ரூபிக்ஸ் கியூப் பற்றிக் கேள்விபட்டிருக் கிறீர்களா? மூளைக்கு வேலை தரக்கூடிய சவாலான ஒரு விளையாட்டு. இது எப்படி வந்தது தெரியுமா?

 

ஹங்கேரியைச் சேர்ந்த கட்டடக் கலைப் பேராசிரியர் எர்னோ ரூபிக் 1974-ல் ஒரு புதுமையான, புதிரான கன சதுரத்தை உருவாக்கினார். இதை உடைக்கவோ பிரிக்கவோ முடியாது. ஆனால், தனித்தனியாகச் சுற்றும் வகையில் அது அமைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. இதில் வண்ணமயமான ஸ்டிக்கர்களை ஒட்டி இதை ஒரு விளையாட்டுப் பொருளாக்கினார். முதலில் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட ரூபிக் கன சதுரம் (Rubik’s Cube) இதுதான்.

ஒரே மாதிரியான நிறங்களை ஒரே பக்கத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து தனது புதிரை விடுவிக்க அவருக்கு ஒரு மாதம் ஆனது. இதன்பின்னர் உலகத்திலேயே மிக அதிகமாக விற்பனையாகும் விளையாட்டுப் பொருளாக ரூபிக் கன சதுரத்தை உருவாக்க ஆசைப்பட்டார். ஒரு சில மாற்றங்களை இதில் ஏற்படுத்திய பின்னர் மிகவும் பிரபலமான விளையாட்டுப் பொருளானது ரூபிக் கன சதுரம்.

முதலில் தன் மாணவர்களிடமும் நண்பர்களிடமும் இதை அறிமுகப்படுத்தினார். முதன் முதலில் பொலைட்செனிகா என்னும் நிறுவனம் ரூபிக் கன சதுரத்தைத் தயாரித்து விநியோகித்தது.

தொடக்க காலத்தில் தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட ரூபிக் கன சதுரம் ‘மாஜிக் க்யூப்’ என அழைக்கப்பட்டது. எடையும் இரு மடங்கு அதிகமாக இருந்தது. ஹங்கேரியில் பிரபலமாகியிருந்த இந்த ரூபிக் கன சதுரத்தைக் கணித அறிஞர்கள் உலகெங்கும் நடைபெற்ற கருத்தரங்குகளுக்குக் கொண்டுசென்றனர்.

1979-ல் நுரெம்பெர்க் விளையாட்டுப் பொருள் கண்காட்சியில் இது இடம்பெற்றது. அப்போது அங்கே வந்திருந்த டாம் க்ரெமெர் என்னும் விளையாட்டுப் பொருள் நிபுணர், உலகம் முழுவதிலும் இதை விற்கச் சம்மதித்தார். இதைத் தொடர்ந்து ஐடியல் டாய் நிறுவனம், மேஜிக் க்யூப் என்னும் பெயரை ரூபிக் நினைவாக ‘ரூபிக் க்யூப்’ என மாற்றி விநியோகித்தது.

1980-ல் இது உலகச் சந்தையில் அறிமுகமானது. அந்த ஆண்டு ஜெர்மனியின் சிறந்த விளையாட்டுக்கான விருதைப் பெற்றது. உலகத்தில் இதுவரை விற்பனையான ரூபிக் கன சதுரத்தின் எண்ணிக்கை 35 கோடி என்கிறார்கள். இன்று உலகத்தில் மிக அதிகமான விற்பனையாகும் விளையாட்டுப் பொருளும் இதுதான். 40 ஆண்டுகளைத் தாண்டியும் வெற்றிநடைபோடுகிறது இந்தக் கன சதுரப் புதிர்.

The splendour of the sun is revealed when a wind drives away the clouds that hide the sun. Likewise, when the wind of love blows away the clouds of desire in the heart, the ego (‘I’ ness) and possessiveness (sense of ‘mine’) are driven out and the effulgence of the Atma within is revealed in all its glory.

