Miracle of Mother Nature !!! Watch Thousands of Birds Dance in the Twilight !!!

http://vimeo.com/31158841

Murmuration – it is something amazing to see.

No one knows why they do it. Yet each fall, thousands of starlings dance in the twilight above England and Scotland. The birds gather in shape-shifting flocks called murmurations, having migrated in the millions from Russia and Scandinavia to escape winter’s frigid bite. Scientists aren’t sure how they do it, either.

The starlings’ murmurations are manifestations of swarm intelligence, which in different contexts is practiced by schools of fish, swarms of bees, and colonies of ants. As far as I am aware, even complex algorithmic models haven’t yet explained the starlings’ aerobatics, which rely on the tiny birds’ quicksilver reaction time of under 100 milliseconds to avoid aerial collisions—and predators—in the giant flock.

Message For The Day….Install Krishna in Your Heart and Mind ….

Thirst for Krishna, to see Him, to hear Him, to listen to His Flute, for installing Him in the heart and mind, and for grasping His reality through the intellect – this thirst is most conducive to peace and joy. Devotion to Krishna is the chain by which the monkey mind can be fastened and subdued. The word Krish means to attract (as in aakarshana). Lord Krishna attracts your mind towards Him and turns them away from sensory desires that torment you. He satisfies the deepest thirst of all beings, for peace, joy and wisdom. Hence thirst for Krishna is a sign of health in the spiritual field. Repetition of the name Krishna is useless, unless the contemplation of the Glory of Krishna starts purifying your character. The Grace of the Lord is very powerful and is endowed on the deserving alone. Hence begin today to sublimate your character saturated with piety and devotion. Then you will secure the Grace of the Lord.

Wonder Sketch Drawings With Ink and Pencil !!!

New Jersey-based illustrator Tim Jeffs has spent the past year trying to draw intricately detailed animal portraits with nothing more than pens and ink. Originally completing the spectacular sketchbook drawings as a pastime, Jeffs’ son Harrison decided to share his dad’s meticulous craft on reddit. After receiving a great response, Jeffs decided to set up an Etsy shop and continue to expand his portfolio.

The ever-growing collection already includes an impressive number of animals, from a tiger and elephants to numerous rhinos and an iguana. Each new addition, which takes approximately 12 to16 hours on average, offers a special specimen to the artist’s ink zoo that’s full of character and realistic texture. The artistic renderings capture the essence of each creature as well as their distinct features like the furry hair of a bison. The artist says, “Doing artwork is my passion. I love detail. And the more complex, intricate the subject matter the better.”

While Success Is Produced , Impact is Created !!!

Very Inspiring : Creating has to be our nature…………..

· Why Anand Kumar of the ‘Super 30’ fame from Bihar, who has trained 267 ‘poorest of the poor’ students to enter IIT, refuse to take government or private help?
· Why does Ratan Tata, who has enough money to live a super comfortable life, work even after he has crossed 75 years of age?
· When a Steve Jobs has enough money to retire forever, why does he create an iPod, an iPad, an iPhone?
· Why does a Sister Agnes (Mother Teresa), trudge through the stinking by-lanes of Kolkatta searching for diseased destitutes, even if it means, exposing herself to diseases, harm and ridicule?
· Why do Bill and Melinda Gates visit poverty stricken, disease infested parts of Africa when they can be sunning themselves on the beaches of Hawaii?
· Why does a Rabindranath Tagore, with the risk of being hunted, return Knighthood to the British Empire after the Jallianwalabagh massacre even as the British were ruling his homeland?
· Why does a Sundarlal Bahuguna undertake a 5,000 km trans-Himalaya march to save the forests and the ecology of that part of our country saying, ‘Ecology is the permanent economy’? Why does he politely refuse the Padma Shree by the Govt of India saying that “I do not deserve it till flesh and blood (top soil) of India was flowing down to the sea”?
· Why does a Nandan Nilekanni, with about $ 1.4 Billion as his wealth, become a public servant, and assume charge of an audacious task (‘Aadhaar’ cards) as the chairman of Unique Identification Authority of India ?

We believe, it is so because Life is more than accumulation of things money can buy.

Because, Life is more than collecting rewards and accolades competing with others.

Because, Life is more than gaining attention and admiring glances when you are with people.

Because, Life is more than playing a games of one upmanship.

Because, Life is more than having more than / better / the latest compared to others.

Because, Life is about ‘creating something special’. Every human being has an inherent desire to create.

Give a child a paper and pencil. It will immediately get down to ‘create’.

Give the child a few blocks. It will immediately get down to ‘create’.

Give the child some things that make noise. It will immediately get down to ‘create’.

‘Creating’ is our nature.

There are enough people who believe the ultimate objective of life is to accumulate enough wealth and fame, create a safety nest for their immediate family and live life into obscurity. This is what most people define as success.

The goal of life should never be this ‘success’. It should be SIGNIFICANCE. The more we have created, the more we are significant. Otherwise, we are in a mirage called success.

While success is ‘produced’, impact is ‘created’ !!!

May each one of us live not just to produce success, but live, to create an impact.

Golden Age Of AirTravel…. Thro ” The Lense of a Flight Attendant !!!

