Engage yourselves in selfless service. The reward for it will come of its own accord. Do not have any doubts on this score. Whatever you undertake to do, do it with all your heart and to your full satisfaction. That satisfaction will give you all the reward and recompense. It will confer all strength. This is the quality you have to cultivate. Acquire this true wealth. Without goodness, all other riches are of no avail.

ஸ்ரீமடத்துக்கு வந்திருந்தார். பெரியவாளின்
திருச்சந்நிதிக்கு சமர்பிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்காகத்
தன் தோட்டத்தில் விளைந்த இரண்டு தார்
வாழைப்பழ்ங்களைத் தன்னுடன் கொண்டு
வந்திருந்தார்.பெரியவாளுக்கு வாழைத்தார்களை
சமர்ப்பித்து விட்டு,அவருக்கு நமஸ்காரம் செய்து
பிரசாதம் பெற்றுக்கொண்டு புறப்பட்டார்.
மடத்திலேயே கைங்கர்யம் செய்யும்
கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தியை அழைத்து ‘இந்த ஒவ்வொரு
தார்லயும் எத்தனை பழம் இருக்குன்னு எண்ணிச்
சொல்லு’ என்றார் மகா பெரியவா.
கைகளை உதறிக் கொண்டு கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி
எழுந்தார். பெரியவாளிடம், “எண்ணிட்டேன் பெரியவா
ஒரு தார்ல 275 பழம்,இன்னொரு தார்ல 375 பழம்
இருக்கு” என்றார்.
“சபாஷ்..சரி..” என்று இழுத்த பெரியவா,”ஒரு தார்ல
1008 பழம் இருக்கிறதை நீ இதுவரைக்கும்
பார்த்திருக்கியோ..”என்று கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தியைப்
பார்த்துக் கேட்டார்.
ஒரு சில விநாடிகள் கழித்து கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி.
“இல்லே பெரியவா…இதுவரை நான் கேள்விப்
பட்டதில்லே..பெரியவா உத்தரவு கொடுத்தா அப்படி
ஒரு தார் எங்கிருந்தாலும் பிடிச்சுண்டு வந்துடறேன்”
என்றார்.
“ஓ…இந்தக் கேள்விக்கெல்லாம் நானே பதில்
சொல்லுவேன்னு ரொம்ப ஆவலா எம் மூஞ்சியை
பாத்துண்டிருக்கியா?” என்று புன்னகையுடன் கேட்ட
பெரியவா, “இதுக்கு நா பதில் சொல்ல வேணாம்.
இளையாத்தங்குடில மாரியம்மன் கோயில் இருக்கு.
அங்கே போ. அந்த அம்மனை தரிசனம் பண்ணு.
உனக்கு எல்லா விவரமும் தானா கிடைக்கும்”
என்று பொசுக்கென்று முடித்தார் மகா பெரியவா.
‘1008 பழங்கள் அடங்கிய வாழைத்தாரைப்
பார்ப்பதற்கு இளையாற்றங்குடிக்குப் போ’
என்று பெரியவா கட்டளை இட்டதில் வியப்பு ஒன்றும்
இல்லை.இளையாற்றங்குடிக்கும் காஞ்சி ஸ்ரீசங்கர
மடத்துக்கும் நிறைய தொடர்பு உண்டு.
மகா பெரியவா சொன்னபடி அடுத்த நாளே தன் குடும்பத்தோடு
இளையாற்றங்குடி புறப்பட்டார் கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி.
பெரியவா திருவாக்கின்படி மாரியம்மனைத் தரிசித்தார்.
அப்போது கோயிலில் இருந்த யாரோ இருவர்
வாழைத்தார்களைப் பற்றி திடீரென பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர்.
சட்டென்று இவர்கள் பேச்சு காதுகளில் விழ..ஆச்சர்யப்பட்டு
சம்பாஷணை நிகழ்ந்த திசை நோக்கித் திரும்பினார்.
அவர்களிடம், “ஐயா..1008 வாழைப்பழம் இருக்கிற மாதிரி
நல்ல வாழைத்தார் வேணும்.இந்த ஊரில் எங்கே கிடைக்கும்?”
என்று கேட்டார்.
ஏற இறங்கப் பார்த்த ஒரு ஆசாமி தன் வலக்கையை, நீட்டி,
“தோ…தெக்கால போங்க. ஒரு பெரிய கிணத்தைத்
தாண்டியதும் நிறைய வாழைமரம் இருக்கிற தோட்டம்
ஒண்ணு வரும்.அங்கே இருக்கிறவர்கிட்ட கேட்டுப் பாருங்க”
என்று சொன்னார்.
தலையில் முண்டாசு கட்டிய ஒருவர் இவரை எதிர்கொண்டு
விசாரிக்க 1008 வாழைப்பழங்கள் அடங்கிய தார் ஒன்று
வேண்டும் என்று சொன்னார்.சற்று முன் வாழைமரத்தில்
இருந்து அறுத்துத் தரையில் இறக்கி வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த
தார்களில் இருந்து ஒன்றைத் தூக்க முடியாமல் சுமந்து
வந்தார்.அவர். “இதான் சாமீ நீங்க கேட்ட 1008 பழத்தாரு..”
என்று இவர் முன்பாக வைத்தார்.
உடலெங்கும் புல்லரிப்பு. மகா பெரியவாளின் தீர்க்க
தரிசனத்தை நினைத்துப் பரவசப்பட்டார்.
தோட்டத்துக்காரன் சொன்ன விலையான ரூபாய் முப்பதைக்
கொடுத்து விட்டு,ஒரு ஆசாமியை கூலிக்கு அமர்த்தி
பெரியவா திருச்சந்நிதியின் முன்னால் அந்த வாழைத்தாரைக்
கொண்டு போய் வைத்தார்.
அதைப் பார்த்து பெரியவா புன்னகைத்தார்.
“1008 பழம் இருக்கிற தாரைப் புடிச்சுண்டு வந்துட்டே
போலிருக்கு?” என்று பெரியவா இடி இடியெனச் சிரித்தார்.
“நேத்து ஊர்ல பாக்கறதுக்குக் காயா இருந்தது. பெரியவா
சந்நிதிக்கு வந்தவுடனே மஞ்ச மசேல்னு பழுக்க ஆரம்பிச்சுடுத்து”
என்றார் கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி நெகிழ்ச்சியுடன்.
“விஷு (மலையாள புத்தாண்டு) வரப் போகிறது. இந்த தாரை
ரொம்ப கவனமா குருவாயூருக்கு அனுப்பிவிடு” என்றார்
பெரியவா தடாலென்று.
அப்போது பெரியவா கைங்கர்யத்தில் இருந்த சீடர்கள்
“விஷுவுக்கு இன்னும் பதினாலு நாள் இருக்கே..அதுக்குள்ள
இந்த தாரை இங்கே வெச்சிருந்தா அழுகி வீணாப் போயிடுமே”
என்று இவர் காதருகே வந்து குசுகுசுத்தனர்.
அப்போது கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி சொன்னார்;
“இது குருவாயூருக்குப் போகணும்னு பெரியவா உத்தரவு
போட்டிட்டாருன்னா, அது பதினாலு நாள் இல்லே…
பதினாலு வருஷம் ஆனாலும் கெட்டுப் போகாது.
அன்னிக்கிப் பழுத்த பழம் போல பொலிவோட பிரகாசமா
இருக்கும். பெரியவா வாக்கு என்னிக்குமே தப்பாது”
என்று சொல்லி தாரைப் பத்திரப்படுத்துமாறு ஒரு
சிஷ்யரிடம் சொன்னார்.
குருவாயூரில் சமர்ப்பிக்கப்படும் வரை அந்த 1008 பழத்தில்
ஒரு பழம்கூட தாரில் இருந்து கீழே விழவில்லை.
முனையில் கருக்கவில்லை. கொஞ்சமும் வீணாகாமல்
புத்தம் புதிதாக அப்படியே இருந்தது அதிசயம்தான்!.

