” How about a Piece of Advice From a 20 Year old …” ?

Words of advice from Oscar award-winning actors are all very fine. How about some from a 20-year-old?

Mass media student Chhaya Ranka has a few things to say.

1. Not everything happens according to us

Photographs: Kerri Lee Smith/Creative Commons

Your boss won’t work according to you.

Your cousin won’t change the date of her marriage.

Your boyfriend will breakup with you if he has to.

It’s called life. Deal with it.

2. People come and go. Life goes on forever

Remember that time when you were crying because you had a fight with your best friend.

Who cares now? S/he doesn’t.

And probably you don’t too.

3. Chocolate is heavenly but it makes us fat

Chocolate is sweet. Chocolate is yummy.

Who wants food when you can have chocolate?

But who wants to grow fat when you can be healthy?

4. You can’t always live with your parents

You are daddy’s little girl and mummy’s spoilt brat.

You are always going to stay that way.

Stop living your life under their shadow and start doing things on your own.

Learn something new. Study some course.

Get a job and earn money.

The satisfaction of earning your own money is worth it.

But don’t indulge into illegal activities.

5. The only person who matters the most is you

It isn’t wrong to take care of yourself.

It isn’t wrong to make yourself the most important person in your life.

Do yourself a favour and love yourself so much that it will be difficult for people to hurt you.

6. Our siblings are our first best friends

They know how weird we are.

But they never give up on us.

Even after some huge fights and arguments they always have our backs.

7. Money can only buy materialistic things

Feelings and emotions can never be forced upon.

But as Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl says “Whoever said money can’t buy happiness didn’t know where to shop”.

That is a totally different case then 🙂

8. Smile a lot. People are watching you always

Yes. Smile.

As much as you can.

You never know who falls for that beautiful smile of yours.

PS: Avoid roadside creeps though.

9. Respect your elders

Listen to what they have to say.

Best lessons can come to you from them.

It isn’t always required that you do whatever they say.

Just listen to them and respect them.

10. No one can and no one will ever love you much as your family loves you

The last time I cried over a breakup was years ago but I remember how my brother was ready to team up with his friends and bash the ex-boyfriend.

Even though it was my mistake, my mother cursed the ex.

Even after all the wrong things you do, your family accepts you.

11. Movies are fictional

Apart from historical movies, Bollywood lies all the time.

Not all stories have a happily ever after.

In fact, all romantic comedies and action films and superhero films are lie.

A spider bit me two years ago; I didn’t turn into Spiderwoman.

Drive a car at the speed of 200kmph and in a matter of time you will be fighting for your life.

12. A perfect figure isn’t everything

Being healthy and taking care of your weight is a very good thing.

Some people love your inner beauty more.

In fact most people do.

Life is much more beyond a perfect figure.

What is the point of having a perfect figure when you know it won’t last forever?

Even if you are too thin or too fat, what matters most is your personality and how you make others around you feel.

13. Career is important

Build your career.

Learn new things.

Meet new people.

Make new connections.

A few years from now you will look back and realise there are a lot of things you wanted to do but didn’t or couldn’t.

Leave no regrets.

14. Life is full of priorities and choices

Family and career should always come first.

Then if you have time, get into relationships.

Now who wants to be a housewife or jobless?

15. General knowledge is an asset

A little bit of GK about the world does no harm.

The added benefit is you get to talk to anyone and everyone.

16. Everything happens for a reason

Bad things happen so that we understand what the good things are.

Good things happen to prepare us for the best things.

17. Fall in love. Date the wrong people

After every bad date you will realise who you really wish to be with.

It will also help you in becoming the kind of person you have always wanted to be.

18. Make mistakes

Make as many mistakes as you can. Learn from them.

But don’t repeat them.

Message For the Day…” How to Achieve the Spiritual Progress in One’s Life …” ?

