பத்ராசலத்தில் ஸ்ரீராமர் கோயில் திருப்பணி

நடந்து முடிந்தது. கோயில் திருப்பணியில்

கை தேர்ந்த கணபதி ஸ்தபதி அந்த பொறுப்பை

ஏற்றிருந்தார்.

பத்ராசலத்துக்கு யாத்திரையாக வந்திருந்த

மகாபெரியவர்களிடம் “தாங்கள் அவசியம் வந்து

பார்வையிட வேண்டும்.தங்கள் கடாக்ஷம் வேண்டும்”

என அழைத்தார் ஸ்தபதி.பெரியவர்கள் கோதாவரியில்

ஸ்நானத்துக்குச் செல்லும் வழியில் அங்கே

நுழைந்தார்கள்.

கல்தூண் ஒன்றில் சிற்பம் செதுக்கும் வேலை

நடந்து வந்தது.

“இந்தத் தூணுக்கு அடிப்பாகம் எது,நுனிப்பாகம் எது”

என்று கேட்டார்கள் பெரியவர்கள். ஸ்தபதிக்கு ஒரே

திகைப்பு! ‘இதைப் பார்த்தாலே தெரிகிறதே! இப்படி

ஏதோ குழந்தைத்தனமாகக் கேள்வி கேட்கிறார்களே!’

என்று எண்ணியபடி அந்தப் பாகங்களைச் சுட்டிக்

காண்பித்தார்.

“இந்த அடிப்பாகத்தை நுனியாகவும்,நுனியை

அடிப்பாகமாகவும் மாற்றலாமா?”என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

ஸ்தபதிக்கு ஒரே குழப்பமாக இருந்தது.

“செதுக்குவதற்கு முன்னால் ஒவ்வொரு தூணுக்கும்

இதுதான் அடிப்பாகம்,இதுதான் நுனி என்று எப்படித்

தீர்மானம் செய்வாய்” என்று கேட்டார்கள் சுவாமிகள்.

ஸ்தபதி பதில் சொல்லத் தெரியாமல் நின்றார்.

“சுத்தி எடுத்துவா, இதைக் கீழேயிருந்து மேல் வரை

கத்தியால் தட்டு.ஏதாவது தெரிகிறதா பார்”என்றார்கள்.

தட்டியபிறகு ஸ்தபதிக்கு ஏதோ ஒரு சந்தேகம்.

ஆனால் சொல்லத் தெரியவில்லை.

“மீண்டும் ஒருமுறை தட்டு.அதிலிருந்து வரும்

சத்தத்தைக் கவனி” என்றார்கள்.

“கீழே சத்தம் ‘கணீர்’ என்று வருகிறது. மேலே செல்லச்

செல்ல சத்தம் குறைகிறது” என்றார்,ஸ்தபதி.

“மரத்திலே வைரம் பாய்ந்த கட்டை என்பார்கள்.

அது சிகப்பாகக் கெட்டியாக இருக்கும். சுலபமாகப்

பிளக்க முடியாது.அதிலிருந்துதான் மரப்பாச்சி-

மரப்பொம்மை செய்வார்கள்.நீ அதைப்பற்றி

கேட்டிருப்பாய். அதுபோலதான் கல்லிலும்

வைரம் பாய்ந்த பாகம் கெட்டியாய் இருக்கும்.

அதிலிருந்து வெண்கலம் போல ‘கணீர்’ என்று

சத்தம் வரும். அதுவும் கெட்டியாக (அடர்த்தி

நிறைந்ததாக) இருக்கும். அந்தப் பகுதியைத்தான்

அடிப்பாகமாகக் கொள்வார்கள்.

“சத்தம் அதிகம் வரும் பாகம் அடி; குறைவாக

உள்ளது நுனி. நீ சரியாகத்தான் வைத்திருக்கிறாய்.

உனக்கு எல்லாம் தெரிந்திருக்கிறது. சொல்லத்தான்

தெரியவில்லை” என்றார்கள் பெரியவர்கள்.

ஸ்தபதி உடனே சாஷ்டாங்கமாகப் பெரியவர்களின்

காலில் விழுந்து நமஸ்கரித்து, “தங்கள் அருளால்தான்

எல்லாம் நன்றாக அமைய வேண்டும்” என்று

பிரர்த்தித்தார். அப்படியே அமைய ஆசீர்வதித்தார்கள்

பெரியவர்கள்.

எல்லாக் கலைஞர்களுமே இப்படித்தான் முதலில்

சாமான்யமாக மதித்து,கடைசியில்,’இவர்களிடம்

நாம் கற்கவேண்டியது நிறைய இருக்கு’ என்ற

முடிவுக்கு வருவார்கள்.

