2013 was a heck of a year. A lot has happened, for good and bad. We’ve said goodbye to some people that have shaped our world, have seen destruction and devestation by both nature and humans, and have seen some major changes take place in the world arena. All in all, a year heavy with significance, and here’s a short summary by Google to click it into place.

A minute passed. Nothing happened.
Finally the lawyer said, “Actually, I made up the previous statement. But
you all looked on with anticipation. I, therefore, put it to you that you
have a reasonable doubt in this case as to whether anyone was killed, and
I insist that you return a verdict of not guilty.”
The jury retired to deliberate. A few minutes later, the jury returned
and pronounced a verdict of guilty.
“But how?” inquired the lawyer. “You must have had some doubt; I saw all
of you stare at the door.”
The jury foreman replied:
“Yes, we did look, But your client didn’t.”

கல்கத்தாவில், அந்த பக்தை கணவருடன் , அப்போது அவரது வேலை நிமித்தமாக இருந்த கால கட்டத்தில் நடந்த சம்பவம்.
அன்றும் கணவர் ஆபீஸ் போன அப்புறம் வாசலில் பெல் அடித்ததும் , கதவை திறந்தார் , அந்த பெண்மணி . நக்சலைட்டுகள் 3- 4 பேர் திமு திமு என்று உள்ளே நுழைந்தும் என்ன செய்ய, என்றே தெரியாத அவர் தன்னை கொல்ல அவர்கள் தயாராக இருப்பதை அவர்கள் பேச்சின் மூலம் புரிந்து கொண்டார்.
பயத்தில் வெலவெலத்து போன அந்த மாது அவர்கள் கேட்ட படி சாய் போட்டு கொடுத்து விட்டு, அவர்களிடம் ஒரு போன்கால் போட்டு கொள்ள அனுமதி கேட்டார்.
சென்னையில் விடுதிஇல் படித்து வரும் தன் அன்பு குழந்தைகளிடம் ஒரு நிமிடம் பேசினார் .
நாளை எந்த செய்தி கேட்டாலும் அதை சுவாமி கொடுத்தது என்று எடுத்துகொள்ள வேண்டும் என்றார். வீட்டின் ஹால் பகுதிக்கு வந்த அவர் , பெரியவா படத்தையும் அதை அடுத்து இருக்கும் காளி மாதாவின் படத்தையும் பார்த்து பூரண பக்தி யோடு நமஸ்கரித்தார் . இன்னிக்கு ஏகாதேசி .இன்று இந்த சோதனைக்கு உளாகி இருக்கேனே என்று வருத்தப்பட்டார்
அவர்களை பார்த்து ஓரே போடாக போட்டு விடுங்கள். வேறு ஒன்றும் என்னை செய்து விடாதீர்கள் என்று மனமுருக சொன்னார். பெரியவா படத்தை பார்த்து மனமுருகி வேண்டினார். தரையில் அவரை வேண்டி கொண்டே படுத்தார்
அப்ப அந்த அதிசயம் நடந்தது. நக்சலைட்டுகள் மேலே பார்த்தவர்கள் கண்ணுக்கு , பெரியவா போட்டோ இருந்த இடத்தில் பயங்கர உருவத்தோடு பவதாரிணி காட்சி கொடுத்தாள் .காளி பக்தர்கள் ஆன அவர்கள் திகைத்து போனார்கள் .
ஒரு காளி இருந்த இடத்தில இப்ப எப்படி ரெண்டாவது உக்ர காளி வந்தாள் என்று ஸ்தம்பித்து போனார்கள். காளியை மதிக்கும் அவர்கள் அந்த அம்மையாரையும் அம்பாள் ரூபமாக பார்க்க தொடங்கினர்.
“மன்னித்து விடுங்கள் தாயே ” என்று எடுத்தனர் ஓட்டம் .
கணவர் வந்தவுடன் கண்ணீரை அடக்க முடியாமல் சொரிந்த அந்த மாது உடனே பெரியவாளை பார்க்க காஞ்சிக்கு புறப்பட்டார். மடத்தில் என்றும் போல அன்றும் ஒரே கூட்டம் . வரிசையில் வந்த அந்த பெண்மணி பக்தி பெருக்கோடு கலங்கிய கண்களோடு பெர்யவாளை நமஸ்கரிக்க , “காமாக்ஷி காப்பதினாளா ” என்று ஒரே வார்த்தையில் நடந்தது எல்லாம் தனக்கு தெரியும் என்பதை உணர்த்தினார் உம்மாச்சி தாத்தா.
உண்மையான குரு பக்திக்கு என்றும் ஒரு குறையும் வராது .