The minute hand of the clock is the individual soul. It goes round and round – the hour hand does move, silently and slowly, with dignity. The hour hand is the Supreme Soul. Once in an hour, these two meet, but the individual soul does not get that consummation fixed forever. It loses the precious chance, and so has to go round and round again. Liberation happens when the two merges and there is just one. Like the silkworm that spins from out of itself the cocoon that proves to be its tomb, people spin from out of their own mind, the cage in which they get trapped. Assign your mind the task of serving the Lord and it will grow tame. Give your mind to the Lord. Forget the past and don’t worry about errors in future. Bring to memory only those things that are worth remembering and assiduously follow your spiritual practices. You will achieve spiritual progress.

eRumour Circulating Now…. ” A Massive asteroid Will hit Earth in September 2015″

Reports have gone viral that the government is preparing for a large asteroid to hit Earth in September 2015.

The Truth:

The claim that a massive asteroid will hit the earth in September 2015 is a Hoax.

The NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) operates the Near-Earth Object Program to identify asteroids that come within millions of miles of earth. The JPL has taken to Twitter to dismiss claims that a massive asteroid will strike earth in September 2015:

“ The September asteroid scare is just another hoax.”

“The claims an asteroid scheduled to hit earth in September are a hoax.”

“There is no such object posing a threat to Earth. There are several hoaxes, akin to the doomsday 2012 hoax, circulating the web.”

These claims appear to have started with the Rev. Efrain Rodriguez, a Pentecostal Evangelical minister from Puerto Rico. Rodriguez claimed that god told him an asteroid would strike off the coast of Puerto Rico and cause 40 million deaths. Aside from Rodriguez’s personal account, there’s no proof that an asteroid is on course to strike earth in September 2015.

These claims were echoed by a number of blog sites and went viral with a YouTube video that had more than 430,000 views. But the video appears to be nothing more than an advertisement for a book about the rapture and doesn’t include any details about the so-called asteroid bound for Earth.

Because there is no scientific proof that an asteroid will hit the Earth in September 2015, and because NASA has directly denied those claims, we’re classifying this one as fiction.

” Meet this Young Man from Netherlands who is Trying to Findout a Solution Cleaning the Ocean ..”

Will the Oceans Soon Be Clean?

Every year, over 8 million tons of plastic trash gets dumped into the ocean. The trash is not only unsightly, but also a serious hazard to marine life. Animals get stuck in bags and other bits of plastic; others try to eat the garbage thinking it’s food, and many end up hurt or worse. This information may cause one to ask if this is the legacy we’re leaving for future generations.

Ocean Cleanup

Ocean Cleanup

Knowing this, Boyan Slat – a 20-year-old man from the Netherlands, has been trying to find a solution. Finally, he came up with an ingenious way that will allow the ocean to clean itself (with a little help).

Ocean Cleanup

The plan is to set up specially-designed floating barriers in key locations around the globe. These locations are gyres – large system of circular ocean currents that are formed by global winds and the Earth’s rotation. The gyres circulate the ocean water around the Earth, making them the ideal location to trap all of the garbage.

Ocean Cleanup

Ocean Cleanup

Slat created a non-profit organization called Ocean Cleanup, to aid in the funding and deployment of these oceanic barriers. The barriers aren’t nets since nets trap and kill marine animals. Instead, they are large V-shaped buffers. To stay in place, they are anchored not by heavy objects, but rather by large, floating buoys.

Ocean Cleanup

Ocean Cleanup

Water can freely flow under the buoys, allowing animals to pass freely while plastic gets trapped and funneled upwards making it easy to collect and remove.

Ocean Cleanup

Despite many setbacks, it was announced in May of 2015 that the Japanese government decided to deploy the first system in 2016, near the island of Tsushima. The first system will be a 6,500 feet (1.9Km) wide, and it will be the largest floating system in the world.