புகைப்படக்கலைக்காகவும்,புகைப்படக்கலைஞர்களுக்காகவும் தன்னை அர்ப்பணித்துக் கொண்டுள்ள பெஸ்ட் போட்டோகிராபி தமிழ் இதழின் ஆசிரியர் பழனிக்குமார் இந்த கண்காட்சிக்கான ஏற்பாடுகளை செய்திருந்தார்.
மாநில அளவில் சிறந்து விளங்கும் வைல்டு லைப் போட்டோகிராபர்களின் படங்கள் நுாற்றுக் கணக்கில் இடம் பெற்றிருந்தது.இந்த கண்காட்சியில் இடம் பெற்றிருந்த புகைப்படங்கள் தரவரிசைப்படுத்தி அதற்கு மெகா பரிசுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டது.

அபரிமிதமான ஆர்வத்தோடு இவர் எடுத்த பறவைகள் மற்றும் விலங்குகளை பார்த்த பள்ளி நிர்வாகம் சித்தாராவிற்கு புகழ் மாலை சூடியுள்ளது.இதே போல பல்வேறு பார்வையாளர்களும் சித்தாரவின் புகைப்படங்களை பார்த்து பாராட்டி வருகின்றனர்.கோவை பக்கம் உள்ள பேரூர் பகுதிக்கு போயிருந்த போது எடுத்ததுதான் அந்த ஆந்தை குடும்ப படம்.

முதல் முறையாக கோவை புகைப்பட கண்காட்சியில் இவர் வைத்திருந்த படத்திற்கு முதல் பரிசு கிடைத்தது.இதை அடுத்து சர்வதே அளவில் லண்டனில் நடக்கும் வைல்டுலைப் போட்டோகிராபி போட்டிக்கு சித்தாரவின் படங்கள் அனுப்பிவைக்கப்பட்டது.
தற்போது பல்வேறு கட்டங்களைதாண்டி தேர்வுக்குழுவின் இறுதிக்கட்ட பார்வைக்கு படம் போயுள்ளது,நிச்சயம் பரிசு கிடைக்கும் என்ற நம்பிக்கை உருவாகியுள்ளது.

சிதார இப்போது நேரம் கிடைக்கும் போதெல்லாம் கேமிராவை துாக்கிக்கொண்டு காட்டிற்கு கிளம்பிவிடுகிறார்.பெரும்பாலும் துணைக்கு அண்ணன் அகஸ்தியா வருவது உண்டு.காட்டை நேசிக்க ஆரம்பித்ததால் சிதாரா பிளாஸ்டிக்கை எந்த ரூபத்திலும் உபயோகிப்பது இல்லை என்று சபதமே எடுத்துள்ளார் ,மேலும் படித்து வனத்துறை அதிகாரியாகத்தான் வருவேன் என்றும் இப்போதே முடிவெடுத்துள்ளார்,விவசாயத்தையும்,இயற்கையையும் பெரிதும் நேசிக்கிறார். இதெல்லாம் வைல்டு லைப் போட்டோகிராபி தந்த நல்ல குணங்கள் என்றும் சொல்லி புன்னகைக்கிறார்.

திரைப் பிரபலங்களின் சமூக வலைதள செயல்பாடுகள் அவ்வபோது பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தி வருவது இப்போது வழக்கமாகிவிட்டது. சர்ச்சைக்காக மட்டுமின்றி, சில நல்ல விஷயங்களும் பிரபலமாகி வருகின்றன.

திரைப்பட இயக்குனர் வெங்கட்பிரபு, சமூக வலைதளங்களான ட்விட்டர் மற்றும் ஃபேஸ்புக்கில் தொடர்ந்து தமது கருத்துகளைப் பகிர்ந்து வரும் சினிமா பிரபலங்களில் ஒருவர்.

இந்த நிலையில், அவர் இன்று பதிவேற்றிய ட்வீட் மற்றும் ஸ்டேட்டஸ் ஒன்று, தமிழ் இணையவாசிகள் பலரால் பாரட்டப்பட்டும் பகிரப்பட்டும் வருகிறது. அதன் விவரம்:

“ஒரு வருடத்திற்கு முன்னால், டெல்லியில் ஓடும் பேருந்தில், தன் கண் முன்னால் தன்னுடைய தோழி 6 கயவர்களால் பாலியல் வன்முறைக்கு ஆளாவதைக் கண்டார். இரும்புக் கம்பியால் அடி வாங்கியும் தன்னால் இயன்ற அளவு போராடினார். அந்த இளைஞரின் காலை குற்றவாளிகள் உடைத்தனர். அவரது உடைமைகளைத் திருடினர், ஆடைகளை கிழித்து நிர்வாணமாக்கினர், அவரது தோழியை இரும்பு கம்பியைக் கொண்டு மேலும் சிதைத்தனர். அந்தப் பனி மிகுதியான இரவில் ஓடும் பேருந்திலிருந்து, தனது தோழியுடன் அவரும் வெளியே தூக்கி எறியப்பட்டார்.

