Pindrop Silence !!!….Few Drops of Those Moments !!!!

Veer Savarkar once started addressing a public meeting in Hindi at Bangalore .
The crowd started shouting ” Speak in Kannada. We will hear only in kannada.”
Veer Savarkar replied ” Friends, I have spent 14 years of rigorous imprisonment in the infamous Andaman Jail where all freedom fighters were kept in jail. I have learned Bengali from the freedom fighters coming from Bengal , Hindi from those coming from Uttar Pradesh, even Gujarati and Punjabi.  Unfortunately there was none from Karnataka from whom I could have learned Kannada.”

…and there was pin drop silence.

At a time when the US President and other US politicians tend to apologize for their country’s prior actions, here’s a refresher on how some former US personnel handled negative comments about the United States.

JFK’S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60’s when Charles DeGaule, the French President, decided to pull out of NATO.
DeGaule said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible.

Rusk responded “does that include those who are buried here?

DeGaule did not respond.

You could have heard a pin drop.

When in England , at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if US plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building by George Bush.

He answered by saying, ‘Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders.
The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.’

You could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American.
During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying ‘Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done?
He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims.  What does he intended to do, bomb them?’
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: ‘Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency  electrical power to shore facilities; they have three  cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck.  We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?’
You could have heard a pin drop.
A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies.
At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries.
Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks when a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English.
He then asked, ‘Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?’
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied, ‘Maybe it’s because the Brit’s, Canadians, Aussie’s and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German.’
You could have heard a pin drop.
………… AND THE FOLLOWING STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE ……….
Robert Whiting, an elderly US gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane.
At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on.
“You have been to France before, monsieur?” the customs officer asked  sarcastically.
Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously.
“Then you should know enough to have your passport ready.”
The American said, ‘The last time I was here, I didn’t have to show it.”
“Impossible. Americans always have to show your passports on arrival in France !”
The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard  look.
Then he quietly explained, ”Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country,
I couldn’t find a single Frenchman to show a passport to.”
You could have heard a pin drop.
Message For The Day…”Struggle …and You Get The Strength to Succeed”…
Everyone is now seeking comfort and pleasure; it is considered the be-all and end-all. If you tell someone that he or she can eat whatever they like and as much as they like, they will be delighted. If you add that they may develop, as a natural consequence, illnesses and describe the suffering associated with it, you will immediately become their enemy! No regimen or control is ever popular. However, know that strength is derived only from control, only from restraint and regulation. One becomes tough and capable of endurance only if hardships are welcomed. Struggle, and you get the strength to succeed. Seek the basis for the seen in the unseen. The tall skyscraper has a deep base buried deep into the earth.
ஆங்கில எழுத்துருவில் தமிழை எழதினால் என்ன !!!
சென்னையில் பெரும் ஆங்கிலப் புத்தகக் கடையொன்றில் ஓர் அறிவிப்பைப் பார்த்தேன். அன்று வந்துசேர்ந்த ஆங்கில நூல் ஒன்று 2,000 பிரதிகள் விற்றிருக்கிறது என்று சொன்னது அது. பரபரப்பாக விற்கும் ஒரு தமிழ் நூல் வருடம் 2,000 பிரதிகள்தான் விற்கும். அதில் 1,500 பிரதிகள் நூலகத்துக்கு வாங்கப்படுபவை. தமிழகம் முழுக்க 500 பிரதிகள் வாசகர்களிடம் விற்கப்பட்டால் அது ஒரு சாதனை!
நம் இளைய தலைமுறை ஏராளமாக வாசிக்கிறது. ஆனால், தாய்மொழிகளில் வாசிப்பதில்லை. காரணம், இந்தியாவெங்கும் ஆங்கிலக் கல்வி பரவலாகிவருகிறது. உலகமயச் சூழலில் ஆங்கிலமே வேலை வாய்ப்புக் கல்விக்குரிய மொழி என நிறுவப்பட்டுவிட்டது. அது தெளிவான உண்மையும்கூட. ஆகவே, எதிர்காலத்திலும் ஆங்கிலமே இங்கே கல்வியின் மொழியாக இருக்கும். அதைத் தடுக்கவே முடியாது. வரலாற்றின் போக்கு அது. அதற்கு எதிராகப் பிடிவாதமாக நிலைகொள்வது அடிப்படைவாதம் மட்டுமே.