A Lebanese photographer who worked as a flight attendant for nearly ten years has documented the behind-the-scenes life of air crew.
Lucien Samaha’s love affair with aircraft started when he was a young boy. His father and uncles worked for an airline and he spent the first ten years of his life flying first class to spend time with his family.
Samaha, who always carried a camera with him, has recently exhibited a selection of the 600 plus images he took during his time flying with TWA.

‘Flight Attendants epitomized international glamor and adventure to me. Growing up, I often dreamed of becoming one,’ he said.

As his 18th birthday approached Samaha, who had studied photography in high school, realized the life of luxury he had experienced for free on board planes would end.

‘I wouldn’t be able to jaunt around the world at will, for free – something I had been used to all my life,’ he said.

‘My only solution was to follow my childhood dream and become a flight attendant.’

On his 20th birthday Samaha was hired by TWA and began studying at the Breech Training Academy. He took photographs nearly the entire time, according to Slate.

‘I was shooting everything during that time, from fashion photography in Milan to photographing on layovers … street photography around the world,’ he said.

It was a glamorous period for flying. Samaha learned how to carve chateaubriand and how to serve caviar in first class as he worked on flights from Chicago, Tel Aviv, Rome and Paris.

Samaha, a documentary photographer who was part of the launch team for Kodak’s first digital camera and explained that he often used small cameras to help his subjects feel more relaxed.

‘People become relaxed with a small point-and-shoot camera, and that’s my aesthetic. I like intimacy … the smaller and quirkier the camera, the better—and I feel l can take great pictures with it,’ he said.

A collection of photos from that time, entitled The Flight Attendant Years: 1978-1986, is being shown at the Lombard Freid Gallery in New York. Many of Samaha’s former colleagues on the airlines have been invited to the gallery to view the images.

Message For The Day….Give up Worldly Pleasures, Malice, Envy and Hatred …

Practice renunciation from now on, so that you may set out on the journey when the call comes! No one knows when the call will come and there is no point in being in tears at that moment remembering the property you accumulated, the fame you amassed or the titles you won! The eagle is pestered by the crows, so long as it has a fish in its beak. The crows swish past the eagle to steal the fish from its mouth. They pursue the bird wherever it sits for a little rest. At last, the eagle gives up the attachment to the fish and drops it from its beak; the crows fly after the fish and leave the eagle free. So too, when you give up sense pleasures, the crows of pride, envy, malice and hatred will fly away and leave you in peace.

He recently told the Essex Echo that street art is his biggest influence. He said: ‘I like Banksy and the way he uses street art.

‘For me, the street art I do is just looking at things that are every day and seeing how little people can be used to make these things look funny.

‘It makes objects look different, it’s a mixture between things that are going on in the world and things that just pop into my head.’

” You Don”t Know my Wife ” !!!!

I was taught in my early life that whatever happens, there is no use being bitter. Never be sour, whatever happens. On the other hand, even non-events upset my wife. If there is cobweb or gossamer hanging from the roof, or, if the roof leaks during rain, she start complaining and even gets into a rage. She raises her voice as if I had climbed up and put cobwebs on the roof or made holes therein.

My house, perhaps, is one of the oldest in Ernakulam. Most houses, almost as old as ours, were either pulled down to build commercial complexes or sold to apartment builders. The result: the area is replete with tall buildings and my house and the next one look like a couple of ducklings among a group of stately Chinese ganders. Thomas, my neighbour, would always joke: “Our two houses will definitely find a place in Ripley’s Book of Records.”

The front yard is full of trees — mango, jack fruit, tamarind, wood apple — and my house sits under their shadow. We spend most of our time in the open verandah that faces the road.

My wife would look at the flats in the high-rise buildings and murmur: “Lucky people! Not much to clean and no guests to feed.”

My wife’s complaint is that there are 13 rooms in our house but none is habitable. “Have you heard of a bedroom having windows on all sides? Why? Is some kind of exhibition going on in the room? If I want to change my dress, I have to close all six windows and three doors. It is high time that we moved into a flat,” she grumbled.

Very soon, we had to attend the funeral of her distant uncle. After retirement, he and his wife were living in a flat. Those years, flats were not popular. When we reached there, all rooms were crowded with people — they were occupying even the kitchen and bathrooms; and a heated discussion was going on on how to take the body down from the 10th floor. The seven-foot coffin could not be carried in the lift, which was only five feet in length. Carrying the body down the staircase was also not feasible as it was too narrow and winding.

Somebody suggested that the body, secured inside the coffin, be dropped spreading rubber beds on the ground floor to soften the impact. Another genius suggested airlifting the coffin from the rooftop which was only a floor away. Finally, my wife came to their rescue.

She ordered them to put the body in the coffin and close the lid. She ordered that both ends of the coffin be tightly secured with strong plastic ropes. She recruited three strong persons and asked them to enter the lift with the coffin held in a vertical position. In five seconds it reached the ground floor. People began asking one another: “Who is that girl?” Someone asked me too without knowing who I was. I said: “I don’t know; but I know her phone number.”

Thereafter, her refrain changed to: “It is enough if we move to a small house”.

You don’t know my wife!
