God is beyond all qualities. He is blemishless, steady and selfless (Nirmalam, Nischalam and Niswartham). He is beyond time and space. Don’t try to confine God to just one form. Install the principle that God is the Divine Soul (Atma) present within you and contemplate on Him. In every step, everything you see, God is present. God is the current that makes fans work; God is the mike that absorbs the sound, and the speakers that help others listen. If you put off the main switch, all the lights will go out. When you forget Divinity, you forget everything. Love God deeply, from within. Love God and you will be able to conquer the demons of bad qualities and also develop the society. Only a person with character can bring development in society. Only the one with love for God can lead a life of morality. Morality is truly a life principle. Without morality there is no community.

மாயாஜால, மந்திரக் கதைகள் எழுதுவதிலும் தனிச்சிறப்பு பெற்றவராக விளங்கியவர் இவர். பின்னர், முத்து காமிக்ஸ் நிறுவனத்தில் பதிப்பாசிரியராகவும் பணிபுரிந்தார். அந்நிறுவனத்திலிருந்து வெளியே வந்த பின்னர் மாயாவி என்ற பெயரில் காமிக்ஸ் புத்தகங்களை வெளியிட்டார். சிறுவர்களுக்கான கதைப் படங்கள் கற்பனையைத் தூண்டும் விதத்தில் அமைய வேண்டும் என்ற கொள்கை கொண்ட இவர், முழு வண்ணத்திலான காமிக்ஸ் புத்தகங்களையே உருவாக்கினார்.
தமிழ் காமிக்ஸ் உலகில் குறிப்பிடத் தக்க சாதனையைச் செய்த இவர், காமிக்ஸ் ரசிகர்களின் உலகுக்கு வெளியே அறிமுகமே ஆகாதவர். இவரைப் பற்றியும் இவரது காமிக்ஸ் புத்தகம்பற்றியும் சமீபத்தில் தெரியவரக் காரணம், அமெரிக்காவில் வசிக்கும் இவரது பேரன் மதன்ராஜ் மெய்ஞானம்தான்.
இவர் பணிநிமித்தமாக கலிபோர்னியாவில் சில ஆண்டுகளாக வசித்துவருகிறார். திரைப்படத் துறையில் ஆர்வமுள்ள இவர், குறும்படங்களில் உதவி இயக்குநராகவும் பணிபுரிகிறார். ஒரு விடுமுறை நாளில் இவர் ‘டோர்சே புக்ஸ்’ என்ற அமேசான் இணையதள விற்பனை அங்காடியில் இருக்கும் புத்தகங்களைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்.
அப்போது ஒரு புத்தகம் இவரது பார்வையில் பட்டது. கண்களில் ஆனந்தக் கண்ணீர் பொங்க, அந்தப் புத்தகத்தை உடனடியாக வாங்கிவிட்டார் மதன்ராஜ்.
‘ஸ்ரீ வெங்கடேசுவரர் புராணச் சித்திரங்கள்’ என்ற பெயர் கொண்ட அந்தப் புத்தகம், தமிழில் அதிக முறை பதிப்பிக்கப்பட்ட காமிக்ஸ் புத்தகம், அதிகம் விற்பனையான காமிக்ஸ் புத்தகம், அதிக மொழிகளில் மொழிமாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்ட தமிழ் காமிக்ஸ் புத்தகம் என்று பல்வேறு சிறப்புகளைப் பெற்றது.
எஸ். கணேசன் என்ற ஓவியர் வரைந்த வண்ண ஓவியங்களுடன் 1971-ல் இரண்டு ரூபாய்க்கு விற்கப்பட்ட அந்தப் புத்தகத்தை 40 ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பின்னர் மதன்ராஜ் வாங்கியபோது அதன் விலை பல ஆயிரம் ரூபாய். காமிக்ஸ் புத்தகங்களின் பொக்கிஷ மதிப்பு எத்தகையது என்பதை அறிய இந்த ஒரு தகவல் போதும்!

