Message For the Day…”Peel Away the Skin of of Your Ego and Remove the Seeds of Evil Thoughts …”

The fruit of love is present in each and every person’s life. The only task to be done to experience the fruit is to remove the outer skin. Once you peel the skin of the fruit, also remove the bitter seeds within it. Then you can extract the sweet juice, partake it and discard the pulp. Understand that God has given you this body only to relish the sweetness of Love. Peel away the skin of ego and ostentatiousness. Remove all the seeds of evil intentions, thoughts and deeds. Discard the pulp of possession and attachment. Then what remains is the sweet juice of love. All of you are farmers. You must engage in spiritual practices to cultivate your heart. Is there any use for an uncultivated land? Without wasting your life and keeping the land barren, focus on cultivating your heart to enjoy the sweetness of the Divine.

God is love and He is pleased with the pure hearted who love Him 100%. Make every effort to experience the indweller (Dehi) within the body (deha). The Dehi (Divine Soul) within you is immortal with no birth or death. Don’t forget that you are alive due to His Grace. You must necessarily do your bit to take care of your body without being attached to it. Always keep in view the Dehi within, connect with Him and discharge your duties. At the end of every day or every meeting, pray, “May all the beings in all the Worlds be happy” (Samasta Loka Sukhino Bhavanthu). Realize that the individual peace depends on the peace of those around you. Therefore always pray for the wellbeing and peace of everyone in the Universe.

People practice various forms of worship and rituals following their family tradition and culture. However they do not transform even a bit in spite of months and years of spiritual practice. Frustrated, they change the Name they are chanting, because they are tired of waiting for results. At times, people change not just the Name they chant, but also their religion. Know clearly that you cannot attain God’s Grace by changing the Name you chant or the religion. You must transform yourself. The dog in the home always recognizes its Master, no matter whether he or she wears a jogging dress, office uniform or party attire. It has no doubt about its Master, despite the dress worn. So too, you cannot convince God by merely changing your external appearance. You have to acquire virtues and conduct yourself righteously. Only the one who transforms the mind pleases the Lord and attains Divinity.

In the present, people disregard moral values and have no gratitude to those who helped them in times of need. In fact many youth lead miserable lives; they have no consideration for their kith and kin and do not hesitate to inflict harm on them. Educated young men and women do not behave like cultured human beings. What is the value of an education which does not enable you to do your duty to your spouse and children? The first requisite to fix these evils is the elimination of the bad qualities within. You must return to the path of morality and right conduct, fear sin and love God. People appearing to be pious and god-loving without genuine good qualities, and exhibiting hypocritical behaviour is vitiating the atmosphere everywhere; its promoting disorder and confusion. Everyone should therefore embark upon getting rid of bad traits and implanting Divine qualities. With love as your path realize the Divine within.

It was to remind people in the villages to think of God that the ancients built temples which towered above all other buildings. The temple tower was the first thing the villagers saw when they woke up in the morning. The sight of the temple spire immediately aroused in them spontaneous feelings of adoration. It must be recognised that it was not a crazy feeling which inspired the ancients to build huge temples at great expense. These multi-storeyed temple towers were built so that they might constantly evoke sacred thoughts about God in the minds of the people. It has been said: “The body (deha) is like a temple for theDehi (indwelling eternal Spirit).” Just as a doctor reminds you of illness, and a lawyer makes you think of litigation, in the same manner when you look at your body you must remember God.

Message For The Day…” A DivinePower is Always In You …”

Fire emerges when one wooden stick is rubbed against another. Can two sticks placed next to each other produce the fire? No. Fire though latent in them, emerges only through the act of rubbing of the sticks. What do these sticks symbolize? The sticks represent the human body. The fire of wisdom (jnana) is present in subtle form within us since our birth and is inert. Spiritual effort (Sadhana) is the process of rubbing the sticks. Where is the butter present in the milk? Butter has always been present in the milk and could be obtained only after the milk had been converted to curd and the curd was churned. Once butter is obtained from the buttermilk, it remains as butter without becoming milk. Likewise, in the human body, a divine power pervades every part of the body, which, after the experience of a Sakshatkar (vision of the Divine) will not be attached to the body.

முள்ளும் குறடும் ….முருகன் கருணை …!!!