People suffer from two types of agony – the first one can be allayed through others’ intercession and the second can be allayed only by your own effort. The illness you face today is due to some infection. Your illness is caused by the viruses of desire, anger, greed, delusion, pride, jealousy (Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha and Mathsarya). These viruses prevent your Divinity from shining forth; they cause discontent, worry, grief and pain. You can overcome them by manifesting your inner strength. Do not yield, fight them with the faith that you are eternal and unconquerable.
You must develop a sense of spiritual oneness. Out of that sense of oneness, love will grow. Love alone can bind the whole of humanity into one unit. What do you see in the precincts of Prashanthi Nilayam? People gather from Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and all parts of the world. What has brought them together in this small village? It is only love and the sense of oneness shared with others. The bliss of life is embedded in love, and it gives you pure bliss. When your life dances on the waves of this love, it attains fulfillment. Love and Sacrifice (Prema and Thyaga) are the two most important ideals in life. Love all, even those who hate you. That is the index of your devotion. Peace, truth and love are inherent in every being. Why do you search for them outside? Manifest these qualities which are within you. Cultivate forbearance and compassion. This is the way to foster the love principle

Man can learn any number of good qualities from animals, birds, insects and worms. The animal, donkey is viewed with contempt. But the quality of patience to be found in a donkey is not found even in man. Whatever burdens may be heaped on its back, it bears them all with forbearance. Even when it is starved of food and water, it presents a calm face. Man has thus to learn the quality of forbearance from the donkey. The ant is one of the tiniest among insects. But the ant has a capacity for foresight; with foreknowledge of the rainy season ahead, it starts storing food from three months in advance. Then, there is the spider – Determination is one of its traits. How many times its web may be destroyed or broken, the spider will go on remaking it with relentless determination.