Ocean Cleanup

The most incredible part of this story, is that Slat raised the funds for his organization over the internet, and his team calculated that by deploying a 62 mile (100km) array, the system will be able to clean up as much as 42% of all of the ocean’s garbage within a decade. If you’re trying to understand the sheer numbers of that, those 42% equals 70,320 tons of waste.

” Ayurveda Has Solutions for Digestion and Stomach related Ailments….”

  • Gut problems are one of the most common reasons people go to the GP
  • Ancient Indian healing practice of Ayureveda has solutions for digestion
  • Includes drinking warm water with lime or grated ginger in the morning
  • Also recommends using spices like fennel, tumeric and black pepper

Do you often feel bloated and sluggish?

Whether it’s a bout of diarrhoea, heartburn after a heavy meal, or aches and pains, gut problems affect nearly all of us at some point.

In fact, they are one of the most common reasons we go to the pharmacy or see our GP.

Writing for Healthista, Eminé Ali Rushton, author of The Body Balance Diet Plan, explains how methods from Ayurveda, the ancient Indian healing practice, can help.

From using digestive-friendly spices like fennel and ginger, to eating fruit on an empty stomach, here, she shares her tips for banishing bloating…

Gut problems are one of the most common reasons we go to the pharmacy or see our GP (file photograph)

WARM WATER AND LIME IN THE MORNING

Before you do anything in the morning, boil your kettle and fill half a mug with boiling water, then the other half with room temperature filtered water.

Drink as it is, or with a squeeze of lime if you’re feeling bloated or constipated, or with grated ginger if you’re feeling very lethargic.

The feeling of warm water hitting the stomach first thing in the morning is quite incredible because it’s pouring down a pipe that’s not been used in hours.

Try and leave at least 20 minutes before breakfast. It’s the quickest and easiest perk- and pick- me-up there is.

TRY TRIPHALA

Drinking warm water with lime in the morning can kick-start digestion

Drinking warm water with lime in the morning can kick-start digestion

A traditional Ayurvedic remedy for gentle gut cleansing, Triphala is made from three traditional Indian fruits (haritaki, amla and bibhtaki).

It also contains psyllium, liquorice, fennel and linseed – gold- standard gut-clearers.

It can also help your body absorb nutrients from your food.

It’s available in health food stores.

GET SMART ON DIGESTION-FRIENDLY SPICES

Whenever I had an upset tummy as a child, my mother would boil up a generous pinch of fennel seeds in water (the water should boil up and turn a pretty yellow-green colour) and get me to drink it.

Within minutes my stomach used to start to feel better.

Fennel is a truly great gut-calmer, as is ginger, which can be added to all foods or boiled up in hot drinks.

Other spices that are great to add to your diet when you’re feeling off-colour are ginger, ground coriander, turmeric, cumin and black pepper – all of which are Ayurveda’s secret weapons for stoking and restoring digestive fire.

EAT FRUIT AT ROOM TEMPERATURE – ON AN EMPTY STOMACH

Ayurveda is specific about fruit and suggests it is always best eaten on an empty stomach.

So after your glass of warm water in the morning, enjoy ripe fruit at room temperature.

This is how we were meant to eat it – sun-warmed, first thing, fresh from the tree.

When fruit is refrigerator-cold it shocks the stomach, which hinders optimal digestion.

Eating gut-friendly spices like tumeric, ginger, fennel and black pepper can soothe stomach problems

Eating gut-friendly spices like tumeric, ginger, fennel and black pepper can soothe stomach problems

Almost all fruits taste better and sweeter at room temperature – particularly berries, peaches, apricots and melon.

Get into the habit of taking fruit out of the refrigerator the night before and eating it about 40 minutes before breakfast.

Another good time to enjoy fruit is mid-morning, as a snack before lunch, as you want to try to leave a couple of hours on either side – so breakfast before 9am, fruit between 10 and 11am and lunch around 1pm won’t tax those digestive juices.

Always eat fruit at room temperature and on an empty stomach

EAT SLOWER

In Ayurveda, body types are classified into three types, or doshas, called vata, pitta and kapha.

