Everyone should so lead life that no pain is caused to any living thing. That is their supreme duty. Also, it is the prime duty of everyone who has had the chance of this human birth, to spare a part of their energies occasionally to prayer, repetition of the Lord’s name, meditation, etc. Everyone must equate living with truth, righteousness, peacefulness, and good works that are of service to others. One must be as afraid of doing acts that are harmful to others or deeds that are sinful as one is now afraid to touch fire or disturb a cobra. One must have as much attachment and steadfastness in carrying out good works, in making others happy, and in worshiping the Lord as one now has in accumulating gold and riches. This is the code of conduct (dharma) of all human beings.

வலையில் படித்த தகவல்.

தனியார் ஆபீஸில் தன்னுடைய பதினெட்டாவது வயஸில், shorthand, typewriting, SSLC certificates உடன் வேலைக்கு சேர்ந்து, ஐம்பத்தெட்டாவது வயஸில் retire ஆகி வீட்டில் உட்கார்ந்தார் ஒரு பக்தர்.

அவர் வஹித்த பதவி, அவருக்கு ஏகப்பட்ட பணம், செல்வாக்கு எல்லாவற்றையும் குடுத்திருந்தாலும், அவருடைய உள் மனஸில் வெறும் சூன்யமாகவே இருந்தது. வேலை, வேலை என்று உயிரைக் குடுத்து உத்யோகம் பார்த்ததில், “நான் யார்?” என்று அரை நிமிஷம் கூட சிந்திக்காமல் விட்டுவிட்டார்.

அதன் பலன்? retire ஆனதும், அத்தனை நாள் மாங்கு மாங்கென்று எந்தக் கம்பெனிக்காக உழைத்தாரோ, அந்த routine, நண்பர்கள்,எல்லாமே ஒரு நொடியில், ஒரு பிரிவுபசார பார்ட்டியோடு அவரை விட்டுத் தள்ளிப் போய்விட்டன!

பெற்ற பிள்ளையும் மாட்டுப்பெண்ணும் கல்கத்தாவில் இருந்தார்கள். அங்கேயெல்லாம் போனால், போய் இறங்கின அன்று இருக்கும் மரியாதையும் உபசரிப்பும், நாலு நாளைக்கு மேல் நீடித்தால், அது அவர் செய்த பாக்யம்!

பிள்ளை நல்ல உத்தியோகம்; ரொம்ப நல்லவன்; ஆனால், என்ன ப்ரயோஜனம்? மாட்டுப்பெண்ணும் நல்லவள்தான்…. யாருக்கு? பிள்ளைக்கு!

பெற்றவர்களை ஒதுக்கி விட்டு, பிள்ளையை மட்டும் தன்னுடைய குடும்பமாக நினைப்பவள்; பிறந்த வீட்டார் மேல் அபரிமிதமான கரிசனம்.

இப்படி இருக்கும் வீட்டில் தான் போய் அதிக நாட்கள் தங்கினால், இப்போதிருக்கும் பேச்சு வார்த்தை கூட அறுந்து போய்விடும் என்று தயங்கினார்.

யார் வழி காட்டுவார்கள்? “நீனே அநாத பந்து” என்று பெரியவாளுடைய திருவடியில் வந்து விழுந்தார்.

மனசுக்குள், எங்கே போவது? யாருடன் தங்குவது? ஜன்மாவை கடைத்தேற்றிக் கொள்ளாமல் ஐம்பத்தெட்டு வருஷம் கோட்டை விட்டாச்சு !…. என்று ஒரே குழப்பம்.

எதுவுமே பேசாமல் நமஸ்காரம் பண்ணிவிட்டு ஒரு ஓரமாக நின்றார். பெரியவா அவரைப் பார்த்தார்….. உடனே அருகில் வந்து மிகவும் பவ்யமாக, “பெரியவா அநுக்ரஹத்ல அனேகமா எல்லா க்ஷேத்ரங்களும் தர்ஸனம் பண்ணிட்டோம். போனவாரம் தலைக்காவேரி போயிட்டு, அப்டியே காவேரிப்பூம்பட்டிணம் போய்ட்டு வந்தோம்…”

காவேரி உற்பத்தி ஸ்தானத்லயும், சங்கமத்துலேயும் ரொம்ப குறுகலாத்தானே இருக்கு?”