ஆங்கிலக் கல்வியால் தாய்மொழிக் கல்வி கைவிடப்படுவதைக் கண்டு, இந்திய மாநில அரசுகள் தாய்மொழிக் கல்வியைக் கட்டாயமாக்குகின்றன. விளைவாக, குழந்தைகள் இரண்டாவது மொழியாகத் தாய்மொழியை எடுத்து, பள்ளி இறுதிவரை அதைப் படிக்கின்றனர். ஆனால், அது இரண்டாவது மொழியாக இருப்பதாலேயே அதில் அவர்களுக்குக் கவனம் நீடிப்பதில்லை.
பிரெஞ்சு அல்லது சம்ஸ்கிருதத்தை இரண்டாம் மொழியாக எடுத்துப் பயிலும் குழந்தைகள், எப்படி அம்மொழிகளைக் கற்கின்றனவோ அப்படித்தான் இன்று நம் குழந்தைகளும் தாய்மொழியைக் கற்கின்றன. அதாவது, தேர்வுகளில் எளிதாக வெல்வதற்கு மட்டுமே தட்டுத்தடுமாறி வாசிக்கவும் ஓரளவு எழுதவும் கற்கின்றனர். இந்த உண்மையை நாம் மழுப்ப வேண்டியதில்லை.
அவர்கள் சந்திக்கும் சிக்கல் என்ன? இளமையில் இரண்டு மொழிகளின் எழுத்து வடிவங்களைக் கற்றுக்கொள்வதில் இருக்கும் சிரமம்தான் என்று சொல்லலாம். இன்று ஏதேனும் ஒரு துறையில் தகுதியுடையவராக ஆக வேண்டுமென்றால், மிக விரிவான பல்லாண்டு காலக் கல்வி தேவைப்படுகிறது. ஆகவே, கல்விக்கு உதவாமல் வெறுமே மொழியறிவுக்காக மட்டுமே கற்கப்படும் இரண்டாம் மொழியை விட்டுவிடுகிறார்கள்.
மொழிக்கும் எழுத்துருவுக்குமான உறவு என்பது ஒரு மனப்பயிற்சிதான் என்பதை நினைவில் கொள்ள வேண்டும். க என்ற எழுத்தைப் பார்த்ததும் அந்த ஒலி நினைவுக்கு வருவதற்கு நாம் இளமையிலேயே குழந்தைகளைப் பழக்குகிறோம். நமக்கு அது இயல்பான ஒன்றாகத் தெரிகிறது. ஆனால், குழந்தைகள் மிகக் கடினமான ஈராண்டுப் பயிற்சி வழியாகவே அந்தப் பயிற்சியை அடைகின்றன.
எழுதுவது என்பது இன்னும் சிக்கலானது. சமூகவியல் ஆய்வாளரான மிஷேல் ஃபூக்கோ “எழுத்து என்பது கைகளுக்கு அளிக்கப்படும் கழைக்கூத்தாட்டப் பயிற்சி” என்கிறார். நம் குழந்தைகளுக்கு அதைக் கட்டாயமாக ஆக்கியிருப்பதால் அவர்கள் இளமையில் கற்றுக்கொள்கிறார்கள். ஆனால், அவர்களின் வாழ்க்கையில் அது மிகக் கடினமான ஓர் உழைப்பு. மிருகங்களையும் பறவைகளையும் வித்தைக்காகப் பழக்குவதற்கும் இதற்கும் பெரிய வேறுபாடு உண்மையில் இல்லை.
இந்நிலையில், இந்தியக் குழந்தை இளமையில் ஒரே சமயம் இரண்டு எழுத்துருக்கள் முன்னால் நிறுத்தப்படுகிறது. இரண்டு மடங்கு உழைப்பு அதற்குக் கட்டாயமாக்கப்படுகிறது. க என்றாலும் ka என்றாலும் ஒரே உச்சரிப்புதான் என அது உணர்ந்து தெளிய நேரமாகிறது. மேலும், எழுத்துகளைக் கற்றுக்கொண்டால் மட்டும் போதாது. இது கல்வி அல்ல, பயிற்சி. தொடர்ந்து நிகழும் பயிற்சியே நம்மிடம் நீடிக்கும். நம் குழந்தைகள் ஆங்கிலத்திலேயே எழுதுகின்றன, வாசிக்கின்றன. ஆகவே, இரண்டாம் மொழியாகக் கற்றுக்கொண்ட தமிழ் அவர்கள் கைகளுக்கும் கருத்துக்கும் பழக்கமற்றதாக ஆகிவிடுகிறது.
