Message for the Day…” One Must Understand and Realise the Real Purpose of Human Life …”

Students of today are blind to the goal of life. Some students do not even feel the pain of not knowing the purpose of life. Only one in a million or a crore strives to realise the essence of life. This striving is the stepping stone for the realisation of the purpose of life. Many people feel that the acquisition of food, clothing, shelter, wealth, conveniences, and comforts constitute the very purpose of life. Life remains a tragedy as long as one labours under this kind of delusion. The day one realises the purpose of life, one undergoes a total transformation, from vedana (agony) to nirvedana (freedom from pain). When one becomes conscious of light, acquires wisdom and realises the meaning of existence, one is transported from agony to ecstasy. Every bit of learning should be based on the foundation of ethical, righteous and spiritual principles. Education that is not founded on these will flounder to the ground and become useless.

உத்தமர்களின் வாய்ச்சொல், சத்திய மார்க்கத்தையே உரைக்கும்; அதன் வழி நடந்தால் நல்லதையே அடைவோம்.
அரசர் ஒருவர், தேவேந்திரனை நோக்கி, பல காலம் தவம் இருந்தார். அவருடைய தவத்திற்கு இரங்கிய தேவேந்திரன், கற்பக மரத்தையே அரசருக்குக் கொடுத்து விட்டார்.
கேட்டதை மட்டுமல்ல, நினைத்ததை எல்லாம் கொடுக்கக் கூடிய கற்பக மரம் கிடைத்ததும், தலை கால் புரியாமல் மனம் போனபடி வாழ்ந்தார் அரசர்.
அரசரைப் பற்றி அறிந்த தத்தாத்திரேயர், ‘தவசீலரான இந்த அரசன் கற்பக விருட்சத்தை பெற்றதும், கடைந்தேறும் வழியைப் பற்றி எண்ணாது, உலக இச்சைகளில் உழன்று கொண்டிருக்கிறானே… இவனுக்கு நல்லறிவு புகட்ட வேண்டும்…’ என நினைத்தார்.
ஒரு நாள், அரண்மனைக்குள் நுழைந்த தத்தாத்திரேயர், ‘விடு விடு’ வென்று நடந்து போய், அரசருக்கு மட்டுமே உரித்தான உயர் ரக இருக்கையில் அமர்ந்தார்.
சேவகர்களால் அவரைத் தடுக்க முடியவில்லை.
தகவல் அறிந்த அரசர் வேகமாக வந்து பார்த்தார். ‘யார் நீ… என்ன தைரியம் இருந்தால், என் இருக்கையில் அமர்வாய்… போ வெளியே…’ என்றார்.
‘மன்னா… கோபப்படாதே… இந்தச் சத்திரத்தில், நீ தங்கி இருப்பதைப் போலத் தான், நானும் தங்கியிருக்கிறேன். இதற்குப் போய் கோபப்படுகிறாயே…’ என்றார்.
‘இது ஒண்ணும் சத்திரமல்ல; என் அரண்மனை. போ வெளியே…’ என்று கோபத்துடன் கூறினார்.
‘ஆயிரக்கணக்கான ஆண்டுகளாக, இங்கு வசித்து வருகிறாயோ…’ என்றார் தத்தாத்திரேயர்.
‘இல்லை… நான் பிறந்தது முதல், இங்கு தான் வாழ்ந்து வருகிறேன்…’ என்று மன்னர் சொல்ல, ‘உனக்கு முன் இங்கு இருந்தது யார்?’ எனக் கேட்டார் தத்தாத்திரேயர்.
மன்னர் பொறுமை இழந்து, ‘எனக்கு முன் என் தந்தை; அவருக்கு முன், என் தாத்தா; அதற்கு முன் என் கொள்ளுத் தாத்தா… இப்படிப் பல பேர் இங்கு தான் இருந்திருக்கின்றனர்…’ என்றார்.

