முருகன் புகழைக் கூறும் திருப்புகழ் முதலான நவமணி நூல்களை இய்ற்றியருளியவர் அருட்கவி அருணகிரிநாதர். ஒருமுறை அவர், மஹாபாரதத்திற்குத் தமது அற்புத வாக்கால் உரை எழுதிய வில்லிபுத்தூராரைச் சந்திக்க நேர்ந்தது. பெரும் புலவரான வில்லிபுத்தூராரைக் கண்டு புலவர் சமூகமே நடுங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்த காலகட்டம் அது. காரணம் அவர், தன்னுடன் வாது செய்து தோற்ற புலவர்களின் காதுகளைக் குறடு கொண்டு தோண்டும் வழக்கத்தைக் கையாண்டு வந்தார். அவரது செருக்கை அடக்க திருவுளம் கொண்ட முருகன், ஒரு திருவிளையாடலை நிகழ்த்த முடிவு செய்தான்.அருணகிரியாரை, வில்லிபுத்தூராருடன் கவிதைப் போட்டியில் மோதவைப்பதென்றும், தோற்றவர் காதை, மற்றவர் அறுத்துவிடலாம் எனவும் முடிவாயிற்று.

அருணகிரிநாதர், போட்டிக்காகப் பாடவேண்டி இருந்ததால், கடினமான தமிழ் நடையைக் கொண்ட ‘கந்தர் அந்தாதி’ எனும் நூலை இயற்றத் துவங்கினார்.வில்லிபுத்தூராரும் உடனுக்குடன் உரை கூறலானார் .53 செய்யுட்கள் இவ்வாறு நிறைவுற்றபின் மேலும் எப்படிப் பாடினால் அவரை மடக்கலாம் என்று அருணகிரியார் முருகனை எண்ணித் துதித்து நின்ற போது, ‘த’கர வர்க்க எழுத்துக்களை மட்டுமே வைத்து அடுத்த செய்யுளைப் பாடுமாறு முருகன் எடுத்துக் கொடுத்தான்.அந்தச் செய்யுள் பின்வருமாறு:

உயிர் போகும் காலத்தில், முருகன் அடியிணை பெறும் கருணையைத் தரக்கேட்டு அருணகிரியார் பாடிய மேற்குறிப்பிட்ட 54ஆம் பாடலுக்கு உரை கூற முடியாது தவித்தார் வில்லிபுத்தூரார்! தம் தோல்வியை அவர் ஒப்புக்கொண்டதும், அருணை முநிவர் தாமே அப்பாடலுக்கு உரை செய்தார்.அத்துடன் மொத்தம் நூறு பாடல்களைப் பாடி நூலை நிறைவு செய்தார்.ஆனால் வில்லிபுத்தூராரின் காதை அறுக்க ஒப்புக்கொள்ளவில்லை நம் கருணை முநிவர். ‘.இனியும் இது போன்ற இழிவுச் செயல்களில் ஈடுபடக்கூடாது.’ என்று அறிவுரை கூறியதோடு அவர் கையிலிருந்த குறடாவைப் பிடுங்கி வீசி எறிந்தார் என்பது வரலாறு.

கந்தர் அந்தாதிப் பாடல்கள் அனைத்துமே, சி,சீ,செ,சே,த,தீ,தெ,தே எனும் எட்டு எழுத்துக்களை மட்டுமே கொண்டு துவங்குகின்றன. 27 பாடல்களில் திருச்செந்தூரைப் பற்றிய குறிப்புகள் வருவதால், செந்தூரில் இது பாடப்பட்டிருக்கலாம் என்பதும், திருவண்ணாமலைக் கோவிலிலுள்ள யானை திறை கொண்ட விநாயகரையும், உண்ணாமுலை அம்மையையும் காப்புச் செய்யுட்களில் துதித்துள்ளபடியால் இது ஒரு வேளை திருவண்ணாமலையில் பாடப்பட்டிருக்கலாம் என்பதும் ஆராய்ச்சிக்குரிய விஷயங்கள்.

கந்தர் அந்தாதி பற்றிய குறிப்புகள் மற்ற சில நூல்களிலும் வருவதை, திருப்புகழ் உரை ஆசிரியர் டாக்டர் வ.சு.செங்கல்வராயப்பிள்ளையவர்கள் மேற்கோள் காட்டியுள்ளார்.