இந்தச் சிக்கலைத் தாண்டுவதற்கான வழிமுறைகளைத்தான் நாம் யோசிக்க வேண்டும். இன்று நானறிந்து தமிழகத்தில் இணையம், ஃபேஸ்புக் போன்றவற்றுக்காகக் கணினியில் தட்டச்சு செய்பவர்கள் அனைவருமே ஆங்கில எழுத்துகளிலேயே தட்டச்சு செய்துகொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்: அம்மா இங்கே வா வா என்றால், “ammaa ingkee vaa vaa” என்று. ஒரு வாரத்தில் அவர்கள் ஆங்கில எழுத்துகளில் தமிழை எழுதும் பயிற்சியை அடைந்துவிடுகிறார்கள்.
நான் பதின்மூன்றாண்டு காலமாக ஆங்கில எழுத்துகளிலேயே தமிழைத் தட்டச்சுசெய்கிறேன். பேசும் வேகத்தில் எழுத முடியும் என்னால். கண்ணெதிரே தமிழ் தெரிகிறது, என் கைகளில் ஆங்கில எழுத்துருக்கள் ஓடுகின்றன. எந்தச் சிரமமும் இல்லை. ஆங்கில எழுத்துகளில் எழுதப்பட்ட தமிழை நான் சரளமாக வாசிக்கவும் செய்வேன். ஏன் தமிழை இவ்வாறு ஆங்கில எழுத்துருக்களிலேயே எழுதக் கூடாது?
பள்ளிகளில் இதைக் கற்பித்தால், குழந்தைகளுக்கு ஒரே ஒரு எழுத்துருவைக் கற்பித்தால் போதும். அவர்கள் தமிழை இன்னும் வேகமாக, இன்னும் சகஜமாக வாசிக்க அது உதவும் அல்லவா? நாம் தமிழைப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கும்வரை தமிழ் நம்முடன் இருக்கும். அதை அனைவரும் சரளமாக வாசிப்பதற்கான வழியை மட்டுமே யோசிக்கிறேன். உடனடியாகக் கேள்விப் படும்போது சற்று அபத்தமான, அதீதமான எண்ணமாக இது தோன்றக்கூடும். ஆனால், எல்லா மாற்றங்களும் முதலில் அப்படித்தான் தோன்றும். அவற்றுக்கு மரபு அளிக்கும் கடுமையான எதிர்ப்பும் முக்கியமானது. அந்த எதிர்ப்பையும் கருத்தில்கொண்டு வெற்றி பெற்று நிகழக்கூடிய மாற்றமே ஆக்க பூர்வமாக இருக்கும். ஆகவே, நாம் இதை விவாதிக்க வேண்டுமென நினைக்கிறேன்.
உடனடியாகச் செய்யக்கூடியதல்ல இது. ஆரம்பப் பள்ளி முதலே ஆங்கில எழுத்துகளில் தமிழைக் குழந்தைகளுக்குக் கற்றுக்கொடுக்க வேண்டும். குழந்தைகள் அதிகபட்சம் ஒரு வருடத்தில் இதைக் கற்றுக் கொள்ளும். அதற்கேற்ப தொடர்ச்சியாகத் தமிழின் நூல்களை எல்லாம் அந்த எழுத்துருவுக்கு மாற்றிக்கொண்டே இருக்க வேண்டும். இரண்டு எழுத்துருக்களுமே ஒருதலைமுறைக் காலம் புழக்கத்தில் இருக்கலாம். மேலும், இன்றைய தொழில் நுட்பத்தில் எந்த ஓர் எழுத்தையும் ஓர் எழுத்துருவிலிருந்து இன்னொன்றுக்கு எளிதில் மாற்றிக்கொள்ளலாம்.
