Buffalo Sold For Baffling Price … Rs.2.5 Million !!!

Murrah buffaloes in a dairy in Haryana

A farmer in the northern Indian state of Haryana says he has sold a buffalo for what is believed to be record-breaking 2.5 million rupees ($41,000).

Kapoor Singh told the BBC he sold his Murrah buffalo named Lakshmi to a farmer from Andhra Pradesh state.

The Murrah breed of water buffalo is much in demand for its high milk yield and normally costs between 100,000 rupees and 250,000 rupees.

They are highly coveted and their owners take a lot of pride in them.

For the price that Lakshmi was sold for it would be possible to buy a small luxury car.

Mr Singh, who lives in Singhwa Khas village in Hisar district, said he bought Lakshmi for 250,000 rupees ($4,100; £2,650) two years ago.

He said because she was a “special” buffalo – who yielded up to 28 litres of milk every day and won several prizes for producing record amounts – he was able to sell her for 10 times the price he bought her.

“I didn’t want to sell her, but the new owner offered me the price I asked for. He had come last year and offered me 190,000 rupees, but I refused. He liked the buffalo so much that he made a video film on her and showed it in his village,” Mr Singh said.

“I am very happy that I got the price I wanted. I will use the money for my daughter’s marriage.”

Kapoor Singh said Lakshmi will leave her village with her new owner, Rajiv Sarpanch, on Sunday.

Mr Sarpanch has been quoted as telling Hindustan Times newspaper that he is planning to make her participate in Andhra Pradesh’s “best cattle contest” in January next year where the winner will get a kilogram of gold.

“We Have Not Read It “….For A Change Bank Says this …. Not Customer !!!

Generic image

A Russian man has outwitted a bank by sending back a credit card contract with his own, handwritten, amendments to the contract for zero fees and zero interest. Now he’s had a win in court

A MAN who decided to get his own back on a bank which sent him an unsolicited credit card in an ingenious way has had his first win in court.

Dmitry Agarkov decided to write his own small print in a credit card contract and has had his changes upheld in court. He’s now suing Russia’s leading online bank for more than 24 million roubles ($A800,000) in compensation, RT.com reports.

Disappointed by the terms of the unsolicited offer for a credit card from Tinkoff Credit Systems in 2008, Mr Agarkov, 42, from the city of Voronezh, decided to hand write his own credit terms.

The trick was that Agarkov simply scanned the bank’s document and “amended” the small print with his own terms, scribbled in his own handwriting.

He opted for a 0 per cent interest rate and no fees, adding that the customer “is not obliged to pay any fees and charges imposed by bank tariffs.”

The bank didn’t read “the amendments”, as it signed and certified the document, then sent him a credit card.

It took two years before the bank decided to terminate Mr Agarkov’s credit card because of overdue payments.

In 2012, it sued him for 45,000 roubles ($A1500) – an amount that included the remaining balance, fees, and late payment charges, which violated the actual agreement.

The court decided that the agreement Agarkov crafted was valid, and required him to settle only his balance of 19,000 roubles ($A635).

“They signed the documents without looking. They said what usually their borrowers say in court: ‘We have not read it,’ his lawyer said.

Tinkoff founder Oleg Tinkov tweeted: “Our lawyers think, he is going to get not 24 million, but really four years in prison for fraud.”

The next hearing will be in September.

Strange But True !!! A Skyscraper sans Elevator !!!!

The In Tempo skyscraper in Benidorm, Spain. Picture: In Tempo

IT WAS meant to be a striking symbol of hope and prosperity.

But a planning bungle of epic proportions has allegedly left a new skyscraper in Spain without a crucial element – an elevator capable of reaching the top, local news site El Pais reported, claiming to have sighted the building contract.

The 200 metre tall In Tempo building, located in the Spanish holiday spot of Benidorm, was originally meant to be 20 storeys high.

But excited builders decided to extend it to 47 storeys. Only problem was, they allegedly forgot to redesign the elevator system to account for this, meaning the current design sees lifts able to reach level 20, beyond that there’s only stairs. There just isn’t space for a redesigned elevator.

The building was due to be completed in 2009 but remains 94 per cent finished. The twin towers contain 269 units.

It dwarfs neighbouring high-rises, which have popped up amid a decade-long building bonanza.

The architects working on the project have reportedly resigned.

Was Airtravel More Fun In 1930s !!!!!

Picture: Qantas

SEVENTY five years ago, there was great excitement when Qantas launched its first Short Empire Flying Boat service between Rose Bay and Singapore.