“ஆமா…..”

“காவேரி, ரொம்ம்…ம்ப அகலமா இருக்கற மத்ய ஸ்தானத்துக்கு என்ன பேரு?”

“அகண்ட காவேரி”

“அது எங்க இருக்கு?”

“திருச்சி பக்கத்ல …”

“அந்த ப்ரதேசத்துக்கு என்ன பேரு?”

பக்தர் முழித்தார்!…..

“மழநாடு…ன்னு கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கியோ?”

“எங்க தாத்தா சொல்லுவார்”

காவேரி தீரம்தான் மழநாடு; ரொம்ப ஆசாரக்காரா இருந்த நாடு; ஒன்னோட தாத்தா இருந்த எடம்”

பக்தருக்கு இதெல்லாம் எதுவுமே தெரியவில்லை. நெளிந்தார்.

ஆஹா! அடுத்து பெரியவா, இவர் எதுவும் சொல்லாமலேயே, இவருடைய குழப்பத்தை தீர்த்து வைத்தார்!

“திருச்சில ஜாகை வெச்சுக்கோ!

தெனமும் ஒரு கோவிலுக்கு போ! உச்சிப் பிள்ளையார், மாத்ருபூதேஸ்வரர், அகிலாண்டேஸ்வரி, ஜம்புலிங்கம், ஸ்ரீரங்கம் ரங்கநாதர், வயலூர் முருகன், குணசீலம் ஸ்ரீநிவாஸ பெருமாள்…. இப்டியா தர்சனம் பண்ணிண்டு இரு!”

“தெய்வம் பேசுமா?”…என்று சந்தேஹம் வருபவர்களுக்கு, இதோ! தெய்வம் பேசுகிறது! என்று உண்மையான மஹான்கள் முன்னால் கொண்டு போய் நிறுத்தி விடலாம்.

கண்களில் நன்றிக் கண்ணீரோடு நமஸ்காரம் பண்ணிவிட்டு, பெரியவா சொன்னபடி திருச்சியில் ஜாகை பார்க்கச் சென்றார்.

மலைக்கோட்டை தெருவில் அம்சமான வீடும் கிடைத்தது!

பெரியவா சொன்னபடி தன் வாழ்க்கை முறையை அமைத்துக் கொண்டபடியால் கட்டாயம் “வீடு பேறும்” கிடைக்கும்

‘Mine’ and ‘yours’ — these attitudes are only for identification. They are not real; they are temporary. ‘His’(All belongs to the Lord) — that is the truth, the eternal. It is like the headmaster of a school being in temporary charge of the furniture of the school. He has to hand over the items when he is transferred or retired. Treat all things with which you are endowed just as the headmaster treats the furniture. Be always aware that the final checking-up is imminent. Wait for that moment with joy. Be ready for that event. Have your accounts up to date and the balance already calculated to be handed over. Treat all things entrusted to you with care and diligence

Message for the Day…” Faith Develops into Love , and Love Results in Concentration…”

People driving cars concentrate on the road, for they are anxious to save themselves and others from accidents. Fear is what induces single-mindedness here. But Love is a greater force for achieving concentration. If you have steady and resolute love, concentration becomes intense and unshakeable. Faith develops into love, and love results in concentration. And under these conditions, prayer begins to yield fruit. Pray keeping all the waves of the mind stilled. Pray, as the performance of a duty for your very real existence, as the only justification for your coming into the world as a human. Narayana is the Lord of the Water (naaram means water). But what is the water of which He is the Lord of? He resides in the heart, and His presence when recognised melts even the stoniest heart, and water emanates from the eye as tears of joy, gratitude, and fullness! The function of your tears is not to weep like a fool or a coward but to express internal joy.

