பெற்றோர் போற்றுதும்! …

நாம் ஒவ்வொருவரும் ஒரு கட்டத்தில் பெற்றோராகிறோம் என்றாலும், அந்த நேரத்தில் நம்மைப் பெற்றோரை நினைத்துப் பார்க்கும் போதுதான் அவர்கள் பட்ட கஷ்டம் நமக்குப் புரிகிறது. வாழ்க்கையில் வயது கூடக் கூட பாசமும் பயமும் பக்குவமும் அதிகரிக்கும் என்பது பொதுவான விதி. தன்னுடைய பிள்ளைகளின் எதிர்காலம் சிறப்பாக அமைய வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக தங்களுடைய நிகழ்காலத்தின் சுமைகளைத் தாங்கும் உறவுகள் தாய், தந்தையைத் தவிர வேறு உண்டா? வாழ்க்கையில் எத்தனையோ வளர்ச்சிகளைப் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு உரித்தாக்கி அவற்றைக் கண்ணாரக் கண்டு மகிழ்வோர் பெற்றோர் மட்டுமே.

அறிவியல் வளர்ச்சி மனிதனை ஆகாயம் வரை உயர்த்தி விட்டது. அந்த அபார வெளிச்சத்தில் உறவு, பந்தம், பாசம், நேசம் அன்பு எல்லாம் பொசுங்கிப் போய் விட்டன. மனித நேயம் கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக மரித்துப் போய் விட்டது. ஆனால், இன்றளவும் அதற்கு விதி விலக்காக இருப்பது பெற்றோர் – பிள்ளைகள் உறவு மட்டும்தானே. தாயும், தந்தையும் தன் பிள்ளைகள் மேல் வைத்திருக்கும் அன்பையும் பாசத்தையும் எந்த அறிவியலால் பிரிக்க முடியும்?

பிள்ளைகள் உதட்டில் புன்னகையைப் பார்த்தால் பரவசப்படுவதும், கண்களில் கலக்கத்தைக் கண்டால் ஓடி வந்து தாங்கிப் பிடிப்பதும் ஈன்றெடுத்த தாயும், பேணி வளர்த்த தந்தையும்தானே.

உணவு – உடை – பண்பாடு – கலாசாரம் எல்லாம் மாறிப் போனாலும், தலைமுறைகளைக் கடந்தும் மாறாதவை அன்னையின் அன்பும் தந்தையின் பாசமும்தான். அந்தத் தூய்மையான அன்பிலும் கலப்படமில்லாத பாசத்திலும் திளைத்த பிள்ளைகள், தங்கள் பெற்றோரைக் கொண்டாட வேண்டாமா? விழா எடுத்து மகிழ வேண்டாமா? பெற்றோரைக் கொண்டாடப் பிள்ளைகளுக்குக் காரணம் தேவையில்லை என்றாலும், சமூகம் சில காரணங்களைக் கண்டுபிடித்து வைத்திருக்கிறது. மணி விழா, முத்து விழா, வைர விழா, அறுபதாண்டு விழா, எண்பதாண்டு விழா என, ஏதாவது ஒரு பெயரில் விழா எடுக்கலாம். பெயர் முக்கியமல்ல; பெற்றோரைப் போற்றுவதே முக்கியம்.

அடுத்த பிறவியிலும் இவர்களுக்கே மகனாகவோ, மகளாகவோ பிறக்க வேண்டும் என்று மனமுருகி வேண்ட வேண்டும். பெற்றோரின் மறைவுக்குப் பிறகு அவர்களுக்கு நினைவு நாள் கடைப்பிடிப்பது இவற்றையெல்லாம் விட, பெற்றோர் வாழும் போதே அவர்களைப் போற்றிக் கொண்டாட வேண்டும். காரணம், பெற்றோரைப் போற்றிக் கொண்டாடுவோரே நிறைவான வாழ்க்கை வாழ்ந்தவராவர்.

நம்மில் எத்தனை பேர் நம்முடைய பிறந்த நாள், திருமண நாள் மற்றும் பண்டிகை நாள்களில் நமது பெற்றோரின் கால்களில் விழுந்து ஆசி பெற்றிருக்கிறோம்? கட்சித் தலைவர்கள், திரைப்பட நடிகர்களின் கால்களில் கூச்சப்படாமல் விழுபவர்கள் கூட, பெற்றோர் காலில் விழுவதற்குக் கூச்சப்படுகிறார்கள் அல்லது தயங்குகிறார்கள்.

