நட்ச்சத்திரம் இருக்கிறது என்பது எல்லோருக்கும் தெரியும், ஆனால் பகலிலே பார்க்கிற ஓருவருக்கு நட்ச்சத்திரம் தெரியாது.

சூரியன் இருக்கிறது என்பது எல்லோருக்கும் தெரியும், இரவிலே பார்த்தால் சூரியன் தோன்றாது.

இரவிலே சூரியனை பார்த்து தவறாக சூரியன் என்பதே இல்லை என சொல்வது எவ்வளவு அவசர புத்தியோ… அவ்வளவு அவசர புத்திதான் தனக்கு நேரில்

 
தெரியாதது அத்தனையும் இல்லை என வாதிக்க முன்வருவது.எல்லாம் எல்லாருக்கும் தெரிகிற நிலைமையில் அமைந்தது அல்ல உலகம்.

உதாரணாமாக உங்களுடைய சரீரத்தையே… நீங்கள் பார்த்துக் கொள்வீர்களானால்

சரீரத்தில் இருக்கின்ற கால்,கை முதலியவை எல்லாம் நீங்கள் பார்க்க முடியும், அதே நேரத்தில் கண்களை நீங்களே பார்க்க வேண்டும் என விரும்பினால்

 
பார்க்க முடியுமா..?முடியாது !அதற்காக ஒருவன் அவசரப்பட்டு …

என் கையை பார்த்தேன் இதோ இருக்கிறது,

ஆகையால் எனக்கு ‘கை’ உண்டு.என் காலை பார்த்தேன் இதோ இருக்கிறது,

ஆகையால் எனக்கு ‘கால்’ உண்டு.நான் என் கண்ணை பார்க்க நினைக்கிறேன் அது தெரியவில்லை, ஆகையால் எனக்கு கண்ணில்லை என்று பேசலாமா..? அது தவறு !

கண்ணாடியில் பார்த்தால் கண்களின் பிம்பம் தெரியும்…! அதைப்போல் விக்ரஹங்கள் கடவுளின் பிம்பமாக இருக்கிறது.

இதோ இங்கு ரோஜாப்பூ மாலை இருக்கிறது..

இது என்ன பூ எனக்கேட்டால்

அதன் பெயரை சொல்லலாம்..! 

நிறத்தை கேட்டால் நிறத்தையும் சொல்லலாம் 

இது எந்த இடத்தில் கிடைக்கும் என்வும் சொல்லிவிடலாம்..ஆனால்..அதன் வாசம் எப்படியிருக்கும் எனக்கேட்டால் “முகர்ந்து” பார் என்றுதான் சொல்லமுடியும்!

கடவுள் எப்படியிருப்பார் என்று கேட்டால்..உணர்ந்துப்பார் என்றுதான் சொல்லமுடியும்!

Make the best use of the opportunities you are gifted with to acquire wisdom, and derive and spread joy. Learn from the saints, the eternal wisdom and profit from it. Then, spread noble thoughts and good impulses and grow spiritually.

“குரு சொன்னபடி உங்களால் நடக்க முடிகிறதா ?”

பெரியவாள் பக்தர்களுக்கு தரிசனம் கொடுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

எதிரே, ஒரு பெரிய மரம். தடிமனான குரங்கு ஒன்று வந்து மரத்தில் ஏறியது. பின், இருபது – முப்பது குரங்குகள் அந்த லீடர் குரங்கைத் தொடர்ந்து மரத்தில் ஏறின.

பெரியவாள், ஒரு கூடை மாம்பழத்தை மரத்தடியில் போடச் சொன்னார்கள்.

லீடர் குரங்கு என்ன உத்தரவு எப்படி போட்டதோ தெரியவில்லை! ஆனால், மற்ற குரங்குகள் ஒவ்வொன்றாக வந்து ஒரு பழத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு மேலே ஏறிச் சென்றன.லீடர் குரங்கு மட்டும் ஒரு பழத்தைக் கூட தொடவில்லை!

