A Note From the Desk of GOD…

From The Desk Of God…

Please be aware that there are changes you need to make in your life. These changes need to be completed in order that I may fulfill my promises to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in this life. I apologize for any inconvenience, but after all that I am doing, this seems very little to ask of you. I know, I already gave you the 10 Commandments. Keep them. But follow these guidelines as well…
1. QUIT WORRYING
Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here to take all your burdens and carry them for you? Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes your way?
2. PUT IT ON THE LIST
Something needs done or taken care of. Put it on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put it on MY to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care of the problem. I can’t help you until you turn it over to me. And, although my to-do-list is long, I am, after all, God. I can take care of anything you put into my hands. In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I take care of a lot of things for you that you never even realize.
3. TRUST ME
Once you’ve given your burdens to me, quit trying to take them back. Trust in me. Have the faith that I will take care of all your needs, your problems and your trials. Problems with the kids? Put them on my list. Problem with finances? Put it on my list. Problems with your emotional roller coaster? For my sake, put it on my list. I want to help you. All you have to do is ask.
4. LEAVE IT ALONE
Don’t wake up one morning and say, “Well, I’m feeling much stronger now, I think I can handle it from here.” Why do you think you are feeling stronger now? It’s simple. You gave me your burdens and I’m taking care of them. I also renew your strength and cover you in my peace. Don’t you know that if I give you these problems back, you will be right back where you started? Leave them with me and forget about them. Just let me do my job.
5. TALK TO ME
I want you to forget a lot of things. Forget what was making you crazy. Forget the worry and the fretting because you know I’m in control. But there’s one thing I pray you never forget. Please don’t forget to talk to me – OFTEN! I love you. I want to hear your voice. I want you to include me in on the things going on in your life. I want to hear you talk about your friends and family. Prayer is simply you having a conversation with me. I want to be your dearest friend.
6. HAVE FAITH
I see a lot of things from up here that you can’t see from where you are. Have faith in me that I know what I’m doing. Trust me, you wouldn’t want the view from my eyes. I will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your needs. You only have to trust me. Although I have a much bigger task than you, it seems as if you have so much trouble just doing your simple part. How hard can trust be?
7. SHARE
You were taught to share when you were only two years old. When did you forget? That rule still applies. Share with those who are less fortunate than you. Share your joy with those who need encouragement. Share your laughter with those who haven’t heard any in such a long time. Share your tears with those who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faith with those who have none.
8. BE PATIENT
I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have so many diverse experiences. You grow from a child to an adult, have children, change jobs many times, learn many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousands of people, and experience so much. How can you be so impatient then when it takes me a little longer than you expect to handle something on my to-do-list? Trust in my timing, for my timing is perfect. Just because I created the entire universe in only six days, everyone thinks I should always rush, rush, rush.
9. BE KIND
Be kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you. They may not dress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but I still love you all. Please try to get along, for my sake. I created each of you different in some way. It would be too boring if you were all identical. Please know I love each of your differences.
10. LOVE YOURSELF
As much as I love you, how can you not love yourself? You were created by me for one reason only – to be loved, and to love in return. I am a God of Love. Love me. Love your neighbors. But also love yourself. It makes my heart ache when I see you so angry with yourself when things go wrong. You are very precious to me. Don’t ever forget that!
With all my heart,
I Love You,
GOD

Some Common Daily Habits That Might be Standing in Your Way of Happy and Healthy Heart ….

Could These Daily Habits Be Increasing Your Risk Of Heart Disease

Cardiovascular disease is a very common condition. There are many seemingly harmless everyday habits that might also be leading to an increased risk of heart disease and stroke. Here are some of the most common daily habits that might be standing in your way of a healthy and happy heart.

You don’t take care of your teeth
Poor dental hygiene is a surprising cause of heart diseases. Taking care of your teeth and gums not only leaves you with pearly white teeth, but also keeps your heart healthy. According to research, there is a link between cardiac risks and dental hygiene. This is because when gums are inflamed, bacteria enter the blood vessels, which then travel to the coronary area. This narrows the passages, leading to lesser blood flow.

