What Happens In ONE Minute on The Internet !!!!

In just a single minute on the web 216,000 photos are shared on Instagram, a total of £54,000 ($83,000) sales take place on Amazon, there are 1.8 million likes on Facebook and three days worth of video is uploaded to YouTube.

Cashback site Qmee has created an infographic that shows this information as well as how many tweets are sent, photos are viewed, Skype calls are made, domains are registered and more in 60 seconds.

The graphic pulls information and figures from PC Mag, Business Insider and other sites to create a the snapshot.

Qmee Online in 60 Seconds Infographic

Google performs 2 million searches each minute and 72 hours worth of video is uploaded to YouTube within the space of 60 seconds.

The infographic also claims that 70 new domains are registered and 571 new website are created within a minute online, at the same time there are 1.8 million likes on Facebook, 204 million emails sent and 278,000 tweets posted.

Go-Globe.com designed a similar graphic in June last year. By comparison, the amount of emails sent has increased by 36million a minute.

There are almost four times more Google searches than a year ago, and 180,000 more tweets are sent.

YouTube video uploads have increased from 25 hours up to three days.

Relatives and friends now spend the equivalent of 1.4 million minutes chatting over Skype, compared to 370,000 minutes last year.

Facebook figures appear to have dropped, however. This year there are on average 41,000 status updates every second – 246,000 a minute – whereas according to Go-Globe’s figures, this time last year the figure was in excess of 695,000.

Exactly the same amount of domain names were created per minute in 2012 and 2013 according to the graphics.

Cashback site Qmee has created an infographic that shows how many tweets are sent, Facebook posts are liked, Skype calls are made and YouTube videos are viewed in a single minute across the internet.

It used information and figures from PC Mag, Business Insider and other sites to create a 60-second snapshot.

The two graphics did not use exactly the same data sources meaning that the relationship is not directly comparable but it does give an indication about which sites and services are soaring and which are staying the same, or losing favour.

The increase in posts across social networks has also seen an increase of what’s been dubbed ‘Twinglish’.

Social media monitoring company Brandwatch found that one in every 150 English words used on Twitter is spelt incorrectly.

On Facebook, one in 323 words are spelt incorrectly, on Google+ it’s one in 238 and one in 556 words is incorrect on online forums.

Women also favour the use of elongated words  such as ‘sooooo’ and ‘loool’ on social networks.

“Tweet “…in Oxford English Dictionary Now !!!

‘Tweet’ – to post a message to Twitter – has been included in the hallowed pages of the Oxford English Dictionary.

Although the word ‘tweet’ is already in the OED in relation to bird song, it now has an additional official definition in the June 2013 edition.

Look the other way: Twitter is so popular editors of the OED broke their ten-year rule to include it in the June 2013 edition

‘Tweet’, as relating to micro-blogging site Twitter, is now an official word, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, although oddly ‘retweet’ (sharing another’s tweet) was included in 2011

Twitter is an online phenomenon, with 340 million tweets posted every day. Even the Pope, known as the voice of God, and the Dalai Lama have Twitter feeds.

Because Twitter has become such an important part of daily life in such a short space of time, the dictionary’s editors were willing to bend their own rules to include ‘tweet’ in the OED, the accepted authority on the evolution of the English language.

John Simpson, chief editor, said: ‘The noun and verb tweet (in the social-networking sense) has just been added to the OED.

‘This breaks at least one OED rule, namely that a new word needs to be current for ten years before consideration for inclusion.’

He added: ‘But it seems to be catching on.

TWITTER – A PHENOMENON IN 140 WORDS OR LESS

'Tweet', as relating to micro-blogging site Twitter, is now an official word, according to the Oxford English Dictionary

Twitter is an online social networking service and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based messages of up to 140 characters, known as ‘tweets’.

Twitter was launched in July 2006 by entrepreneur Jack Dorsey and rapidly gained worldwide popularity, with over 500 million registered users as of 2012.

Roughly 340 million tweets are posted daily and Twitter handles more than 1.6 billion search queries per day.

Since its launch, Twitter has become one of the ten most visited websites on the Internet.

It is based in San Francisco.