பெரியவாள் சொன்னார்கள்:

“குரங்குகள் போன்ற மிருகங்களுக்குக் கூட ஒரு discipline இருக்கு! லீடர் குரங்கு சொல்கிறபடி நடக்கின்றன. காட்டில், யானைகளுக்கு ஒரு தலைமை யானை இருக்கும்.அந்த லீடர் யானையை follow பண்ணித்தான் மற்ற யானைகள் செல்லும்.ஒரு கட்டெறும்பு செத்துப்போனால், மற்ற கட்டெறும்புகள் அதை இழுத்துச் செல்லும்.ஒரு காக்கை இறந்துபோனால், மற்ற காக்கைகள் மரத்தில் உட்கார்ந்து கொண்டு துக்கமாய் கதறும்.

ஆனால், ஆறறிவு படைத்த மனிதர்கள்தான் குரு சொல்கிறபடி நடப்பதில்லை. என்னைப் பார்த்து நீங்கள் எல்லாம் ஆச்சார்யாள், பெரியவாள் என்றெல்லாம் சொல்கிறீர்கள். ஆனால், நான் சொல்வதை உங்களால் செய்யமுடிகிறதில்லை!”

கவனமாகக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்த பக்தர்கள்,ஒரே குரலாக, “பெரியவா என்ன உத்தரவு போட்டாலும் செய்கிறோம்” என்று பக்தியோடு பதிலளித்தார்கள்.

“சரி. காலையில் இரண்டு நிமிஷமும், சாயங்காலம் இரண்டு நிமிஷமும் எனக்காக ஒதுக்குங்கள். இருபத்து நாலு மணி நேரத்தில், நாலு நிமிஷம்தான் கேட்கிறேன். காலையில், இரண்டு நிமிஷம் ‘ராம, ராம’ என்று சொல்லுங்கோ; சாயங்காலம், ‘சிவ, சிவ’ ன்னு சொல்லுங்கோ…”

“அப்படியே செய்கிறோம்” என்று சுமார் நூறு பேர்கள் தெரிவித்துக் கொண்டார்கள்.

அமளி அடங்கியதும், பெரியவாள் அருகிலிருந்த தொண்டர்களிடம், “பத்துப் பன்னிரண்டு பேர்களாவது, சொன்ன சொல்லைக் காப்பாத்துவா” என்றார்கள்.

அந்த, யாரோ பத்துப் பன்னிரண்டு புண்யாத்மாக்களை உருவாக்குவதற்காகத்தான், ஆழமான கருத்துடன், அரைமணி லெக்சர்!

குரங்கு, காட்டு யானை, கட்டெறும்பு , காக்கை – நமக்கு நல்ல வழிகாட்டிகள்; ‘ஆச்சார்யர்கள்’.

அவர்களை (அவைகளை)யாவது follow பண்ணலாம் தானே?

The purusha (man) is ‘he who lives in the pura,’ that is the physical body. He who lives in the Universe, which is His body is Purushotthama, the Supreme. A tiny ant creeping over the foot is cognised by your consciousness; that is because, a purusha has consciousness filling the entire body. The Purushotthama too has consciousness filling and activating His entire body, which is the Universe; and hence He is omniscient. The soul is the vyasthi (individual), the samashti (all of Creation) is God. The best reward for the individual (Purusha) is to merge in the Divine (Purushotthama). And the path is through the Knowledge begotten by action and love for God.

Message For The Day….Senses &Mind Are To Be set On the Right Course ….

All knowledge and experiences are associated with the mind externally. They do not go beyond the mind. The aspirant who seeks to experience the Atma will not be able to have it by performing worldly actions. The Atma is all-pervading. The Cosmos is permeated by the Chaitanya (AtmicConsciousness). When there is a pot with water, we can directly see the sun’s reflection. Absence of a pot does not mean that there is no sun or reflection of the sun. Irrespective of whether there is a body or not, whether there is a mind or not, the Atma is present. There is no need for a body or mind to experience the Divine. Until this is properly understood, good care has to be taken of the body, the senses, the mind and the intellect. They have to be set on the right course and not allowed to go astray. All troubles arise because the senses take to wrong paths.

‘Tweet’ – to post a message to Twitter – has been included in the hallowed pages of the Oxford English Dictionary.

Although the word ‘tweet’ is already in the OED in relation to bird song, it now has an additional official definition in the June 2013 edition.