The doctor first diagnoses the disease and then prescribes the course of treatment. So too, you must submit yourself to the diagnosis of your illness, viz. misery, travail, and pain through Self-Enquiry. Investigate fearlessly and with care, and you will find that your nature is bliss(ananda)! You have falsely identified yourself with the temporary, the frivolous and the paltry, and that attachment brings sorrow. Realise that both joy and sorrow are passing phases, like clouds across the blue sky. Learn to treat prosperity and adversity with equanimity. Just as fish lives only when it is immersed in water, so too human being lives only when immersed in bliss. You must have bliss at home, in society, and in the world, but more than all, in your heart. Your heart is the spring of joy. That spring must be touched by constant recitation of Lord’s Name and dwelling on His Glory. Never give way to doubt or despair.

Message For the Day…” Always be Cheerful, Smiling and Enthusiastic…’

It is not the nature of a spiritual aspirant to search for faults in others and hide their own. If your faults are pointed out to you by someone, don’t argue and try to prove yourself right, and don’t bear a grudge against them for it. Reason out within yourself how it is a fault and set right your own behaviour. Rationalising it for your own satisfaction or wreaking vengeance on the person who pointed it out —these are not the traits of a spiritual aspirant or devotee. Depression, doubt, conceit —these will harm one’s practices and are akin to Rahu and Kethu (planets which bring ill-luck). When your devotion is well established, these qualities will be easily discarded. Seek always the truthful and the joyful, and avoid all thoughts which are untrue, sad and depressing. Always be cheerful, smiling, and enthusiastic under all circumstances. This pure attitude is most desirable. Never get inflated when praised or deflated when blamed – be a spiritual lion!

