Aircraft Wings Hit The Building While Taxiing ” !!!
A British Airways jet crashed into a building just before take-off at Johannesburg’s main airport last night, injuring four airport officials.
The flight, which was on its way to London, veered off the taxiway as it headed to the runway and buried its right wing in the two-storey brick structure.
A spokesman for OR Tambo airport said all 182 passengers were taken off the 747 to spend the night in a hotel.
A statement from the South African Civil Aviation Authority’s (SACAA) preliminary report, the B747-400 aircraft was cleared for takeoff on Runway 03L.
It said: ‘It was confirmed to the SACAA that the air crew got instructions from the Air Traffic Control to taxi using taxi way B. The crew continued onto taxi way M which is narrower resulting in the aircraft impacting on an office building behind the SAA Technical hangers.

‘Four officials (of Bidvest, a South Africa-based distribution services and trading business) who were in the building were injured by the debris. The 17 Crew and 185 passengers who were in the aircraft escaped unharmed and were evacuated from the aircraft through door no. 5.
‘The South African Civil Aviation Authority wishes a speedy recovery to the injured officials.’
Fuel spillage was reported from the aircraft but this was contained by the airport fire services without further incident.
The SACAA dispatched investigators last night and early this morning they witnessed the recovery of the aircraft as well as the removal of the flight recorder from the aircraft. The investigation continues.
Harriet Tolputt, head of media for Oxfam, was on the flight and snapped the picture above.
She posted on Twitter: ‘BA plane crashes into building at J Burg airport. No one injured only the pilot’s pride. Not impressed that first class passengers get off before premium economy during an emergency.’
British Airways said an investigation was underway.
A spokesman said: ‘A British Airways Boeing 747 was damaged while taxiing at Johannesburg airport.
‘The 182 customers disembarked safely and there were no reported injuries on board the aircraft.
‘Customers were looked after by our staff and provided with hotel accommodation and we are arranging alternative flights for them.
‘We have launched a full investigation into the incident and are giving our assistance to the independent South African Civil Aviation Authority with the matter.’

