The Corona Fire Department is working hard to battle a wildfire that started Thursday about 90 miles away from Los Angeles.
The department has posted some photos of its efforts to its Facebook page, including this incredible shot of a DC-10 air tanker flying over a residential area.
The plane is commonly used to fight wildfires.

China is in the midst of a brutal heatwave right now, but some parents have found a way to help their little ones beat the heat: watermelon.
Only, they’re not eating them – they’re wearing them.
A trend started in July in the Wenzhou region of the country when photos of a kid dressed in a watermelon suit started making the rounds on the Internet.
The reaction to the suits has been relatively positive across China, with people commenting on various blog sites about how the suits are an ‘eco-friendly’ way to cool down kids in the blistering heat.
One potential problem, however, is that babies have very sensitive skin. And while watermelon allergies are rare, the juice from the watermelon against a baby’s skin could cause some irritation.
Another potential issue is wearing the suit for too long. Watermelons rinds are moist, and as they rot they could breed bacteria and germs.

Photographer Giulio Zanni went to Alaska specifically to get shots of bald eagles – but he didn’t count on capturing a truly awesome mid-air display of two fully grown adults fighting for food.
With their wings outstretched and their deadly talons poised to grasp and claw, neither of them giving any quarter, the two birds are locked in battle as they tumble through the sky. Mr Zanni’s pictures perfectly capture the creatures in all their magnificence and glory.
The fight began after the larger of the two birds had plucked a fish from the water off the coast of Homer, intending to take it back to its nest on dry land.
But the smaller bird had other ideas and plotted an intercept course. It flew straight into the larger bird and attempted to rip the fish out of its grasp.
What followed was a blur of beaks, wings and talons as the two fought it out in the air.
Not far away, in a small boat with his camera trained at the sky, Mr Zanni spotted the action unfolding above him.
Despite being transfixed by the display, he managed to get off a few shots before the smaller bird realised that its attack was hopeless and broke off, disappearing behind some nearby rocks.
The victorious bird took its catch to ground and began swallowing it whole, clearly not waiting around for any other chancers to come along and try to steal its meal.
Mr Zanni, 47, who lives in Bosnia-Herzegovina but is originally from Italy, had travelled to Alaska to take wildlife pictures – and said it was well worth the trip.
He said: ‘I was on a small boat waiting for the eagles to fly down from the rocks. An eagle caught a fish from the water and then another one came from nowhere and the pair started fighting in the sky.
‘You could hear the noise of the two big birds’ wings impacting against each other and flapping really fast.
‘After some skirmishes, with the eagles hanging to each other by the talons, one of the two gave up and disappeared.
‘Bald eagles are known to fight like this but it is very rare to see such action.
‘It was a fantastic experience and these pictures have a very special place in my photography archive.’

தஞ்சைக் கிராமமொன்றில் ஸ்ரீசரணர்கள் தங்கியிருந்த போது கரும்பு அறுவடையாகி, நிறையக் கட்டுக்கள் ஸ்ரீமடத்திற்கு ஸமர்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தன.
கரும்புக் கட்டைப் பார்த்த ஒரு குழந்தை தனக்கு வேண்டுமென்று அழ ஆரம்பித்தது. குழந்தையின் பெற்றோர் ஸ்ரீசரணாளிடம் அதற்குக் கணை, குலைக்கட்டி முதலியன இருந்ததால் கரும்பு தருவதற்கில்லை என்றனர்.
ஸ்ரீசரணர் அவர்களைக் கையமர்த்தினார். குழந்தையிடம் ஒரு கரும்பு கொடுக்கப் பணித்தார்.
“நம்ம மடத்து ஆனை நீ பாத்திருக்கியோ? ஒனக்கு அது ரொம்ப இஷ்டந்தானே?” என்று குழந்தையைக் கேட்டார்.
“பாத்திருக்கேனே! எனக்கு ஆனை-ன்னா ரொம்ப இஷ்டமாச்சே!”
“பூஜைக்கு அது வரும். அப்போ கரும்பை அதுக்குக் குடுத்துடறயா? அது மளுக்கு மளுக்குனு முறிச்சுத் தின்னுமே? பாத்தா ரொம்ப வேடிக்கையாயிருக்குமே!”
“அது என்னெ ஒண்ணும் பண்ணாதா?”
“பண்ணாது, பண்ணாது. நான் ஒன் பக்கத்துலயே இருந்துண்டு பாத்துக்கறேன்.”
“ஆனா ஸரி.”
அப்படியே ஆனை வர, ஸ்ரீசரணர் அருகிருந்த தைரியத்தில் குழந்தை ஆசை ஆசையாக அதற்குக் கரும்பைத் தூக்க முடியாமல் தூக்கி – அல்லது இழுத்து வந்து கொடுக்க; அது ‘ஆவ்ரி, ஆவ்ரி’ என்று ஆனந்தமாக முறித்து விழுங்க, அதைவிட ஆனந்தமாகக் குழந்தை முழுக் கரும்பும் தன்னாலேயே தனக்கு நஷ்டமானதைக் கருதாது ஆனந்திக்க – கொடுத்த – கொடை பெற்ற அவ்விரு ஜீவன்களின் ஆனந்தமும் சேர்ந்து கரும்பிதயரின் முகத்தில் பிரகாசித்தது.
தானே அநுபவித்து நுகராமல் பிறருக்கு ஈந்து அதனாலேயே நுகருமாறு ஈசாவாஸ்ய மறைமுடி கூறும் அந்தத் தியாக நுகர்ச்சியின்பத்தை ஒரு சிறு குழந்தை பெறச் செய்து விட்டார், பெருமனத்தர்!