” மஹா பெரியவா கையில் ஒரு வேல் …” ஒரு பக்தரின் அனுபவம் …

மகா பெரியவா சரணம்.
கடந்த சனி மற்றும் ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமைகளில் பெங்களூர் பனஸ்வாடி ‘வேல் பூஜை அன்பர்கள்’ நடத்திய மூன்றாம் ஆண்டு விழா வைபவத்தில் கலந்து கொண்டு அவர்கள் ஏற்பாடு செய்த கூட்டத்தில் (பெங்களூர் அல்சூர் ஏரி அருகே உள்ள ஒடுக்கத்தூர் ஸ்வாமிகள் திருமடத்தில்) சொற்பொழிவாற்றினேன்.
இரு தினங்களும் திரளான பக்தர்கள் கூட்டம். இந்த நிகழ்வின் இரண்டாம் நாள் வைபவத்தை என் முகநூலில் பதிவிட்டேன். முருக பக்தர்களது உருக்கமான வரவேற்பும் உற்சாகமும் என்னை நெகிழ்வடைய வைத்து விட்டது.
திங்கள் காலை சென்னை திரும்பினேன். அன்று மதியம் திருச்சியில் உள்ள எனது நண்பர் (மங்கள் ஹோம் பில்டர்ஸ்) திரு முரளி அழைத்தார். அவரது ப்ராஜெக்ட் பூர்த்தி ஆகி, வீடுகள் ஒப்படைக்கும் விழாவில் கலந்து கொண்ட நண்பர் ஒருவர், வேல் ஒன்றை பரிசாக அளித்ததாகச் சொல்லி, எப்படி வழிபட வேண்டும் என்று என்னிடம் கேட்டார்.
அவராக அன்பளிப்பாக வந்த வேல் பற்றி என்னிடம் ஏன் கேட்க வேண்டும் என்று நான் யோசித்தேன்.
அடுத்த நாளான இன்று காலை பெரியவா அதிஷ்டானம் தரிசனத்துக்காக காஞ்சிபுரம் சென்றேன். அற்புதமான தரிசனம். அதன் பின் ஓரிக்கை சென்றேன்.
ஓரிக்கை பெரியவா திருச்சந்நிதியில் மூலவர் பெரியவா விக்கிரகத்துக்கு முன்னால் திருப்பாதுகைக்கு அருகில் ஒரு சிறிய பெரியவா விக்கிரமம் (இதுதான் அனுஷத்தின்போது தேரில் வலம் வருமாம்). அவர் தோளில் ஒரு சிறு வேல் சார்த்தி இருந்தார்கள். எனக்கு ஆச்சரியம். இதற்கு முன் இந்த விக்கிரகம் என் கண்ணில் பட்டதும் இல்லை. அதுவும் வித்தியாசமாக வேல்!
சனி மற்றும் ஞாயிறில் பெங்களூரில் வேல் பூஜை அன்பர்கள் வைபவம்.
அடுத்த நாள் திங்கட்கிழமை வேல் பற்றி நண்பர் முரளியின் விசாரிப்பு.
நான்காம் நாள் செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை ஓரிக்கை பெரியவாளிடம் ஒரு வேல்.
எனக்கு ஆச்சரியம். தொடர்ந்து வேல்!
ஓரிக்கையில் பெரியவாளுக்குக் கைங்கர்யம் செய்யும் திரு கணபதியிடம் ‘என்னது… பெரியவாளிடம் வேல் இருக்கு?’ என்று கேட்டதற்கு, ‘வாங்கோ… பிள்ளையார் சந்நிதிக்கு’ என்று கூட்டிச் சென்று பிள்ளையாரிடமும் ஒரு சிறு வேலைக் காண்பித்தார்.
ஆச்சரியம் விடவில்லை.
எனது வேல் அனுபவங்களை நெகிழ்வுடன் அவரிடம் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டேன்.
ஓரிக்கை கணபதி சொன்னார்: ‘‘பெரியவா கிட்ட வேல் இருக்கிறது பத்தி பலரும் கேக்கலை. உங்களைக் கேக்க வைக்கறார்.
நீங்க எப்படி வேல் அனுபவங்களைச் சொல்றேளோ, அதுபோல்தான் இங்கும். ஓரிக்கை அடிக்கடி வர்ற ஒரு பக்தர் பழநி செல்வதாகச் சொன்னார். அங்கே ஏதாவது வாங்கிண்டு வரணுமா என்று கேட்டார். பழநிலேர்ந்து வேல் வாங்கிண்டு வாங்கோ. பெரியவாளுக்கு சமர்ப்பிங்கோ’ என்று சொன்னேன்.
பழநியில் தரிசனம் முடிந்து அவருக்கு வேல் வாங்கி இருக்கிறார். வேல் வாங்கி வரும்போது (ஒன்றுக்கு இரண்டு வேல் வாங்கி இருக்கிறார்) அவர் ஓட்டி வந்த கார் மிகப் பெரிய விபத்தை சந்தித்து, காரில் இருந்தவர்களுக்கு எந்த வித சேதமும் இல்லாமல், கார் அப்பளம் ஆகியுள்ளது. ஆச்சரியத்திலும் ஆச்சரியம்.
விபத்தின் அதிர்ச்சியில் இருந்து கொஞ்சமும் விலகாமல், அந்த பக்தர் சிலிர்ப்புடன் வந்து இந்த இரண்டு வேலையும் இங்கே சமர்ப்பித்தார். ‘இந்த வேல்தான் என்னை காப்பாத்தி இருக்கு’ என்று உருகினார்.
அவர் வாங்கி வந்து சமர்ப்பித்த இரண்டு வேல்களில் ஒன்று பெரியவாளிடம்; இன்னொன்று விநாயகரிடம்.
உங்களையும் வேல் தொடர்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது. ஏதேனும் முருகன் கோயிலுக்குச் சென்று தரிசிக்குமாறு பெரியவா சொல்றார் போலிருக்கு’’ என்று முடித்தார்.
தரிசனம் முடிந்து டிராவல்ஸ் காரில் தாம்பரம் திரும்பிக் கொண்டிருக்கும்போது வாலாஜாபாத் அருகே முன்னால் சென்ற லாரியின் பின்புறம் பெரிதாக எழுதி இருந்த வாசகம்:
சக்தி வேல். கூடவே, வேலின் படம் வேறு!
சுவாமிமலைக்குக் கூடிய விரைவில் பயணப்பட வேண்டும்.
எங்கூர் முருகன். எனக்கு ரொம்பவும் பிடித்த ஸ்வாமிநாதன்… குருஸ்வாமி…

