ஒருநாள் காலை தர்சனத்துக்கு ஒரு வயஸான தம்பதி வந்திருந்தனர். பெரியவா ஒரு வாதா மரத்தின் கீழ் அமர்ந்து தர்சனம் குடுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். தம்பதிகள் பழங்களை சமர்ப்பித்துவிட்டு நமஸ்கரித்தனர்.

“இதே மாதிரி வாதா மரம் ஒங்காத்து வாசல்ல இருந்துதே!……இன்னும் இருக்கோ?….”

“ஆமா…இன்னும் இருக்கு! பெரியவா பாத்து இருவது வர்ஷத்துக்கு மேலேயே இருக்கும்….இப்போ நன்னா பெருஸா வளந்திருக்கு; நெறைய காயக்கறது; தெருப் பசங்க கல்லை விட்டெறிஞ்சு வாதம் பழத்தை பொறுக்கித் திங்கறதுகள்..”

“கூடத்ல ஒரு பத்தாயம் இருந்துதே!….அதுல கரையான் அரிச்சு ரிப்பேர் பண்றா..ப்ல ஆயிருந்துதே!..”

“ஆமா….அத அப்போவே ரிப்பேர் பண்ணியாச்சு. அதுலதான் சாப்பாட்டு நெல்லைக் கொட்டி வெக்கறோம்….”

“ஒரு சே…ப்பு பசுமாடு கன்னு போடாம இருந்துதே!…..”

“அது ஆறு கன்னு போட்டுது பெரியவா…..இப்போ, சமீபத்லதான் தவறிப் போச்சு. எல்லாக் கன்னும் நன்னா இருக்கு…நல்ல வம்சம்….”

“ஐயங்கார் கணக்குப்பிள்ளை இருந்தாரே! திருநக்ஷத்ரம் எம்பதுக்கு மேலே இருக்குமோ இப்போ?….”

“சதாபிஷேகத்துக்கு ரெண்டு வர்ஷம் முன்னாடி, வைகுண்டம் போய்ட்டார் பெரியவா….”

“எட்டுக்குடி முருகனுக்கு தைப்பூசம் காவடி எடுக்கற வழக்கமாச்சே! ஒங்க புத்ராள் யாராவுது வந்து காவடி எடுக்கறாளா?…”

“பெரியவா க்ருபைல எட்டுக்குடி முருகன் கைங்கர்யம் நடந்துண்டிருக்கு..”

“வடுவூர் துரைஸ்வாமி ஐயங்கார், வை.மு.கோதைநாயகி அம்மாள்,பம்மல் சம்மந்த முதலியார் நாவல்கள், மதனகாமராஜன், விக்ரமாதித்தன் புஸ்தகங்கள் எல்லாம் அலமாரி நெறைய இருந்துதே! இருக்கா? யாராவுது படிக்கறாளா?….”

“எல்லாப் புஸ்தகமும் இருக்கு…ஆனா யாரும் படிக்கறதில்லே பெரியவா…..”

“ராமாயண பாராயணம் பண்ணிண்டிருந்தியே! நடக்கறதா..?”

“கண் செரியாத் தெரியறதில்லே, அதுனால ஒரு சர்க்கம் மட்டும் படிக்கிறேன்…”

கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்த பாட்டிக்கு ஆச்சர்யமான ஆச்சர்யம்! பாட்டி சொன்னாள்….”எத்தனையோ வர்ஷத்துக்கு முன்னாடி பெரியவா எங்க க்ராமத்துக்கு வந்தப்போ, எங்காத்துக்கு வந்து, கொஞ்ச நேரம் இருந்திருப்பேள் …..ஆனா, எப்டி இத்தனை நுணுக்கமா எல்லாத்தையும் பாத்து, இத்தனை வர்ஷத்துக்கப்புறம் கூட எதையுமே மறக்காம, அவ்வளவு ஞாபகமாக் கேக்கறேளே!…பெரியவா கேட்டதுல பாதி விஷயங்கள், அந்தாத்துல இருக்கற நேக்கே நெனைவுல இல்லே!……”

பெரியவா படாரென்று ஒரு பெரிய விஷயத்தை போட்டுடைத்தார்……..

“ஆமா……இதெல்லாம் என்ன ஞாபகசக்தி? ஈஸ்வரன் ஞாபகம் எப்பவுமே இருக்க மாட்டேங்கறதே!…” ஸூர்யனுக்கு அக்னியின் நினைவு இல்லையாம்!!