ஒரு கையை நீட்டி எந்தப் பொருள்களும் கொடுக்கக் கூடாது. அந்தக் கையை மறு கையால் பிடித்துக் கொண்டே கொடுக்க வேண்டும். பெரியவர்கள் முன்பாக கால் மேல் கால் போட்டபடியோ, கால் ஆட்டியபடியோ உட்காரக் கூடாது.

பிறந்த நாள், பண்டிகைக் காலங்களில் பெற்றோர் காலில் விழுந்து ஆசி வாங்க வேண்டும். கோயிலுக்குப் போகும் போதும் பெரியவர்களைப் பார்க்கப் போகும்போதும் வெறுங்கையுடன் போகக் கூடாது. இவற்றையெல்லாம் பின்பற்றிப் பார்த்தால்தான் அருமை புரியும். தமிழர் பண்பாடே இப்படி என்றால் தமிழர்கள் பெற்றோரைப் பராமரிக்கும் விதம் எப்படி இருக்க வேண்டும்.

இது போன்ற நல்ல விஷயங்களையெல்லாம் எடுத்துச் சொல்லி நம்மை வாழ்க்கையில் வழி நடத்த அனுபவம் மிக்க நமது பெற்றோரால் மட்டுமே முடியும். அப்படிப்பட்ட பெற்றோரைப் போற்றி வாழ்ந்தால் நம் வாழ்க்கை இனிதாக அமையும் என்பதில் சிறிதும் ஐயமில்லை!

Message For the Day…” Need of the Hour is Harmony of Religions and Faith…”

Since many separate religions have spread worldwide, they have lost fraternal feelings and thereby have suffered in validity. There is an urgent need for harmony. The principle of harmonizing is the very heart of all religions and faiths. The principles of coordination and reconciliation must be expanded and expounded. Though religions have separate names and distinct doctrines, in essence, all are one emphasising a common core. The experience and wisdom of great seers who have unveiled the mystery of the cosmos and their feelings of universal love are not appreciated, accepted, and respected. The same God is extolled and adored in various names through varied ceremonial rituals. In every age, in every race, God sent prophets to establish peace and goodwill. All great people are images of God. They form one single caste in the realm of God; they belong to one nation, the Divine Fellowship.

பெரியவா எல்லாம் அறிந்தவர் என்பதற்கு இன்னொரு நிகழ்ச்சி.

மூலம்——-மஹாபெரியவாள் தரிசன அனுபவங்கள்—–ஆறாம் தொகுதி

சொன்னவர்——ஸ்ரீமடம் பாலு மாமா.

தொகுத்தவர்—–டி.எஸ்.கோதண்டராம சர்மா.

பதிப்பகம்——வானதி பதிப்பகம்.

நவநீதசோரன்.

சந்தானராமன், பெரியவாளை நமஸ்கரித்துவிட்டு தன்னுடைய பூர்வீகம், பெயர் போன்ற விவரங்களைச் சொன்னார்.

“நீ நவநீதசோரநன்தானே?”

சந்தானராமனுக்கு ஒரே திகைப்பு!.

“ஆமாம்”

“இப்போ எங்கே இருக்கே? என்ன பண்றே? பத்னி, குழந்தைகள்…?”

“டில்லியிலே இருக்கேன். பெரிய உத்யோகம், மனைவி, குழந்தைகள் சௌக்கியம்…”

பெரியவாள் அணுக்கத் தொண்டர்களைப் பார்த்தார்கள்.

“இவன் கதை தெரியுமோ?”

‘தெரியாது’ என்று எல்லோரும் தலையாட்டினார்கள்.

பெரியவா கதை சொன்னார்கள்.

“சந்தானராமன் வசதியான குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்த ஒரே பையன். பெற்றோர்கள் படு சிக்கனம். குழம்பு, ரஸம், மோர்—–அவ்வளவுதான் தினமும்.

பத்து வயதுப் பையன், மற்றப் பையஙன்கள் போண்டா, வடை, பஜ்ஜி, தோசை, இட்லி என்றெல்லாம் சாப்பிடுவதைப் பார்க்கும்போது, ஏங்கிப்போவான்.