உத்திரமேரூரில் அய்யர் பொட்டலக் கடை என்ற பெயரில் இனிப்பு, கார பட்சணங்கள் விற்பனை செய்யும் சின்னஞ்சிறு கடைக்கு, கடல் கடந்தும் ரசிகர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள் என்றால் நம்ப முடிகிறதா?
காலத்தின் புழுதி படிந்து காட்சியளிக்கிறது கடை.
கடையில் காலையிலேயே கூட்டம் களைகட்டி விடுகிறது. காலை 11 மணிக்குள் மிக்சர், பூண்டு சேவு முதலிய அயிட்டங்கள் விற்றுத் தீர்ந்துவிடுகின்றன. மாலை 4.30 மணிக்குள் மொத்த சரக்கும் காலியாகி கடை பூட்டப்பட்டுவிடுகிறது.
“இன்னிக்கு இவ்வளவுதான்னு பகவான் படியளந்திருக்கான். இது போதும் எனக்கு” என்று கூறும் கடை உரிமையாளர் தன் பெயரைச் சொல்ல மறுக்கிறார்.
“என் பேரு எதுக்கு? பெயரில்லை ஸ்வாமி எனக்கு. பொட்டலக் கடை அய்யர்தான் என் பேரு, இந்த வட்டாரத்துல யாரக் கேட்டாலும் சொல்லுவாங்களே. என் அப்பா பேரும் இதுதான், தாத்தா பேரும் இதுதான். 60 வருஷமா அய்யர் பொட்டலக் கடை என்கிற பேர்ல கடை நடத்திக்கிட்டுவர்றோம்.”
சுவையும் தரமும் தனித்தன்மையும் மிகுந்த இவர் கடையின் இனிப்பு, கார வகைகளுக்கு கலெக்டர், நீதிபதிகள், டாக்டர்கள், தொழிலதிபர்கள், பெரிய பெரிய சங்கீத வித்வான்கள், கலைஞர்கள் எல்லாம் வாடிக்கையாளராக இருப்பது இது வெறும் கடை மட்டுமல்ல, கிராமியக் கலாச்சாரத்தின் ஓர் அங்கம் என்பதையே உணர்த்துகிறது.
“எங்க கடையில பட்சணம் வாங்கிச் சாப்பிடுற குழந்தைக்கு எந்த விதமான வயிற்றுக் கோளாறும் வரக் கூடாது. கலப்படம் கிடையாது, தரம்தான் எங்க கடையின் ‘தாரக மந்திரம்’. ஆனாலும், அந்தக் காலத்து பட்சணத்தின் தினுசே வேற சார். இப்போ இருக்க விலைவாசியில தரத்தைக் காப்பாத்த படாதபாடு படவேண்டியிருக்கு” எனும் பொட்டலக் கடை அய்யருக்கு தற்போது 80 வயதாகிறது. தாடியும் மீசையுமாக ஒரு யோகிபோலக் காட்சிதருகிறார்.
“அந்தக் காலத்தில் பட்சணம் செஞ்சபோது ஒரு மூட்டை கடலைப் பருப்பு (அதாவது 64 படி) விலை ரூபாய் 56, ஒரு டின் கடலை எண்ணெய் (16 கிலோ) ரூபாய் 18, ஒரு வீசை பட்டாணி 13 அணா, ஒரு வீசை மந்தாரை இலை பத்தணா, ஒரு வீசை சக்கரை (1,400 கிராம்) 13 அணா” பழைய விலைவாசியை நினைவிலிருந்து சொல்லிக்கொண்டே போகிறார்.
பட்சணக் கடையின் உட்புறமுள்ள வீட்டுக்குள் அழைத்துக் காண்பித்தார். நீண்ட முற்றத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியைத் தடுத்து, அதிலே நட்டுவைத்திருக்கும் ருத்திராட்ச மரங்களைக் காண்பித்தார். 150 அடி வரை வளரக்கூடிய இம்மரங்களைத் தரிசிப்பது 100 கோயில்களை தரிசிப்பதற்கு இணையாகும் என்று சொல்லிப் பெருமைப்படுகிறார்.
வீடெங்கும் பட்சணத் தயாரிப்பின் நறுமணத்தோடு பக்தி மணமும் கமழ்கிறது. கூடம் ஏறக்குறைய ஒரு தியான மண்டபம்போல் இருக்கிறது. நூற்றுக் கணக்கான சாமி படங்கள், சிலைகள். எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் மாலைகள்.
பேச்சின் நடுவே டபரா டம்ளர்களில் காப்பி வந்தது. பிரமாதமான காப்பி. “எங்களுக்குப் பேராசை கிடையாது, ஸ்வாமி இவ்வளவு குடுத்திருக்கார் பேரப்பிள்ளைகளோடு சந்தோஷமாக, திருப்தியாக இருக்கோம், இது போதும்”
-தூணில் சாய்ந்துகொண்டு மூக்குத்தி மினுங்க மாமி சொன்னார்.
அந்தத் திருப்தியையும் சந்தோஷத்தையும்தான் அந்தத் தம்பதியர் தங்கள் வாடிக்கையாளர்களுக்குப் பொட்டலமாகக் கட்டிக் கொடுக்கிறார்கள் என்பதில் சந்தேகமேயில்லை.

