Seagull Steals Tourist's Camera. Ends Up Capturing Stunning Footage

A tourist holidaying in Spain’s Cies islands got more than he bargained for when a seagull seagull made off with his camera and captured, literally, a bird’s eye view of the coastline.

Now whether the bird wanted to hop onto the selfie bandwagon or just wanted to help the tourists with some incredible footage, its actions have created quite a stir online.

The tourist, YouTube user Martin Lozano, shared a video to tell the world what really transpired between the bird and the GoPro. The video shows the camera lying unattended on a parapet, recording the seagull a few paces away. Seconds later, the bird, sensing its opportunity, steals the camera and flies off with it.

It’s during this flight that it captures some scenic beauty with the still-recording camera.
The bird does its job and eventually returns the camera to its rightful owner and flies off. “You’re welcome, human,” it must have been thinking.

The human, in turn, does his job. He uploaded the video on YouTube for the rest of the world to enjoy. So enjoy you must:

A gentleman who seemed to be recording just a simple tree in a backyard was in for a huge, unexpected surprise. Turns out this ordinary tree is unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

The video shows many birds flocking to it and settling in on the branches. Seconds later the big reveal takes place.

“Children smile up to 40 times more than adults every day,” it says in the video, which has gone viral with over 5.1 million views since it was posted on YouTube on May 11. “It’s the first thing we ever learn to do – before we learn to crawl, walk or talk,” it says.

It’s the work of renowned bodypaint artist Johannes Stötter, who has won a stack of awards for his work, including a world championship in 2012. He recently released the making of Chameleon onto YouTube so we could see it magically come to life:

 

It has been nearly two years since Stotter last hit internet fame with another of his creations on YouTube, The Frog, which is actually pieced together by five women.

” Catherine Destivelle Climbing Solo in Mali…” Incredible and Amazing !!!

This pre-YouTube video is of Catherine Destivelle soloing in Mali. Filmed in 1987, High Magazine commented,

“the film Seo of her soloing on a sandstone cliff in the Mali desert is one that has been seen worldwide and the one clear image that has stuck in the minds of the general public in Britain”.

This was undoubtedly true at the time, and most climbers of a certain generation will have seen this film before, however now that video is ubiquitous across the internet, it is easy to forget such classics as this.

The film examines the local people, the Dogons of Sanga, for whom climbing is part of their everyday life. Catherine is fascinated by these people, and they admire her daring solo climbs.