உடலில் ஆடைகளின்றி, போராடத் தெம்பின்றி, ரத்தம் கசிய இருவரும் ரோட்டோரத்தில் கிடந்தனர். அப்போதும் அந்த இளைஞர் அவ்வழியே சென்ற கார்களை தடுத்து நிறுத்தி உதவி கோர முயன்றார். தனது தோழியின் உடலை மூட ஒரு சால்வை வேண்டி வழியில் வந்தவர்களிடம் கெஞ்சினார். அவர் கோரியது 40 நிமிட போரட்டத்திற்கு பின்னர்தான் கிடைத்தது.

தொடர்ந்து தன் தோழியை மருத்துவமனைக்கு எடுத்துச் சென்று சேர்த்து, போலீஸுக்கு தகவல் தந்து, தோழியின் பெற்றோர்களை அழைத்து, அந்த நேரத்திற்கு தேவையான எல்லா உதவியையும் ஓர் உண்மையான நண்பராகச் செய்தார். அந்த இளைஞரால் எளிதாக அந்தப் பேருந்திலிருந்து தப்பித்திருக்க முடியும். ஆனால், அவர் அப்படிச் செய்யவில்லை. தோழியை அப்படியே ரோட்டில் தவிக்க விட்டுச் சென்றிருக்க முடியும். செல்லவில்லை. (நிர்பயாவின் தந்தை வெட்கமின்றி உத்தரப் பிரதேச முதல்வரிடமிருந்து 25 லட்ச ரூபாய் நிதியும், தனது மகனுக்கு வேலையும், இன்னும் தன் மகளின் பெயரில் வந்த எத்தனையோ சலுகைகளையும் பெற்றுக் கொண்டார்.)

இந்தச் சம்பவத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து ஊடகங்கள் இதற்குத் தந்த வெளிச்சத்தில் புகழும் பணமும் சம்பாதித்திருக்க முடியும். அதையும் அந்த இளைஞர் செய்யவில்லை. தனது சிகிச்சைக்கு அரசாங்கத்திடமிருந்து நிதி பெறவில்லை. செய்தி ஊடகங்களில் அடிக்கடி பணத்திற்காக தோன்றி பேசியிருக்கலாம். அதையும் தவிர்த்தார். இது நட்பு இல்லையென்றால் வேறு எதை நட்பு என்று சொல்லுவது?

ஒரு தேசமே ஒரு பெண்ணுக்காக வெகுண்டபோது, அந்தப் பெண்ணின் நண்பர் அந்த இரவில் செய்த எதைப் பற்றியும் யாரும் நினைத்துக்கூட பார்க்கவில்லை. அந்த இளைஞர் திரை நட்சத்திரமோ, கிரிக்கெட் வீரரோ அல்ல, அவரது பெயர் அவிந்த்ர பிரதாப் பாண்டே. உத்திரப் பிரதேசம் கோர்க்‌ஷாபூரைச் சேர்ந்த இவர் தன் தோழியை உண்மையாக நேசித்தார். இப்படி ஒரு நண்பர் இருக்கும்போது ஏன் அமெரிக்கர்களை காப்பியடித்து ஆகஸ்ட் 3-ஆம் தேதி நண்பர்கள் தினத்தை நாம் கொண்டாட வேண்டும்?

அவிந்த்ராவை பெருமைப்படுத்தும் வகையில், உண்மையான நட்பு எது என்று காட்டிய அவரது மன உறுதியை கௌரவப்படுத்தும் வகையில் இந்தியாவில், நண்பர்கள் தினத்தை டிசம்பர் 16-ஆம் தேதி கொண்டாட வேண்டும். இதை அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக அறிவிக்க வேண்டும். நான் சொல்வது சரியா? ஆம் என்றால் இதைப் பகிருங்கள், உங்களது கருத்துக்களையும் இங்கே தெரிவியுங்கள்” என்று வெங்கட்பிரபு எழுதியுள்ளார்.