துதிதீ – இவ்வளவு நாட்களாக உன்னைத் துதித்து வந்த என் புத்தி

தொத்ததே – உன்னுடன் ஐக்கியமாகி விட வேண்டும்.

இந்த தெய்வீக கந்தர் அந்தாதி செய்யுட்களை பதப்பிரிவுடனும் பொருட்செறிவுடனும் இந்த இணைய.

” Did Fliers Really Get Out and ‘ Push’ Frozen Russian Jetliner !!

Video of that appears to show passengers dislodging a frozen Russian plane is making the rounds on social media and in various news outlets.

In its report, the AFP news agency writes “Siberian air passengers had to get out and push their plane in temperatures of minus-52 degrees Celsius (-62F) after its chassis froze, Russian prosecutors said Wednesday. The extraordinary story emerged after a passenger posted a video on YouTube showing a group of cheery travelers pushing the Tupolev plane on the snow-covered runway in Igarka, which is beyond the Arctic Circle.”

The Guardian newspaper of London was among others to jump on the story, writingthat “it might sound like a bad joke about budget flights but for passengers at a remote Siberian airport there was little to laugh about when they were asked to leave the plane in extreme cold weather and help push it along the tarmac.”

But a report from Russia-centric website RT.com puts a somewhat different spin on the story.

RT’s report does say the wheels of the UTair Tupolev Tu-134 were frozen to the ground at the airport, about 100 miles north of the Arctic Circle. However, RT suggests the video was more of a “selfie” photo-op than an actual effort to move the heavy aircraft.

RT says the charter flight’s 74 passengers offered to exit the plane in an effort to lighten the aircraft as airport crews tried to get the plane headed toward the runway.

“The passengers disembarked to lighten the weight, and then they volunteered to move it,” a spokeswoman for UTair tells RT.

RT adds that the director of the airport – whom RT did not identify by name – told RT he was doubtful that passengers would have been able to move the heavy aircraft. RT writes the airport director “added that it would be hard to reach its two-meter-high wings, and if you did manage, the cover and flaps could get damaged.”

“The passengers … must have decided to make some sort of a ‘selfie’. The joke proved right and became a good one in the internet,” the airport director is quoted as saying by RT.

The plane did eventually take off from Igarka for the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk. As for the possibility of damaging the aircraft, Russian authorities say they’ve launched an investigation.

Regardlessof the precise details, the video has been a hit on the Web.

The Most Expensive Book In the World !!!

A copy of John James Audubon’s Birds of America was sold at an auction in London for £7.3 million ($11.5 million), and thus became the most expensive book ever sold. The auction was a rare chance to own one of the best-preserved editions of the 19th- century masterpiece, with its 435 hand-colored illustrations. The winning bid was placed by London-based art dealer Michael Tollemache, who outbid three others during the auction.Don’t miss the video of the book at the bottom!

Only 120 complete sets of Audubon’s 435 hand-colored, life-sized engravings of America’s birds are believed to exist today, with the majority (107) owned by institutions. The last full edition of The Birds of America, which went up for auction in 2010, sold for £7.3m at Sotheby’s, breaking the world record for a single book.

“Birds of America is most significant for its sheer beauty. It’s a masterpiece of illustration,” the words of Richard Davies, a rare and used books specialist. “Aside from being famous in the rare book world, Birds of America also has immense historical and ornithological importance. Some of the birds John James Audubon painted are extinct, and he also discovered new species.”

Measuring over three feet in height and running to four volumes, The Birds of America was created by Audubon between 1827 and 1838. Son of a French sea captain , Audubon was an itinerant artist who traveled America’s wilderness drawing the birds he loved. He was insistent that The Birds of America was made up of life-size illustrations and that it showed all the known species of north America, making the finished volume

Each of the printed books were colored by hand, and it was an extremely laborious process. Even by today’s standards, the vividness of its illustrations of birds is extraordinary but when it was being released in the 1830s it was mindboggling. Audubon employed a rather shocking technique to produce the book. He hunted the birds down and shot them before propping them up on wires to paint. Each drawing would take about 60 hours to complete. Ironically, many of his beautifully rendered subjects are now extinct, such as the Carolina Parakeet, Passenger Pigeon, Labrador Duck, Great Auk, Esquimaux Curlew, and Pinnated Grouse.

Picking up a copy of the “book” is a two-person job, said the dealer, who examined an edition at Sotheby’s once prior to the auction. “The (very nervous) resident expert and I (gingerly) turned the pages together, him at the top and me at the bottom, and peeled them back (respectfully) into just the right conjunction with the rest of the plates,” said Gekoski. “You have to be careful how you handle a gargantuan book worth more than 10 million dollars.”

