Message For the Day…” Have a Mealof Good Acts of Services, Divine Thoughts…”

Just as every day you engage in exercise and consume tonics, calculating the intake of calories and vitamins, and paying meticulous attention to the nutritional value of the food, pay attention also to the intake of impressions into the mind – whether they debilitate or strengthen, whether they add to the power of resistance of the mind against the viruses of greed, envy, hatred, pride, malice, etc. Have a meal of good acts of service, divine thoughts, and drink the premarasa (juice of Love), so that they may be washed down, and digested well. Then you can be shining in mental health, happiness and wholesomeness.

Message For the Day…” Surrender to GOD… HE will Free You from sin and sorrow…”

Just as you prescribe minimum qualifications for any profession, the minimum qualification for grace is surrender of egoism, control over senses, and regulated food and recreation (ahaara and vihaara). You are made or marred by the company you keep. A bad person who falls into good company is able to shed his evil quickly and shine forth in virtue. A good person falling into evil company is overcome by the subtle influence and quickly slides down into evil. Reading that Krishna advises in the Gita the giving up of all individual responsibilities (Dharmas), an enthusiastic devotee gave up all obligations and limits; but he had to be told that one obligation still remained if the grace of God had to be secured: maam ekam sharanam vraja – “Surrender to Me only”. When that surrender is complete and all acts, words and thoughts are dedicated to Him, along with all their consequences, then the Lord has promised that He will free you from sin and sorrow

Message For The Day…” Truth and Righteousness Bring Peace …”

Those who struggle to uphold Truth are the real devotees. The essence of all scriptures (Vedas) lies in establishing this truth. Unfortunately, today people who recognize such an eternal truth are not to be found anywhere. You must never forsake Truth. When truth (Sathya) and righteousness (dharma) come together, there will be peace (Shanthi) and Love (Prema). In fact, Truth (Sathya) is the basis for all other human values, namely, Righteousness, Peace, Love, and Non-Violence (Dharma, Shanthi, Prema, and Ahimsa). Love (Prema) does not descend from outside. It emerges only from within, from the hearts of people. No human being can live without love. True and real life is one that is suffused with love. All virtues merge IN LOVE. Where there is love, there will be unity that permeates all barriers. Where there is love, people regardless of caste, culture, and country will unite naturally.

Message For the Day…” Let the Actions Performed by People be Sacred…”

People experience pleasure and pain, sorrow and difficulties in this world. When they experience pleasure, they say it is due to their deservedness (prapti). When they undergo difficulties, they attribute it to their destiny. Really speaking, both pleasure and pain are the result of one’s own actions (karma). As are the feelings that drive action, so is the result (Yad bhavam tad bhavati). Every human being in this world has to perform some kind of karma. Hence let the actions (karma) performed by people be sacred. The celebration of Dasara is meant to purify the actions performed by the five senses of action and the five senses of perception (dasendriyas). Devi, who is the personification of energy, is the driving force behind all actions. Hence everyone must worship the Trinity of Durga (goddess of energy), Lakshmi (goddess of all kinds of wealth), and Saraswathi (goddess of education and intellect) during this festival of Dasara.

Message For the Day…” Giveup Selfishness and Strive for Self Realisation…”

Every being is suffused with love. It is only for our convenience, for our pleasure, and our own selfish purposes that we develop certain worldly relationships. Give up selfishness and strive for self-realisation. You must enquire into yourself, “Who am I? Body, mind, intellect, chittha(memories) or ahamkara (ego)?” You are none of these. You are yourself – “I am I.” Recognise this truth. One must render selfless service. The fruit of all actions must then be sacrificed. Only a person, who denounces the fruits of all actions, deserves to be called a Yogi (renunciant). A Yogi is not one who merely sits under a tree, closes one’s eyes and meditates. Real sacrifice involves giving up your desires. Do not be narrow-minded. If you are inflicted with narrow-mindedness your whole life will become narrow. Develop broad-mindedness and cultivate selfless love.

Message For the Day…” Never Befriend a Bad Personality …”

The goal of celebrating the Dasara festival is to control the ten senses. Legend says that Goddess Chamundi killed the demon Mahisha during this occasion. The inner meaning of this story is that, under no circumstances, associate yourselves with demonic qualities. Always be in good company. If you join bad company, you will also become evil. Hence, never befriend a bad person. The moment you come across such people, just say ‘goodbye’ and move on. You need not develop hatred towards them. Whomever you come across, consider them as embodiments of Divinity and salute them. Even when you come across people who hate you, offer your salutations (pranams) to them and ask them, “How are you brother?” Then they too will respond in the same manner. A human being is one who is endowed with human values and also exhibits them. Always speak truth and observe righteousness (Dharma). Be peaceful. Be happy and blissful.

Message For the Day…” Only Truth Is Eternal and is Beyond Past , Present and Future…”

You are wasting your precious time thinking that all that you see in this objective world is true. No! None of these objects is real. Truth is eternal and is beyond the three periods of time – past, present and future. That Truth is Divinity. God is only one, now and forever. How foolish it is to think that the worldly vision which is subject to change from time to time is real. You are a student today. Tomorrow you will become an officer in an Organization and few years later you will be a retired officer. Then, which is true? Is it the life as a student or as an officer or as a retired official? Thus, all that you see in this objective world and all the relationships between individuals are only temporary, never real and permanent. Divinity is not like that. Recognise the Truth that the Divine is omnipresent – yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Message for the Day…” Consider Yourself as The Master of the Senses…Your Action will be Positive …”

Do not see, speak or hear what is evil. You must only see what is good, hear and speak what is sacred. These may seem simple maxims but are full of profound significance. Constantly discriminate between negative and positive actions. All bad and unwholesome actions are negative in character, eschew them altogether. Your mind must be filled with good thoughts, your hearts should be filled with compassion, and your hands must be engaged in selfless service. You will be caught up in negative behavior, as long as you identify yourself with the body. The moment you consider yourself as the master of the senses, your actions will be positive. Mastery of the senses leads to liberation. Liberation is not something to be achieved after life. Striving for liberation must start early in life and proceed continuously, until you are free from the bondage to the senses. Carry on all duties without attachment to the fruits thereof.