There is no point in distributing the essence of spirituality (Adhyatma rasa) to underfed and weak people; give them food (Anna rasa) first, make them strong enough to entertain strong beliefs and contain strong ideals. Physical hunger must first be appeased by simple and pure (Sathwik) food. Then the repetition of the Name of the Lord must be undertaken; it can be any name that appeals to you the most. Do not treat the Name lightly. Respect it even if you hear it from the lips of a beggar, who uses it to procure alms. Though the person who utters the Name is bad or though his motive in uttering it may not be noble, do not ill treat the Name for its purity can never be harmed. Thank them for reminding you of the Lord and go your way.
Picture this inward journey as walking through a four storied building to get to the top – the ground floor being the union with God through action (Karma Yoga), and the other floors being Devotion, Wisdom and Detachment (Bhakthi, Jnana and Vairagya). When it is just a nascent fruit, it is karma. That is, all are capable of the activity, and so it is the first step in spirituality as well. When it matures and is rendered free from egoism and greed, it becomes worship, and so, it leads one onto the second floor, Bhakthi. When it is ripe and sweet, that is to say, when the devotee achieves complete self-surrender, then it is the acquisition of Jnana (Wisdom). When the fruit drops from the tree, it marks full detachment (Vairagya); the fourth floor of God’s mansion is then reached.
A pilot has had a narrow escape after walking away from a crashed plane with nothing more than a grazed thumb.
Alan Bray, 59, was left trapped and hanging by his harness in the cockpit for 40 minutes in the small two-seater plane, which plummeted into hedgerows after what is believed to be an engine failure.
The experienced pilot was forced to attempt a crash landing in a field at Pastures Farm, near the village of Loxley after he realised he had encountered problems.

After briefly touching down, the blue and white plane smashed through a fence and on to a private road, before flipping over on its nose and into the hedgerow – held into position only by an electric line.
Apart from a ‘bloody thumb’, Mr Bray, who has been flying for ten years, suffered no serious injuries in the crash, and even came back later that day to wrestle his aircraft out of the hedge.
Speaking at the scene, he said: ‘I’m a bit sore. The pain is simply from the straps and hanging upside down for forty minutes. Apart from that I escaped with a bloody thumb.’
He added: ‘You don’t get scared at the time, you just do what you trained to do,’ he said. ‘You spend all that time doing practice forced landings, it is just instinctive.’
He said what was more worrying was being stuck in the plane: ‘I didn’t want to let go,’ he said. ‘If I moved I didn’t know what would happen to the thing.’

Mr Bray, from Rugby, Warwickshire, part-owns the single engine piston plane, which has a propeller on its nose, with five other friends.
The group have been flying the light aircraft – which weighs only 1,050lbs – for eight years.
After flying out of Wellesbourne Airfield Mr Bray tried to glide the plane into a field when the engine cut out, but unfortunately ran out of space.
Nearby resident Paul Van Der Heyden said he initially thought the noise of the engine was from a tractor. When he heard a loud crash after the engine cut out, he though it had fallen into a ditch and went to investigate. He was amazed to find a plane embedded upside down in the hedgerow.
The only thing that saved him from flipping over entirely was an electric line that the plane’s tail got caught on
‘You could smell the kerosene or petrol or whatever it was, so I didn’t go too close in case it went up,’ he said.
‘I phoned the emergency services, and then had to go to the end of the lane to wave them down after one drove straight past.’
Another resident, Tori Danle, stayed with Mr Bray while they waited for firefighters to help him out of the cockpit. Crews were on the scene for around an hour and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham also came, touching down in the same field that Alan himself tried to land in.
After he was freed, paramedics made sure he wasn’t injured and gave him the all-clear. The Air Ambulance was on the scene for 30 minutes.