காஞ்சிபுரத்தில் இருந்து சுமார் 10 கி.மீ. தொலைவில் அமைந்துள்ள கூரம் என்ற கிராமத்தில், தன் மனைவி ஆண்டாளுடன் வாழ்ந்து வந்தவர் கூரத்தாழ்வார். ராமாநுஜரை விட ஏழு ஆண்டுகள் மூத்தவரான கூரத்தாழ்வாருக்கு இரட்டையராகப் பிறந்த இரண்டு பிள்ளைகளில் மூத்தவர் பராசர பட்டர்; அடுத்தவர் வியாச பட்டர்.

இந்த கூரத்தாழ்வார் மஹாலக்ஷ்மியின் கடாக்ஷத்தினால், எல்லாவிதமான ஐஸ்வர்யங் களையும் பெற்றிருந்தார். தாம் பெற்ற அந்த ஐஸ்வர்யத்தைக் கொண்டு, வருகின்ற பாகவதர்க்கெல்லாம் ததியாராதனம் (சாப்பாடு போட்டு) செய்வித்து அனுப்புவதை வழக்கமாகக்கொண்டிருந்தார். ஒவ்வொரு நாளுமே இந்த ததியாராதன வைபவம் நடைபெறும். தங்கத்தினால் ஆன அவருடைய வீட்டுக் கதவுகளில் தங்க மணி, வெண்கல மணி போன்றவை பொருத்தப்பட்டிருக்குமாம்.

ஒருநாள் இரவு பத்தரை மணிக்கு, காஞ்சிபுரம், வரதராஜ பெருமாள் கோயிலில் அர்த்தஜாம பூஜை முடிந்து, பெருமாளும் தாயாரும் பள்ளியறைக்கு எழுந்தருளி, கோயிலின் நடைகூட சாத்தப்பட்டுவிட்டது. அப்போது எங்கேயோ கதவு சாத்தப்படும் ஓசையும், அதனால் ஏற்பட்ட மணியோசையும் பள்ளியறையில் இருந்த பெருமாளுக்கும், பெருந்தேவி தாயாருக்கும் கேட்டது.

மணியோசையைக் கேட்ட பெருந்தேவி தாயார், ”யாருடைய வீடோ ரொம்பப் பெரிய தாக இருக்கும் போலிருக்கிறது. ரொம்ப பணக்காரராக இருப்பார் போலிருக்கிறது. அவர் வீட்டு வாசல் கதவை இவ்வளவு தாமதமாக மூடுகிறாரே. நாமே நம்முடைய உற்ஸவம் எல்லாம் முடிந்து கதவை சாத்திக்கொண்டோம். ஆனால், இன்னும் யாரோ ஒருவர் இதுவரை ததியாராதனம் செய்துவிட்டு, இப்போதுதான் கதவை சாத்துகிறாரே. அவர் யாராக இருக்கும்” என்று வரதராஜ பெருமாளிடம் கேட்கிறார்.

அதற்கு வரதராஜ பெருமாள் சொல்கிறார்… ”தேவி, அவர்தான் கூரத்தாழ்வார். அவர் நிரம்ப ஐஸ்வர்யம் உள்ளவர். அவருடைய செல்வத்தின் அளவை நம்மால் கணக்கிடவே முடியாது.

ஒவ்வொருநாளும் அவர் எத்தனை பேருக்கு சாப்பாடு போடுவார் தெரியுமா? ஒவ்வொரு
நாளும் காலையில் தொடங்கும் ததியாராதனம் நள்ளிரவு வரை நடைபெறுவது வழக்கம்.”

பெருந்தேவி தாயாரும் வரதராஜ பெருமாளும் இப்படிப் பேசிக்கொண்டது வெளியில் நின்றுகொண்டிருந்த அடியவரின் காதுகளில் விழுந்தது.

காஞ்சிபூர்ணர் என்ற பெயர் கொண்ட அந்த அடியவர், பூவிருந்தவல்லி க்ஷேத்திரத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர். அவர் தினமும் காஞ்சிபுரத்துக்குச் சென்று வரதராஜ பெருமாளுக்கு திருவாலவட்ட கைங்கர்யம் (விசிறி விசிறுதல்) செய்பவர்.