ஆக, இங்கு யாருமே நிரந்தரமாகத் தங்கவில்லை. ஒருவர் வர, ஒருவர் போக என்று தான் இருந்துள்ளனர். அப்படி என்றால், இது சத்திரம் தானே? இதைப் போய் அரண்மனை என்கிறாயே… அதுவும் உன் அரண்மனை என்கிறாய். இது எப்படி?” என, அமைதியாக கேட்டார் தத்தாத்ரேயர்.
மன்னருக்கு, ‘சுருக்’கென்றது. தத்தாத்திரேயரின் திருவடிகளில் விழுந்து வணங்கி, உபதேசம் பெற்று உயர்ந்தார் அரசர்.
நல்லதையே கேட்போம்; நமக்கது உதவும்!

The human body is a cover, a receptacle for the Atma. Elements like water and wind are intimately bound up with the body. Therefore, theAtma Principle, which is the core, is not cognised. People have lost awareness of this Principle, which is Truth. The Atma is in the body, but not of it. The Atma Principle, though active in the body, does not belong to the body. The ability of the eyes to see and the ears to hear are given by the Atma. The eyes and ears are sustained by the Omni-Consciousness, the Divine Principle. Your Soul (Divine Self) is the real ‘You’, the Will (Sankalpa). The elements (ether, wind, fire, water, and earth) that constitute the cosmos operate only as prompted by the supreme wisdom, which energizes them. The entire world of living beings – both fixed and moving are sustained by supreme wisdom. That supreme wisdom is Atma, the Brahman and the visible, objective world.

You pray to God for trivial worldly things. Distinguish clearly between earthly happiness and divine bliss. Ask for selfless love, which you do not have, but He has in plenty. Pray for love, peace and bliss. God is the embodiment of bliss; His love is supreme without a parallel. He knows what is good for you and will give it. He is a witness to all your thoughts, words and actions. Therefore surrender wholeheartedly unto Him, and lead an ideal life. You are all embodiments of the Divine. So love all and never hurt anyone. If you harm anyone, you are harming the Divine. Love is as vital for a human as fire is vital for a lump of coal to sparkle. Get rid of all your weaknesses by concentrating on Divine Love, as grace is ever flowing and confers the greatest strength. God is the Cosmic Director and all humans are mere actors. So perform your role to please Him!

Vikshepa is an affliction of the mind that consists of worldly distractions; various spiritual exercises (sadhanas) are undertaken to overcome it and realise the Divine. The sadhanas include meditation, concentration and performance of good deeds for achieving purity of mind. When one succeeds in overcoming Vikshepa, one is confronted with avarana (akin to a thick covering in which one is enveloped). This covering is known as maya (delusion). It envelops everything in the universe. The eyes with which one can see everything that is outside cannot see themselves. Likewise, Maya, which reveals the entire universe, cannot reveal the Divine. Because we are enveloped in Maya, we seek worldly pleasures and do not seek our own Divine essence. ‘Yaddhrushyam than-nashyathi – Whatever is perceptible, is perishable.’ In the pursuit of fleeting and impermanent pleasures, we are throwing away the permanent, the unchanging and the real elements in human life.

He started making these paper birds a few years ago, with the designs becoming more and more lifelike, staying true to what he found so beautiful while also maintaining relism in his sculptures.

Youth today are becoming exceedingly greedy and totally selfish, harboring feelings of hatred and jealousy. Their lifestyle of enjoying worldly and carnal pleasures (bhoga) will result in diseases (roga).In ancient times, youth and saints alike, lead a life of sacrifice and sense control (tyaga and yoga) and enjoyed peace and joy. When going on a tour, people like to carry sufficient money for expenses and when they finish the journey or reach the goal, they deposit or hand over the remainder to a trustworthy friend and sleep soundly. All of you are blessed with the wealth of love from the moment of your birth. In this field of worldly activity (Karmakshetra), it is very difficult to safeguard the treasure of love (Prema). Therefore you need to find a faithful friend to hand it over – and the only true friend is God. So hand over the wealth of your love to God, and lead a secured life filled with peace and joy.

“ஆணவம் அழிவுக்கு வழி வகுக்கும் …”

பாரதப்போர் முடிவில் கிருஷ்ணர் தேரில் அமர்ந்தபடி,””அர்ஜூனா! போர் தான் முடிந்து விட்டதே! இனியும் ஏன் நின்று கொண்டிருக்கிறாய். தேரை விட்டு இறங்கு!” என்றார்.

