Mammatus clouds at sunset, over Idaho
Mammatus clouds can appear ominous. But, in a way that’s so common in nature, their dangerous aspect goes hand in hand with a magnificent beauty.
Andrew Ashton in Nampa, Idaho submitted this beautiful shot, which I believe he captured earlier this week. The pouch-like protrusions hanging from the undersides of these clouds are called mammatus clouds.
One interesting aspect of mammatus clouds is that they’re formed by sinking air. Most clouds are formed by rising air. They typically indicate stormy weather, but, contrary to myth, they don’t continue extending downward to form tornados.

Those who have left home to study or work in other cities will know that this always involves leaving behind a part of their soul. For most, home is anywhere there is maa ka pyaar and ghar ka khaana. And just how wonderful would it be if you could have that familiar love and food away from home too?
This video, posted by Best Ads on Facebook and already shared over 18,000 times in two days, will not only show that this is possible but also warm your heart and bring a huge smile to your face.
The ad shows two mothers, one in Chennai and the other in Jodhpur, talking about their sons and how much they miss them. “I always ask him whether he ate well and what he ate,” says one mother in Tamil.
Their sons have travelled across the country to study – Chennai resident Santosh in IIT Jodhpur and Jodhpur’s Vivek in IIT Chennai. Santosh and Vivek talk about their exciting new lives away from home. “But still I miss my home,” says Santosh, adding that he misses his mum’s food the most.
What happens next is nothing short of brilliant. The mothers, through a ‘Mothers Exchange Programme,’ get in touch with each other, discuss their sons’ favourite dishes, share recipes and teach each other how to make them.
After many phone calls, ingredient-hunting and video chats, both mothers manage to almost-perfect each other’s dishes for their ‘new’ sons.

” Please Accept this Cake as a Delicious Notice of Resignation …” !!!
RESIGNING from a job is never easy, but there’s one thing that might help soften the blow — cake.
Mark Herman, a newscast director at a television station in Arizona, decided to leave on a (sugar) high note when he resigned from his position at KOLD-TV, last week.
“I handed in the most delicious letter of resignation ever,” he wrote in his Reddit post, which included a photo of his creative efforts. His resignation letter was literally the icing on the white, strawberry-filled cake.
The cake, which was made by a bakery in Tucson, was a sweet attempt to deliver the bad news to Mr Herman’s boss and fellow employees.
“I knew they’d be disappointed in my departure,” Mr Herman told blogger Jim Romenesko. “So I decided that I should resign via cake — not only because nobody can be mad or sad at a cake, but also because I’m a bit of a joker and a cake of resignation is pretty damn hilarious.”

The letter read:
Dear Michelle,
Please accept this cake as formal (and delicious) notice of my resignation from the position of newscast director News 13. My last day of employment will be Friday, May 22.
I will miss KOLD and all the incredible people I’ve been fortunate enough to work with over the last 4 years. I cannot think you enough for all the opportunities and experiences you have given to me during my time here.
I appreciate your understanding and I wish you all the very best. If there’s anything I can do to help with the transition during my last few weeks here, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Mr Herman’s efforts did not go unappreciated. When his boss saw the cake she laughed and said “No way! You crack me up!”, before taking the cake to a meeting where the announcement was made to the rest of the staff.
“The cake definitely made the bad news a little bit more palatable,” said Mr Herman.

Indira Gandhi International Airport Adjudged world’s Best airport…
The capital’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) has been adjudged the world’s best airport for the year 2014, under the category of handling 25 to 40 million passengers per annum, officials said on Saturday.
Airports Council International (ACI) presented the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) award to IGIA at a ceremony of the ACI Asia-Pacific/World Annual General Assembly on April 28 in Jordan.
“We are honoured to represent an Indian airport at a highly acclaimed international forum as ACI. Our IGI Airport partners and employees have consistently delivered a memorable and distinct experience to our customers, enabling us to achieve the coveted world number one position,” said I. Prabhakara Rao, CEO of Delhi International Airport Pvt. Limited, which manages IGIA.
The Delhi airport scored 4.90 on a scale of 5 points measured by 300 members of the ACI ASQ benchmarking programme.
IGIA bettered its ranking from second position for the years 2011, 2012 . and 2013 to emerge on top in 2014.
Their score was 3.02 in 2007.
ASQ is the key to understanding how to increase passenger satisfaction and improve business performance, said Angela Gittens, director general of ACI World.
As many as 40 million passengers used IGIA to reach 58 domestic and 62 international destinations in 2014-15.
During the period, the average flight movements were 885 per day while 696,000 metric tonnes of cargo was handled.
IGIA hosts six domestic carriers, 56 international carriers and also has the capacity to handle the gigantic Airbus A380 aircraft.
The airport serves as a hub for leading Indian airlines Air India, IndiGo, Vistara and SpiceJet.
Delhi International Airport Private is a joint venture between the GMR Group, Airports Authority of India, Fraport and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad.
The airport was developed under the public-private partnership mode with the mandate for DIAL to finance, design, build, operate and maintain the Delhi airport for 30 years, with an option to extend it for another 30 years.
ACI, founded in 1991, is a trade association of the world’s airports.