You tend to bottle up your emotions
If you are feeling depressed, hostile or stressed, it could take a toll on your heart’s health. It is not uncommon for all of us to feel these emotions at some point in our lives, but it is how you handle them that makes all the difference. If you tend to bottle up or internalize stress, you may be in grave danger. Laughter and social support have been clinically proven to positively affect for stress and heart health.

You spend hours on the couch in front of your television set
Sometimes you just want to block out the world and become a couch potato, but if this becomes a daily habit, it could start to affect your heart. Sitting for hours at a stretch can increase your risk of heart attack and stroke, even if you exercise on a regular basis. The lack of movement is not compensated by intermittent exercise. This sedentary position affects blood levels of sugars and fats. If you must laze on your couch, at least get up and walk around every now and then.

You have an erratic sleep schedule
You may be at risk of a heart disease if you have an erratic sleep schedule. Sleeping less than five hours or more than nine hours a night may have an adverse affect on your heart health, because both extremes affect your levels of stress hormones and blood pressure.

You snore
Snoring, while annoying for your sleeping partner, may be a sign of a more serious condition – obstructive sleep apnea. This disorder, marked by breathing that is interrupted during sleep, has been known to cause blood pressure to shoot up when you are snoring in your sleep. You should consult your doctor immediately if you sleep regular hours but wake up feeling lethargic and tired.

Your exercise routine isn’t consistent
If you feel particularly motivated to exercise on a Monday morning, but then through the week, your motivation seems to dwindle, you are setting yourself up for heart damage. If you work out inconsistently, say by exercising rigorous one day and then taking the next week of because you have overstressed yourself, it could be bad for your heart health. The best thing to do would be to aim for a routine that is slow and steady so that your heart can get accustomed to the physical exertion and be able to adapt accordingly.

You tend to have too many cocktails
While getting belligerent once in a while on an occasion is completely acceptable, if you make it a regular feature, you will put yourself at risk of high blood pressure, heart failure, and high level of blood fats. If you have to drink socially, make sure you have just one drink a day.

You find yourself binge eating very often
One of the main risk factors for heart disease is excess weight. If you add binge eating to the equation, your heart is sure to suffer. Many people tend to overeat when they are stressed, bored or emotional, but it is in your heart’s best interest to stick to small portions.

You procrastinate on visiting the doctor for regular checkups
Just because you aren’t showing symptoms of heart disease, that doesn’t mean you are absolutely safe. Heart conditions have a nasty way of creeping up on you and affect just about anyone. The best way to stay safe is to visit your doctor for regular checkups and keep you weight, diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure and smoking in check.

You tend to withdraw from the world
On some days, you feel you just want to shut out everyone and everything and go into your shell. That is fine once in a while, but if you make it a habit, it will manifest in some way or the other, most likely in the form of your health. People who have stronger ties with friends, family and society in general tend to live healthier, more fulfilled, longer lives. While it is important to have alone time every so often, reaching out to others and keeping in touch is equally important.

Message For the Day…” What is Non-Violence …” ?

The observance of non-violence has been described as the highest form ofDharma. All the violence in the world today is due to the fact that people do not lead righteous lives. It has been said that the body has been given essentially to pursue Dharma. Among the teachings of the Buddha, the foremost was Ahimsa (not causing harm to anyone). Non-violence is not merely refraining from inflicting injuries on others with one’s limbs or weapons. Non-violence has to be practised with Thrikarana Shuddhi (purity of thought, word and deed). There should be no ill-feelings, which is itself a form of violence. To cause harm to others through one’s body is himsa(violence). No one should be harmed even by speech; our words should be sweet, pleasing and wholesome. All actions should be helpful to others

Put in the jar half of the spliced lemon, half of the scraped ginger and the honey, and mix well.
In 3-4 hours, the syrup will be ready for use, after the honey pulls the juice out of the citrus fruit and make the syrup more liquid. If you want something thicker, increase the ration between the honey and the fruit (more honey).
We recommend keeping the jar covered and put in cooling. You can add honey now and again to keep it full. It should keep for at least 1-2 months, maybe even more, as honey is a natural preservative.