Some doshas really do need to take more time than others over their meals.

Kapha, with their sluggish digestion, benefit from spending a longer time chewing.

Pitta, with their tendency for internal fire, do well to eat quietly in a peaceful spot.

Vata types, who often suffer digestive upset and loose bowels, need to slow down the eating process completely.

They also need to savour each mouthful, and never eat on the go (which is a common tendency with airy, and busy, Vata types).

PROBIOTICS

Achieving optimal gut health (and digestive fire) is at the heart of Ayurveda.

One of the simplest ways to aid digestive fire is to boost your stomach’s healthy bacteria with a proven probiotic blend, particularly after a course of antibiotics or during illness.

I am calling on modern wisdom here.

Obviously ancient Ayurveda doesn’t have a stance on probiotics – but I’ve found, from trial and error, that my digestive fire is always strongest when I support it with probiotics and enzymes.

Eating slowly and savouring each mouthful helps people digest their food and avoid bloating (file photo)

We often hear that our immune system is situated in our gut: what this means is that 70 per cent of the antibacterial and antiviral cells within our body are situated in the walls of the stomach and intestines.

Our stomach also produces acid, which kills off most pathogens, and our small intestine produces mucus, which blocks further potential pathogens from entering our bloodstreams.

So, when your gut lining is weakened, your immunity will also be compromised. I really cannot overstate the importance of a healthy stomach in the pursuit of good overall health!

Words that don’t Mean what you think they Mean…!!!

1. Awesome

Neil Patrick Harris’s character Barney Stinson is perhaps singularly responsible for the misuse of this word.

More often than not, awesome is used interchangeably with ‘excellent’ or ‘great’.

Eg. X: I’ve completed the assignment

Y: Awesome

Ouch!

What ‘awesome’ means: something that inspires awe or an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration, or fear.

2. Literally

It is amazing how often we say ‘literally’ when we mean something figuratively, its exact opposite.

For eg. When Katrina Kaif sat next to me I could have literally died.

Now this would’ve been perfect if Katrina Kaif was, let’s say, infected with a deadly virus capable of killing anyone she sat next to.

Except, the last time we checked, she isn’t. 🙂

When you say literally, you mean something that is word for word.

Eg. When he heard the story, he literally fell off the chair laughing!
3. Anniversary

Some of us just look for reasons to celebrate… stuff like our five-month anniversary of our first date… don’t we?

The thing about anniversary is that it comes once a year. Quite like your birthday!

An anniversary is when you celebrate or commemorate an event that occurred on the very same date and month.

So you celebrate your first wedding anniversary or the third anniversary of someone’s death.

Just like you don’t celebrate your ‘three-month birthday’ you also don’t celebrate your ‘three-month anniversary’.

Though we suppose if you are one of those who love celebrations, you’ll find a reason to pop the champagne anyway. 🙂
4. Travesty

Here’s another oft-misused word.

What most of us think it means: a tragedy, an unfortunate event

What it actually means: a mockery or a parody

You could argue that Salman Khan being granted bail was a travesty of justice.

But to say that his running over a group of homeless people was travesty would be, well, murder of the English language.

5. Irony

The Oxford English dictionary defines irony as ‘a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often wryly amusing as a result’.

For eg. It was ironic for Tony Stark to think that Ultron would protect the world from destruction.

What we often think it means: a funny coincidence

For eg. Isn’t it ironic that we should meet Amitabh Bachchan in an elevator just after having spoken about him at dinner?

The answer to that question is no 🙂

Though it would be a wonderful coincidence.

6. Ultimate

It is fitting that we end this list with ‘ultimate’.

What most of us think it means: The best

What it really means: The last item on a list 🙂

A Cheat Sheet to Increase Your Savings….!!!

You can still save a little more than you already are by changing a few spending habits. Here are some life hacks that will lead you onto the path of greater savings.

