deeds. Practise meditation on any Form of the Lord, and repeat any Name of the Lord, with the awareness of its sweetness. That will teach the mind to be sharp, and produce good music out of the joys as well as the grief that are incidental to life.

Message From Mahaperiavar on 15 AUG 1947….

MESSAGE GIVEN BY HIS HOLINESS PUJYASHRI CHANDRASEKHARENDRA SARASWATHI MAHASWAMIJI on 15 AUGUST 1947 – Independence Day

On this happy occasion when our country Bharat has attained Independence, the people of this ancient country must pray whole heartedly and with one mind to Sri Bhagavan. Let us all pray to God to vouch safe to us strength of mind and energy to engage ourselves more and more in attaining spiritual knowledge. It is only by the grace of Almighty that we can safeguard the freedom that we have achieved and also help all the living beings on earth to lead a happy life.

It is worthy to note that luckily the Chakra of Bhagavan, who is the embodiment of Dharma, has its place in the centre of our National Flag. This Chakra reminds us of the moral values enjoined by Emperor Ashoka, who is historically famous as Devanampriyaha. Further, the Chakra makes us contemplate on the spiritual discipline imparted by Bhagavan Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita. That Dharma which shines in the form of a Chakra is clear from Lord Krishna’s reference to the Chakra as “Evam pravartitam chakram” in Verse 16 of the III chapter of the Bhagavad Gita. Also in Verses 14 and 15 of the same chapter Bhagavan avers that ” The human body originates from food, food grains grow because of rains, rain showers because of performance of Yajnas(Vedic Sacrifices), these Yajnas are prescribed in the Veda and that the Veda has emanated from Brahman who is in the form of Akshara(Sound recorded as letter of the alphabet)”. Thus, the Dharma Chakra explains to us that the supreme Brahman is manifest in Vedic sacrifices. May this Independence, dawning with the rightful remembrance of Emperor Ashoka, grant us such fruits as Aram(Dharma or Righteousness) Porul(Wealth), Inbam(Happiness) and Veedu(Moksha – deliverance), by the grace of God.

There are three stripes in our National Flag. They are of dark green, white and orange colours. These colours seem to indicate to us, that military strength for protection from enemies and evil, wealth for welfare and prosperity, and knowledge for the sake of proper administration are essential for the nation. It may be remembered that dark green is the colour of Durga – the Parasakti who is the mother protector, Mahalakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity is of orange colour(golden hue) and Saraswathi the source divine of all knowledge is white in colour. It is a happy coincidence that the colour of the three Shakthis(Goddesses of Power) are seen in the three stripes of the National Flag.

For long, the Indian Nation has strived hard for winning freedom. By the grace of God, by the blessings of great men, and by the unique sacrifice of the people, independence has been won. Let us all pray to the Omnipresent God to shower his grace so that with the hard won freedom, our country becomes prosperous, is rid of famine, and there are no social skirmishes and the entire nation lives in an atmosphere of amity and kindness.

Now that freedom has been attained by the nation, all of us must also try to develop Independence. If we understand ourselves fully we may consider ourselves as independent. We are not capable of controlling the senses. We are unable to suppress desire and control anger, which always troubles us. Whichever thing in whatever measure we obtain does not lead us to contentment. Worldly sufferings cause worry to us. The mind gets confused on noticing these sufferings. What is the way out of all these? we must try to control, albeit gradually the mind which has been functioning vigorously for such a long time. Once the mind is set at rest, we will not be in need of anything. That state of mind which ensures complete freedom is what we must attempt to achieve.

Every day atleast some time should be set apart for practising the control of mind and bereft of other thoughts, we must meditate upon God. Then gradually, the mind will become calm, whereupon we will have the mental power to subjugate desire and anger. Spiritual knowledge will accrue fast for him who practises such meditation. Only these who attain such true spiritual knowledge can truly be independent citizens.

Any woman other than one’s wife must be respected as one’s own mother. We must regard other living beings as we would regard ourselves. Even at the risk of death, truth alone must be spoken. Petty social feuds must be averted totally, Every one must strive for improving his knowledge and his spiritual attainments and move with others in an atmosphere of kindness. We must sincerely wish that all people should live happily and peacefully.

Cargo Loader Yesterday…. CEO Today !!! Meet Sudheer Nair !!!

Sudheer Nair, CEO, Eresource Infotech Pvt Ltd

Sudheer Nair dropped out of high school at age 16 and is currently operating Eresource Infotech whose annual turnover is Rs 8.1 crore. Read on to know his inspiring journey to success…

Necessity is the mother of invention, adversity must be the father of entrepreneurship.

For Sudheer Nair, founder and CEO of Eresource Infotech, adversity brought out the best in him.

That coupled with sheer grit and conviction has helped him lead a Rs 8.1 crore ERP firm today.