இதிகாசம் மற்றும் புராணங்களில், தெய்வமே மனிதர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்து, துயரத்தில் இருந்து காப்பாற்றியதாக படித்திருப்போம் அல்லது கேட்டிருப்போம்.
‘அதெல்லாம் அந்தக் காலம்; இப்ப அதெல்லாம் நடக்காது; இது கலிகாலம்’ என்ற எதிர்மறையான புலம்பலும் உண்டு.
தெய்வத்திற்கு, காலக் கணக்கோ எல்லையோ கிடையாது. தெய்வம் என்றும் நின்று அருள் புரியும்.
கலியுகத்தில், அதுவும், இருபதாம் நூற்றாண்டில் வாழ்ந்த மகான் ஒருவருக்காக, முருகப் பெருமான் நடத்திய அருளாடல் இது.
இருபதாம் நூற்றாண்டில் வாழ்ந்தவர் பாம்பன் ஸ்வாமிகள். இவர், கனவிலும், நனவிலும் முருகனைத் தரிசித்தவர்.
ஒரு நாள் அவர், தென்னந்தோப்பிற்குள் நடந்து கொண்டிருந்தார். கடும் வெயில், தலைக்கு மேலே சூரியன் சுட்டது. தரையோ, கீழிருந்து கால்களைத் தாக்கியது.
கடும் வெயிலில் நடந்து கொண்டிருந்த பாம்பன் சுவாமிகளின் காலில், முள் தைத்து விட்டது. சுவாமிகள் அப்படியே தரையில் உட்கார்ந்து விட்டார். உடனே, தரையில் இருந்த கொதிப்பும் அவரைத் துன்புறுத்தியது.
முள் குத்திய காலைத் தூக்கி, தொடையின் மீது மல்லாத்தி வைத்து, முள்ளைப் பிடுங்க முயற்சித்தார். ஆழமாகவும், முழுமையாகவும் பதிந்திருந்த முள்ளை, பிடுங்க முடியவில்லை.
கையால் அசைக்க அசைக்க, ரத்தம் வந்து, வலி தான் அதிகமாயிற்றே தவிர, முள்ளை எடுக்க முடியவில்லை.
‘முருகா இந்த முள்ளைப் பிடுங்கும் போதே, இவ்வளவு வலிக்கிறதே… உடம்பில் இருந்து, உயிரைப் பிடுங்கும் போது, எவ்வளவு வலி இருக்கும்…’ என்று, கண்ணீர் சிந்தினார் பாம்பன் சுவாமிகள். கண்ணீர் முள்ளின் மீது விழுந்தது.
அதன் காரணமாக, முள், சற்று நெகிழ்ந்து கொடுத்தது. முள்ளைப் பிடுங்கி எறிந்து விட்டு, சுவாமிகள் திரும்பி விட்டார்.
இந்த விஷயத்தை சுவாமிகள், யாரிடமும் சொல்லவில்லை. ஆனால், அடியார் மனம் வருந்த, ஆறுமுகன் பொறுப்பாரா!
அன்றிரவே, தச்சு வேலை செய்யும் ஒருவர் கனவில், கந்தக் கடவுள் தோன்றி, ‘என் அடிமையான அந்த இளைஞனுக்கு, நீ ஒரு பாதக்குறடு (மரத்தாலான பாதுகைகள்)செய்து கொடு…’ என்று, கட்டளையிட்டார்.
மறுநாள், தச்சு வேலை செய்பவர், முருகப் பெருமானின் உத்தரவுப்படியே பாதக்குறடுகள் செய்து வந்து, பாம்பன் சுவாமிகளிடம் தந்து, முருகப் பெருமானின் உத்தரவையும் கூறினார்.
பாம்பன் சுவாமிகளுக்கு மெய் சிலிர்த்தது; அவர், முருகனின் கருணையை எண்ணி உருகினார்.
அடியார்கள் மனம் வருந்த, ஆண்டவன் பொறுக்க மாட்டார் என்பதை, விளக்கும் நிகழ்ச்சி இது.