சென்னைவாசிகளுக்கு ஒரு சின்ன மழை கொடுத்த சந்தோஷத்தை வேறு எது ஒன்றாலும் நேற்றைக்குக் கொடுத்திருக்க முடியுமா என்று தெரியவில்லை. வெப்பத்தில் புழுங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்த மக்களுக்கு அவ்வளவு இதமான ஆறுதலைத் தந்திருக்கிறது மழை.
சென்னை நகரம் வெப்பத்தில் தகிக்க வெயிலும் வெப்பநிலையும் உச்சபட்ச அளவை நோக்கி நகர்வது மட்டும் காரணம் இல்லை. வெப்பத்தை எதிர்கொள்ளும் ஆதாரங்களையும் வேகவேகமாக அழித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறோம் அல்லது அந்த அழிவை வேடிக்கை பார்த்துக்கொண்டே கடக்கிறோம் என்பதும் முக்கியமான காரணம். சென்னையில் மட்டும் அல்ல; நாடு முழுவதும் இதுதான் நிலை.
ஐம்பதாண்டுகளுக்கு முன்கூட எவ்வளவு பசுமையான, ரம்மியமான நகரமாக இருந்தது சென்னை! அதற்கு ஆதாரமாக சாலைகளின் இருபுறங்களிலும் கவிந்து நிழல் தந்த அந்த மரங்கள் எங்கே? ஒவ்வோர் ஆண்டும் வளர்ச்சியின் பெயராலும் பல்வேறு திட்டங்களின் பெயராலும் ஆயிரக் கணக்கான மரங்களை வெட்டித்தள்ளுகிறோமே, பதிலுக்கு எத்தனை மரக்கன்றுகளை நடுகிறோம்? சரி, ஒரு சின்ன மழை இவ்வளவு சந்தோஷத்தை அள்ளிக்கொண்டு வருகிறதே, அதற்காகவாவது உரிய கவனத்தை அளிக்கிறோமா, அதையாவது நாம் பயன்படுத்திக்கொள்கிறோமா?
நம்மை உய்விப்பதற்காக இந்த மழைதான் எத்தனை நீண்ட பயணத்தை ஒவ்வோர் ஆண்டும் மேற்கொள்கிறது? பசிபிக் பெருங்கடலின் தென் பகுதியிலிருந்து புறப்படும் காற்று வடக்கு நோக்கி 8,000 கி.மீ. பயணித்து ஆசியாவை உரிய காலத்தில் அடைகிறது. அப்படி வரும் வழியில் ஈரப்பதத்தை உறிஞ்சி எடுத்து வருகிறது. பருவ மழை சரியாகப் பொழிய பசிபிக் பெருங்கடலிலிருந்து வரும் காற்று ஒரு காரணம் என்றால், இந்தியாவில் அடிக்கும் வெயில் அடுத்த காரணம். வெப்பக்காற்று மண்டிய இந்தியக் கடலோரம் வழியாக நீராவி மிகுந்த குளிர்காற்று இந்தியா முழுக்கப் பரவுகிறது. சாதாரண ஆண்டுகளில் பருவக்காற்று நான்கு மாதப் பயணத்துக்குப் பிறகு கேரளக் கடற்கரையை ஜூன் மாதத்தில் அடைகிறது. இந்தப் பருவமழைதான் நாட்டின் நூற்றுக் கணக்கான பெரிய நீர்த்தேக்கங்களையும் பல்லாயிரக் கணக்கான ஏரிகளையும் லட்சக் கணக்கான குளங்களையும் நிரப்புகிறது. இந்தத் தண்ணீர்தான் குடிநீருக்கும் பாசனத்துக்கும் மின்சார உற்பத்திக்கும் ஆதாரமாகிறது. இவ்வளவு முக்கியத்துவம் மிக்க மழையை நகரவாசிகள் எப்படி அணுகுகிறோம்?
சென்னை உள்ளிட்ட பெரும்பாலான நகரங்கள் குடிநீருக்கு வெளியூர் நீர்நிலைகளையே நம்பியிருக்கின்றன. நிலத்தடி நீராதாரம் நாளுக்கு நாள் கீழே போய்க்கொண்டிருக்கிறது. தண்ணீரைக் காசு கொடுத்து வாங்கும் இந்த நிலையில்கூட நீராதாரத்தைப் பற்றிக் கவலைப்படவில்லை என்றால், எப்போது கவலைப்படப்போகிறோம்?
பொதுநலனை விடுவோம்… சுயநலம் சார்ந்தாவது இதை யோசிக்க வேண்டுமா, வேண்டாமா? சொந்த வீடு வைத்திருப்பவர்கள் ஏனைய விஷயங்களில் காட்டும் அக்கறை ஏன் மழைநீர் சேகரிப்பில் எதிரொலிக்கவில்லை? வழிகாட்ட வேண்டிய, வலியுறுத்த வேண்டிய பொறுப்பு அரசுக்கு இருக்கிறது என்பது உண்மைதான். ஆனால், அதையெல்லாம் தாண்டி இது நம் ஒவ்வொருவரின் கடமை. மரம் வளர்ப்போம், மழைத்துளிகளை மண்ணுக்குள் சேகரிப்போம்!