Message For the Day…” Remember that You are Who You are because Someone Helped You In the Past…”

A person with gratitude is meritorious and an ungrateful person is a sinner. Throughout your life, never forget even a small help that someone has rendered to you. Remember that you are who you are because someone helped you in the past. The wordParopakara (helping others) is a combination of three terms –Para + Upa + Kara. Para = Atma; Upa = Near and Kara = action. The objective of your meritorious deeds must be to progress nearer to God. The same Divine (Atma) is present in you and everyone. Do not perform noble deeds with the feeling that you are doing charity. Real Paropakara is to act with faith and do meritorious acts to serve the Divine in others, without entertaining feelings of division and difference. Understand clearly that physically harming or injuring others is not the only sin, but seeing others as different from the Divine within you is also sin. You may be different individuals in bodies, but the Lord within is One.

” Theo and Beau ….” !!!

This month marks my fifth year blogging and being actively involved in social media.

   in

Momma’s Gone City

Source:::www.huffintonpost.com

My intent and focus has always been the same: Telling our story through words and photos. Instagram is my youngest social platform, as I resisted following the craze for what felt to me like a long time. Interestingly enough, it’s because of my Instagram account that our lives changed overnight.

Social media has had a positive influence on my life in so many ways, beginning long before my photos of Theo and Beau went viral.

mgc4

Three months after we moved to New York City, my 2-year-old landed us in the emergency room with a severe allergic reaction to pistachios. Without any family, friends or neighbors to call, my husband stayed home with our youngest while I literally ran my wheezing, hive-covered baby through the rain to the NYU ER. Over the seven hours that Jack and I spent in that sterile, packed little curtained-off corner while he received round after round of steroids and oxygen, I turned to Twitter and found that I wasn’t, in fact, alone. There was a community of mothers and fathers there to virtually hold my hand, sharing their experiences and advice with me. Mostly they assured me that it was OK to be scared, but that my baby would also be OK. That was the first time I realized that this community is so much more than a bunch of strangers behind computer screens — this is a lifeline. These are my friends.

This incredible group of socially conscious and connected peers would prove immeasurably valuable over the next five years, but never more so than when my instagram photos went viral last November.

mgc6

We adopted Theo from the Santa Cruz SPCA in late November of last year. He was 7 weeks young when we brought him home with us, and I’m quite sure he was sharing the nerves and anticipation that we were feeling.

Theo found the most comfort in my son Beau, and they immediately bonded as buddies, partners in crime, and even as brothers. He began napping with Beau, who wasn’t quite 2, the day after he came to live with us. I shared my delight with my husband via text first, then on Instagram.

mgc2

They napped together day after day, and after a few naps I realized this wasn’t going to change anytime soon — so I gave them their own hashtag, and wrote about their lovely little ritual on my blog. The Huffington Post published an article about them next day, and by that night I had a slew of new followers and a deluge of media requests. Realizing what was happening without really registering it consciously, I stayed up for two nights fielding requests and handling agent emails and talk show inquiries. The local news crews were on our doorstep that weekend, and we even went to San Francisco in the middle of the night to film Fox & Friends. Good Morning America set up shop in our living room one evening the following week, and we started appearing in print all over the world.

2014-05-02-IMG_4763.jpg

2014-05-02-IMG_4875.jpg

2014-05-02-IMG_6090.jpg

Everyone said that I had “hit the lottery” and told me to enjoy my five minutes of fame. I couldn’t connect with that whatsoever, because in the midst of all of that attention, my baby’s face was appearing all over the world and my anxiety was eating me alive. It was mostly positive, though of course with the rapid attention and millions of eyeballs came the naysayers and Internet grumps. I’ve dealt with my share of negativity from strangers on the Internet, but those instances pale in comparison to the hundreds of emails and thousands of supportive comments from people all over the world.

mgc7

I’ve heard stories of love and loss and how the photos of Theo and Beau bring peace and reassurance and hope to all kinds of people in all different situations. Above all else, this has been the largest bounty. The amount of love we’ve received in many different forms and several different languages has left me forever humbled.

My commitment to using social media for good had also presented itself in the most obvious way: turning the attention to our local Santa Cruz SPCA. We’ve raised over $10,000 towards their goal of building a new facility, and with a portion of the proceeds from my book going toward it as well, I’m confident they’ll meet that goal. Philanthropy has always been my anchor, and it’s kept me grounded throughout this experience.

mgc3

The past five months have been some of the most intense of my entire life. I’ve rapidly learned all about Internet property, copyright and trademarks, and more broadly, the infinite arms of the Internet — how vast that span is and yet how wildly unhinged it can be, too.