Message For the Day…” Understand Properly the True and Divine Nature of the AHAM {I}….

You may ask: “How am I to declare, Aham Brahmasmi (I am Divine)?” Yes, you can do so. But, first understand the Aham, the ‘I’, the Divine Principle. Scriptures declare – Ekam Eva adhvitheyam Brahma – The Absolute is One without a second. Though people worship the Absolute with different names and forms, the Supreme Reality is only one. Just as the same person is called in different names by different people at different times, God has many names and forms – all these are creations of the human mind. Scriptures emphatically declare that the Lord is the nameless and attributeless Eternal Reality. Understand properly the true and Divine nature of the Aham (‘I’). The ‘I’ is the master of your body, senses and the intellect, and is the power that permeates the entire cosmos.

Avoid unnecessary and excessive association with all and sundry. People visit Puttaparthi from America, Japan, Germany, Russia, and so on leaving their parents and kith and kin. Why then should you cultivate new relationships? Keep your association with anyone to the barest minimum. Keep your mind pure. There is no need to indulge in chatter. Talk less, think or work more. Cultivate this habit. Unnecessary association with strangers may have undesirable consequences. To join bad company and come to grief is a self-wrought calamity. Genuine spiritual aspirants should be particularly careful in eschewing bad company. They should create an environment conducive to their spiritual progress and mental peace. That is the only thing Swami wants. Do not waste time. Do not give room for useless thoughts.

ஓர் ஏழைப் பாட்டி.பெரியவாளிடம் அபார பக்தி.

கையிலிருந்த சொற்ப பணத்தைக் கொண்டு மிகவும்

சிக்கனமாக வாழ்க்கையைக் கழித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தாள்.

மடி ஆசாரம் பார்ப்பாள். ஏராளமான பக்தி.

தினமும் பெரியவர் இருக்கும் இடத்தைச் சுத்தம் செய்வாள்.

கோலம் போடுவாள். தீபம் ஏற்றி வைப்பாள்.

இரண்டு புடவைகள் தான் அவளுடைய ஆஸ்தி.இன்னொரு

புடவை வாங்கக் கூட அந்தப் பாட்டியிடம் பொருளில்லை.

ஒரு பக்தர் அரிசிக் குறுணையும்,வெல்லமும்

பெரியவாளிடம் சமர்ப்பிந்திருந்தார்.அவற்றை நல்லபடியாக

விநியோகம் செய்ய வேண்டுமே?

பாட்டிக்கு பெரியவா உத்தரவு போட்டார்கள்.

“காஞ்சிபுரத்தில் உள்ள எல்லா எறும்புப் புற்றுக்களிலேயும்

கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சம் போட்டுட்டு வா. அரை ஆழாக்கு

வீதம் போடு…” என்றார்கள்.

அந்தப் பாட்டியும் பக்தி சிரத்தையுடன் அலைந்து திரிந்து,

பல எறும்புப் புற்றுகளில் அரிசிக் குறுணையும்,

வெல்லமும் போட்டு விட்டு வந்தாள்.

அந்த வேலை முடிந்ததும் பெரியவா அந்தப் பாட்டியைக்

கூப்பிட்டார்கள்.

பெரிய மாலை போலத் திரிநூல் இருந்தது.

ஒரு டின் நிறைய எண்ணெய் இருந்தது.