கிறிஸ்மஸ் தாத்தா இல்லாமல் இன்று எங்கும் கிறிஸ்துமஸ் கொண்டாடப்படுவதில்லை என்ற அளவுக்கு கிறிஸ்மஸ் தாத்தாவும் கிறிஸ்துமஸ்சும் ஐக்கியப்பட்டுப் போனது. கிறிஸ்மஸ் தாத்தா தோன்றிய விதம் குறித்து அலசினால் அவருக்கும் ஒரு பின்னனி உண்டு என்பதை அறியலாம்!
உண்மையில் புனித நிக்கோலஸ் தான் சாண்ட்டகிளாஸ் என்ற கிறிஸ்மஸ் தாத்தா உருவாகக் காரணம் என்று சொல்லவேண்டும். புனித நிக்கோலஸ் ரோமன் கத்தோலிக்க பிஷப் வார்! நான்காம் நூற்றாண்டில் வாழ்ந்தவர். வாழ்க்கையின் அடித்தள மக்களின் மேம்பாட்டிற்காகவும், ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட சமுதாயத்திற்க்காகவும் தன்னை அற்பணித்துக்கொண்டஅற்புதர் அவர்! “உன் வலக்கரம் செய்தது இடது கரம் அறியக்கூடாது ” என்ற வேத வசனத்திற்கு ஒப்ப வாழ்ந்த அவர் மக்களின் தேவையறிந்து அதனை அவர்கள் அறியாமல் நிறைவேற்றி வந்தார். ஆலயத்தில் தங்கள் தனிப்பட்ட வேண்டுதல்களை, மனக் குறைகளை பாவசங்கீர்த்தனம் ( பாவமன்னிப்பு ) செய்யும்போது சொன்னால் அவர்களின் குறைகள் நீங்க விசேடமாகப் பிரார்த்திக்கப்படும் என்று புனித நிக்கோலஸ் அறிவித்திருந்தார்.
அதன்படி மக்கள் ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட நாளில் புனித நிக்கோலஸிடம் பாவமன்னிப்பு கோரிச் சென்ற போது தங்கள் குறைகளையும் சொல்லத் துவங்கினர். உண்மையிலேயே அவர்கள் சொல்லும் குறைகள் நியாயமானதுதானா? என்றறிந்து அவர்கள் அறியாமல் உதவிகள் செய்வதை வழக்கமாகக் கொண்டிருந்தார். இப்படி ஒரு சமயம் புனித நிக்கோலஸ் செய்யத் துவங்கிய உதவியே அவர் அதுபோன்ற உதவிகள் தொடரக்காரணமானது! ஒரு மனிதர் தனது மகளின் திருமணத்திற்கு நகைகள் செய்யவோ, ஆடை ஆபரணங்கள் வாங்கவோ வழியின்றி மிகுந்த துயருக்கு ஆளாகி வேதனையுற்றிருந்தார்.
அந்த மனிதருக்கு மூன்று பெண் குழந்தைகள்! மூன்று பேரையும் எப்படிக் கரைசேர்ப்பேன் என்று தெரியாமல் புலம்பித் தவித்தார். குளிர்காலம் முடிந்ததும் வசந்த காலத்தில் மூத்தபெண்ணுக்குத் திருமணம் செய்வதென்று நிச்சயிக்கப்பட்டது. தனது இயலாமையை பாவ சங்கீர்த்தனத்திற்குச் சென்றபோது அந்த மனிதரும் எல்லோரைப் போலவே தழுதழுத்த குரலில் சொல்லி அழுது மன்றாடி வந்தார். கொடுக்கின்ற தெய்வம் ஆனால் குளிர்கால விழா எங்கும் கோலாகலமாகக் கொண்டாடப்பட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்த வேளையில் மூன்று பெண்களுக்குத் தந்தையான அவர் மனம் சோர்ந்துபோய் அவருடைய வீடும் எந்தவிதமான மகிழ்ச்சியுமின்றி சோகத்தில் மூழ்கிக் கிடந்தது. அந்தச் சோகத்திலேயே அந்த இரவு உறங்கியும் போனார்கள். நள்ளிரவு ஏதோ ஒரு பொருள் “பொத்” தென்று விழுந்த சத்தம் கேட்டு அந்த மனிதர் எழுந்து சென்று பார்த்தார்.
வீட்டின் புகைபோக்கிக்கு நேர் கீழ் ஒரு பை கிடந்ததைக் கண்டார். அந்தப் பையைத் திறந்து பார்த்த அவருக்கோ பெருத்த ஆச்சரியம்! தன் மகள் திருமணத்திற்கு என்ன செய்வேன் என்று ஏங்கித் தவித்த மனிதனுக்கு விடையாகக் கிடைத்தது போல தங்க ஆபரணங்களும், பணமும் இருந்தது கண்டு திகைத்துப் போனார். “கொடுக்கின்ற தெய்வம் கூரையைப் பொத்துக்கொண்டு கொடுத்தது” என்று சொல்வது போல தெய்வம் கொடுத்தது என்று சொல்லி மகிழ்ந்து மகளின் திருமணத்தை தடபுடலாக நடத்தினார். அதே போல தனது இரண்டாவது மகளுக்கு திருமணம் நிச்சயிக்கப்பட்ட போதும் அவருடைய பணமுடை அவரைச் சோகத்தில் ஆழ்த்தியது. ஆனால் முதலில் தெய்வம் கொடுத்தது போல புகைபோக்கியை பொத்துக்கொண்டு இந்தமுறை கொடுக்கும் என்பது என்ன நிச்சயம்? ஆனால் அந்த அதிசயம் நிகழ்ந்தது! முன்பு புகைபோக்கி வழியே கிடைத்ததைப் போலவே இந்த முறையும் கிடைத்தது. விழுந்த சத்தம் கேட்டதும் வீட்டிற்கு வெளியே ஓடிச் சென்று பார்த்தார். தூரத்தில் யாரோசெல்வது மட்டும் தெரிந்தது. ஆனால் உருவம் யார் என்பதை அறிந்து கொள்ள முடியவில்லை. மூன்றாம் மகள் திருமணம் நிச்சயிக்கப்பட்டிருந்த நிலையில் அந்த மனிதர் நள்ளிரவு வரை விழித்திருந்து புகைப்போக்கியையே பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்துவிட்டு தூங்குவதை வழக்கமாகக் கொண்டிருந்தார். தமக்கு உதவி செய்கின்ற அந்த உருவத்தைப் பார்க்க ஆவல் கொண்டிருந்ததால் அவ்வாறு நள்ளிரவு வரை விழித்திருந்து அந்த உருவத்தின் வரவுக்காக காத்திருக்க ஆரம்பித்தார். அவர் எதிர் பார்த்த அந்த நாளும் வந்தது. நள்ளிரவில் ஒரு பை “பொத்” என்று விழுந்ததும் தயாராக திறந்து வைத்திருந்த கதவைத் தாண்டி வெளியே ஓடிப் பார்த்தபோது, சிவப்பு அங்கியணிந்திருந்த அந்த உருவம் வெள்ளைக் குதிரையொன்றில் தாவி ஏறவும் இவர் அவரை யார் என்று பார்க்கவும் சரியாக இருந்திருக்கின்றது. அவர் கண்கள் ஆச்சரியத்தால் நிறைந்து போயிருந்தது. அந்த உருவத்துக்குச் சொந்தக்காரர் புனித நிக்கோலஸ்! புனித நிக்கோலஸ் தான் உதவியது குறித்து யாரிடமும் சொல்லவேண்டாம் என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டு அந்த மனிதரை ஆசீர்வதித்துவிட்டுச் சென்றார்.
அந்த மனிதப் புனிதர் நிக்கோலஸ் வாழ்ந்த காலம் வரை தேவையுள்ளோர் யார் என்பதறிந்து அவர்கள் வீட்டின் புகைபோக்கி வழியாக அவ்வீட்டார் அறியாமல் பொன்னோ பொருளோ போடுவதை வழக்கமாகக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அவர் புகை போக்கி வழியாக பரிசுகளை, வெகுமதிகளை உள்ளே போட்டுவிட்டு அந்த வீட்டிலுள்ளவர்கள் என்ன? யார் என்று கவனிப்பதற்குள் தனது வெள்ளைக்குதிரையில் பறந்துவிடுவாராம். சிறுவர் சிறுமியருக்கு சிறுசிறுபரிசுப் பொருட்களையும் அவர்கள் வீடுகளுக்குச் சென்று போட்டுவிட்டு பின்னர் அவர்கள் அகம் மகிழ்வதைக் கண்டுமகிழ்ந்தார்! வழக்கம் பழக்கமானது அவர் மறைவுக்குப் பின் அவர் மேற்கொண்டிருந்த அப் பழக்கமே பின்னர் சாண்ட்ட கிளாஸ் என்ற உருவாகச் சித்தரிக்கப்பட்டு கிறிஸ்துமஸ் தினத்திற்கு முன்பு புகை போக்கி வழியாக குழந்தைகளுக்கு பரிசுகளை அளிக்கும் வழக்கம் பின்பற்றப்படலாயிற்று.
குட்டையான தடித்த உருவம், நீண்ட வெண்தாடி, சிவப்பு வெல்வெட் வண்ண உடையின் ஓரங்களில் வெண்பகுதி அலங்கரிக்க, சர்க்கஸ் கோமாளி போன்ற சிவப்புவண்ணத்தில் குஞ்சம் வைத்த குல்லா, ஒரு மூக்குக் கண்ணாடி இடுப்பில் அகன்ற தோல் பட்டை பெல்ட், முதுகில் தொங்கும் பரிசுப் பொருட்கள் அடங்கிய ஒரு பெரிய பை….இதுதான் கிறிஸ்மஸ் தாத்தா! அது மட்டுமா? கிறிஸ்மஸ் தாத்தாவுக்கு கடிதம் போட்டால் அவர் வாழ்த்து அனுப்புகின்றதிலிருந்து முக்கிய இடங்களுக்கு திடீர் விசிட் அடித்து குழந்தைகளை மகிழ்விக்கச் செய்வது வரை உலகின் பல பகுதிகளில் கிறிஸ்மஸ் தாத்தா சாண்ட்ட கிளாஸாக பவனி வந்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றார்.
ஆனால் சுவீடனில் புனித லூசியாதான் கிறிஸ்மஸ் தாத்தாவாக…ஸாரி பாட்டியாகக் கருதப்படுகிறார் என்பது கொசுறு தகவல்.