“”மைத்துனா! நீ என்னை போரில் வெற்றி பெறச் செய்தாய். மகிழ்ச்சி! ஆனால், வெற்றி பெற்றவனை, தேரோட்டி தான் கையைப் பிடித்து இறக்கி விட வேண்டும் என்ற சம்பிரதாயம் உண்டே! அதை மறந்து விட்டாயே! அப்படி செய்வது எனக்கும் பெருமை அல்லவா! நீயோ என்னைக் கீழே இறங்கு என்று ஆணையிடுகிறாய். இது என்ன நியாயம்? ”

அர்ஜுனனின் வார்த்தைகளை கிருஷ்ணர், காதில் வாங்கிக் கொண்டதாகவே தெரியவில்லை. “”தேரை விட்டு இறங்கு!” என்றார் கண்டிப்புடன்.

வருத்தத்துடன் அர்ஜுனன் கீழிறங்கினான்.

அப்போது அவர்,”” தேரின் பக்கத்தில் நிற்காதே! சற்று தள்ளி நில்!” என்றார் அதட்டலுடன்!

அர்ஜூனனால் கிருஷ்ணரின் அதட்டலைப் பொறுத்துக் கொள்ளவே முடியவில்லை. வெற்றி பெற்ற மகிழ்ச்சி கூட மனதை விட்டு அகன்றுவிட்டது. ஒன்றும் புரியாதவனாய் தள்ளி நின்றான்.

வாடிய முகத்துடன் நின்ற அவனைக் கண்டு புன்னகைத்த கிருஷ்ணர், தேரிலிருந்து குதித்து ஓடிச்சென்று, அர்ஜுனனை இறுகக் கட்டியணைத்துக் கொண்டார். அந்த கணமே தேர் தீப்பற்றி எரிந்தது.

“”பார்த்தாயா? தேர் எரிகிறது! அதனால் தான் உன்னை இறங்கச் சொன்னேன்!,” என்றார் புன்முறுவலுடன்.

“தேர் ஏன் எரிந்தது?’ அர்ஜுனன் ஏதும் புரியாமல் கேட்டான்.

“”அர்ஜூனா! போர் புரியும்போது கவுரவர்கள் உன் மீது பல அஸ்திரங்களை ஏவினர். அவற்றின் சக்தி அளவிட முடியாதது. தேரில் நானும், தேர்க்கொடியில் அனுமனும் இவ்வளவுநேரம் அதை தடுத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தோம். அதனால், அவை வலிமையற்றுக் கிடந்தன.
தேரை விட்டு நான் குதித்ததும், தேர்க்கொடியில் இருந்துஅனுமனும் புறப்பட்டு விட்டான். அஸ்திரங்களின் சக்தி தலைதூக்கியது. தேர் பற்றி எரியத் தொடங்கிவிட்டது.
உண்மை இப்படி இருக்க, நீயோ போரில் வெற்றி பெற்ற உன்னைக் கவுரவிக்கவில்லை என்று வருத்தப்படுகிறாய்.

வெற்றி பெற்றதும் “நான்’ என்னும் ஆணவம் உனக்கு வந்து விட்டது. ஆணவம் அழிவுக்கு வழிவகுக்கும் என்பதை மறந்து விடாதே,” என்று அறிவுரை கூறினார்.

தேர் பற்றி எரிந்ததுபோல, அர்ஜுனனிடம் இருந்த ஆணவமும் பற்றி எரிந்து சாம்பலானது.

இறைவன் காரணமில்லாமல் நமக்கு கஷ்டம் எதையும் தருவதில்லை !

“அடுத்தவன் பொருளுக்கு ஆசைப்படாதவன் தர்மத்தைக் காப்பாத்தறான் …”

இந்த சம்பவம் சுமார் எழுபது வர்ஷங்களுக்கு முன் நடந்தது.

பெரியவாளிடம் அளவற்ற பக்தி கொண்ட ஒரு முதியவர், காலகதி அடையும் தறுவாயில் தன் மகனை அழைத்து சில விஷயங்களை சொல்லும் போது, தான் ஒருவரிடம் நூறு ரூபாய் கடன் வாங்கியதாகவும், அதை அவன் திருப்பித் தரவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லிவிட்டு இறந்தார். அப்போது மகனுக்கே 62 வயது. கிராமத்தில் கர்ணம் வேலை பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார். சம்பளமோ 15 ரூபாய்தான். அப்பாவின் கடைசி வாக்கை காப்பாற்ற கஷ்டப்பட்டு மூன்று வர்ஷங்களில் எப்படியோ 100 ரூபாய் சேர்த்தார். இதில் வேடிக்கை என்னவென்றால், அப்பாவுக்கு கடன் குடுத்தவர் யாரென்றே தெரியாது! சேமித்த பணத்தை யாரிடம் கொடுப்பது?