Nikola Tesla was a Serbian American inventor, best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current electricity supply system.
Tesla was a great thinker and a visionary and came up several ideas such as radar, radio, light bulb, and X-ray for which he never received credit. The world knows better now, but Tesla was virtually unknown at one point because the American inventor Thomas Edison did his best to obliterate his name with a smear campaign (mostly because he was jealous of him).

Five centuries after the passing of Guru Nanak, his words still resonate with his followers. Let’s take a look at 10 of his teachings that make sense to this day.

This mantra was relevant in 1500 when there was no concept of poverty alleviation, and is just as relevant now, when poverty hasn’t left the world. When Nanak was 12, his father gave him Rs. 20 to set up a business. Nanak bought food worth Rs. 20 and gave it away. When his father asked him about this investment, Nanak told him it was a “true business”.
Today, a Gurudwara named Sacha Sauda (true business) exists, where Guru Nanak fed the poor.

Using religion to segregate people into categories is awful. In the Guru’s own words, “There is neither Hindu nor Muslim.”
On his visit to Hardiwar, he saw people offering the water of the Ganges towards the sun in the east, as an offering to their ancestors in heaven. He began to throw water towards the West. Maybe one could achieve enlightenment in forests centuries ago, but we’re not capable of that today. And Guru Nanak doesn’t even require you to do that. He believed that living as a householder was better than going away for a divine truth. Nanak himself was a farmer even after achieving enlightenment.

You need a mentor to guide you on how to live right. In Guru Nanak’s words, living right is much superior to visiting pilgrimage destinations.
The Punjab Golden Temple feeds over a 100,000 people of all religions every single day. Not because there is some divine gain, but because it is a sacred duty. For Nanak, the concept of selfless service was a way of life.
Nanak devoted his life to attacking formal rituals, caste, and practices that didn’t make any sense. This is the simplest way you can find meaning and purpose in your own life – cutting out the clutter of what society dictates you should do.

The world is a scriptural text. Time is a great preacher. There is no greater teacher than your heart. God is the greatest friend. With full faith in these four entities, lead your life on this earth. Prema (love) is the natural possession of every human being. It is the fruit of the tree of life. There are certain impediments to taste a fruit. You first have to remove the skin and the rind covering the pulp inside and also cast off the seed. The fruit of love is covered by the thick skin of ego. You have to peel off this skin of ‘mine’ and ‘thine’. Then only you can taste the sweet juice. That is why the Vedas describe God as Raso Vai Saḥ (Supreme Sweet Essence). So develop pure love, and through it establish unity with the Divine. The path of love is the shortest and the fastest road to realise the Divine.