நாக்குச் சபலத்தைத் தீர்த்துக்கொள்ளணுமே?…

வழி கண்டுபிடித்தான்.

அப்பாவின் சட்டைப்பையில் கைவிட்டான். நிறைய காசுகள் இருந்தன. ஒரு அணா( இன்றைய 12 பைசா) மட்டும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டான். ஒரு வடை—ராமு ஐயர் காப்பி கிளப்பில்!

மறுநாள் ஓர் அணா——–பஜ்ஜி!

அடுத்த நாள் ஓர் அணா—போண்டா.

இவன் அப்பாவுக்கு சந்தேகம் தட்ட ஆரம்பித்தது. ‘பையில் காசு குறைகிறமாதிரி இருக்கே…’

ஒருநாள் கையும் களவுமாக அகப்பட்டுக்கொண்டான், சந்தானராமன்.

வழக்கம்போல் பெரியவா தரிசனத்துக்கு வந்தார்கள் அந்தக் குடும்பத்தினர்.

தகப்பனார், பெரியவாளிடம் முறையிட்டார்.

“…பையன் திருட ஆரம்பிச்சுட்டான். இப்பவே இப்படி இருந்தால், பிற்பாடு திருட்டுப் பழக்கம் வந்துடுமோன்னு கவலையாயிருக்கு…பெரியவா புத்தி சொல்லணும்….”

பெரியவாள் உதடு பிரியாமல் சிரித்தார்கள்.

“பகவான் கிருஷ்ணன் கூட சின்ன வயசில், வெண்ணெய், தயிர், பால் திருடியதாகச் சொல்வார்கள். அதனால் அவனுக்கு, நவநீதசோரன்னே பேர் வந்துடுத்து. உன் பிள்ளை சின்னப்பையன். நாக்கு கிடந்து அலையறது. சகஜம்தானே…. வாய்க்கு ருசியாக பட்சணங்கள் பண்ணிக் கொடுக்கச் சொல்லு. வசதியில்லாத குடும்பமா இருந்தா—–‘அப்பாவைத் தொந்திரவு செய்யாதே; திருடாதே’நன்னு பையனுக்கு புத்தி சொல்லலாம். இப்போ உனக்குத்தான் சொல்லணும். Pocket expense—க்கு அப்பப்போ ஓரணா—-ரெண்டணா கொடு. இனிமேல் திருடமாட்டான். பெரிய உத்யோகம் பார்ப்பான்….
என்று சொல்லி கதையை முடித்தார்கள் பெரியவா.
பெரியவ குரலை ஏற்றி இறக்கி, கைகளை ஆட்டி அசைத்துக் கதை சொன்னதை எல்லோரும் சுவைத்தார்கள்.

‘நவநீதசோரன்’ கண்களில் யமுனை பெருகிக்கொண்டிருந்தது!

Morning after the Zoo's New Year's Party‏ 004

 

As we progress into 2015, I want to thank you for
your educational e-mails over the past year. I am
totally screwed up now and have little chance of recovery.

I can no longer open a bathroom door without  using
a paper towel, nor let the waitress put lemon slices in
my ice water without worrying about the bacteria on
the lemon  peel.

I can’t sit down on a hotel bedspread because I  can
only imagine what has happened on it since it was last washed.

Eating a little snack sends me on a guilt trip because I
can only imagine how many gallons of trans fats I have
consumed over the years.

I can’t touch any woman’s  handbag for fear she has placed
it on the floor of a public  toilet.

I must send my special thanks for the email about rat poo
in the glue on envelopes because I now have to use a wet
sponge with every envelope that needs  sealing.

ALSO,now I have to scrub the top of every can I open for
the same reason.

I can’t use cancer-causing deodorants even though I smell
like a water buffalo on a hot  day.

Thanks to you I have learned that my prayers only get answered
if I forward an e-mail to seven of my friends and make a wish
within five minutes.

Because of your concern, I no longer drink Coca Cola because
it can remove toilet  stains.

I no longer buy fuel without taking someone  along to watch the car,
so a serial killer doesn’t crawl in my back seat when I’m filling up.

I no longer use  Cling Wrap in the microwave because it causes
seven different types of cancer.

And thanks for letting me know I can’t boil a cup of water
in the microwave anymore because it will blow up in my face,
disfiguring me for life.