மலாய் போன்ற பல மொழிகள் இன்று ஆங்கில எழுத்துருக்களிலேயே எழுதப்படு கின்றன. அந்த மக்கள் ஆங்கிலம் கற்பது எளிதாகிறது. மலாய் மொழி வாழவும் செய்கிறது. அதன் எழுத்துருக்களைத் தனியாக எவரும் பயில வேண்டியதில்லை. கொஞ்சம் பேசத் தெரிந்தவர்கள் அதை வாசித்துவிடலாம். ஆங்கில எழுத்துருக்கள் மலாய் மொழியை வளப்படுத்தவே செய்கின்றன. இந்தியாவில் உள்ள மொழிகள் அனைத்தும் ஆங்கில எழுத்துருக்களில் எழுதப்பட்டால் பெரும்பாலான மொழிகளை மிகச் சில நாட்களிலேயே வாசித்துப் புரிந்துகொள்ள முடியும். தென்னக மொழிகளைப் பிரிப்பது அவற்றின் வேறுபட்ட எழுத்துருக்கள்தான். மற்றபடி அவை 70% ஒன்றே.
எழுத்துருக்கள் மொழியின் மாறாத அடையாளங்கள் அல்ல. தமிழ் ஆரம்ப காலத்தில் பிராமி எழுத்துருவில்தான் எழுதப்பட்டன. அந்த எழுத்துகளில் இருந்து வட்டெழுத்து உருவாகிவந்தது. அந்த எழுத்துரு கைவிடப்பட்டு, இன்றைய எழுத்துரு வந்திருக்கிறது. அச்சு வடிவுக்கு வந்த பின் இந்த எழுத்துருவில் ஏராளமான மாறுதல்கள் வந்துள்ளன. பயிற்சி பெற்ற ஒருவரே நூறாண்டுகளுக்கு முந்தைய சுவடிகளை வாசிக்க முடியும். வருங்காலத்துக்காக நம் எழுத்துருக்களை மாற்றிக்கொண்டால் அதில் பிழையில்லை என்றே படுகிறது. அது காதில் தமிழ் கேட்கும் சூழல்கொண்ட, தமிழைப் புரிந்துகொள்ளக்கூடிய எவரும் தமிழில் வாசிக்கும் சூழலை உருவாக்கும். தமிழ் வருங்காலத்திலும் வாசிக்கப்படும். இல்லை யேல், தமிழ் ஒருவகைப் பேச்சு வழக்காக மட்டுமே நீடிக்கும். அதில் இலக்கியமும் அறிவுத் துறைகளும் நிகழாமல் போகும். சம்ஸ்கிருதம்போலப் பாதுகாக்கப்படும் தொல்பொருளாகவோ பல்வேறு பழங்குடி மொழிவழக்குகள்போல நடைமுறை உரை யாடலுக்கான ஒன்றாகவோ மட்டுமே தமிழ் நீடிக்கும்.
Wear new Values ..Not just clothes …
Experience Joy and Peace..Not just Play and Fun…
BE HAPPY…HAVE A GREAT DAY!
 4th Day of DIWALI
“NEW YEAR ”
The Fourth day is called Padwa or VarshaPratipada that marks the coronation of King Vikramaditya and Vikaram-Samvat was started from this Padwa day.
The day after the Lakshmi Puja, most families celebrate the new year by dressing in new clothes, wearing jewellery and visiting family members and business colleagues to give them sweets, dry fruits and gifts.
On this day, Goverdhan Pooja is performed. As per Vishnu-Puran, the people of Gokul used to celebrate a festival in honour of Lord Indra and worshipped him after the end of every monsoon season. But one particular year the young Krishna stopped them from offering prayers to Lord Indra who in terrific anger sent a deluge to submerge Gokul. But Krishna saved his Gokul by lifting up the Govardhan Mountain and holding it over the people as an umbrella.
This day is also observed as Annakoot and prayers are offered in the temples. In temples especially in Mathura and Nathadwara, the deities are given milkbath, dressed in shining attires with ornaments of dazzling diamonds, pearls, rubies and other precious stones.
He has travelled to some of the world’s remotest destinations and come face to face with deadly animals to capture these stunning images.
And Scots wildlife photographer David Yarrow even escaped an up close and personal meeting with a lioness on the prairie during his global travels.