All of us know that in order to build wealth over the long term, we need to save diligently and in a disciplined manner. But every now and then you feel like giving into temptation and make impulse purchases that impact your savings. The trick to long-term wealth creation is to save efficiently and that can require a little bit of inspiration. So, here’s some for you.

Do you think you have run out of all ideas of how to save money, and there is no way that you can save more? Well then, here is some good news for you!

The cash only policy

Plastic money, like debit and credit cards are easy to use, and may just be the tap from where your hard earned money flows away. The fact the e-commerce is so attractive now giving deals everyday is fact that does not help either. You promise yourself that it’s the last thing you are buying for yourself in a month and then you go ahead and spend some more! If you are reading this with a pang of guilt right now, we have an idea for you.

  • Remove your card details from the online shopping sites that you use them in and put your cards away in a drawer or some other safe place where you will not be tempted to touch them.
  • Think 20th century and live on cash only at least for two weeks.
  • Use cash to pay everything from your daily expenses and shopping (if your budget still permits it).
  • Live this lifestyle for at least two weeks to a month (if you can exercise restraint for that long!) and you will be surprised on the amount of money you will have saved by the end of the month.
  • The cash you save can be used to pay back the outstanding amount on your credit card. Paying outstanding balances in full is also a sure shot way of maintaining a good CIBIL score, so make sure you give this topmost priority.

Ignore the extra cash

Rare as these occasions might be, you are likely to a get a windfall sometimes in the form of a bonus, a raise that comes with a promotion or a tax refund.

Instead of splurging it on the new gadget you have been eyeing, ignore it completely and put it away right then! If you have a substantial amount pending on your credit card or your emergency fund is not quite replenished, use the extra money to take care of these issues right away.

Take our word for it: the feeling that your debt pile is under control or you have enough funds to fall back on in case of a sudden unpleasant change in life is a much better feeling than basking in the glow of a new gadget!

Wait up before the big purchase

So you have been eyeing the latest smartphone, the sleek laptop or the LED TV that will simply liven up your living room? If you are thinking about making some such big purchase, we urge you to wait up for at least seven days before you go ahead and do it.

Use this time to take a look at your financial plan and whether or not you are on track.

Ask yourself what will be the impact of such a purchase on your finances. If you are really honest, chances are you will find out that your financial security is a better option rather than the fancy TV or the latest smartphone!

Go on auto pilot mode

Thanks to the advances in technology it is easy to put your savings on auto pilot mode. This means that you can use the electronic clearing system or ECS to direct your money into any investment vehicle, whether it is a MF scheme, an emergency fund or a pension scheme. Not only is it easy to track your investments this way, it will give you the mental peace of having saved automatically each month without making any extra effort.

By putting these methods to good use you will realise over time that you have not only saved a greater amount of money, but your debt pile is also under control. All of these habits will help you maintain a good CIBIL score. A good CIBIL score can be your ticket to access credit when you are in need of it.

We are not saying that these are the most pleasant things to do, and may be painful too at times, but if you do manage to implement them, you will surely have created wealth over the long term, and that, we can assure you is an intensely satisfying feeling!

World’s Tastiest Vegetarian Dish….

Misal Pav, the delicious Maharashtrian snack served at Mumbai’s Aaswad restaurant won the prize at the global Foodie Hub Awards in London.

The humble misal pav served at Dadar’s Aaswad restaurant has been named the world’s tastiest vegetarian dish at the Foodie Hub Awards in London.

Misal is a spicy curry made of moth beans or dried peas and served with boiled potatoes and garnished with raw chopped onions and farsan.

Often served with curds and pav (or bread), misal is a breakfast snack that is also eaten at lunchtime.

With its roots in the Kolhapur region of Maharashtra, the dish has several variations across the state.

Some variations get their names from the ingredients that go into it: Dahi Misal is misal served with curds and Shev Misal is, well, served with sev.