True education means trying to manifest the inner divinity in man. How is this manifestation to be brought about? Students must receive education that illumines every aspect of life – the economic, the political, the moral, the spiritual and the physical, the mental and the social environment of man. It should not be confined to one specific sphere. Many students consider book knowledge as education. This gives them only superficial knowledge. They need practical knowledge which will enable them to lead righteous lives. Education should also result in the purification of the heart. Men and women must be taught to be sincere in thought, word and deed, as a mark of humanness. Students must also revere their parents at all times and promote the cause of social improvement. They must co-operate with all fellow-beings. These are the things all students should learn.
Just as a child is entitled to enjoy the milk from its mother, there can be no objection to man enjoying the resources of nature. But as a result of uncontrolled desires and reckless exploitation of natural resources, Nature is exhibiting frightening disorders. Natural calamities like earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, droughts and floods are the result of disturbances in the balance of Nature caused by this reckless exploitation. Mankind today appears like a foolish man who is wielding the axe at the branch of a tree on which he is sitting. You have to develop a sense of spiritual oneness. Out of that sense of oneness, love will grow. Man today does not recognise this sense of oneness. ‘Man’ is not the body alone. One has the mind, intellect and the Spirit (Atma) too. When the balance among these constituents is upset, people are plunged into troubles. On the other hand, when there is a balance, true humanness blossoms.
வடநாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த பெரிய தொழிலதிபர். பிரபலமானவர். அவர் தன் குடும்பத்தாருடன் ஆசாரிய ஸ்வாமிகளைத் தரிசிக்க வந்தார். முன்பு ஸ்வாமிகள் வடநாட்டு யாத்திரை சென்றபோது ஸ்வாமிகளின் குழுவினருக்கு மிகவும் உதவியாக இருந்தவர். புன்னகையுடன் அந்தத் தொழிலதிபரைப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார் ஆசாரிய ஸ்வாமிகள்.
என்ன சொல்லப் போகிறார் என்பதை முன்கூட்டியே ஸ்வாமிகள் புரிந்திருப்பார் போலும்.
“இப்ப பெரிய தொகையை தர்ம காரியங்களுக்கு உதவப் போகிறேன். இனி வருடா வருடம் எங்கள் கம்பெனிகளின் வருமானத்தில் கொஞ்சம் பணத்தை தர்ம காரியங்களுக்கு உதவ முடிவுசெய்து இருக்கிறோம். அந்தப் பணத்தைத் தங்கள் இஷ்டப்படி தர்ம காரியங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்து விடுங்கள் ஸ்வாமி!” என்று பெரிய தொகையை செக்கில் எழுதிக் கொடுத்தார் தொழிலதிபர். அவரது மகனும் மனைவியும் “ஆமாம் ஸ்வாமி, நாங்கள் சம்பாதிப்பதில் ஒரு பகுதி தர்மத்துக்குக் கொடுக்கணும்னு முடிவு செஞ்சு இருக்கோம். இதுக்கு ஸ்வாமிகளின் அநுக்கிரஹம் வேணும்” என்றார்கள்.
செக்கைப் பார்த்தார் ஸ்வாமிகள். மிகப் பெரிய தொகை குறிப்பிடப்பட்டு இருந்தது செக்கில். பிரமித்தார். சிலிர்த்தார். மகிழ்ந்தார். அந்தத் தொழிலதிபரின் மனம் ஜாதியைக் கடந்து மாநிலத்தைக் கடந்து விரிந்து இருப்பதைப் புரிந்து கொண்டு அந்தக் குடும்பத்தின் மீது அருள் பார்வை செலுத்தினார். மௌனமாக ஸ்வாமிகளைத் தரிசித்தவண்ணம் இருந்தது அந்தக் குடும்பம்.
“உங்க தயாள குணத்தைக் கண்டு ரொம்ப சந்தோஷம். உங்க கம்பெனிகள் நன்னா இருக்கும். வருடாவருடம் லாபத்தில் ஒரு சிறு பகுதியை தர்ம காரியத்துக்குக் கொடுக்கப் போறேள். உங்க கம்பெனிகளின் லாபத்தில் சிறுபகுதி என்பது பெரிய தொகையாக இருக்கும். நான் சந்நியாசி. என் பொறுப்பில் இவ்வளவு பணம் இருக்க வேண்டாம். நீங்களே உங்கள் முன்னோர் பெயரில் ஒரு தர்மஸ்தாபனம் அமைத்து இந்தப் பணத்தையும் வருடா வருடம் லாபத்தில் சிறு பகுதியையும் அந்த தர்ம ஸ்தாபனத்தில் செலுத்துங்கள். அந்த தர்மஸ்தாபனம் மனிதநேயத்துடன் மக்களுக்கு உதவட்டும். நீங்களே ஒரு குழு அமைத்து அந்த தர்ம ஸ்தாபனத்தை நடத்துங்கள். என் ஆசி உங்களுக்கு என்றும் உண்டு” என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டே அந்த செக்கைத் திரும்பக் கொடுத்தார் ஸ்வாமிகள்.
ஸ்வாமிகளின் செயலைக் கண்டு சிலிர்த்தார் தொழிலதிபர். முற்றும் துறந்த முனிவர் என்றால் இவர்தான் என்று எண்ணிய தொழிலதிபர் “ஸ்வாமி! தாங்கள் சொல்வது போல் தர்மஸ்தாபனம் அமைத்துச் செயல்படுகிறேன். முதல் காரியமாக தாங்கள் சொல்லும் திருப்பணியைச் செய்கிறேன். உத்தரவு வேணும் ஸ்வாமி!” என்று கேட்டார் தொழிலதிபர்.
சற்று நேரம் யோசனை செய்தார். சிதிலம் அடைந்த புராதனமான ஒரு கோயிலைச் சீரமைத்துக் கும்பாபிஷேகம் செய்யச் சொன்னார். அதைச் செய்ய ஒப்புக் கொண்டார் தொழிலதிபர்.
