Meet Shrinidhi Prakash…. Britain”s First Child Genius !!! @ the Age 11 !!!

When most 11-year-old girls day-dream about their idols, they fantasise about Harry Styles from One Direction and write his name in love hearts all over their school exercise books.

Not Shrinidhi Prakash. She is counting down the days until she meets her very own hero, the BBC’s business editor Robert Peston. She is a big fan of his work.

She hopes he will be impressed by the essay she has penned for him on economic growth, entitled Notes On Austerity. Quite clearly, Shrinidhi is no ordinary girl. This week, she beat more than 2,000 children to be crowned Britain’s first Child Genius – a sort of Mastermind-meets-Countdown, for the under 11s

Thirst for knowledge: Shrinidhi and her mother Suja

  • Shrinidhi Prakash has been crowned Britain’s first Child Genius
  • She can recall the order of an entire pack of 52 playing cards
  • Also speaks Latin and is a world champ at Scrabble
  • Her parents say she has natural talent and they do not push her

Over the four-part series, 21 finalists aged eight to 11 were tested in quick-fire rounds such as Debating, Logic, Mental Arithmetic, Spelling and General Knowledge.

Not only were the questions so hard that many were beyond plenty of adults. But the stress for the children answering them was also mercilessly recorded by cameras, which seemed to take perverse pleasure in recording their faces crumple as, one by one, they crashed out of the competition.

‘She can’t tie her shoelaces but she can remember the exact order of a whole pack of playing cards’

Even cycling gold medallist Chris Hoy, a man used to the extreme edge of competition, tweeted that these intelligence tests made ‘the Olympics seem pretty stress-free’.

Other commentators questioned the programme’s seeming failure to acknowledge that other competitors in the group might possibly be on the autistic spectrum in case it jeopardised the fun they were having at the children’s expense.

Yet despite the intense pressure, Shrinidhi thrived. Not only did she manage to recall the order of an entire pack of 52 playing cards, but in the final programme she triumphed with a winning debate speech on whether money brings happiness, correctly identified Lake Baikal in Siberia as the largest freshwater pool in the world and correctly spelled the world ‘metallurgy’.

Shrinidhi’s achievement is all the more impressive when you consider that her first language is not even English, but Tamil, which she still speaks with her family at home, and she came to live in the UK from India only three years ago.

But the supreme irony is that of all the children in the competition, Shrinidhi appeared to be the least pushed by her parents, Suja and Raman. Indeed, the mild-mannered Indian couple looked like pussy cats compared to other tiger mothers in the show.

Shrinidhi, however, seemed to trundle through the competition in her own sweet way. Of all the children who appeared in the series, Shrinidhi, the current Under-12 World Scrabble Champion, seemed the most naturally gifted and the most rightful winner.

Shrinidhi also showed early promise. By the age of three, she was already a mini media celebrity in India after she was filmed being able to remember the flags of more than 200 different countries. She had learned them by watching the flag-waving spectators at cricket matches with her father.

By five her parents noticed her talent for memory. It morphed into a precocious gift and she began using long words in English. When they introduced her to Scrabble soon after, she began trouncing players several times her age.

So when her father Raman was offered a job in IT in UK, they moved here not only to further his career but also their daughter’s – especially as she already spoke English better than 99.9 per cent of the people who live here already.

So how does Shrinidhi see her life panning out before her, now that she is officially Britain’s cleverest child?

‘I don’t see it as anything different. Because it’s part of my brain, I don’t see anything extraordinary. For me this is normal. One day I would like to study economics or etymology at university. But I would also like to have two Ferraris.’

So after being proclaimed a child genius, what is next on the agenda? Maths A-level? An early Oxbridge application? Thankfully no, says Suja: ‘It’s her Grade One Piano exam.’

Swimming Baby !!! Stunning Confidence Level !!!

This incredible video,  posted by the proud parents of baby Elizabeth, demonstrates the ability of young children to swim short distances unaided.
The toddler, who has been trained by certified infant swim instructors, shows no hesitation as she paddles across the entire length of her parents’ pool.
Elizabeth always swims under the watchful eyes of her parents, who are both trained emergency workers, and they document her progress in YouTube videos.
This footage of Elizabeth aged 16-months was taken almost a year ago but has recently gone viral, generating fierce debate about teaching young children to swim.
Her parents insist the toddler was never in danger as her father, a nurse trained in CPR, and her mother, a lifeguard and swimming instructor, supervised her at all times.

At no point do we force our child to do anything she is unwilling to try”, one of them wrote in response to critical posts on YouTube, “I was 100% prepared to jump in at first sign of distress”.

Message For The Day….Wisdom is not Something You Acquire From Elsewhere …It is Your Own From your Heart !!!