In December Pope Benedict XVI, using the papal account ‘Pontifex’, sent his first tweet. It read: ‘Dear friends, I am pleased to get in touch with you through Twitter. Thank you for your generous response. I bless all of you from my heart.’

“Men May Come and Men May Go”..But Credit Card Billing Goes on Forever!!!

Cancel your credit card before you die……… (hilarious! ).. Because ,you can not rule out the possibility of such response from today”s  Customer service call centers of  Banks !!!!!

Be sure and cancel your credit cards before you die.

This is so priceless, and so, so easy to see happening, customer service being what it is today.

A lady died this past January, and  the Bank billed her for February and March for their annual service charges on her credit card, and added late fees and interest on the monthly charge. The balance had been Rs.0.00 when she died, but now somewhere around Rs.6000.00. A family member placed a call to  Bank.

Here is the exchange :

Family Member: ‘I am calling to tell you she died back in January.’

Bank: ‘The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still apply.’

Family Member: ‘Maybe, you should turn it over to collections. ‘

Bank: ‘Since it is two months past due, it already has been.’

Family Member: So, what will they do when they find out she is dead?’

Bank: ‘Either report her account to frauds division or report her to the credit bureau, maybe both!’

Family Member: ‘Do you think God will be mad at her?

Bank:   Excuse Me …

Family Member: ‘Did you just get what I was telling you – the part about her being dead?’

Bank: ‘Sir, you’ll have to speak to my supervisor.’

Supervisor gets on the phone:

Family Member: ‘I’m calling to tell you, she died back in January with a Rs.0 balance.’

Bank: ‘The account was never closed and late fees and charges still apply.’

Family Member: ‘You mean you want to collect from her estate?’

Bank: (Stammer) ‘Are you her lawyer?’

Family Member: ‘No, I’m her great nephew.’ (Lawyer info was given)

Bank: ‘Could you fax us a certificate of death?’

Family Member: ‘Sure.’ (Fax number was given )

After they got the fax :

Bank: ‘Our system just isn’t setup for death. I don’t know what more I can do to help.’

Family Member: ‘Well, if you figure it out, great! If not, you could just keep billing her. She won’t care.’  Bank: ‘Well, the late fees and charges will still apply.’

(What is wrong with these people?!?)

Family Member: ‘Would you like her new billing address?’

Bank: ‘That might help…’

Family Member: Odessa Memorial Cemetery , Avinashi, Coimbatore

Bank: ‘Sir, that’s a cemetery!’
Family Member: ‘And what do you do with dead people on your planet???’

Where Are You Mom ???

A Thought provoking article ….Must Read >>>>

Natarajan

“When I’m sick, you are tending to your patients.

When I’m tired, you are promoting an energy drink.

When I’m hungry, you are catering in a 5 star hotel.

When I need you for my tough algebra, you are teaching your students.

When I long for a sand castle on the beach, you are discussing a multistorey.

When I’m down and depressed, you are counselling your clientele.

When I have peer problems, you are tackling issues elsewhere.

When my computer fogs my brain, you are setting right a system.

When I’m hurt and need a hug, you are in a meeting.

When I’m confused and need you, you are enlightening a crowd.

When I’m lonely, and badly need you, you win accolades for your team work.

When I’m doubtful and discouraged if I’ll make it, you are up your career ladder.

Where are you mom?”

Who, What, Why: What is ‘ungoogleable’?!!!

Google sweets

The word “ungoogleable” has been removed from a list of new Swedish words after a trademark spat. But it raises the question of what can and can’t be found with a search engine.

Today Google appears to be the font of all data.

The idea that something can’t be found online is strange enough to have spawned its own adjective.

The word “ungoogleable” is in the headlines after a dispute between the search engine giant and Sweden’s language watchdog.

The Language Council of Sweden wanted to include “ungoogleable” – or “ogooglebar” – in its annual list of new Swedish words. But it defined the term as something that cannot be found with any search engine.

Google wanted the Swedish translation to be changed to refer only to Google searches, and the Council opted to remove the word altogether to avoid a lengthy legal battle.

The spat raises the question of just what “ungoogleable” means. Or more specifically, are some things still impossible to find with a search engine? And if so, is it a deliberate strategy?

To be ungoogleable might be a blessing  or curse !!!!
