Message For The Day….Elders Should Show The Way to Their Children For The Right Path …

For the wisdom of discrimination to dawn on people, elders must first set an example in discrimination and detachment. If they run after sensory pleasures with feverish excitement, how can the youth be blamed for their selfishness and greed? The elders must practise what they preach, show how a divine life confers mental poise, joy, contentment and harmony. They must spend at least some time everyday in the recital of the Lord’s Name or on Meditation. Then, children too, will imbibe that atmosphere and acquire peace for sure. Today, many speak with full passion that there is nothing as sweet as the Name of the Lord, but they do not repeat it at all. Children will easily discover the hoax, if one neglects their own spiritual progress on the path, but preaches it. The accountability of those who profess the spiritual path is great and must not be undermined.

Laughter …The Best Medicine !!! “Chicken was Delicious ” !!!

Four brothers left home for college, and they became successful doctors and lawyers.

One evening, they chatted after having dinner together. They
discussed the 95th birthday gifts they were able to give their elderly mother who moved to Florida .

The first said, “You know I had a big house built for Mama.”

The second said, “And I had a large theater built in the house.”

The third said, “And I had my Mercedes dealer deliver an SL600 to her.”

The fourth said, “You know how Mama loved reading the Bible and you know she can’t read anymore because she can’t see very well. I met this preacher who told me about a parrot who could recite the entire Bible. It took ten preachers almost 8 years to teach him. I had to pledge to contribute $50,000 a year for five years to the church, but it was worth it. Mama only has to name the chapter and verse, and the parrot will recite it.”

The other brothers were impressed. After the celebration Mama sent out her “Thank You” notes.

She wrote: Milton , the house you built is so huge that I live in only one room, but I have to clean the whole house. Thanks anyway.”

“Marvin, I am too old to travel. I stay home; I have my groceries delivered, so I never use the Mercedes. The thought was good. Thanks.”

“Michael, you gave me an expensive theater with Dolby sound and it can hold 50 people, but all of my friends are dead, I’ve lost my hearing, and I’m nearly blind. I’ll never use it. Thank you for the gesture just the same.”

“Dearest Melvin, you were the only son to have the good sense to give a little thought to your gift. The chicken was delicious Thank you so much.”

Salt, Pepper and the Spices of Life ….A Viewpoint !!!!

Nice Viewpoint….
Salt, Pepper and the Spices of Life
You’re sitting at a table, having a meal with some friends. Bowls of soup are served to everyone at the table. Before tasting the soup, the person next to you reaches for the salt
and pepper, and for the next 20 seconds vigorously shakes in to the soup more salt and pepper than you would use in a month.
You have a pained look on your face. These thoughts immediately go through your mind: “Why would you put salt and pepper in soup, or on any dish, BEFORE you taste it? How do you know how much to add?” You might also think, “How can someone put so much salt and pepper in their food?”
Of course, the roles could be reversed. You might be the one who loves to put a lot of salt and pepper on your food and the person next to you eats the soup without adding salt or
pepper. In that case, you think, “How can she eat this bland soup without putting any seasoning in it?”
When it comes to salt, pepper, onions, garlic, curry or just about any type of seasoning, we tend to see things only one way – OUR way. It’s hard for us to understand how someone
could enjoy food when it is not seasoned as we think is appropriate. We cringe when we see someone “overdoing” or “under-doing” the spices.
How we season our food is a matter of preference and personal taste. There is no right or wrong way to use seasonings. Furthermore, the way in which another applies salt and pepper does not affect us in any way. They’re not putting the salt and pepper in YOUR soup. They are putting the spices in their own soup.
Our world is so diverse, and yet it is difficult for us to accept each other’s preferences.
Often, when we see people doing things we wouldn’t do, our mind says:
Why aren’t they thinking as I think?
Why aren’t they acting as I would act?
Your mind would often have you believe that your way is superior. Your beliefs and habits are shaped by your genetics and your environment. Each person has different genetics and
has grown up in an environment that is different than yours.
Why expect everyone to come to the same conclusion?
Our spiritual growth comes when we learn to accept that others have different preferences, and we honor those preferences. There is no universal religion that everyone will agree to practice. There is no universal political viewpoint that all will accept. There is no one way of raising children that all cultures will agree upon. Marriage customs will vary from
culture to culture.
Getting people to agree on these issues is like trying to get everyone to use the same amount of salt and pepper on their food. It’s not going to happen.
The diversity in this world is beautiful and we can open our hearts to it. Within our own country and in our relations with people in other countries, we need to continually remind
ourselves that it’s perfectly acceptable for people to have preferences. If the other person is not harming us, why can’t we just smile and get on with life?

The next time you’re tempted to judge or criticize the way other people think or act , realize that in most cases, they are just using a different amount of salt  or pepper than you would use …Allow them to have their preferences , and there is no need to even consider what YOU would do !!!

Message For The Day….What is “Samskrithi ” and “Samskara” ?….

‘Samskrithi’, the Sanskrit word for culture, is derived from the root word ‘Samskara’ which means the dual process of removing dust and dirt, and planting the virtues of Truth, Right Conduct, Love, Non-violence and Love. Certain obligatory rites of initiation and purification prescribed by the Vedas for one’s spiritual upliftment, are also referred to as Samskaras. There are 48 such, but all of them can be reduced to just one, which is the final and fulfilling one – recognition of one’s identity with the Divine. Man (Nara) is God (Narayana). The individual entity (Jiva) is Divinity (Brahman) seen through the limitations of primal ignorance.

Message For The Day….Walk the Path Shown to You by Vedic Sriptures ….

Walk the path shown to you by the Ramayana, Mahabharatha, Bhagavatha and other scriptures. Proceed along that path, unmindful of halts and handicaps, approvals or disapproval of kith and kin, of praise or blame from society. What exactly is praise or blame? They are words – just sound waves coming from across the air; waves that strike your ear. Let them strike only the outer ear, do not welcome them in. Grace is won by suffering alone. The Lord incarnates in the world when unrighteousness becomes rampant. Therefore adharma(unrighteousness) has to be suffered so that each one may have the joy of welcoming the Lord and experiencing His Presence.

Incredible Paintings on Maps…An Organic Vision of the World !!!

Madrid-based Spanish artist Fernando Vicente uses maps for more than geographical purposes. For his Atlas series, the creative illustrator paints on old maps, transforming countries and whole continents into people, animals, and skulls. The collection of acrylic paint portraits applied and integrated into each map, similar to the work of Ed Fairburn, gives the lands a new sense of life.

While cartography can be seen as an art in its own right, Vicente manages to transform each informative sheet into an interpretive piece. The images he adds to the maps are translucent enough to recognize the underlying contours of nations and the separation between ocean and land while simultaneously appreciating the artist’s ability to connect masses of land into one unified figure. His work presents an organic vision of the world, as though countries are not disconnected from one another and share a spirit guardian.