Mr Yarrow, from Glasgow, has produced almost 90 black and white pictures of wildlife in some of the harshest landscapes on Earth.
The self-taught 47-year-old said the confrontation was his ‘one moment of real fear’ during his travels to collect the stunning pictures for his new book.
The encounter happened in the Katmai National Park, Alaska, which is home to thousands of brown bears.
Covering its mouth: Encounter by David Yarrow is published by Clearview, in affiliation with the conservation charity Tusk, on November 12
Black and white: Self-taught wildlife photographer Mr Yarrow, who has produced the collection for a new book, took this stunning image of a zebra
stunning image of a zebra…
Mr Yarrow said: ‘As I turned a corner after a walk through the woods, I was met with the sight of an approaching bear 80 yards away.
‘It says little for my general sense of self-preservation that, after the initial shock, I instinctively raised my camera and took one picture – the lack of crispness hints at my fast heartbeat and sense of haste.
‘I then did as the safety drill instructed and stood to one side talking loudly to the bear.
‘”Good afternoon Mr Bear”, were my exact words – repeated regularly and louder and louder…
‘In retrospect, it was all rather comical, but the nearest human was at least a mile away.
‘Luckily the bear did exactly what we had been assured they tend to do in Katmai and wandered off showing no interest in me whatsoever.
‘But it is not the most relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon, and not too long after this incident, a photographer elsewhere in Alaska was killed by a bear.’
அனுப்புவோமா நாம் வாழ்த்து அட்டை …காட்டுவோமா வழி நம் குழந்தைகளுக்கு !!!
பரபரப்புகள் ஏதுமற்ற நம் பால்யத்தில் பண்டிகைகள் தொடங்கிவிட்டாலே புத்தாடை, பலகாரங்களைப் போலவே வாழ்த்து அட்டைகளும் விற்றுத் தீர்க்கும். ஆடை வாங்கக்கூட அத்தனை யோசிக்க மாட்டார்கள். ஆனால் மனம் விரும்பிய வடிவத்தில் வாழ்த்து அட்டை கிடைக்கவில்லை என்றால் கொஞ்சம் சுணங்கித்தான் போவார்கள்.
தீபாவளியைப் போலவே பொங்கல் மற்றும் புத்தாண்டு வாழ்த்து அட்டைகளும் சக்கைப்போடு போடும். சுருள்முடி நெற்றியில் விழ, பெருமிதமாகச் சிரிக்கும் நடிகர் திலகம், கையில் சாட்டையுடன் பாட்டுப் பாடும் மக்கள் திலகம் தொடங்கி, ரஜினிகாந்த், கமலஹாசன் உருவப் படங்கள் அச்சிட்ட வாழ்த்து அட்டைகள் எல்லாம் கடைக்கு வந்த அன்றே காணாமல் போகும் மாயமும் நடந்திருக்கிறது.
இரு புறமும் செங்கரும்புகள் நிற்க, நடுவே பொங்கல் பானையுடன் மாடுகள் இருக்கும் வாழ்த்து அட்டையே பொங்கல் திருநாளின் மகத்துவத்தையும் மகிழ்ச்சியையும் சொல்லிவிடும். புத்தாண்டு வாழ்த்து அட்டைகளில் மலர்ந்து சிரிக்கும் ரோஜாக்களையும் குழந்தைகளையும் பார்க்கலாம்.
இப்படித் தேடித் தேடி அட்டைகள் வாங்கி, பின்பக்கம் தங்கள் கைப்பட நாலு வார்த்தை எழுதி, அடியில் வீட்டில் இருக்கிறவர்களின் பெயர்களை எல்லாம் வரிசையாகப் பட்டியலிட்டு, மறக்காமல் ஸ்டாம்ப் ஒட்டி, தபால்பெட்டியில் போட்டுவிட்டுத் திரும்பும்போது மனம் முழுக்கப் பரவுகிற மகிழ்ச்சி இருக்கிறதே அதை வார்த்தைகளில் விவரித்துவிட முடியாது. அதுவும் இளவட்டங்கள் தங்கள் முறைப்பெண் இருக்கும் வீட்டுக்கு வாழ்த்துச் செய்தியோடு, காதல் செய்தியையும் இலைமறை காய்மறையாக அனுப்புகிற வைபவமும் அரங்கேறும். பண்டிகைக்கு ஒரு வாரம் இருக்கும்போதே தபால்காரரின் சைக்கிள் மணி நம் வீட்டு வாசலில் ஒலிக்கிறதா, யாராவது வாழ்த்து அட்டை அனுப்பியிருக்கிறார்களா என்று காத்திருப்பதிலும் ஒரு சுகம் இருக்கத்தான் செய்தது. விஞ்ஞான வளர்ச்சி பெருகப் பெருக, வாழ்த்து அட்டைகள் அனுப்புவது குறைந்துவிட்டது.