Difficulties, troubles and worries come in the natural course as a consequence of past actions. Human birth is the result of Karma(past actions); there can be no escape from its consequences. As is your action, so is the reaction. When you stand before a mirror and offer salutation, your salutation gets reflected to you. If you address harsh words to the mirror, the harshness again comes back in the same manner. It is evident that the fruits of our actions are determined by the nature of our actions. Man is an image of God. ‘God appears in human form (Daivam maanusha rupena)’declares the scriptures. God does not come down as Avatar to relieve specific individuals of their troubles and sorrow, and to confer joy and happiness on them. God takes a human form from time to time to show humanity how human lives can be divinised.

Message For the Day….” Human Beings are Gifted with this Birth…”

Because Nature is a reflection of the Divine, its laws cannot be transgressed by anyone. Human beings are gifted this birth to realise their own true nature. Instead of seeking to understand the truth about the cosmos, people lose it in the pursuit of material possessions. They do not realise that the human body made up of five basic elements, is bound to perish. This temporary and perishable body should be regarded only as a means for realising the eternal Reality. The body should be considered as an iron safe, in which the precious jewels of good qualities and good actions are kept. It is these qualities that should be cherished. If today, the state of the world appears deplorable, it is because people’s actions and conduct are not good. People should return to the ways of righteousness and lead a good and godly life.

Every object in Nature and every individual around you is constantly teaching you lessons of various sorts, every moment of your life. Recognise this truth. Marvellous, sacred and beautiful is Nature. Human beings, in deep involvement with mundane concerns, and in their insane conceit, regard themselves as the Master of Nature. Nature is your best teacher. It is Nature that presides over every aspect of your life and provides you with all nourishment. It can bless or punish you, its sway is extensive. God considers all things in creation as equal and He is immanent in all of them. Hence, do not regard God and Nature as distinct entities. They are inseparably interrelated like the object and its image. Ancient Indian scriptures regarded and worshipped every object in Nature as a divine manifestation. From a stone to a diamond, from an ant to an elephant, from a simple person to a sage, everything and every being was considered worthy of worship.

” ஆணவமும் பொறாமையும் அறிவுக்கு சத்துரு …”

பொறாமை! அது, மனிதர்கள் அனைவரையுமே ஆட்டிப் படைக்க கூடியது. அதற்கு, படித்தவர் – படிக்காதவர் என்ற பேதமில்லை; பொறாமை, உத்தமமான பக்தர்களைக் கூட ஆட்டிப் படைத்திருக்கிறது என்பதற்கு, இக்கதையே உதாரணம்.