I no longer go to  the cinema because I could be pricked with a
needle infected with AIDS when I sit down.

I no longer go to shopping  centers because someone will drug
me with a perfume sample and rob me..

And I no longer answer the phone because someone will ask
me to dial a number for which I will get a  huge phone bill with
calls to Jamaica, Uganda, Singapore and Uzbekistan.

And thanks to your great advice I can’t ever pick up a
dime coin dropped in the car park X-Spam-Subject: YES X-Spam-Subject: YES because it was  probably
placed there by a sex molester waiting to grab me as I bend over.


I can’t do any gardening, because I’m afraid I’ll get bitten
by the Violin Spider and my hand will fall off.


Now…….If you don’t send this e-mail to at least 144,000 people in
the next 70 minutes, a large dove with diarrhea will land
on your head at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow afternoon, and the
fleas  from 120 camels will infest your back, causing you
to grow a hairy  hump. I know this will occur because it
actually happened to a  friend of my next door neighbor’s
ex mother-in-law’s second  husband’s cousin’s best friend’s
beautician!  JUST  KIDDING….!

Oh, and by the way…

A German scientist from Argentina, after a lengthy  study,
has discovered that people with insufficient brain activity read their e-mails with their hand on the mouse.

Don’t  bother taking it off now, it’s too late.

P. S. I now keep my  toothbrush in the living room, because
I was told by e-mail that  water splashes over 6 ft. out

If the I-consciousness in you, produces the pride “I know all”, a fall is inevitable; the delusion causes death. The secret of salvation lies in the realisation of this danger. Rebirth is inevitable if this danger is not averted. Immerse yourself in spiritual practices, then the world and its worries will not affect you. It is only when you are far from this truth that you suffer, feel pain, and experience travail. At a distance from the bazaar, one hears only a huge indistinct uproar. But as you approach it, you can clearly distinguish the separate bargainings. So too, till you get to know the reality of the Supreme, you are overpowered and stunned by the uproar of the world; but once you enter deep into the realm of spiritual endeavour, everything becomes clear and the knowledge of the reality awakens within you. Until then, you will swirl in the meaningless noise of argumentation, disputation, and exhibitionist flamboyance.

Message For The day… Sri Rama Navami…”Ramayana must be Experienced in the Heart…”

Today is a sacred day to recapitulate the Glory of God and His relationship with human beings. Ramayana is not a story that had an end. You are living it. Ramayana must be experienced in the heart; not investigated as a mental phenomenon. As you go on reading and ruminating, its inner meaning will become clear even as your mind is cleansed. Rama is the son of Dasharatha(one with ten chariots). The ten chariots are the senses, the fiveKarmendhriyaas (sense organs of action) and the fiveJnaanendhriyaas (organs of perception). Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi and Prema are the four children of King Dasharatha. Rama is Sathya; Bharatha is Dharma; Lakshmana is Prema and Shatrughna is Shanthi. Take these great characters from Ramayana as your life’s ideals, your life will be filled with peace and joy.

In 2001, John Bramblitt lost his eyesight after an epileptic episode. Shortly after, Bramblitt started painting in a most interesting way: By using textured paint, John can tell where he painted and what, allowing him to virtually “see” the painting. The resulting paintings are a thing of beauty, rivaling and even surpassing art created by artists with perfect sight.

In this Art Therapy Video from Veria Living, Blind Artist John Bramblitt began to lose his eyesight when he was just 11 years old, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at his work. He uses a special fabric paint that leaves raised lines on the canvas so he can track his progress. For colors, he says each color of paint has a different feel. He knows the colors by touch. Believe it or not, John says the world’s a much more colorful place now that he’s blind.

The almanac (calendar) might indicate that ten units of rain will fall, but even if the daily sheet on the calendar is folded ten times and squeezed, not a drop of rain can be extracted. The purpose of the calendar is not to give rain but only to give information about rain and its quantity; its pages do not contain the ten units of rain which is there only in the clouds above. So too, the scriptures (shastras) can only give information about doctrines, axioms, rules, regulations, and duties. The sublime characteristics of the Vedas, the Upanishads, and scriptures are that they give instruction in the methods of attaining peace and liberation. But they aren’t saturated with these essences of bliss; one can’t collect the essences by squeezing the texts. One has to discover the path, direction, and goal as described in them, and then tread the path, follow the direction, and reach the goal.