குறை என்று வரும்போது, பெரியவா மாதிரி மஹான்கள் தங்களை முன்னிறுத்தி சொல்லுவார்கள். நம்மை மாதிரி அல்பங்களோ, குறை என்றால் அடுத்தவர்களைத்தான் முன்னிறுத்திச் சொல்லுவோம்.

God Has His Own Plans !!!!

Once there was a sweeper in a temple. Being very devoted and sincere, he thought that the lord standing all the time and giving help must be feeling very tired.

So one day very innocently he asked the lord whether he can take his place for a day so that the lord can have some relief and rest.

The deity of the temple replied, “I do not mind taking a break. I will transform you like myself, but you must do one thing.

You must just stand here like me, smile at everyone and just give benedictions. Do not interfere with anything and do not say anything.

Remember you are the deity and you just have faith that I have a master plan for everything.”

The sweeper agreed to this.

The next day the sweeper took the position. First a rich man came and prayed to the lord. offered a small donation and prayed that his business should be prosperous.

While going, the rich man inadvertently left his wallet full of money right there.

Now the sweeper in the form of deity could not call him and so he decided to control himself and keep quiet.

Just then a poor man came and he put one coin in the bowl and said that it was all he could afford and he prayed to the lord that he should continue to be engaged in the lord’s service.

He also said that his family was in dire need of some basic needs but he left it to the good hands of the lord to give some solution.

When he opened his eyes, he saw the wallet left by the rich man.

The poor man thanked the lord for his kindness and took the wallet very innocently.

The sweeper in the form of the deity could not say anything and he had to just keep smiling.

At that point a sailor walked in. He prayed for his safe journey as he was going on a long trip.

Just then the rich man came with the police and said that somebody has stolen his wallet and seeing the sailor there, he asked the police to arrest him thinking that he might have taken it.

Now the sweeper in the form of deity wanted to say that the sailor is not the thief but he could not say so and he became greatly frustrated.

The sailor looked at the lord and asked why he, an innocent person, is being punished.

The rich man looked at the lord and thanked Him for finding the thief.

The sweeper in the deity form could no more tolerate it, and he thought that even if the real lord had been here, he would have definitely interfered, and hence he started speaking and said that the sailor is not the thief but it was the poor man who took away the wallet. The rich man was very thankful as was the sailor.

In the night, the real lord came and He asked the sweeper how the day was.

The sweeper said, “I thought it would be easy, but now I know that Your days are not easy, but I did one good thing.”

Then he explained the whole episode to the lord.

The lord became very upset on hearing this whereas the sweeper thought the lord would appreciate him for the good deed done.

The lord asked, “Why did you not just stick to the plan? You had no faith in Me. Do you think that I do not understand the hearts of all those who come here?

All the donations which the rich man gave was all stolen money and it is only a fraction of what he really has and he wants me to reciprocate unlimitedly.

The single coin offered by the poor man was the last coin he had and he gave it to me out of faith.

The sailor was to die because of bad weather but if he would’ve been arrested and in the jail, he would have been saved from a greater calamity.

I intended the wallet should go to the poor man because he will use it in my service.

I was going to reduce the rich man’s karma also by doing this and save the sailor also.

But you cancelled everything because you made your own plans.”

Moral — God has plans and justice for everyone….we just have to have patience!

ராமாயணக் கதை முழுதும் ‘அ’ என்று ஆரம்பிக்கும் வார்த்தைகளால்
வடிவமைக்கப் பட்டுள்ளது.

அனந்தனே அசுரர்களை அழித்து,
அன்பர்களுக்கு அருள அயோத்தி
அரசனாக அவதரித்தான்.

அப்போது அரிக்கு அரணாக அரசனின்
அம்சமாக அனுமனும் அவதரித்ததாக
அறிகிறோம்.அன்று அஞ்சனை அவனிக்கு
அளித்த அன்பளிப்பு அல்லவா அனுமன் ?

அவனே அறிவழகன்,அன்பழகன்,அன்பர்களை
அரவ-ணைத்து அருளும் அருட்செல்வன்!

அயோத்தி அடலேறு, அம்மிதிலை அரசவையில்
அரசனின் அரியவில்லை அடக்கி, அன்பும்
அடக்கமும் அங்கங்களாக அமைந்த அழகியை
அடைந்தான்.