கிஞ்சன்வாடி என்ற கிராமத்தில், கணேச பட்டர் எனும் விநாயக பக்தர் வாழ்ந்து வந்தார். விநாயகர் மீது அவர் வைத்திருந்த துாய பக்தியின் காரணமாக, அவர் அளிக்கும் விபூதி பிரசாதத்தால், நோய் மற்றும் பிரச்னைகள் தீரும்; வறுமை நீங்கும் என்று அப்பகுதி மக்கள் நம்பினர். அதன் காரணமாக, அனைவரும் கணேச பட்டரைப் போற்றினர்.
அதே காலகட்டத்தில், துகாராம் என்பவர் வாழ்ந்து வந்தார். அவர், ஞான திருஷ்டி படைத்தவர்; அத்துடன், அவர், பண்டரிநாதனுக்கு படைக்கும் உணவை இறைவன் உண்டு செல்வார் என்றெல்லாம் அவரின் புகழ் பரவியிருந்தது.
இவ்விஷயத்தை கேள்விப்பட்ட கணேச பட்டருக்கு, ஒரு குடம் பாலில், துளி விஷம் கலந்தாற் போல, மனதில் பொறாமை தீ வளர்ந்தது.
‘நாளை துகாராமிடம் போய், என் கண்முன் பண்டரிநாதனை
வரவழையுங்கள் பாக்கலாம் என கேட்கப் போறேன். அப்போது, அவரோட பொய் வெளிப்பட்டு விடும். அத்துடன், நான் விநாயகரை வரவழைத்து, துகாராமை விட நான் தான் பெரிய பக்தன் என, அனைவர் முன்பும் நிரூபிப்பேன்…’ என, சபதமிட்டார் கணேச பட்டர்.
மறுநாள், நீராடி, துாய ஆடைகள் அணிந்து, ஆசார அனுஷ்டானங்களை முடித்து, கோவிலுக்கு புறப்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தார் பட்டர். அப்போது, ‘ஸ்வாமி… உள்ளே வரலாமா?’ எனக் குரல் கேட்டது. வெளியே வந்து பார்த்தார். அங்கே, துகாராம் நின்று கொண்டிருந்தார். ‘ஸ்வாமி… நீங்க என்னைப் பாக்க விரும்புவதாகவும், அவருக்கு சிரமம் கொடுக்காமல், நீயே அவரைப் போய் பார்ன்னு பண்டரிநாதர் எனக்கு கட்டளையிட்டார். அதன்படி உங்களப் பாக்குறதுக்காக வந்துருக்கேன்…’ என்றார் துகாராம்.
அதைக் கேட்டதும், பட்டருக்கு கோபம் வந்து, ‘பொய் சொல்லாதீர்; இன்று நான் உங்கள சோதனை செய்ய வரப் போறத
எப்படியோ தெரிஞ்சு, பண்டரிநாதன் சொன்னதாக பொய் சொல்கிறீர். ஒரு சாதாரண வணிக குலத்தில் பிறந்த நீர், உயர் குலத்தில் பிறந்த என்னிடம் பொய் சொல்லாதீர்…’ என்றார்.
துகாராம் எவ்வளவோ சொல்லியும், அதை ஏற்கவில்லை பட்டர். இதனால், ‘சரி… இதோ நான் பண்டரிநாதரை அழைக்கிறேன், என் பக்திக்கு இரங்கி அவர் வருவார். நீங்க உங்க விநாயகரை அழையுங்க, நானும் அவரை தரிசிக்கிறேன்…’ என்றார்.
இதைக் கேட்டதும், பட்டருக்கு கோபம் அதிகமாகி, ‘அப்படியா… இதோ விநாயகரை அழைக்கிறேன்; அவர் கண்டிப்பாக வருவார்…’ என்றார்.
தகவல் அறிந்து ஊரே கூடி விட்டது. கணபதி பட்டர் கைகளைக் கூப்பி, மந்திரங்களைச் சொல்லத் துவங்கினார். ஊஹூம்… என்னென்னவோ செய்தும், விநாயகர் வரவில்லை.
அப்போது துகாராம், ‘ஸ்வாமி… விநாயகரின் பக்தர் ஒருவர், குளிப்பதற்காக குளத்திற்குச் சென்றிருந்தவர் படிக்கட்டில் வழுக்கி, குளத்தில் விழுந்து விட்டார். ‘கணேசா காப்பாற்று…’ என்று கதறிய அப்பக்தரை விநாயகர் காப்பாற்றி கரை சேர்த்து, அமைதிப்படுத்திக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார். அதனால் தான் உங்க குரலுக்கு வரவில்லை…’ என்று கண்களை மூடியபடியே சொன்னார்.
ஆனால், அதை நம்பவில்லை பட்டர்.
‘நான் சொல்வதில் நம்பிக்கை இல்லன்னா நீங்க பூஜை செய்யும் விநாயகர் கோவில்ல போய் பாருங்க உண்மை தெரியும்…’ என்றார். அதன்படி, பட்டரும், மற்றவர்களும் கோவிலுக்கு சென்று பார்த்த போது, அங்கே ஈரக் காலடிச் சுவடுகள் இருந்தன. விநாயகரின் திருமேனி முழுவதும் நனைந்திருந்தது. விநாயகர் அணிந்திருந்த ஆடைகளில் இருந்து, தண்ணீர் சொட்டிக் கொண்டிருந்தது.
அனைவரும் வியக்க, உண்மையை உணர்ந்த கணேச பட்டர் தலை குனிந்தார். அவர் மனதில் இருந்த பொறாமையும் அகன்றது.
ஆணவமும், பொறாமையும் அறிவுக்கு சத்ரு; அதுவும், ஆன்மிகத்தில், பொறாமை அறவே கூடாது.

கருத்து: எலும்புகளால் பின்னி, நரம்புகளால் இழுத்துக் கட்டி, ரத்தம், சதையால் அமைக்கப்பட்ட, உடம்பு எனும் வீட்டில், உயிர் என்பது இன்பமாக நிலை பெற்று இருக்கிறது. அவ்வாறு உடம்பையும், உயிரையும் சேர்த்துத் திருவருள் புரிந்த இறைவனை, துாய்மையான அன்பினால் நான் நாடுகிறேன்.

” How are You Related to each other …” ?

Shri Amravaneshwaran was a close devotee of Mahaswamigal. He used to do all the sundry work at Kanchi Mutt. One day his friend’s in-laws expressed their desire to have His darshan and he agreed to take them. Swamigal was in His mid nineties and used to give just an hour’s darshan that time. People had queued and were walking by Him one by one. At that time Shri Amravaneshwaran happened to stand close to Him and heard Him remark to another person,

“I am unable to see clearly at all, I am getting old!”.