பெருமாளும் தாயாரும் இப்படி பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்ததைக் கேட்ட அவர், மறுநாள் கூரத்தாழ்வாரைச் சந்தித்தபோது, ”ஆழ்வாரே, நீர் பெரிய செல்வந்தராமே? நேற்றிரவு உம்முடைய சொத்து மதிப்பை பெரியவர்கள் கணக்கு பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார்களே” என்று கூறினார். அவர்களைப் பொறுத்தவரை பெரியவர்கள் என்றால், அது காஞ்சி வரதராஜ பெருமாளையும் பெருந்தேவி தாயாரையுமே குறிக்கும்.

இப்படி ஒருவர் நம்மிடம் சொன்னால், நாமாக இருந்தால் என்ன செய்திருப்போம்? பெருமிதத்தால் பூரித்துப்போய் சிரித்துக் கொள்வோம். ஆனால், கூரத்தாழ்வார் என்ன செய்தார் தெரியுமோ?

”அடியேனுக்கு பக்தி உண்டு; பிரேமை உண்டு; வைராக்கியம் உண்டு என்றெல்லாம் பெரியவர்கள் பேசிக்கொள்ளாமல், அடியேனின் ஐஸ்வர்யத்தின் மதிப்பைக் குறிப்பிட்டு எப்போது பேசினார்களோ, அப்போதே அதைத் துறந்துவிட முடிவு செய்துவிட்டேன்” என்று கூறியவராக, தாம் பெற்றிருந்த அத்தனை ஐஸ்வர்யங்களையும் தர்ம ஸ்தாபனங்களுக்கு எழுதி வைத்துவிட்டு, தம்முடைய மனைவி ஆண்டாளை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு ஸ்ரீரங்கத்துக்குச் சென்றுவிட்டார்.

அப்படி அவர் செய்ததற்கு காரணம் என்ன தெரியுமோ?

ஒருவன் பெரிய பணக்காரராக இருந்தால், பெருமாள் அவனைக் கைவிட்டுவிடுகிறார். அவன் செல்வத்தை எப்போது துறக்கிறானோ அப்போதுதான் பெருமாளின் அனுக்கிரஹம் அவனுக்குக் கிடைக்கிறது. ‘யஸ்யாதம் அனுக்கிரஹிணம்’ யாரை கடாக்ஷிக்க வேண்டும் என்று நான் ஆசைப்படுகின்றேனோ, ‘தஸ்வித்தமராம்யஹா’ அவருடைய சொத்தை நான் உடனே அபகரித்துவிடுவேன் என்று சொல்லி இருக்கிறார்.

திருமங்கை ஆழ்வார் அஹோபிலம் திருத்தலத்தில் அருள்புரியும் லக்ஷ்மிநரசிம்மனாய் எழுந்தருளி இருக்கும் மாலோல நரசிம்மரை மங்களாசாசனம் செய்யும்போது இப்படி பாடியிருக்கிறார்.

கொலைக்கையாளன் நெஞ்சிடந்த கூருகிராளனிடம்

அஹோபிலத்தில் பெருமாள் தம்மை சேவிக்க வரும் பக்தர்களிடம் இருக்கும் செல்வங்களை எல்லாம், கொள்ளையர்களை அனுப்பி பறித்துக்கொள்வாராம். அவர் ஏன் அப்படி செய்கிறார் தெரியுமோ? அஹோபிலம் புனிதமான க்ஷேத்திரம் ஆயிற்றே. இந்த க்ஷேத்திரத்தைப் பற்றி திருமங்கை ஆழ்வார் ஏன் இப்படி பாடியிருக்கிறார் என்று அதற்கு விளக்கம் சொல்ல வந்த பெரியவாச்சான் பிள்ளைக்கு ஆதங்கம் ஏற்பட்டது. தம்முடைய ஆதங்கத்தை பெருமாளிடம் முறையிட்டார். பெருமாள் அவரை சமாதானப்படுத்துவதுபோல்,

”கையில் பொருளுடன் ஒருவர் என்னை சேவிக்க வரும்போது, பெருமாளுக்கு சமர்ப்பிக்க தன்னிடமும் பொருள் உள்ளது என்ற எண்ணம் தோன்றும். அது அகங்காரத்தைக் குறிக்கும் என்பதால்தான் நான் அந்த பொருளை அபகரித்துக்கொள்கிறேன். அப்போதுதான் அவருக்கு என்னுடைய அருள் கிடைக்கும்”’ என்றாராம்.

