Who is The Best Person ? ….

A wise man presented a young boy with a set of three small dolls. The boy was not amused.

“Am I a girl that you give me dolls?” he asked.

“This is a gift for you, as I see that you are going to become a great man in future” said the man. “If you look carefully, you’ll see a hole in the ear of each doll.”

“So?”

The wise man handed him a piece of string.

“Pass it through each doll,” he said.

Intrigued, the boy picked up the first doll and put the string into the ear. It came out from the other ear.

“This is one type of person,” said the man. “Whatever you tell him, comes out from the other ear. He doesn’t retain anything.”

The boy put the string into the second doll. It came out from the mouth.“This is the second type of person,” said the man. “Whatever you tell him, he tells everybody else.”

The boy picked up the third doll and repeated the process. The string did not reappear from anywhere else.“This is the third type of person,” said the man. “Whatever you tell him is locked up within him. It never comes out.”

“What is the best type of person?” asked the boy.The man handed him a fourth doll, in answer. When the boy put the string into the doll, it came out from the other ear.“Do it again,” said the wise man. The boy repeated the process. This time the string came out from the mouth. When he put the string in a third time, it did not come out at all.“This is the best type of person,” said the wise man.

“To be trustworthy, A man must know when not to listen, when to remain silent and when to speak out.”

Peace… An Art of Remaining Calm in the midst of Noise !!!

” What is The Meaning Of ‘ Equipoise’ ? …”

Another interesting episode as narrated by SriMatam Balu mama.

”CAN YOU NOTICE ANY TRACES OF SADNESS/”

SriMatam, camp in Ilaiyaaththaankudi.

A Government officer, along with his friends( four or five) was proceeding to Ilaiyaththankudi. They were conversing among themselves. In between many topics, came that of Mahaswamikal.

” Periaval knows Samskrit well…”
“He also knows Tamizh, Telugu and Kannada..”
He knows only a few words in English; may have a little working knowledge..”
when we talk, if some English words pop up, He will understand..”

They reached the camp, and were waiting outside the room where Periava was staying. After ten minutes, Periava came out. surrounding Him were a lot of devotees, who were well versed in English, and Periava was talking to them.

“In every language, there are certain peculiar words. Such words can not be translated in other languages that easily. In ENGLISH language, there is a word called “EQUIPOISE”. Can you tell me the meaning of that word? ..”

Each one gave his own explanation but not one word could convey the exact meaning of that word.

Periava saw our Govt. officer and his friends and asked them if they knew.

Our Govt. officer sweated profusely. He tried to explain
something but failed in his attempt.

“EQUIPOISE” means “MENTAL EQUANIMITY”—-said Periava .
Every one was stunned!. He diverted the talk to some other topic. He didn’t give room for the others to feel bad..

After He walked some distance, HE stopped in the centre of the hall..

At some distance, an old lady was sitting, and with her eyes closed, was doing some Japam.

“How does that lady look?”—asked Periava.

” Very calm, quiet, and without any worries in her mind…” answered our friends.

“Do you know, who she is?”—asked Periava.

Nobody answered.

” There was a great writer, by name K.S.Venkataramani. He has written a lot of books.KANDAN, The Patriot, MURUGAN, The Tiller( I have read them too!) are all famous. In these novels the rural setting is very natural.

” He brought a French ‘Thathva Gnani’ by name Paul Brunton to Thiruvannamalai, and brought him to me also. He had a very good bonding with our ‘THATHVAM’

“This couple had a son. K.S.V. passed away. The son is in mental hospital.”

” She doesn’t have any friends, or relatives, no money, nothing, but mountains of sadness! Can you see any trace of those worries on her face?”

” That stage is called “EQUIPOISE”!

Where did Periava do M.A. in English?

“Vaak Dhevatha lives in His tongue!

Message For the Day…” Do Not Get Carried Away by Pain or Pleasure …”

Penance does not mean retiring to the forest and living on fruits and tubers. In fact such a life can be called a life of dullness (thamas), not penance (thapas). True penance lies in controlling one’s emotions, thoughts, words and deeds arising out of Sathwic,Rajasic and Thamasic qualities. You should contemplate on God at all times and achieve harmony of thought, word and deed. A noble person is one whose thoughts, words and deeds are in complete harmony (Manasyekam Vachasyekam Karmanyekam Mahatmanam). Do not be carried away by pain or pleasure. The Gita teaches that you should be even-minded in happiness or sorrow, gain or loss, victory or defeat. You should discharge your duty with utmost sincerity and serve society without any expectation of reward. Such even-mindedness and desireless state is true penance.