In my most frantic and dire moments of stress, my online community was there for me again. Far from the emergency room, yet feeling stranded all the same, I received unsolicited emails and notes of advice and support from some of the most successful and knowledgeable pioneers in this business: women and men whom I am hugely proud to call my friends. I battened down the hatches by hiring a team of heroes: lawyers, agents, publicists, a rock star to handle my sponsorship opportunities, and even a babysitter and a house cleaner. What was once a loosely run online lifestyle journal is now a full-time commitment, and I still get to be at home with my kids fulfilling my number one goal and priority of raising my children.

mgc1

This means that I’m taking conference calls at the playgrounds, Little League games, and even my obstetrician’s waiting room. I may be enjoying far fewer morning trips to the beach than originally planned upon our move to Santa Cruz, but I’m earning a living of my own and am able to help support my family as well as climb the ladder of dental school debt.

I’m incredibly proud to announce that Naptime with Theo and Beau is now available for pre-order. I am also incredibly thrilled to release the very first video that I’ve been working on with Anna Mayer, which was shot soon after we brought Theo home. It’s been a wonderful journey, and it’s apparent that our story is only beginning.

Does the Australian Rain Forest Hold the Key to Curing Cancer ?

Australian scientists believe a seed from a rainforest plant could hold the key to curing cancer.

Researchers say initial tests of the Blushwood tree has found is was effective 70 per cent of the time.

An experimental drug based on the seed was even found to be effective in treating pets with cancer.

The new drug, EBC-46, is a compound extracted from the fruit of the Blushwood tree which is found in north Queensland rainforests.

THE BLUSHWOOD TREE

EBC-46 is a compound extracted from the fruit of the Blushwood.

The tree which is found in north Queensland rainforests.

Scientists at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute found a single injection of the drug EBC-46 led to rapid breakdown of tumours in a range of human tumour models.

The study, published in the journal PLOS One, was led by Dr Glen Boyle.

He says the findings suggest the drug could be effective in human patients.

‘We were able to achieve very strong results injecting EBC-46 directly into melanoma models, as well as cancers of the head, neck and colon,’ Dr Boyle said.

‘In most cases the single injection treatment caused the loss of viability of cancer cells within four hours, and ultimately destroyed the tumours.’

Dr Boyle says EBC-46 works in part by triggering a cellular response which effectively cuts off the blood supply to the tumour.

‘In more than 70 per cent of pre-clinical cases, the response and cure was long-term and enduring, with very little relapse over a period of 12 months.’

EBC-46 was discovered by the Queensland biotechnology company EcoBiotics.

The drug is being developed as a human and veterinary pharmaceutical through EcoBiotics’ subsidiary company QBiotics.

The experimental drug has been used by practising veterinarians to successfully destroy or shrink tumours in pets – including dogs, cats and horses.

QBiotics is currently undertaking formal veterinary clinical trials with EBC-46 in Australia and the USA.

A final regulatory approval is still required for a human Phase I clinical trial.

Dr Boyle says QIMR Berghofer is keen to pursue further research to determine if EBC-46 could be made more effective.

‘We must stress at this point that EBC-46 will only be trialled in the short-term for tumours which can be accessed by direct injection or topical application,’ Dr Boyle said.

‘There is no evidence to suggest EBC-46 would be effective against metastatic cancers.’

The pre-clinical trials at QIMR Berghofer have been largely funded by QBiotics with additional support from the NHMRC.

Message For the Day…” Have a Mealof Good Acts of Services, Divine Thoughts…”

Just as every day you engage in exercise and consume tonics, calculating the intake of calories and vitamins, and paying meticulous attention to the nutritional value of the food, pay attention also to the intake of impressions into the mind – whether they debilitate or strengthen, whether they add to the power of resistance of the mind against the viruses of greed, envy, hatred, pride, malice, etc. Have a meal of good acts of service, divine thoughts, and drink the premarasa (juice of Love), so that they may be washed down, and digested well. Then you can be shining in mental health, happiness and wholesomeness.