But most variations simply take the name from the region they are served in:

Puneri misal: Pune.

Khandheshi misal has its roots in Khandesh, the region in northwestern Maharashtra.

Nagpuri misal: Nagpur.

In Pune the spices are toned down but Mumbaikars prefer it spicy, says Kalyan Karmarkar who is the Foodie Hub Expert for Mumbai and who nominated Aaswad’s misal for the awards.

Kolhapur, largely believed to be the home of the misal, serves the spiciest variation of it and is called the Kolhapuri misal.

Located in the heart of Dadar in central Mumbai, just a hop-skip-and-jump from the headquarters of the Maharashtrian right wing political party, Shiv Sena, Aaswad was inaugurated by the late Bal Thackeray in 1986.

Today, Aaswad serves some 400 plates of misal pav every day.

Suryakant Sarjoshi, Aaswad’s owner who seems rather chuffed with this honour, tells us that it earns the restaurant about Rs 19,000 daily.

Then there is Vilas Taral who gives us a crash course in making the misal:

First moth beans, garlic and onions are boiled in water along with curry leaves.

Add grated coconut and misal masala and continue to boil.

Separately heat two tablespoons of oil and add mustard seeds, asafoetida, cumin seeds and garlic and add to the curry.

The final flourish comes in the form of farsan, sev, onions and tamarind chutney.

The dish is typically served with bread and butter.

Among several patrons of the restaurant is Vilas Gurav (62), a former police officer who was enjoying the dish when we arrived.

“I travelled all the way from south Mumbai just to have this misal. The quality is outstanding,” he says.

It is a sentiment that Kalyan Karmarkar echoes.

“Aaswad’s misal is always fresh, the amount of spices added is perfect and the quality of the farsan is very good. It doesn’t make you feel heavy because they don’t use inferior oil,” he says.

Besides misal, Aaswad is also famous for several other Maharashtrian dishes such as the thalipith, kothambir wadi, piyush and aam panna.

As with all Indian dishes, misal is made differently across the state.

Every home has its unique misal recipe.

Message for the Day…” Start Practising Some Spiritual Discipline to realise HIM …”

These days, people are content to visualise and experience evanescent worldly joys. People have no rest. Spending the nights in sleep and days in eating and drinking, they grow and grow, until, in old age, death pursues them. Then, they can’t decide where to go or what to do; all senses have weakened. No one and nothing can rescue them, so they end as obedient meat in the jaws of death! How sad it is that this human life, precious as an invaluable diamond that can’t be priced at all, has been cheapened to the standard of a worn-out worthless coin! There is no use repenting later without meditating on God or practising some spiritual discipline to realise Him now. It is the right of the aspirant (sadhaka) to have the vision of God and not the sight of death (Yama-darshan)!

” China’s First Aircraft carrier….Truth or Fiction …” ? …An Answer Here…

A forwarded email is getting circulated now  with images that says China has built its first aircraft carrier. The new ship is multi-hulled, a superstructure on two pontoons, and has two helipad below the stern.

The Truth:

China has introduced its first aircraft carrier but, according to a June 8, 2011 BBC News article, the vessel is nothing close to what is described in this eRumor.

The article said that the carrier is actually a refit of a Soviet carrier, named the Varyag, which was built in 1985 but was never completed.   The rusting hull was purchased from Russia in 1989 for $20,000,000U.S. and the semi-completed vessel now sits tied to a berth in the Chinese port of Dalian undergoing the finishing touches before her first cruise, which is anticipated in the next few months.   A life-sized model of the carrier was constructed on land several miles away so that the Chinese navy could train her crew while work was being completed on the new carrier.

The BBC also said that China does plan to build 6 more carriers in the next 10 to 20 years but no designs have been released to the public at this time.   Currently, the U.S. has 11 aircraft carriers in operation and Italy has 2.   The United Kingdom, France, Thailand, Brazil, Spain, Russia and India each have one carrier.