An individual, who had a large family, sat down for meditation in his home. As one child or another was disturbing him, he locked himself in a room. But even now he was disturbed by frequent knocks on the door by someone or other. So he betook himself to a forest and began meditating under a tree. But here he was troubled by the droppings from the birds on the tree. Disgusted with the disturbances at home and in the forest he felt that the best thing was to end his existence. Unfortunately, he was unable to realise that God was present in everything and cultivate forbearance. He indeed exemplifies the devotee in whom Rajo guna is predominant. To be able to concentrate wherever one may be is the mark of the devotee with satwic quality. Such a devotee will be able to practise concentration whether in the midst of a crowd or alone. Any disturbance will be looked upon as coming from God and be accepted.
The amazing thing about animals is… basically everything. Some are powerful, others are sneaky, and then some are just flat out majestic. But they all have one thing in common: an instinct to survive. And the way they survive is sometimes so perfect that you can’t help but be in awe.

Astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS) can see as many as 16 sunrises and sunsets in a 24-hour period.
But on some occasions, the location of the station means the sun never sets at all, providing stunning views for the crew on board.
Now, Nasa astronaut Reid Wiseman has revealed this incredible sight from orbit, in the first ever Vine video to be sent from space.
The timelapse condenses a 92-minute orbit into the span of around six seconds showing the space station hurtling around the planet at 17,500 mph (27,600 km/h).
This marks the barrier between light and dark on the surface of the Earth.
In this scenario, something known as the ‘beta angle’ increases. This is the imaginary line between the sun and the path of the ISS around Earth.
Writing in the Weather Centre blog, Tony Rice explained that as the beta angle gets higher, the time the ISS is in sunlight also increases.
The sun never sets because the space station’s orbit comes into alignment with the day and night terminator line. This marks the barrier between light and dark on the surface of the Earth

Previous space shuttles would enter something known as a ‘barbeque mode’ which would cause them to do slow barrel rolls to avoid overheating.
On the ISS, an Active Thermal Control System transfers heat through to large radiators extending under the station that can then be released into space.

‘1st Vine from space! Single Earth orbit. Sun never sets flying parallel w/terminator line,’ Wiseman explained in the clip, which he shared over the weekend.
Vine is a mobile service that creates short looping videos which are six seconds or less. So far, Wiseman’s Vine has gained over 4,000 likes and nearly 2,000 retweets.
The 38-year-old from Baltimore is currently serving as flight engineer aboard the International Space Station for Expedition 41.
The last time Twitter saw a space ‘first’ was when astronaut Mike Massimino sent the first tweet from orbit in 2009.