Sudheer’s is a classic tale of rags-to-riches.

He comes from a lower middle class family, and does not have any ivy-league credentials attached to his name.

He had to discontinue his education at the age of 16, due to the sudden demise of his father and the ensuing financial difficulties.

The situation forced him to search for jobs to support his family.

Initially he ended up doing odd jobs, which included that of a helper’s job at Sahar Cargo Complex, Mumbai. But the enthusiasm he had towards life and the wish to progress, has made him what he is today.

On a few occasions, documentations were required at the Cargo Complex and that was Nair’s introduction to the typewriter, eventually transforming him into an expert typist.

Next, he took up the job of typing programmes for a programmer and looking at his ability to learn fast, Nair was given an opportunity to learn computers.

Gradually, he started generating software codes independently for the company.

Nair loved what he was doing and that helped him learn the subject at a deeper level.

Someone has said that when god is shy to announce HIS presence, HE appears in the form of an opportunity. That opportunity was given to me, when somebody asked me to type Bill of Lading at Sahar Cargo complex. You need to start from somewhere. Dr Abdul Kalam started his career as a newspaper boy. Once you have the determination and will power you always move forward. I took the loading job because my family’s financial situation demanded that. It was a short stint. I knew I had to move out. Life must be like a flowing river. I believe in that and am still living with that spirit,” says Nair of the beliefs and situations that have shaped his life.

The entrepreneur never enrolled for any formal course in computers, but says he was extremely lucky and blessed to have met incredibly talented people in his life and had the privilege to hang out with them.

“I did not know any technical people and had zero guidance when I started my career. I would ruthlessly read through technical books. I spent hundreds of hours reading and practicing programmes,” says Nair while recollecting his days of struggle.

His entry into the field of ERP was also by chance.

While working with Afternoon, a daily in Mumbai, he had developed a smaller version of ERP for the daily.

That gave him the confidence to start on his own and ERP was his obvious choice to start up with.

But before he did that, Nair worked for 15 years in Dubai as a software professional.

He started as a software developer and was the Senior Enterprise Manager, when he quit.

“It was a 400-million-dollar company and I was working on enterprise solution. You learn a lot in the process,” he says.

When he started Eresource Infotech in 2006, the ERP market was worth $14 billion and Sudheer saw enough opportunity in the space.

“The urge to do things on my own was getting on my head and that feeling forced me to quit my job in Dubai and start-up,” he says.

Sudheer started by bootstrapping and with the support of Vivek Jingade, who now heads the sales and marketing for Eresource Infotech, began his entrepreneurial journey.

“Vivek has been with Eresource since inception and without him we could not have achieved what we are today,” Nair says in praise of Jingade.

Sudheer Nair started with a small team and today Eresource has over 100 employees, across a variety of functions.

He says he never had any problem in finding talent, even as a start-up.

“I don’t think there is any shortage of talent in Mumbai. What is important is the selection process — getting the best from the lot,” he says.

Today the company has over 300 clients and about 25,000 users on Eresource ERP.

A majority of their clients are from India, particularly Mumbai and Northern states; they also have many clients in the Middle East and few other Asian countries.

The biggest player in the ERP space is SAP followed by Oracle, so Sudheer decided they would try and play the cloud card.

“We have everything that our competitors can offer, and while some of their solutions may still reside on a local server, Eresource is 100 per cent web based ERP solution. Our competitors don’t really care about localisation, but we make sure our solutions can cater to requirements needed as per Indian statutory and regulatory needs,” explains Sudheer.

Eresource is now launching ‘eresource ExV2’ (eresource Express Version 2) — a new release of Eresource.

“Eresource ExV2 will have compatibility with hand held device, mobile and would be technology independent,” he shares.

Eresource currently works with about 80 to 90 channel partners where 8 are affiliate partners, while the rest are referral partners.

Their customers love them because they undertake the entire implementation and post deployment activities and responsibilities.

“We engage with our customers at great lengths to understand their requirement and then accordingly package the solution and deploy it. This has resulted in zero failure rates,” Nair proudly claims.

The company is looking at appointing partners in each geographic region and has plans to appoint about 30 channel partners, which will help them scale up.

Looking back at his journey, Nair admits it’s hardly been a bed of roses: “I cannot pin-point the difficulties I have faced to set up this company. There are numerous.”

Though financial problems are on top of list, he considers his biggest capital to be the talent at Eresource.

Over the years, Eresource has won many prestigious industrial awards, including the Udyog Rattan Award and Business Excellence Award for the year 2008.

They were also conferred the Business Leadership Award by Institute of Industrial Development, New Delhi. And the venture has been recently rated by NSIC-CRISIL and awarded SE 3B.

As for the formal education that he couldn’t complete, the entrepreneur says he reads a lot.

“I am getting myself educated through my experience. And that is the best education you can ever get,” he sums up.