அரியணையில் அமரும் அருகதை அண்ணனாகிய
அனந்தராமனுக்கே! அப்படியிருக்க அந்தோ !
அக்கைகேயி அசூயையால் அயோத்தி அரசனுக்கும்
அடங்காமல் அநியாயமாக அவனை அரண்யத்துக்கு
அனுப்பினாள்.

அங்கேயும் அபாயம்!அரக்கர்களின் அரசன் ,
அன்னையின் அழகால் அறிவிழந்து அபலையை
அபகரித்தான்

அத்தசமுகனின் அக்கிரமங்களுக்கு, அட்டூழியங்களுக்கு
அளவேயில்லை. அயோத்தி அண்ணல், அன்னை
அங்கிருந்து அகன்றதால் அடைந்த அவதிக்கும்
அளவில்லை.

அத்தருணத்தில் அனுமனும், அனைவரும் அரியை
அடிபணிந்து, அவனையே அடைக்கலமாக அடைந்தனர்.

அந்த அடியார்களில் அருகதையுள்ள அன்பனை
அரசனாக அரியணையில் அமர்த்தினர்.

அடுத்து அன்னைக்காக அவ்வானரர் அனைவரும்
அவனியில் அங்குமிங்கும் அலைந்தனர், அலசினர்.
அனுமன், அலைகடலை அலட்சியமாக அடியெடுத்து
அளந்து அக்கரையை அடைந்தான்.

அசோகமரத்தின் அடியில், அரக்கிகள் அயர்ந்திருக்க
அன்னையை அடிபணிந்து அண்ணலின்
அடையாளமாகிய அக்கணையாழியை அவளிடம்
அளித்தான்

அன்னை அனுபவித்த அளவற்ற அவதிகள்
அநேகமாக அணைந்தன. அன்னையின் அன்பையும்
அருளாசியையும் அக்கணமே அடைந்தான் அனுமன்.

அடுத்து, அரக்கர்களை அலறடித்து , அவர்களின்
அரண்களை, அகந்தைகளை அடியோடு அக்கினியால்
அழித்த அனுமனின் அட்டகாசம், அசாத்தியமான
அதிசாகசம்.

அனந்தராமன் அலைகடலின் அதிபதியை
அடக்கி, அதிசயமான அணையை
அமைத்து, அக்கரையை அடைந்தான்.

அரக்கன் அத்தசமுகனை அமரில் அயனின்
அஸ்திரத்தால் அழித்தான்.

அக்கினியில் அயராமல் அர்ப்பணித்த அன்னை
அவள் அதி அற்புதமாய் அண்ணலை அடைந்தாள்.

அன்னையுடன் அயோத்தியை அடைந்து
அரியணையில் அமர்ந்து அருளினான்

அண்ணல், அனந்த ராமனின் அவதார
அருங்கதை அகரத்திலேயே அடுக்கடுக்காக
அமைந்ததும் அனுமனின் அருளாலே.

How Swami Sathya Sai “s Vibuthi Turned Sunil Gavaskar Fit For Test Match !!!!!

How Vibhuti allowed Sunil Gavaskar to play in Australia.

Shammi Paranjape, a close relative of Sunil Gavaskar (sister-in-law), shares this amazing episode that happened miles away down under in Australia:

“One of the very first experiences Sunil Gavaskar had was during the Indian tour of Australia in 1977, when Bishen Singh Bedi was captain of the Indian cricket team.

During the three-day match against Victoria, Sunil slipped on the ground while fielding and tore a muscle in his thigh. It turned out to be a severe injury. In those days, the Indian team did not have a physiotherapist traveling with them, so Sunil’s injury was shown to the home team’s physiotherapist.

After he was examined, Sunil was informed that it was a severely torn muscle and he would be out of the game for the next six weeks. This was a big blow as the next Test match was starting within a week’s time.

Sunil was in excruciating pain and unable to stand or put any pressure on the right leg. He phoned Pammi (his wife) in India and informed her about this development. Pammi immediately told him, ‘Apply Baba’s Vibhuti’.

Sunil said that he had none with him. ‘I’ll send you some right away. Apply it in the affected area, I’m sure it will work’, she replied.

The prospect of Sunil being fit enough to play for the next Test, which was four days away, seemed a total impossibility, so he was not picked for that particular match in the Test squad. In the meanwhile, Sushil Doshi, one of the Hindi commentators of All India Radio happened to be leaving for Australia.

Pammi arranged to send Baba’s Vibhuti through him. Sushil Doshi arrived two days prior to the Test match in Brisbane and handed over the Vibhuti packet to Sunil. Sunil, who was still hobbling around with that painful leg immediately applied almost half of the Vibhuti packet on the affected area hoping for a miracle.”