இதைத்தான் திருமங்கை ஆழ்வார்,

‘சிலைக்கை வேடர்தெழிப்பறாத சிங்கவேள் குன்றமே’ என்று பாடி இருக்கிறார்.

அப்படி என்றால் மஹாலக்ஷ்மியின் கடாக்ஷத்தினால் நாம் பெற்றிடக்கூடிய ஐஸ்வர்யங்களுக்கு மதிப்பே இல்லையா என்று கேட்கத் தோன்றுகிறது அல்லவா? மஹாலக்ஷ்மி கடாக்ஷத்தினால் நாம் பெற்றிருக்கக்கூடிய செல்வங்களை, சாஸ்திரங்களில் சொல்லி இருக்கிற தர்மமுறைப்படி பயன்படுத்தினால், அதே மஹாலக்ஷ்மியின் கடாக்ஷத்தினால் நாம் பெறக்கூடிய நிறைவான ஐஸ்வர்யமான புருஷார்த்தம் என்கிற மோக்ஷ நிலையை நாம் அடையலாம்.

மஹாலக்ஷ்மி கடாக்ஷத்தினால் நாம் அடைந்திருக்கக் கூடிய செல்வத்தை,

அன்பும் அறனும் உடைத்தாயின் இல்வாழ்க்கை
பண்பும் பயனும் அது

அன்பு, அறன் இரண்டும் போதும். அவையே இல்வாழ்வில் குணமும் பயனும் தரும். (திருக்குறள் புதிய உரை – சுஜாதா)

என்று திருக்குறளில் சொல்லி உள்ளபடி பயன்படுத்த வேண்டும். அப்போதுதான் நாம் பெற்ற செல்வத்தின் நிறைவான பயனான புருஷார்த்தத்தை அடையமுடியும். அன்பும் அறனும் என்றுதான் சொல்லியிருக்கிறதே தவிர, செல்வத்தைப் பற்றி சொல்லப்படவில்லை. அன்பும் தர்மகுணமும் இருக்கும்போது செல்வமும் இருக்கலாம். ஆனால், செல்வம் வந்துவிட்டால், இந்த அன்பும் தர்ம குணமும் நம்மை விட்டுப் போனாலும் போய்விடும். செல்வம் அதிகம் சேர்ந்துவிட்டாலும் அன்பும் தர்ம குணமும் நமக்கு இருக்க வேண்டும்.

கூரத்தாழ்வார் அப்படிப்பட்ட உயர்ந்த பரிபக்குவ மனநிலையைப் பெற்றிருந்தவர். அதனால்தான் அவர், ‘ஹத்ரி’… முக்குணங்களைக் கடந்தவர் என்று போற்றப்படுகிறார். தர்ம, அர்த்த, காம என்னும் மூன்றையும் துறந்து, மோக்ஷத்தில் மட்டுமே விருப்பம் கொண்டவராக இருந்தபடியால்தான், தாம் பெற்றிருந்த செல்வத்தைக் குறித்து பெருமாளும் தாயாரும் பேசிக்கொண்டதாகக் கேட்ட உடனே, தாம் பெற்றிருந்த செல்வம் அனைத்தையும் துறந்து, ஸ்ரீரங்கத்துக்குச் சென்றுவிட்டார்.

WHEN you think of the world’s biggest hotels, you usually conjure up images of the main strip of Vegas.

However plans for the world’s biggest hotel have been submitted right here in Australia.

The $8.15 billion Aquis project was put forward by Hong Kong billionaire Tony Fung for a six star hotel and casino with 7500 rooms just outside of Cairns.

However the grand plans have come to a grinding halt as Queensland’s Gaming Commission refused to speed up its approval for the takeover bid of Reef Casino Trust, which owns Reef Hotel Casino in Cairns, as part of the project.

The decision to grant regulatory approval for the proposed takeover expires on November 28 and Aquis says it will not extend meaning the offer will lapse. Plans for the resort are likely to still go ahead.

Caught up in red tape, Far North Queensland civic and business leaders yesterday urged the Newman Government to hasten the process and support tourism.

The resort is planned on a former sugar cane farm in Yorkey’s Knob, 15km north of Cairns, and is to feature an 18 hole golf course and lagoon.

Currently the biggest hotel in Australia is the Four Points by Sheraton Sydney with 682 rooms, meaning the proposed resort would be a whopping 11 times bigger.