To which that person replied in a nice sort of way that, “Yes, age is catching up with Swamigal’, what to do.”

People were moving on in the line. Then came the turn of Shri Amravaneshwaran’s friend’s in-laws. Swamigal looked at them and told Shri Amravaneshwaran to call back another couple who already had Darshan and were standing at a distance. They were brought to Him.

Swamigal looked at both the families and asked,

“How are you related to each other?”

Both the families blinked and said they have never met each other at all.

Then He asked Shri Amravaneshwaran to take both the families away and find out how they were related.

Shri Amravaneshwaran came to know that the family who were brought back were Chettiars. And his friend’s family were Madhwas! Shri Amravaneshwaran was flabbergasted! How could there be a connection between the two families!

But Shri Amravaneshwaran was wise enough to quickly realize that as the words had come from The Sarveshwaran Himself, it was bound to be true and decided to pursue the matter deeper.

He asked them more questions in the next 30 minutes. His friend’s family resided in Madras and the Chettiars in Coimbatore?! As he started to dig deeper and deeper it came to light that once the niece of his friend’s in-laws was hospitalized in Madras. At the same time the Chettiars has come to Madras for a different reason. And it so happened that it was the Chettiars who had donated blood to this Madhwa girl. They were Blood Relations indeed!!! The families were stunned when this truth revealed itself.

Shri Amravaneshwaran came to Swamigal to apprise Him of the story.

That ‘Old, Who-had-trouble-seeing’ Sarveshwaran gently nodded His head and said, “Oh, appadiyaa, is that the matter!”

Without the trace of any excitement, and very calm and matter of fact was He. Like Dakshinamurthy Himself…

Love can be cultivated through two methods: Always consider the faults of others, however big, to be insignificant and negligible. Always consider your own faults, however insignificant and negligible, to be big, and feel sad and repentant. Through this path, you avoid developing bigger faults and defects and acquire the virtues of brotherliness and forbearance. Next, whatever you do, with yourself or with others, do it remembering that God is omnipresent. He sees and hears and knows all. Remember that God hears every word; discriminate between the true and the false and speak only the truth. Discriminate between right and wrong and do only the right. Endeavour every moment to be aware of the omnipotence of God. The body is the temple of the individual, so whatever happens in that temple is the concern of the individual. So too, the world is the body of the Lord, and all that happens in it, good or bad, is His concern.

Message For the Day…” Maya Veils and Renders Divine as Unreal… Do Not Get Yourself Carried Away From the Truth”

We know a great deal about the cosmos. Physical sciences discovered much using the instruments of human mind and the eye. The eye and mind describe and analyze things as they are, as they see at that moment. However the objects they see are subject to constant flux and change. We have the least awareness about the truth that doesn’t change. That unchanging principle is Brahman, the Eternal Divine Principle, on which the manifest Universe is based. Do not hesitate to accept this fact or doubt it just because your eye or mind cannot perceive it. A person who sees the dry stump of a tree at night is afraid that it may be a ghost or a bizarre human being. It is neither, though it is perceived as either. The reason for this misperception is ‘darkness’. Darkness imposes on something, something else that is not there. Similarly false perception (maya) veils and renders Divine (Brahman) as unreal.

Message For the Day…”Discard Both Praise and Blame …”

Every aspirant who seeks the Divine through the path of devotion should strive to keep away from the turmoil, cruelties, and falsehoods of this world and practice truth, righteousness, love, and peace. Those who seek union with God and the welfare of the world should discard as worthless both praise and blame, appreciation and derision, prosperity and adversity. They should courageously keep steady faith in their own innate reality and dedicate themselves to spiritual uplift. No one, including a Maha-purusha (Avatar), can ever escape criticism and blame. But such people do not bend, but hold on to truth. Those who indulge in criticism or blame later wade through unbearable trouble and then realise the real nature of great ones and start to praise them. Their weakness and ignorance is the root-cause for such criticism. So, keep away from doubters and ignorant people and desist from discussing your beliefs with them.

The vehicle of human life is drawn by the senses, driven by the intellect, with discrimination and detachment as the reins on the two wheels of Time and Action. The spokes of the wheel are the rules of righteousness, bound by the rim of Love. Your journey will be smooth, if your axle is Truth and your goal is Peace. Be careful to not exaggerate the importance of things that have material utility. They fade, even while you grasp them. Search for truth (Sath) – that which suffers no change, and Awareness (Chith) – the state of consciousness which is pure, unaffected by gusts of passion and is free from egoism or the desire to possess. Then you will experience Light, and illumine the Path for others. Experience the joy that emanates from Love with no blemish of attachment.