For what happened next, let Sunil Gavaskar himself relate:

“After I started applying Vibhuti, there was marked improvement and on the eve of the Test Match, I requested the team management not to rule me out but to have a fitness test on the morning of the Test Match. From barely being able to put weight on my leg, I was able to walk comfortably in just two days. But there was a stiff soreness that was worrying.

On the morning of the match, I applied Vibhuti to the leg and went to the ground. That was going to be my first attempt to try and run after a gap of eight days.

Even as I stepped on to the ground to give my fitness trial, I realised that the stiffness was almost gone. At the Queensland Cricket Ground in those days, you had to descend a few steps to the ground and it was these few steps which were painful previously, and I had to walk down gingerly. But on this day, I felt confident enough getting down these steps normally.

I took a light jog around the ground and with every stride I could feel the soreness going away. Though I did not do anything silly as a quick dash or sprint, I felt confident enough to play in the Test and so informed the management who accepted it and included me in the playing eleven. It was unbelievable.”

Incidentally, Sunil went on to score his eleventh Test century in that match!

ராம நாம மகிமை !!!

உலகிலேயே உயர்ந்த நாமம் ராமநாமம். “ஸ்ரீராமஜெயம்’ என ஒருமுறை சொன்னால் செய்த பாவங்கள் தீர்ந்துவிடும். ராமபிரான் இலங்கைக்கு செல்வதற்காக வானரங்கள் பாலம் அமைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தன. எல்லா வானரங்களும் கற்களை தூக்கி கடலுக்குள் போட்டன. ஒவ்வொரு கல்லும் மற்றொரு கல்லின்மீது சரியாக அமர்ந்தது. ஆஞ்சநேயர் அந்தபணியை மேற் பார்வையிட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தார். ராமபிரானும் இதை கவனித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அவர் மனதிலும் ஆசை ஏற்பட்டது. நாமும் இந்தவானரங்களுடன் இணைந்து கல்லை தூக்கிப்போட்டால் என்ன என கருதியபடியே, ஒரு கல்லை எடுத்து கடலுக்குள் போட்டார். அந்தக்கல் சரியாக மற்ற கற்களின்மீது அமரவில்லை. அலை அடித்து சென்றுவிட்டது. ராமபிரானுக்கு வருத்தம்.

“இந்த குரங்குகள் போடும் கற்கள்கூட சரியாக மற்றொரு கல்லின்மீது அமர்ந்துவிட்டதே. நமது கல்லை அலைஅடித்து சென்றுவிட்டதே. இதற்கு என்ன காரணமாக இருக்கும்” என வருத்தப்பட்டார். ஆஞ்சநேயர் ராமனின் அருகில் வந்தார். அவர் அனைத்தையும் கவனித்துக்கொண்டுதான் இருந்தார்.

“ஆஞ்சநேயா! நான் செய்ததை நீ பார்த்துவிட்டாயா? எனக்கு ஒரு கல்லை போடக்கூட தெரியவில்லை. என்னை நினைத்து எனக்கே வெட்கமாக இருக்கிறது” என்றார்.
அதற்கு ஆஞ்சநேயர், “ஸ்ரீராமா! மற்ற குரங்குகள் எல்லாம் “ஸ்ரீராமஜெயம்’ என்ற உன் நாமத்தை சொல்லிக்கொண்டே கற்களை தூக்கிப்போட்டன. அவை சரியாக அமர்ந்தது. நீ ராமனாகவே இருந்தாலும் ராமஜெயம் சொல்லிக்கொண்டே போட்டிருந்தால் அது சரியாக அமர்ந்திருக்கும்” என்றாராம்.

ராம நாமத்தின் மகிமை அத்தகையது.

Russia Now…..In Ancient Times It Was Rishivarsham !!!!!

Many years ago, some Russian scholars had come to Chennai for a research on Hindu culture. Maha Swami was then camping at Mylapore and so they had darshan of Him and took many photographs of Him. They gave the photographs to the Russian Ancient Culture Academy in Russia also.

In 1987, Russia held a festival of Indian Culture in the Soviet Cultural Academy in Chennai. Dr.Padma Subramanyam (PS) gave a lecture on Bharatham, Kutchipidi, etc. Then, she was invited to Russia, where she met Prof.Ribakov, who was the chief of Russian Scientific Academy and Russian Ancient Culture Institute.