” Heavy Snowfall in Jerusalem “…..
A rare winter storm struck the Middle East beginning around Tuesday, December 10 and lasting into that weekend – producing heavy snow in areas that typically never see the white stuff. Jerusalem recorded an impressive 15-20 inches of snow,according to The Telegraph, with roads still blocked on Saturday, December 14. It was the most snow ever recorded in that region in the month of December for at least 60 years. Behind the surge of wintry precipitation, cold temperatures were widespread across the Middle East during the week of December 9-15, 2013. Snow and cold temperatures created difficult conditions particularly across Syria, where refugees had to embrace the extreme conditions outside.
The storm affected parts of Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Northern Syria, Iran, Turkey, Egypt and the Palestinian territories, while bringing torrential rains and serious flooding to low-lying areas. Where cold air wasn’t present, heavy rains resulted in flooding across the dry river beds around the Dead Sea. Meanwhile, Cairo had a once-in-a-lifetime snowfall, the first recorded snow to fall in that city in over 100 years.

Bottom line: A strong weather system pushed into the Middle East beginning around December 10, producing snow and sending temperatures plunging downward. By the end of the week (around December 13), Jerusalem was at a standstill as heavy snow blasted the city. Cairo, Egypt recorded measurable snow for the first time in over 100 years.

Message For the Day…” Don’t Teach Hypocrisy to Children “…

Teachers should never curse their pupils, whatever the provocation. They must always bless them. The teacher who swears like a boor, reduces oneself to the level of a boor. They should watch their own behavior rigorously and find out whether there is some habit or trait, which if imitated by the student, will be harmful. They should themselves follow the advice they give. Otherwise, they will be teaching hypocrisy to the little children and encourage them to acquire the cunningness of not being caught when doing wrong. It is sheer mental weakness and cowardice that allows hypocrisy to develop. If you have the courage to face the consequences you will never utter falsehood. The teacher should not try to rule through the easier means of fear, for that is full of dangerous consequences for the pupils. They should try rather the path of Love.