A real example of the eRumor as it has appeared on the Internet:

China’s new aircraft carrier! Wow!

These aircraft carriers look formidable and of ultra modern design. There are reports the 1st Chinese aircraft carrier is under construction and could enter service around 2015 or earlier. It won’t be long before we see the real thing. Defense analysts are waiting; watching anxiously.

“THIS IS QUANTUM LEAP ABOVE ANYTHING WE HAVE ON THE DRAWING BOARD. THEY HAVE THOUGHT ” OUTSIDE THE BOX ” ON THIS ONE. BETTER SPEED, LARGER CAPACITY, MUCH MORE STABLE, ETC. DEFINITELY A ” BLUE-WATER ” LONG REACH VESSEL.

PLUS THEY CAN SERVICE THEIR NUKE SUB FLEET IN-BETWEEN THE TWIN HULLS ( SIGHT UNSEEN ) OR EVEN LAUNCH AMPHIBIOUS OPPS FROM SAME. IT WILL BE LAUNCHED IN HALF THE TIME IT TAKES THE USA AT JUST ONE-THIRD THE COST. ADD THE NEW CHINESE STEALTH FIGHTER BOMBER ( NAVAL VERSION ALREADY FLIGHT TESTING ) IN THE MIX AND YOU HAVE THE MAKINGS OF A FORMIDABLE WEAPONS SYSTEM INDEED..

ALSO LOOK AT THAT EXTRA ”PARKING AND READINESS” STATION BETWEEN BOTH HULL STRUCTURES.. AND OF COURSE THE LAUNCHING AND LANDING CAPABILITIES FROM THE UTILISATION OF TWIN FLIGHT DECKS AT ONCE

P.S. SOME THOUGHT SHOULD BE GIVEN TO ADVISING YOUR GRANDCHILDREN TO LEARN TO SPEAK MANDARIN ( FORGET SPANISH ) MY ” VERY, VERY BRIGHT ” 15-YEAR OLD 3rd COUSIN HAS ALREADY BEEN ADVISED TO DO SO BY PEOPLE WHO KNOW ABOUT SUCH THINGS.

P.P.S SIX OF THESE VESSELS ( TWO PACIFIC, TWO ATLANTIC, ONE INDIAN OCEAN AND ONE MED SEA ) WOULD BE A PRETTY GOOD DIPLOMATIC ” BIG STICK “. NOTE : THE CHINESE ARE ALREADY DRILLING FOR OIL OFF CUBA . BRAZIL AND VENEZUELA . CAN THEY BUILD A FLEET OF THESE THINGS ???

A FEW FACTS: THE CHINESE HAVE COMPLETED THE WORLD’S BIGGEST DAM ( THREE GORGES ),
THE WORLD’S LONGEST OVER-WATER BRIDGE ( 65 TIMES AS MUCH STEEL AS IN THE EIFFEL TOWER ).
CONSTRUCTED A 15.000 ‘ HIGH RAILROAD INTO TIBET (ALL CONSIDERED MAJOR ENGINEERING FEATS).

THEY ARE THE ONLY NATION OTHER THAN RUSSIA THAT CAN LAUNCH MEN INTO OUTER SPACE ( OUR CAPABILITY ENDS WITH THE LAST SPACE SHUTTLE LAUNCH THIS MONTH ).
THEY HAVE ALSO SHOT DOWN A SURVEILLANCE SATELLITE ( ONE OF THEIR OWN ) FROM THE GROUND. PLUS THEY ” OWN OUR ASS ” IN THE INTERNATIONAL DEBT GAME.

CHINA’S NEW A/C CARRIER COULD BE TWICE AS FAST AS ANYTHING WE HAVE, PLUS THE STABILITY OF A CATAMARAN TYPE HULL WILL GREATLY REDUCE THE PITCHING, YAWING AND SWAYING COMMON TO OUR PRESENT DESIGNS.”