மே 2 – அட்சய திரிதியை

அட்சய திரிதியை அன்று, ஏதாவது மதிப்புள்ள பொருள் வாங்க வேண்டும் என்று சொல்வர்; இது, வெறும் வார்த்தைக்காக சொல்லப்பட்ட விஷயம் அல்ல!
தங்கம் வாங்க வேண்டுமானால், பெரும் தொகை வேண்டும்; பெரும் தொகை கையில் இருக்க வேண்டுமானால், கடும் உழைப்பு இருக்க வேண்டும். ஆக, இது உழைப்பின் பெருமையை வெளிப்படுத்தும் விழா.
கீதையில் கண்ணன் கூறுகிறான்…
‘முயற்சியுடையவன், வேலையை விருப்பத்துடன் செய்கிறவன், எப்போதும் உழைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறவன்… இவர்களைத் தேடி, மகாலட்சுமி வந்தடைகிறாள்…’ என்கிறார் பகவான்.
உழைப்பை அலட்சியம் செய்து, தெய்வம் கொடுக்கும் என்று காத்திருப்பவனைத் தேடி, செல்வம் வருவதில்லை. அட்சய திரிதியை அன்று, ஒருவர் பத்து சவரன் நகை வாங்குகிறார் என்றால், அதை வாங்குவதற்காக, கடந்த காலத்தில், அவர் பட்டபாடுகளை, அதற்காக அவர் கொடுத்த உழைப்பை எண்ணிப் பார்க்க வேண்டும்.
உழைப்பின் பெருமையை விளக்க இதோ ஒரு புராணக்கதை…
அம்பரீஷன் என்று ஒரு மன்னர் இருந்தார்; சிறந்த விஷ்ணு பக்தர்; ஏகாதசி விரதத்தை தவறாமல் கடைபிடிப்பவர். அறம், நீதி நெறி தவறாமல், தர்மம் குலையாமல், குடிமக்கள் மனம் மகிழும்படி ஆட்சி நடத்தி வந்தார். ஒரு அஸ்வமேத யாகம் செய்வதே குதிரைக் கொம்பான விஷயமாக இருக்கும் போது, இவர், நூறு அஸ்வமேத யாகம் செய்தவர். ஆனாலும், இத்தனை யாகங்கள் செய்து விட்டோம் என்ற கர்வம் அவருக்கு ஏற்பட்டதில்லை. மேலும், அந்த யாகங்களை, அவர் தனக்காகவோ, தன் குடும்பத்துக்காகவோ, நாட்டு மக்களுக்காகவோ செய்யவில்லை. எல்லா பலனும் இறைவனுக்கே என்ற ரீதியில், யாகத்தின் பலனை, விஷ்ணுவிடமே அர்ப்பணித்து விட்டார்.
இதனால், மனம் மகிழ்ந்த விஷ்ணு பகவான், அம்பரீஷனுக்கு தரிசனம் தந்து, சுயநலமில்லாத அவரின் உழைப்பை பாராட்டும் விதமாக, தன் சக்கரத்தையே பரிசாகக் கொடுத்தார். அந்த சக்கரத்தைத் தெய்வமாகக் கருதி, வழிபட்டு வந்தார் அம்பரீஷன். அந்த வழிபாடு தான், இன்றும் சக்கரத்தாழ்வார் வழிபாடாக தொடர்கிறது. அந்த சக்கரமே, பிற்காலத்தில், துர்வாச முனிவர் தந்த கஷ்டத்திலிருந்தும், அம்பரீஷனைப் பாதுகாத்தது.
சரி…எவ்வளவு தான் உழைத்தாலும், கஷ்டப்படுபவர்கள் என்று, ஒரு ரகம் எப்போதுமே இருக்கத்தான் செய்கின்றனர். இவர்களுக்கு அட்சய திரிதியை நன்னாளில், தானம் செய்வது பிரதான கடமை. ஒரு காலத்தில், அட்சய திருநாள் கொண்டாடப்படும் சித்திரை மாத வெயிலில், தயிர்சாதம் தானம் செய்வது மிக உயர்ந்ததாகக் கருதப்பட்டது. இப்போது, கால மாற்றத்திற்கேற்ப கல்வி உதவித்தொகை, உடைகள், மருத்துவ உதவி போன்ற தானங்களைச் செய்யலாம். இவ்வாறு செய்தால், தானம் செய்பவருக்கு புண்ணியம் கிடைக்கும். குடும்பத்தில் செல்வம் தழைத்தோங்கும் என்பது ஐதீகம்.
நன்றாக உழைக்க வேண்டும். உழைப்பால் வரும் செல்வத்தில், நமக்கு தேவையானது போக, மற்றதை தகுதியானவர்களுக்கு தானம் செய்ய வேண்டும். அப்படி செய்தால், அது கடவுளுக்கே செய்தது போல! அவ்வாறு செய்தால், கடவுளின் அருள் கிடைக்கும். அப்போது, எல்லா நாட்களும் நமக்கு அட்சய திருநாள் தான்!