In what’s a bizarre sight to today’s flyers, passengers climbed the wings of the plane and stood on top, as the aircraft sat in the water.

How things have changed …

The fascinating image is part of a collection of historic photographs Qantas has shared on social media sites to celebrate the 75th anniversary of its original Short Empire Flying Boat service.

They provide an insight into what flying was like in the early days of commercial air travel and leave us wondering, was flying more fun – and glamorous – back then?

Sure, it took three days to fly between Sydney’s first international airport at Rose Bay, to Singapore’s Kallang Airport. But what an adventure.

There were overnight stops in Townsville, Darwin and Surabaya, Indonesia.

The flight would have been made more bearable by the fact there were just 15 passengers on each flight, so there was plenty of room. Plus there were large windows and huge seats.

The Short Empire flying boat service was replaced in 1943 by the long-range Catalina flying boat. The airline began with joy flights in 1920.

What a Cool Idea To Beat The Heat !!!!

China is in the midst of a brutal heatwave right now, but some parents have found a way to help their little ones beat the heat: watermelon.

Only, they’re not eating them – they’re wearing them.

A trend started in July in the Wenzhou region of the country when photos of a kid dressed in a watermelon suit started making the rounds on the Internet.

High fashion: The watermelon suit trend popped up in July when this photo went viral in China
Keeping cool: Fans of the watermelon suits say they're an eco-friendly way for babies to beat the heat

Variety: People have made watermelon suits to resemble warrior outfits, armor, hula skirts and even bikinis

The reaction to the suits has been relatively positive across China, with people commenting on various blog sites about how the suits are an ‘eco-friendly’ way to cool down kids in the blistering heat.

One potential problem, however, is that babies have very sensitive skin. And while watermelon allergies are rare, the juice from the watermelon against a baby’s skin could cause some irritation.

Another potential issue is wearing the suit for too long. Watermelons rinds are moist, and as they rot they could breed bacteria and germs.

Message For The Day….Have Your Love Fixed and Devoted on GOD …

Become like the flute, a hollow reed, straight, light, with no substance to hinder His breath. Then He will come and pick you up and breathe divine music through you, playing upon you with a delicate touch. In His hand the infinitesimal will be transmuted into the Infinite. Intensify the love that is present within you. It is a sacred gift. Expand your love so that all beings can share in it. Your love must be such that if someone around you is sad, you feel sad and if they are happy, you feel that happiness. Have your love fixed and devoted on the Lord, whether your petty wishes get fulfilled or not. Never let go, under any circumstances, this precious treasure – your Love for God.

Hungry Birds Turn into Angry Birds !!!

Photographer Giulio Zanni went to Alaska specifically to get shots of bald eagles – but he didn’t count on capturing a truly awesome mid-air display of two fully grown adults fighting for food.
With their wings outstretched and their deadly talons poised to grasp and claw, neither of them giving any quarter, the two birds are locked in battle as they tumble through the sky. Mr Zanni’s pictures perfectly capture the creatures in all their magnificence and glory.
The fight began after the larger of the two birds had plucked a fish from the water off the coast of Homer, intending to take it back to its nest on dry land.

Wham: Without warning an eagle flies straight into a larger bird and begins a furious fight over a fish. Photographer Giulio Zanni managed to capture the action

But the smaller bird had other ideas and plotted an intercept course. It flew straight into the larger bird and attempted to rip the fish out of its grasp.

What followed was a blur of beaks, wings and talons as the two fought it out in the air.

Not far away, in a small boat with his camera trained at the sky, Mr Zanni spotted the action unfolding above him.

Despite being transfixed by the display, he managed to get off a few shots before the smaller bird realised that its attack was hopeless and broke off, disappearing behind some nearby rocks.

The victorious bird took its catch to ground and began swallowing it whole, clearly not waiting around for any other chancers to come along and try to steal its meal.

Mr Zanni, 47, who lives in Bosnia-Herzegovina but is originally from Italy, had travelled to Alaska to take wildlife pictures – and said it was well worth the trip.

He said: ‘I was on a small boat waiting for the eagles to fly down from the rocks. An eagle caught a fish from the water and then another one came from nowhere and the pair started fighting in the sky.

Eagle

‘You could hear the noise of the two big birds’ wings impacting against each other and flapping really fast.

‘After some skirmishes, with the eagles hanging to each other by the talons, one of the two gave up and disappeared.

‘Bald eagles are known to fight like this but it is very rare to see such action.

‘It was a fantastic experience and these pictures have a very special place in my photography archive.’