” Emergency Landing of a Plane After a Part of its Wing Fell Off …” !!!

If you have a fear of flying and want to be able to fly again in the future, you might want to stop reading here. For everyone’s worst nightmare became a reality for passengers on board a flight from London, UK to Florence, Italy last week. Their aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing after a part of the left wing fell off.

Shortly after taking off from London City airport a loud bang was heard by those aboard, the 60 passengers were shocked to discover that a 6ft (1.8m) piece of the wing was dangling in the air.

Daily Telegraph journalist Cole Moreton was one of the 60 passengers on board and explained what went through everyone’s minds during that moment of fear.

The bang made people jump and was alarming. Then we sat there thinking ‘this isn’t right, surely? Does the pilot know?’ But we didn’t appear to be crashing. So there was a tense few minutes while we circled and waited for an announcement. It was a relief to get back on the ground.

The Avro RJ85 aircraft was diverted back to London City airport and landed with the badly burned section of the wing only just attached. Passengers were put on another flight two hours after landing back in London. A CityJet spokesperson later said the piece was merely a cover for the plane’s inner-mechanics.

The cover of the operating mechanism on the wing became partially detached. The crew followed their standard procedures.

This is Antarctic land ice, not sea ice, which in recent years has expanded. The land ice loss is now thought to drive 0.43 millimeters of global sea level rise per year.

Antarctica is losing land ice much faster than previously measured. Overall, Antarctica is losing 159 billion (“yes, billion, with a b”) tons of ice every year. That’s enough land ice from Antarctica to push global sea levels up by 0.43 millimeters (0.017 inch) per year. We are talking about land ice here, not sea ice, which has been spreading out around Antarctica in recent winters. Previous measurements (made from 2005 to 2010) were lower, closer to 100 billion tons per year. The new information comes from CryoSat, a European Space Agency Earth-observing satellite. Cryosat has been using a radar instrument specifically designed to measure the shape of the ice sheet. The new information is published online in the journal Geophysical Research Letters. It comes out only about a week after scientists at the University of California and NASA announced that the loss of six major Antarctic glacier to the sea appears inevitable and in the same week that the Union of Concerned Scientists released a report showing 30 U.S. landmarks at risk from climate change.

MICROSOFT has just unveiled its latest Windows-powered tablet: the Surface Pro 3.

The newest Surface is equipped with a 12-inch, 2,160 by 1,440 resolution display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, Windows 8.1 Pro, and a 4th-generation Intel Core processor—all within a 9.1mm-thick casing, making what the company claims is the “thinnest Intel Core product ever made.” And at just 800 grams, the Surface Pro 3 is both lighter and thinner than the 10.6-inch Surface Pro 2 and the 11.8-inch Apple MacBook Air.

Like the Surface tablets before it, the Surface Pro 3 includes a kickstand, which has been improved, and works with a digital Surface Pen. Microsoft also introduced new, thinner Type Covers with a bigger trackpad, as well as a new docking station that can be used to output video to a 4K monitor.

The company also highlighted some software that has been developed for the new tablet. Photoshop has been optimised for touch on the Surface Pro 3, the New York Times’ crossword puzzle works with the pen, and scripts written in Final Draft can be edited on the fly using the pen as well. For quick memos, clicking the button on the pen will wake the tablet and present you with the OneNote app. Once done jotting down your thoughts, simply click the button again and the notes are sent to the cloud via Microsoft’s OneDrive.

The Surface Pro 3 will hit shelves on August 31, but can be pre-ordered starting today through the Microsoft web store as well as third-party retailers. Pricing starts at $AU979, with multiple configurations available depending on if you want an Intel Core i3, Core i5, or Core i7 processor. 4GB or 8GB of RAM will be offered, and storage will come in four options, ranging from 64GB to 512GB.

All human activities must be undertaken with the sole aim of pleasing God. To attain such exalted heights, you must acquire true spiritual knowledge. Spiritual wisdom aids in subduing the senses. Ravana learnt 64 disciplines of education and was an expert in many fields. However he has been labeled foolish and ignorant. Why? He was a slave to the senses. Rama, though learnt only 32 disciplines, subdued His senses and hence is exalted even today. Learning from this, all educated people must realize that a truly knowledgeable person is one who gained control over their senses. People who accomplished this significant inner victory are excellent examples portraying clearly the element of devotion.