Amazing ” Amazon ” !!!

NEEDLE in a Haystick ???…. Dont worry we know where it is !!!!…. AMAZON ….

As the world’s largest online retailer, Amazon needs somewhere to put all of those products. The solution? Giant warehouses. Eighty to be exact. Strategically located near key shipping hubs around the world. The warehouses themselves are massive, with some over 1.2 million square feet in size (111,484 sq m). And at the heart of this global operation are people (over 65,000 of them), and a logistics system known as chaotic storage.
Chaotic storage is like organized confusion. It’s an organic shelving system without permanent areas or sections. That means there is no area just for books, or a place just for televisions (like you might expect in a retail store layout). The product’s characteristics and attributes are irrelevant. What’s important is the unique barcode associated with every product that enters the warehouse.
Every single shelf space inside an Amazon warehouse has a barcode. And every incoming product that requires storage is assigned a specific barcode that matches the shelf space in which it will be stored. This allows free space to be filled quickly and efficiently. At the heart of the operation is a sophisticated database that tracks and monitors every single product that enters/leaves the warehouse and keeps a tally on every single shelf space and whether it’s empty or contains a product.
There are several key advantages to the chaotic storage system. First is flexibility. With chaotic storage, freed-up space can be refilled immediately. Second is simplicity. New employees don’t need to learn where types of products are located. They simply need to find the storage shelf within the warehouse. You don’t need to know what the product is, just where it is. Lastly is optimization. Amazon must handle millions and millions of orders. That means that at any given moment there is a long list of products that need to be ‘picked’ from the shelves and prepared for shipment. Since there is a database that knows every product required for shipment and the location of each product inside the warehouse, an optimized route can be provided to employees responsible for fulfilment.
Since Amazon deals with such a wide variety of products there are a few exceptions to the rule. Really fast-moving articles do not adhere to the same storage system since they enter and leave the warehouse so quickly. Really bulky and heavy products still require separate storage areas and perishable goods are not ideal for obvious reasons.
In this storage system a wide variety of products can be found located next to each other. A necklace could be located beside a DVD and underneath a set of power tools. This arbitrary placement can even help with accuracy as it makes mix-ups less likely when picking orders for shipment. Overall it’s a fascinating system that at its core is powered by a complex database yet run by a simple philosophy. It’s Chaotic Storage. There’s no better way to put it 🙂

Message for the Day…” Master the Mind and Be a Mastermind …”

All spiritual practices (Sadhana) will go in vain if you do not know your true identity. Instead of asking others, “Who are you?” ask yourself, “Who am I?” We say, “This is my book, this is my tumbler.” Then, “Who am I? The feeling of ‘my’ is illusion (maya). All this ‘mine’ is matter; they are negative. You think you are the master of this material world. Master the mind and be a mastermind! Make an effort to know your true identity. To know this, you should first give up body attachment. When I say this is ‘my handkerchief’, I am separate from the handkerchief. Similarly, when I say this is ‘my body’, I am separate from the body. When I say, ‘my mind’ it means I am separate from my mind. Then who am I? Constant enquiry on these lines would lead you to self realisation.

Sathya Sai Baba

Message for the Day…” You will Experience Divinity Only When…”

People get carried away by the body and forget the Divinity within. Have strong faith in God. Do not have faith in this body, which is temporary. Body is like a water bubble, mind is like a mad monkey. Don’t follow the body, don’t follow the mind. Follow your conscience. That is the principle of the Divine Self (Atma). You will experience Divinity only when you follow your conscience. Love everybody, but do not trust anybody. You have to repose your trust only in God. What is the reason? Why should you not trust others? It is because Man is impermanent. God expects only love. You can cultivate love easily. Love is within you, develop it. You have to share this love with everybody. Love even the one who hates you. To harm a person who harmed you is nothing great. Real greatness lies in loving even the person who harmed you.