“திரிநூலை கட் பண்ணி ஒவ்வொரு கோயிலுக்காகப் போய்,

எவ்வளவு விளக்குக்குப் போட முடியுமோ, அவ்வளவுக்குப்

போடு.ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் இரண்டு,மூன்று கோயில்களுக்குப் போய் விளக்கேற்றினாலும் போதும்” என்றார்கள்.

பாட்டிக்குப் பரம சந்தோஷம். பரம சிரத்தையுடன் நாள்தோறும் சில கோயில்களுக்குச் சென்று பெரியவா உத்தரவை நிறைவேற்றி வந்தாள்.சில நாட்களில் இந்தக் கைங்கரியம் நிறைவு பெற்றது.அந்தச் செய்தியையும் தெரிவித்தாள் பாட்டி.

பாட்டியின் பணிகள் முடிந்த சில நாட்களுக்குப்பின்,

ஒரு பெரிய மனிதர், ஆடம்பரமாக மடத்துக்கு வந்தார்.

பெரிய மனுஷத் தோரணை, அகங்காரம்.

“ஸஹஸ்ரபோஜனம் செய்துட்டு வந்திருக்கேன்.

லட்சதீபம் போட்டிருக்கேன்…..” என்று தற்பெருமை

தொனிக்கப் பெரியவாளிடம் சொன்னார்.

பெரியவாளுக்கு அவருடைய அகம்பாவம் புலப்பட்டது.

தர்ம காரியங்கள் செய்துவிட்டு அதைப் பற்றி பேசிக்

கொள்வது புண்ணியத்தைத் தராது. தர்மம் செய்தவருக்கு

நற்பலன்கள் கிடைக்காமல் போய்விடும்.

வினயத்துடன் சொல்லியிருந்தால் பெரியவா

சந்தோஷப்பட்டிருப்பார்கள். ஆனால்,அந்தப்

பெரிய மனிதர் அகம்பாவத்துடன் பேசினார்.

பெரியவா சொன்னார்கள்.

“இங்கே ஒரு பாட்டி இருக்கா. அந்த அம்மா

லக்ஷபோஜனம் செய்திருக்காள்.

பல லக்ஷதீபம் போட்டிருக்காள்….”

ஆணவப் பணக்காரருக்கு சற்று திடுக்கிட்டது.

‘யார் அந்தப் பாட்டி…அவ்வளவு பெரிய பணாக்காரி?’

என்று தெரிந்து கொள்ள ஆவல் பிறந்தது.

பெரியவா அந்தப் பாட்டியை அழைத்து வரச் சொன்னார்கள்.

“இவள்தான் அவ்வளவு பெரிய உத்தமமான காரியம்

செய்தவள்…”

அழுக்கான கிழிசல் புடவையைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டு

வந்து நின்ற பாட்டியைப் பார்த்து, பெரிய மனிதர்

அயர்ந்து போனார்.பாட்டியின் நெற்றியிலிருந்த

வெள்ளை வெளேரென்ற திருநீற்றுப் பூச்சு,

அவளுடைய இதய சுத்தத்தை விளாக்கினாற்போலிருந்தது.

பெரியவா சொன்னார்கள்.

“ஸர்வ ஜீவனிலும் பகவான் வியாபித்திருக்கிறார்.

பிரும்மா முதல் பிபீலிகம் (எறும்பு) வரை பகவான்

இருக்கிறார். மனுஷ்யாளிடத்திலும் இருக்கிறார்.

“நீ ஆயிரம் பேருக்கு அன்னம் போட்டிருக்கிறாய்.

ஆனால், இந்தப் பாட்டியோ பல லக்ஷம் ஜீவன்களுக்கு

கேட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்த பிரமுகர் தலைகுனிந்தார்.

மனிதரைக் கூப்பிட்டு, உட்கார வைத்து,பல சமாசாரங்கள்

பேசி, பிரசாதம் கொடுத்தனுப்பினார்கள்.

அடக்கம் கற்றுக்கொண்ட அவர், ஆனந்தமாகத்

திரும்பிச் சென்றார்