She was surprised to see a portrait of Maha Periava in his room. When asked, he said it was given by a friend who had visited Him in Chennai and he also wanted to meet Him and clarify a few doubts. Subsequently, he came to Chennai and Dr.PS accompanied him to Kanchipuram. But, Maha Swami was down with fever and the sishyas said they cannot meet Him. They were disappointed and didn’t know what to do.

Just then another sishya came to them and said that Periava asked them to come in. They went in, and Prof.Ribakov and Periava kept looking at each other for a while. Then, Dr.PS asked the Prof to clarify his doubts. But the Prof said that all his doubts have already been clarified.

Now comes the best part. Periava asked ‘Russians speak their language mixed with Sanskrit, but in Northern Russia do they speak the language without any mix of Sanskrit?’ Ribakov was surprised and said ‘yes’.

Then Periava said, ‘ you say Russia now. In the ancient times it was known as Rishivarsham. You know why? That is where Rishis like Yagnavalkiyar were running a Vedic Research Center. Then he spoke about the history of Russia at length. Then the Prof said that he wanted to become a Hindu.

Periava said ‘you already are’. But the Prof insisted on a Hindu name for him. Periava laughed and said ‘ he has grey beard like Rishis. So, from now on his name is Rishi’.

Well, that Rishi, runs a branch of Ramakrishna mutt in Moscow now!!!!!

Message For The Day….Sound Of Manthra is as Valuable as its Meaning !!!

Every little moment or incident results in sound; be it the falling of an eyelid over the eye or the dropping of dew on a petal. The range of one’s ear is limited to what one can hear. Even a poisonous cobra can be quietened by music. Sound (Naadham) has that property. The child in the cradle stops wailing as soon as the lullaby is sung. It may not carry any meaning that the child interprets, but the sound does soothe the nerves and induce sleep. So too, the sound of a Manthra is as valuable as its meaning. The meaning of the Gayathri Manthra, is very direct and profound. It does not ask for mercy or pardon. It asks for a clear intellect, so that the Truth may be reflected therein correctly, without any disfigurement. This can be chanted by people of all times and will help aspirants to intensify their Sadhana and achieve success.

Travel Tamil Nadu Temples

By some estimates Tamil Nadu has about 33,000 ancient temples, many of them over 600 to 800 years old. A majority of the great temples are dedicated to Lord Shiva and his fierce aspect of Bhairava, closely followed by temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu. There are also a number of temples dedicated to Lord Murugan and Lord Hanuman, besides a number of Amman temples. Chidambaram Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Chidambaram is one of the five Pancha Bootha Sthalas, each representing one of the five natural elements. Chidambaram represents akasha (ether). The other four temples in this category are Thiruvanaikaval Jambukeswara (water) in Trichy, Kanchi Ekambareswara (earth) in Kanchipuram, Thiruvannamalai Arunachaleswara (fire) in Thiruvannamalai and Kalahasti Nathar (wind) in Kalahasti. The tandava represented in Chidambaram is Ananda tandava, the cosmic dance of Lord Nataraja (Shiva). Another important aspect in Chidambaram is of the Five Sabhas. Chidambaram represents Por Sabai or Ponnambalam. The other Sabhas are at Thiruvalangadu (Rathina Sabai – ruby), Madurai (Velliambalam – silver), Tirunelveli (Thamira Sabai – copper), Kutralam (Chitra Sabai – painting). All the main Saivite Nayanars — namely Thirugnana Sambandhar, Appar, Sundarar and Manicka Vasakar — visited this holy shrine and it is said that they entered this temple from all the four cardinal directions, i.e. through the South, West, North and East Gopurams, denoting the four different margas or pathways. The gold-plated gopuram is the one of the main attractions of this temple. Chidambaram is supposed to be the oldest of Saivite temples and all Thirumurai concerts conclude with the words “Thiruchitrambalam”.

Message For The Day….Faith Will Do Wonders!!!

A few elders in Brindavan who revelled in scandalizing Krishna set an ordeal for Radha to test her virtue. Radha was asked to fetch water in a pot from Yamuna to home. Radha, with full faith in Krishna, was immersed in the consciousness of the Lord, that she never bothered to know the condition of the pot. The mud pot she was given had a hundred holes. She immersed it in the river, repeating the name of Krishna as usual, with every intake of the breath and every exhalation. Every time the name Krishna was uttered, a hole was covered, so that by the time the pot was full, it was whole! That was the measure of her faith. Faith can affect even inanimate objects.