There is no need to fight against the fundamental delusion of body attachment with overwhelming force and argument. Delusion will disappear, if you just sit quietly for one minute and analyse for yourself your own experience with this transient world.Jnana (Wisdom) is not Apraaptha-praapthi, something that is acquired from somewhere, like the gift of money from a donor to a person who did not have it. Wisdom is Praaptha-Praapthi! It is like forgetting about the ten-rupee note that you kept in a book you were reading. You then lent that book to someone and later asked him for a ten-rupee loan. He just gave it to you from the book, which is your own money. Similarly the Guru brings out t he treasure of wisdom, from your very own hridaya pustaka – book of your heart!

Message For The Day….Thro ‘ Your Own Inner Divine Strength , You Can Achieve Anything !!!

What the world needs is more hard work, done in a spirit of sacrifice, of relinquishing one’s personal comforts to make others happy. Every being has truth, sweetness and Divinity embedded within them. Only they do not take the time to learn how to manifest that latent Divinity, how to realize the Truth and how to taste that innate sweetness. Hence people carry the twin burdens of joy and grief tied to the ends of a single pole slung across their shoulders. Courage is the tonic for getting health and strength, both physical and mental. Give up doubt, hesitation and fear. Never give any chance for these to strike root in your mind. Take the Name of your Favourite Lord and savour it on your tongue – it will help you give up fear and doubt. Through your own inner divine strength, you can achieve anything. You can become God, for sure! Keep the Name of the Lord always on your tongue and in your mind; it will help you give up fear and doubt.

Message For The Day…Keep your Heart Clean and Pure so that God Choose it as HIS Abode..

This day, you may feel you have no need of the Lord, but remember, when the pangs of hunger gnaw, you start pining for food. Therefore, wash your hearts with tears of joy so that the Lord might install Himself therein. A zamindar may own all of the fields up to the very horizon on all sides, but he will choose to sit only on a patch that is clean! In the same way, when the Lord chooses the heart of a devotee, it does not mean that all other hearts are not His. They are only not clean enough. He is everywhere, everything is His, His gaze is on all. If God was not all this, how could they shine, or exist even as much as they do now? Therefore, have full faith in God and in yourselves, engage always in good deeds and beneficial activities; speak the truth, do not inflict pain by word or deed or even thought. That is the way to gain peace; that is the highest merit which you can earn in this life.

Message For The Day….Keep your Heart Clean For GOD “s Stay over There….

Restlessness (ashanti) is on the rise because of attachment, hate and infatuation. These are born out of ignorance, which causes delusion. Things seen in darkness cannot be clear – a rope is mistaken to be a snake, a piece of glass may be coveted as a diamond. So this indistinct light, that is, this mistaken notion, must go. This can happen only when the methods of discovering the truth are learnt. That is what the Scriptures and the learned ones teach. They guide you to direct your outward seeking senses inward. The inner realm of impulses, instincts, habits, prejudices and attitudes must be cleansed before God can be reflected clear and bright therein.

Good Gesture From CEO Delta Airlines !!!!

AN AIRLINE boss has given his seat to a tired, stressed mum who needed to get home to her daughter.

Delta Airlines CEO Richard Anderson was booked on a flight from Washington D.C. to Atlanta on a day where the airline faced numerous delays and cancellations.

Jessie Frank was also trying to get to Atlanta, and had been waiting all day to get on a flight. Ms Frank was desperate to get home to pick up her diabetic daughter from summer camp.

At 9.30pm, she was eighth on the list of standby passengers waiting to fly to Atlanta before the D.C. curfew hit at 10pm.

Seven names went by. The system showed zero seats left.

Ms Frank was about to give up when the flight attendant from Delta airlines rushed her down the jetway and shook her head.

But then something wonderful happened.

The flight attendant paused, talked to someone and then waved her down to the plane.

“A vaguely familiar face met me at the doorway, not in uniform so probably an off-duty pilot I had seen before. He quickly grabbed my roll-aboard, helped clear a space in the overhead, and showed me to my seat.”

As the flight descended into Atlanta the flight attendant announced that the plane had a special guest on board flying in the jump seat – the spare seat behind the pilots in the cockpit. He was riding in that seat because he had given up his place to allow one more person on the flight.

That man was Richard Anderson, CEO of Delta Airlines.

Overwhelmed with emotion Ms Frank took to Facebook to pen an open letter to Mr Anderson.

In it she writes: “You, Richard Anderson, the CEO of Delta, did all that for me, just an average, middle-aged, woman with, as far as anyone at Delta knew, no special reason to get home. But more importantly, it was all of your employees that day that did so much helping me to get home – and now I know why. Because Delta is led by you, Richard Anderson, a dedicated and inspiring leader who so clearly demonstrates, at his very core, that he leads by example, and does not set himself above all those who allow this airline to exist.

“Thank you, Richard Anderson. As a result of your leadership and the actions of yourself and your employees, I had my special day with my special child. You and your employees gave us both one more day of happiness, and for that, we are both very grateful. I have always been a loyal Delta customer, but Thursday solidified that loyalty for life! To all Delta employees who helped me on Thursday: thank you again.”

Delta Airlines have confirmed the incident occurred but have so far declined to comment.

Ms Frank’s letter has since been shared 1697 times. Proof that good customer service may be the best PR of all.