Twitter is an online phenomenon, with 340 million tweets posted every day. Even the Pope, known as the voice of God, and the Dalai Lama have Twitter feeds.

Because Twitter has become such an important part of daily life in such a short space of time, the dictionary’s editors were willing to bend their own rules to include ‘tweet’ in the OED, the accepted authority on the evolution of the English language.

 

John Simpson, chief editor, said: ‘The noun and verb tweet (in the social-networking sense) has just been added to the OED.

‘This breaks at least one OED rule, namely that a new word needs to be current for ten years before consideration for inclusion.’

He added: ‘But it seems to be catching on.

'Tweet', as relating to micro-blogging site Twitter, is now an official word, according to the Oxford English Dictionary

Twitter is an online social networking service and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based messages of up to 140 characters, known as ‘tweets’.

Twitter was launched in July 2006 by entrepreneur Jack Dorsey and rapidly gained worldwide popularity, with over 500 million registered users as of 2012.

Roughly 340 million tweets are posted daily and Twitter handles more than 1.6 billion search queries per day.

Since its launch, Twitter has become one of the ten most visited websites on the Internet.

It is based in San Francisco.

In December Pope Benedict XVI, using the papal account ‘Pontifex’, sent his first tweet. It read: ‘Dear friends, I am pleased to get in touch with you through Twitter. Thank you for your generous response. I bless all of you from my heart.’

The mood during entertainment is very different as the crowd there are moved by totally different impulses. However, in a gathering devoted to the needs of the spirit, what is expected is calm, reverential and eager attention, prayerful silence. Silence is most needed in all spiritual gatherings where deeper spiritual disciplines are discussed. Only the eye and the ear need function, the tongue has no business to wag. Everyone then will be able to receive completely, the gift of love and grace. Learn to make the best of life, this chance offered to you to sublimate your instincts, impulses and impressions on the mind from past deeds (Vasanas) and rise higher and higher in the moral and spiritual plane.

Indonesia Installing Goddess Saraswathi Statue @ Massachusetts !!!

Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 2B, at its monthly meeting last night, April 10, unanimously supported a request by the Embassy of Indonesia to erect a statue of a Hindu goddess on public space on Massachusetts Avenue NW. It also unanimously called on DC’s Historic Preservation Office (HPO) to improve its operating procedures and communication both with ANCs and with the public.

Statue of Saraswati on Public Space

The Commission heard a presentation by Heru Subolo, Minister-Counselor for Press and Information Affairs of the Embassy of Indonesia, asking for ANC support for a proposed statue of Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, arts and science, to be erected on a public space next to the grounds of the Embassy at2020 Massachusetts Avenue NW.

Subolo told the committee that the statue had been approved by the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Foreign Missions. Subolo also said that the planned site for the statue had been moved, at the request of the DC government’s Historic Preservation Office (HPO), from its original planned location at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and 21st Street (also adjacent to the Embassy), to a location next to the sidewalk further west along Massachusetts.

The location is currently fenced in. Subolo said that the fence would be removed to make the statue accessible to the public.

“I’m really happy to open up a fenced space,” said Kevin O’Connor, ANC commissioner for district 2B-02.

“This is a wonderful addition to our neighborhood and to our nation’s capital. Hindus across DC and around the world are ecstatic about this beautiful statue of Saraswati. It is so fitting that it will be installed just a stone’s throw from the also magnificent statue of Mahatma Gandhi — the only statue of a Hindu in DC,” said Kishan Putta, ANC 2B-04 commissioner.

It is believed that every man has a free will. This is a mistake. It is also believed that it is through the individual’s ideas and efforts that many things are accomplished. This is based on misconceptions regarding man’s doership and egoism. Strength derived from the Divine alone is true strength. All else is weakness. To realise theAtma, physical prowess is of no avail. It is only by developing the sense of spiritual oneness, that the Atmic Consciousness can be realised. Today the world is plunged in chaos and conflict because this feeling of oneness has been lost. Man engages himself in strenuous efforts to achieve worldly comforts. But he does not make even a minute fraction of such efforts to meditate on God. How much greater happiness would he enjoy if he were to devote even a few moments to thoughts of God!