]பிள்ளையார் , முருகன் இருவருமே தமிழ் தெய்வங்கள்தான் …!!!

தமிழ்நாட்டின் தனிப்பட்ட சிறப்பு எங்கு பார்த்தாலும் பிள்ளையார் கோயில்கள் இருப்பதேயாகும். “கோயில்’ என்று பெயர் வைத்து விமானமும் கூரையும் போட்டுக் கட்டடம் எழுப்ப வேண்டும் என்பது கூட இல்லாமல், அரச மரத்தடிகளிலே கூட வானம் பார்க்க அமர்ந்திருக்கும் ஸ்வாமி நமது பிள்ளையார்.
தெருவுக்குத் தெரு ஒரு பிள்ளையார் கோயில், நதிக் கரைகளிலெல்லாம் பிள்ளையார், மரத்தடிகளில் பிள்ளையார் என்றிப்படி இந்தத் தமிழ் தேசம் முழுவதும் அவர் வேறெந்த ஸ்வாமிக்கும் இல்லாத அளவுக்கு இடம் கொண்டு அருள்பாலித்து வருகிறாரர். அவரைப் “பிள்ளையார்’ என்றே அன்போது கூறுவது நம் தமிழ்நாட்டுக்கே உரிய வழக்கம். சர்வலோக மாதா பிதாக்களாகிய பார்வதி பரமேசுவரர்களின் ஜேஷ்ட புத்திரர் அவர். “பிள்ளை’ என்றால் அவரைத்தான் முதலில் சொல்ல வேண்டும். வெறும் “பிள்ளையார்’ என்று சொல்லக்கூடாது என்பதால் மரியாதையாகப் “பிள்ளையார்’ என்று சொல்வது தமிழ்நாட்டுச் சிறப்பு.
தெய்வம் என்று ஒன்று இருந்தால் அது லோகம் பூராவுக்குந்தான். ஆனாலும் அதை “நம்முது’ (நம்முடையது) என்று விசேஷமாகப் பிரித்து வைத்த ப்ரியம் காட்டி உறவு கொண்டாடணும் என்று பக்த மனஸுக்குத் தோன்றுகிறதுண்டு.
ஒவ்வொரு தெய்வத்திடம் இப்படி ஒவ்வொரு ஜனÙமுஹத்திற்கு ஒரு அலாதி பந்துத்வம் இருப்பதுண்டு. தமிழ் மக்களுக்கு ஸுப்ரஹ்மண்ய ஸ்வாமி என்றால் தனியான ஒரு ப்ரியம். முருகன், முருகன் என்று சொல்லி, தமிழ்த் தெய்வம் என்று அவரை இந்த நாட்டுக்கே, பாஷைக்கே உரித்தானவராக முத்ரை குத்தி வைத்துக் கொண்டாடுகிறோம்.
எனக்கென்னவோ அவரை மட்டும் அப்படிச் சொல்லாமல் அவருடைய அண்ணாக்காரரையும் தமிழ்த் தெய்வம் என்று சொல்லணும் என்று (இருக்கிறது)! இளையவரைத் தமிழ்த் தெய்வம் என்று குறிப்பாகச் சொல்ல எவ்வளவு காரணமுண்டோ அவ்வளவு – ஒரு வேளை, அதைவிடக்கூட ஜாஸ்தியாகவே – அண்ணாக்காரரையும் சொல்வதற்கு இருப்பதாக எனக்குத் தோன்றுகிறது. அதனால் – அந்த அண்ணா – தம்பிகளைப் பிரிக்கவேபடாது. சேர்த்துச் சேர்த்தே சொல்லணும், நினைக்கணும், பூஜை பண்ணணும் என்பதாலேயும் – பிள்ளையார், ஸுப்ரஹ்மண்யர் இரண்டு பேரையுமே தமிழ்த் தெய்வங்கள் என்று வைத்தவிட வேண்டுமென்று தோன்றுகிறது. அப்படி ஒரு ரெஸொல்யூஷன் கொண்டு வரப் போகிறேன்! (அது) “பாஸ்’ ஆகணுமே! அதனால் புஷ்டியான காரணம் நிறைய காட்டுகிறேன். யுனானிமஸாகவே பாஸ் பண்ணிவிடுவீர்கள்!