‘டேய் மாமா வீட்டுக்கும் பெரியம்மா வீட்டுக்கும் கார்டு போடணும்டா’ என்று சொல்கிற பெரியவர்களும் அருகிவருகிறார்கள். வீட்டுக்கு வீடு தொலைபேசி வந்த பிறகு தொலைபேசியில் சம்பிரதாயத்துக்கு வாழ்த்து சொல்வதோடு நின்றுவிட்டோம். அதுவும் ஆளுக்கு இரண்டு செல்போன் என்ற நிலை வந்ததும், ‘ஹாப்பி திவாலி’என்று குழுச் செய்தி அனுப்பிவிட்டு வேறு வேலை பார்க்கக் கிளம்பிவிடுகிறோம்.
பண்டிகை தினத்தில் குறுஞ்செய்திகள் அனுப்பினால் அதிகமாகப் பணம் செலவாகும் என்று நான்கு நாட்கள் முன்னதாகவே குறுஞ்செய்தி அனுப்புகிற கனவான்களும் சீமாட்டிகளும் இருக்கிறார்கள். அனுப்புகிறவருக்கும் மகிழ்ச்சி இல்லை, வாழ்த்துச் செய்தியைப் படிக்கிறவருக்கும் புன்னகை இல்லை. வாழ்வின் சின்னச் சின்ன சுவாரஸ்யங்களையும் ஆனந்தங்களையும்கூடத் தொலைத்துவிட்டோம் என்பதே புரியாமல், வாழ்த்துகளைச் சொல்லித் திரிகிறோம். இரண்டு இயந்திரங்களுக்கு இடையே பரிமாறப்படுகிற தகவல்கள்கூட மனித மனங்களுக்கு நடுவே நிகழ்வதில்லை.
தபால்காரரிடம் இருந்து வாழ்த்து அட்டையைப் பிடுங்காத குறையாக வாங்கிக் கொண்டு வந்து, யாரெல்லாம் அனுப்பியிருக்கிறார்கள், யார் பெயரையெல்லாம் எழுதியிருக்கிறார்கள் என்று பரபரப்புடன் பார்க்கிற சுகத்தை இந்தத் தலைமுறை அனுபவித்திருக்கிறதா? பிறந்த வீட்டில் இருந்து வந்த அட்டையைப் படிக்க முடியாமல் மகிழ்ச்சியில் கண்கள் பளபளக்க எத்தனை பெண்கள் நின்றிருப்பார்கள்?
விடுமுறை விண்ணப்பம் தவிர வேறு எதற்கும் பேனா மூடியைத் திறக்காத இந்தத் தலைமுறை எதை மகிழ்ச்சி எனக் கொண்டாடுகிறது? அடித்துப் பிடித்து சொகுசுப் பேருந்தில் டிக்கெட் எடுத்துப் பெரிய பெரிய கடைகளில் வாங்கிய இனிப்புகளை அள்ளிக்கொண்டுச் செல்வதிலேயே பண்டிகை முழுமை பெற்றுவிட்டதாக நினைத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது.
உண்மையில் இதுவா கொண்டாட்டம்? இதுதானா மகிழ்ச்சி? ஒரு கிலோ இனிப்பைவிட ஒரு வரி வாழ்த்து உங்கள் மனதை அடுத்தவருக்குப் புரியவைத்துவிடாதா? உங்கள் கையெழுத்தின் நெளிவில் உங்கள் நேசம் புரிந்துகொள்ளப்படாதா? சென்னை போன்ற பெருநகரங்களில் மட்டுமல்ல, தமிழகத்தின் கிராமங்களிலும் இதே நிலைதான்.