மஹாபெரியவா – திக்கற்றவருக்கு தெய்வமே துணை! ஓடினார் பெரியவாளிடம்! விவரத்தை சொன்னார்.

“மடத்ல ஒரு நாள் தங்கு” உத்தரவானது. மறுநாள் காலை பெரியவா அவரிடம் “இங்கேர்ந்து நேரா…………நீ ஆலத்தம்பாடி கிராமத்துக்கு போ! அங்க இருக்கும் அக்ரஹாரத்ல கடைசியா இருக்கும் வீட்ல இருக்கறவர்கிட்டதான் ஒங்கப்பா கடன் வாங்கினார்”.

ஆலத்தம்பாடி அக்ரஹாரத்தில் பெரியவா சொன்ன வீட்டுக்கு சென்றால்……ஆச்சர்யம்! அந்த வீட்டுப் பெரியவர் காலகதி அடைந்துவிட்டார். அவருடைய மகனிடம் விஷயத்தை சொன்னதும், அவருக்கு ஒரே வியப்பு! “எங்கப்பாவும் செத்துப் போகும்போது சில விஷயங்கள்லாம் சொன்னார்……..ஆனா, உங்கப்பாவுக்கு குடுத்த கடன் பத்தின விஷயத்தை சொல்லவேயில்லையே! அதுனால, இந்த பணத்தை நான் வாங்கிக்க மாட்டேன்” திட்டவட்டமாக சொல்லிவிட்டார். அவரையும் அழைத்துக் கொண்டு பெரியவாளிடம் வந்தார். ரெண்டுபக்கத்து ஞாயத்தை கேட்டதும், பெரியவா முகத்தில் புன்னகை.

“இங்கதான் தர்மம் இருக்கு. இன்னொர்த்தர் சாமானை வாங்கறப்போ…….நமக்கு ரொம்ப சந்தோஷமா இருக்கும். ஆனா, அதை திருப்பித் தரணும்னா……யோசிப்போம்! அதுனால, கடன் வாங்கின பாவத்துக்கு பரிகாரமே இல்லை. இங்க, ஒங்க ரெண்டு பேரோட விவகாரம் எப்டி? வாங்கினவர் திருப்பித் தரணும்..ன்னு நெனைக்கிறார்……..குடுத்தவரோட பிள்ளையோ, அப்பா தங்கிட்ட அதைப் பத்தி சொல்லாததால, வாங்கிக்க மாட்டேங்கறார்……ஆனா, தர்மம் ஒங்களுக்கு தெரியாது இல்லியா?

அடுத்தவா பொருளுக்கு ஆசைப்படாதவன் தர்மத்தை காப்பாத்தறான். ரெண்டு பேரும் காமாக்ஷி கோவிலுக்கு போய், இந்த பணத்தை அங்க உண்டியல்ல போட்டுடுங்கோ! அது அவளோட பணம்” ஆசீர்வாதம் பண்ணினார்.

There are three aspects in human beings called Mala, Vikshepa andAvarana. Of these, Mala represents the fruits of actions done in previous births and is the cause of ashanthi (mental disquiet). Until you eliminate this, it will give rise to trouble and sorrow. When you get rid of the burden of the evil effects of karma or past action, you can attain peace. To get rid ofMala, you must engage yourself in sacred tasks. The Lord judges you by the sincerity of your thoughts, not by the forms of your worship. The Lord sees your devotion (bhakthi) and not your power (shakti). He cares for your qualities (gunas) and not your caste, creed or lineage (kula). He looks at your heart (chittam) and not at your wealth (vittham). You must strive to purify your heart and engage yourself in righteous action, with devotion and integrity. No spiritual discipline (sadhana) will serve its purpose if you are involved in sinful deeds.