“என் சின்ன வயசுல நிறையப் பேருக்கு வாழ்த்து அட்டை அனுப்பியிருக்கேன். சில சமயம் அட்டை வாங்கக் கையில காசு இருக்காது. நானே தபால் கார்டுல படம் வரைஞ்சு அனுப்பியிருக்கேன். இப்போ சிலர் போன்ல வாழ்த்துச் சொல்றாங்க. இன்னும் சிலர் ஒரு மெசேஜ் அனுப்பிடறாங்க. என்ன பண்றது? காலத்துக்கு ஏத்த மாதிரி எல்லாமே மாறிடுச்சு. அதுக்கேத்த மாதிரி சந்தோஷமும் குறைஞ்சுடுச்சு” என்று வருத்தத்துடன் சொல்கிறார் வேலூரைச் சேர்ந்த அரங்கநாதன்.
திண்டுக்கல் சுப்பிரமணியத்தின் அனுபவமும் அதையேதான் ஆமோதிக்கிறது. “பண்டிகை வந்தா போதும் நான் என் தம்பிகளோட சேர்ந்து வாழ்த்து அட்டை வாங்கக் கிளம்பிடுவேன். யாருக்கெல்லாம் வாழ்த்து அனுப்பணும்னு அம்மா சொல்லுவாங்க. யாருக்கு அனுப்புறோமோ அதுக்கு ஏத்த மாதிரி வாழ்த்து எழுதுவோம். என் தம்பியோட கையெழுத்து அழகா இருக்கும். அதனால அவன்தான் நிறைய அட்டையில எழுதுவான். பொங்கல், தீபாவளி வந்தா சொந்தங்களுக்கு வாழ்த்து அட்டை அனுப்புவோம்னு சொன்னா என் மகன் ஆச்சரியமா பார்க்கிறான். அவங்களுக்கு போன்ல சொல்றது மட்டும்தான் வாழ்த்து. என்ன பண்றது? இந்தத் தலைமுறை மகிழ்ச்சிகளோட அறிமுகம் இல்லாமதான் வளருது” என்று நிதர்சனத்தைச் சொல்கிறார் சுப்பிரமணி.
இந்தத் தலைமுறைக்கு எதுவும் வாய்க்கவில்லை என்று சொல்வதைவிட அதற்கான வாய்ப்பை நாம் ஏற்படுத்தித் தரலாமே. நேரமில்லை என்று சப்பைக்கட்டுவதை விட்டுவிட்டு நாமே நம் நண்பர்களுக்கும் உறவுகளுக்கும் வாழ்த்து அட்டை அனுப்பினால், அந்த அன்பு நிச்சயம் எதிரொலிக்கத்தான் செய்யும். இதோ தீபாவளி வந்துவிட்டது. யாருக்கெல்லாம் வாழ்த்துச் சொன்னோம்? இன்னும் யாரையெல்லாம் தொடர்பு கொண்டு பேசப்போகிறோம்? நம் வாழ்த்துச் செய்தியை எதிர்பார்த்து எத்தனை பேர் காத்திருக்கிறார்கள்? நம் வாழ்த்து, எத்தனை மனங்களை மலரச் செய்யப்போகிறது, எத்தனை முகங்களைப் புன்னகையால் முகிழ்க்கப் போகிறது? இந்தக் கேள்விகளுக்கான பதிலில்தான் பண்டிகையின் கொண்டாட்டமும் உறவின் மகத்துவமும் அடங்கியிருக்கிறது.
Message For The Day…A Person is Judged From Integrity Angle …
A person or an institution is to be judged according to their integrity, whether their acts are according to the principles professed. The mind, the body, and the word – all three must work in unison. When work (Karma) is thus disciplined and regulated, automatically your senses will become sublimated and you will attain everlasting Prasanthi (inner peace). From this will arise Prakanti (the great light), and from that will emerge Param Jyoti (Supreme Illumination). That Illumination will reveal the Paramatma (Divinity) present within you! You must achieve that success by following the path laid out for you – conquer anger and desire, achieve love through the practice of incessant meditation (Japa-Dhyana), which will lead to the blossoming of the lotus of the heart and the emergence of Divinity from within you!
